Great Solar discussion and congrats on your published book.
I think Solar really shine using the Infiltrate formation to bully the enemy in the midfield with the power axe guys and ogryns garrisoned in mid field buildings threatening to charge approaching enemy units. As you said their vanquisher leman russ are great at out ranging the enemy forcing the enemy forwards. Your points about the Solar mobility is true, mitigated a bit by recent transport releases, so bears thinking about how a Solar army should counter that weakness.

Now we have plastic Arvus Lighters on the way (at some point) so at least one consideration preventing an airborne Auxilia deployment has been reduced.

Great stuff! I feel a lot of creators are ignoring the objective control game and focusing on which units have the most DPS. This was a breath of fresh air.

I’d love to see a World Eaters list. I’ve had the idea for an army or allied detachment build around having as many Thunderhawks as possible full of jump pack infantry but I’m not sure how feasible that is rules wise.

I think it’s better to use the Veletarii in an offensive role and keep some tercios back for defence. The Veletarii don’t need orders from a HQ unit (no chain of command), so are more flexible and reliable on the attack, and Rend means they can actually take on troops in defensive positions. The tercios might not be good at counter-charges, but if you can find a building near an objective they can hunker down and wait for the enemy to come to then. Their Line ability means they’ll need to be seriously outnumbered before losing control.

Very good pointing out the lack of "chain of command". That's something I completely missed! Ultimately the Veletarii role (at this size) is heavily dependent on the deployment and objective layout for whatever mission you're playing

Ogryns and Veletarii are so cheap and fairly numerous per box that I still think having a few (say 4) stands in a backfield unit to shoo away assault marines or teleporting terminators is still a good idea.
Having bigger blocks of either to push the midfield is still a must though!

@@SalemtheAmateur I would like to see a blood angels list. I am going to build one around their mobility so at least one outrider formation, one tank formation, legion demi formation and something else, not sure what yet. I wont be using drop pods because they are so expensive and I dont feel I would get my moneys worth.

I definitely plan to, as Im a sucker for bat motifs, but given how strange their ability is it might take a little experimentation until I put out a video on them. I'll keep y'all posted though

Aren't there like 8 Arvus Lighters in the plastic box? Also, I'm not sure that I agree that Astartes are losing more than their share of matches. The Auxilia units definitely feel overtuned.

They’ve announced that box literally today, so he won’t have known about it for this video

Damn, yeah @mushymanUK is right. The original listing for Arvus Lighters was only for 2! Strange that they announced a pack of 8 this far after release

@@SalemtheAmateurwell the resin ones have been available for use in Aeronautica Imperialis for years, so they probably wanted to run down any leftover stock before announcing. A little bit scummy, but plastic Lighters are very welcome!
