I think at 3000 points you need a lot more line of sight blocking terrain or you end up picking up half your army turn 1. For the warmaster, you just need to think at 3000 points how are you dealing with big titans. Need large volume AP -1 shots and then volcano cannons.
I originally thought epic would re-release as a Tallarn box set and add infantry in later. Really happy to see Talllarn come to Legions. I'm working on Marines, but will jump at the chance to drop a Superheavy Dstachment of three Shadowswords in there. I run Termites in 28mm, so theyre a must-get, too. I'd like to see another infantry kit that has Breachers, even just for aesthetics of them jumping out of the Termites.
I absolutely would believe marketing department stepping on rules department is how u get 750pt warmasters, honestly the titans past reaver are clearly point costed on a curve, the psi titan being only 75pts more than the warlord is a similar problem and another case of its so obviously better than the 75 difference, like the 150pt difference for the warmaster.
On the point of reading the Horus Heresy and not knowing anything about 40k, that is how I was introduced to Warhammer. I picked up Horus Rising from the bookstore at random and super loved it. It wasn't until I finished the initial trilogy that I learned about 40k and when I looked into it, I was horrified. How did everything go so wrong? It got me hooked into the universe.
As for increasing it's point, maybe the way to go is decreasing the points of the other titans? Like a warlord for 525, reaver 375, warhounds something like 275. That might work, if not up the Warmaster 900.
Really interesting to hear the experience of a 3k game. Glad to hear it is not that much longer than lower points, while having a very different feel/considerations. For the new book, upset like the last one for how few new units are in there for the price. I think it’s too early in the life cycle for legion specific detachments, just not enough of a unit pool to really make them feel different.
For the algorithm. In regards to the titian, I don’t think they would points cost for sales this early in the games life. Tanking the entire game for one model would be counterproductive as they are trying (and in my case, very much succeeding), with selling loads of tiny toys. Victory has been elusive so far in my games so I have no successful advice to deal with it.
I think adding the primarchs would be another gateway to additional rules for legions and have some sort of unique model in a game where everything is simplified for good reason
I'm looking forward to the point when you guys realize that the warmaster might be good, but the true power of LI is in the infantry. It's not cheap to collect that much infantry, and it's definitely not fun to paint, but I don't think there's a single thing any army could do against 3000 points of infantry that isn't just also 3000 points of just infantry.
100% this. By at least 20%. The shadow swords and valors need targets. Not sarcastic. I want to get into this game to tabletop a ton of cool tanks knights, and some infantry, some titans. Rules as written are so heavily skewed towards infantry
It was brill! Very fun to use, destroyed two buildings full of marines!! And loads more! Opponent did get the engine kill in the end, def felt like a different game using it
Great podcast. I am quite interested to see how the new 'armoured push' scenario will play. Since there aren't objectives to capture it could change up the infantry focus.
I don't think the Warmaster was costed for Sales, I think it was costed so the Imperator comes in at 900 for 3k games. Warhounds are costed to keep them out of 1k games - but that means that at 1500 the Reavers win out and Warlords at 2000 Honestly think that the second Warhound should put the pair at 600 not 660 so at 2k you'd at least have a choice between the classic Epic Specials cards.
That’s my suspicion too - if ever the imperator was going to be released it would be for Li - and battleblings Warbreaker has proven there is a market for it

12 void shields on the warmaster is rubbish. That needs ti come down. Also unless they are made more expensive, you are never going to see the smaller titans. 100% want to see an FAQ nerfing the warmaster.
I'm really hoping that Auxillia gets more than Lemen Russ variants and some more Super Heavy Tanks. Especially with the Marines getting Sabres and already having bikes and land speeders, I'm very keen to see Auxillia get some Fast Attack, especially Roughriders. I'd also love to see some more time given to a variety of Legions, again, especially on the Loyalist side.
Conspiracy? 2500 event at WHW the guy who lost the match for 1st place lost to a warmaster. Proceeded to store post game and buy one and wave it at the guy who won. Maybe just ban them from your events. Also I think punisher will be 16” 6 dice 4+ rapid.
I want the Warmaster just because its a cool model. noted that its OP at 3K. what point range do you reckon it would suit? Would it be better in Titamdeath games?
Definitely more balanced in Titan death I reckon. Stuff has changed since this episode with new formations of legend and new units so it remains to be seen if it remains op (though points for points it’s still significantly better than any other unit). 3k it’s okay, but I’d avoid in 2500
Yep there it is! I will put this down to too much familiarity with Adeptus Titanicus - and too many damn weapon traits in legions ! 😂 thanks for letting me know!
two reaver titans with warp missiles has a high % chance to delete a warmaster titan in round 1 the introduction of neutron lasers will have an impact as well in dealing with all titans (solar aux have that on a tank, and the direwolf titan has a longer-range version) at first i had the same opinion that you have in regard to the warmaster titan, but having used it and fought against it, i do not think it is as dangerous, your opponent is putting a lot of points into the warmaster, and this probably means he will have an activation disadvantage (having an activation advantage has a very significant impact on the game) a warlord titan with macro gats in the arms and twin gats in the carapace will out range the warmaster titan primary weapons, if you can position outside the range of the warmaster you can deal a significant number of shots onto the warmaster short answer, if you KNOW your opponent is going to bring one, it is very easy to plan for it, (assuming you have the models in your collection), to plan for it and defeat it
Great response thank you! I think for tournament play it feels like you either need to take a warmaster or take everything possible that you will need to counter one if you play against one
I feel like this is a two edged sword, as when we've played with warhounds, they've been very underwhelming. So, on the one hand it's kind of neat to see a Titan be a true god machine on the battlefield, but on the other it shouldn't be at the cost of breaking the game.
@@Maximalfire I sort of understand why GW costed them the way they did, because they don't want to prohibit you from taking one at the game's recommended points limit. But it does also seem like a Warmaster should be a special event -- I liked the comparison you made of it being like Godzilla, it made me think of the old Steve Jackson game "Ogre."
Always looking to refine the podcast so thanks for the feedback! We need to tow a line between the RUclips audience who want immediate content against the podcast audience who want longer conversational episodes. Really appreciate the feedback though and it’s something we have already been looking at.

The nice thing about Tallarn is 100% Armored Vehicle Armies are totally legit for both sides!
Here for the LI stuff. Glory to the algorithm.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!

45:08 try to mention Goulash😅
Also, I can see myself taking the Leman Russ Annihilator if it has two shots -- like the Malcador lascannon "turret" weapon does.

Hopefully what has been teased isn’t 100% of the new units and we get some more details and reveals in future warcom articles
Irn Bru is beyond politics, it’s at a religious level of contention. In the grim dark future it could almost have its own legion.
😂
That's a great idea to do for a laugh. The lost legion of the Iron Bru-therhood😂

Warmaster should be 1200pts, it's deffo worth 2 warlords, and then only allowed in 4000pt games
Completely agree

There’s 21 pages of weapon and unit traits which is a lot by my old brain. Kudos to those people with better recall than me! 😂
Will we get legion fellblades in this expansion?
Would seem strange to not introduce marine super heavy tanks in an armoured engagement setting.
Nothings been confirmed yet - depends on if what has been teased is the full list of units. If it is then no.
Warmaster is that cost because they need the Imperator to come in at less than 933 pts
