Talking about engine building in a solo game, what would be some good suggestions? Ive got It's a Wonderful World and i liked it solo, but it gets old kinda fast. The obvious one is Terraforming Mars , tho with that i will wait for the card game.
Brilliant realty check. You have pushed me off the fence on to the 'don't buy' side. I thank you. Actually, my wallet and mental health do. 😁 I don't believe I would have enough FUN! If YOU have a few issues with the game, as an inexperienced board-gamer, I am sure I would not enjoy some aspects of the game - or cope with them! Another great review.
So glad this was helpful! That's honestly my favorite thing to do with these videos, whether it's helping someone make a purchase or AVOID a purchase :)
ohh I was convinced the AI would be a con for you Mike, I just wasn't sure how high up in the list it would be! I'm not missing this game after selling it, but if it's on offer for cheap I might pick it up again... I've been seriously considering getting Viscounts of the West Kingdom, I'm just trying to convince myself I need it in my life!
So I got a review copy of Architects recently. My plan is to do a playthrough and review of that one, then maybe a co-op play on the channel. Then I'm going to do a single review of Tomesaga in general, touching on each of the co-op scenarios and evaluating which work best and whether it's worth it. Hope that sounds good!
Your frustration was palpable at the end of the playthrough. I played it once and beat the "easy" AI by 2 points and it immediately went on my sell pile. The whole thing just felt like bookkeeping to me. Running the AI was easy but took just enough time to throw me out of my rhythm. When the AI starts using the King's Favors, it gets wonky. Every turn started with, "OK what was I doing again?" I'm generally a fan of Garphill but this one is just not for me. Tedious and fiddly. I appreciate the design it's just soulless bookkeeping to me.
0:00 - Introduction
0:41 - King's Orders and Favors
1:27 - Engine Building?
2:24 - Deep or Overwhelming
3:29 - Worker Combos
4:20 - Solo Opponent
Mike and Colin are my two favorite reviewers/teachers. It's so cool they are in the same channel :D
Colin is awesome!

Ha, those were two I would suggest. Another I covered recently is Empyreal, though it’s pricy to get the solo.

Thanks for this. Definitely over my head at this time. I’ll stick with Architects for now.
Good plan! Try out the expansion if you haven’t yet. I’ve heard it elevates architects greatly

Maybe you should get a copy from someone cool named Mike ;)
@@OneStopCoopShop ohh, tip for Shelf Life if it appears on there... although Paladins would be an instacull I would imagine lol
Glad to hear you came back to Paladins. Your energy shows that you love it! Will there be a co-op review?

Fully agree. I've been hoping that they'll adjust the AI in the expansion.
I’m very curious as well
Did you upload a 2x speeded up version of your recording?
You might want to check your RUclips settings. This is normal speed :)

Couldn’t say it better. I much prefer viscounts!
