The Getsuga Tenshou technique amplified by Ichigo's hollowfication was already evident way before Horn of Salvation. Back in the Arrancar Arc, whenever Masked Ichigo blasted a Getsuga Tenshou, both Grimmjow and Ulquiorra noticed how his attack resembles more of a hollow's Cero than a Shinigami attack. On the other hand, here's also one scene in the manga that foreshadowed Ichigo's true nature: Right before he became Dangai Ichigo, Fused Tensa Zangetsu said ""...This Tensa Zangetsu was originally you yourself..."

    • @pumkin610
      @pumkin610 2 года назад +27

I think ulquiorra says that his bankai getsuga is weak when he's not wearing his mask, he later says that ichigo's power seems like arrancar abilities but it simply is not, it's like he's saying ichigo's power pales in comparison to the power of a vasto lorde espada or something, that it's a pale imitation of arrancar power. That foreshadows his transformation into an actual hollow where he uses an actual cero.

Ichigo's ability to utilize Sonido, which allows him to cause his spiritual pressure to vanish in order to bypass an opponent's sensory ability, is a hollow skill that I haven't seen the Bleach community discuss.
edit: Ichigo used sonido in his vasto lorde form. As a result, Ulquiorra was able to tell him apart by using a flash step (which is silent but can be sensed) and a sonidoo ( which is loud but cannot be sensed). for those who were curious

But he mastered Shunpo/Flash step in like half a day and mastered Fullbring High Speed Movement after a few days, so he’s most likely using one or a combination of those consistently

Remember, when Ichigo went for Bankai training, he never had an Asauchi... rather, what he stabbed into the Tenshintai was a Spirit Weapon similar to what the Quincies use. It's no wonder that the Quincy spirit, Yhwach, as the one to manifest. In fact, thinking it through, I'd say that Ichigo's first 'Bankai' is more like a twisted version of Vollstandig taking influence from Zangetsu's power.
Looking at it further, I'd say that without an Asauchi, Zangetsu was never capable of manifesting through Shinigami power. Whenever his power was manifested it was always through the Hollow spectrum, with the mask and, later, the Resurrection. Yhwach can manifest because of Ichigo subconsciously relying on the use of his Quincy abilities.
I firmly believe that Ichigo has never driectly used his Shinigami abilities until he gets an actual Asauchi. At best, he's used a bit of the power that bled over to Yhwach and maybe a bit of residual Shinigami power in his Hollow state.

I'd argue that when he uses fullbring and later when he becomes a shinigami again; he begins to use his hollow powers because using fullbring required his badge which is like a substitute Asauchi; it's not as efficient to draw his shinigami powers out but it's a start. You can especially see it in the barbed shape of his bankai which resembles White's blade hands from everything but the rain.

@@nunorodrigues320 That' why I said that Ichigo's Quincy abilities are being influenced by Zangetsu. While he has a Spirit Weapon instead of a Zanpakuto, the fact that he does have Shinigami abilities, through Zangetsu, means that it's inevitable that at least some of that would bleed over. That's why, despite not having an actual Zanpakuto, the Spirit Weapon can function similar to one.
Especially when you take into account two other factoers: 1) Ichigo produces a LOT of his own Reiatsu so he can't really control it that well. 2) Ichigo doesn't know how to manipulate Reishii, so he has to use his own Reiatsu, which is only 1/4 Quincy, to get things done.

In my opinion Getsuga tenshou is technique unique to the Shiba clan. The condensing of one's spiritual energy sounds like a Shiba trademark as exemplified during the soul society arc where Ichigo and company learned from the Shiba clan how to condense and concentrate their spiritual energy into a ball. Another example is when Kukaku can condensed her spiritual energy into a punch to breakup ichigo and Ganju. My theory is that the Shiba clan can condense their spiritual energy and meld it with their elemental affinity to produce their own unique Getsuga tenshou (Isshin= fire/plasma, Kaien=water, Ganju=earth, etc). Ichigo on the other hand inherited her mom's elemental affinity (hollow trait and Quincy trait) both of which are just pure energy hence why there is no element present and is also the reason why he can fire it like a cero/quincy arrow.
On a side note, I found that the Shiba clan have some similarities with the Quincies as they seem to have a specialty on reishi manipulation/concentration and I found that the Final Getsuga Tenshou was eerily reminiscent to the Quincy's Letzt Stil. Another similarity I found is that according to the CFYOW novel the Shiba clan was also opposed to the sealing of the Soul King much like how Yhwach and the Quincies were against it. It can explain why the Shiba clan were treated as the black sheep of the 5 great noble houses and their subsequent removal of their noble status. Just my take and as always great video.

Honestly I think Ichigo could fully Hollowfy and not become a hollow himself. I think if he truly obtained bankai he would be the reverse of a soul reaper. So that means reverse colors his ausuchi would start in bankai and then downgrade to basic form. White means pure or basic could also mean purely basic which could tie into his pure instincts as a reverse version of a soul reaper. So he has no affinity because the hollow basically purifies then the Quincy takes over to shape it best it can which creates an arrow like shape.

Fun side thought, Getsuga Tenshô is a generic attack principle. The name and shape of the reiatsu wave may be Shiba specific. But when ichigo was training to rescue rukia, wasnt kisuke using the same basics ichigo described, to use Benihime's ranged attacks.
The other thought though is that what if Ichigos affinity is just Reishi in general because of his quincy blood but Ichigo is simply most familiar with manipulating Hollow reishi due to constant exposure.
I ask that as Quincy are usually compressing reishi to make their weapons and the bankai of ichigo was just more, "you're a Quincy, Ichi" foreshadowing..more than just the change of his clothes.

Ichigo has no affinity because a hollow is just that a human who lost their heart which means they lost their affinity to the element they best represent. So no matter what Ichigo does all he can think about is he needs the power to protect his friends and family there’s no affinity in that just pure energy that’s full of hollow reiatsu. Which the Quincy part gives him a few extra abilities in the process.

  • @primeroespadax
    @primeroespadax 2 года назад +8

When you have the base of it mixed up you can get to wildly different end points.
Ichigo's zanpakuto affinity is not hollowfication. The real difference between the vizards and Ichigo is that they don't recognize their hollow powers as their zanpakuto. When they taught Ichigo to subjugate his hollow, Ichigo ended up being alot like them, that is, having an incomplete and extremely limited form. Kubo confirmed that the Vizards could gain a ressureccion but I guess they'd need to accept their hollow powers as part of their zanpakuto to properly hollowfy and merge their powers like Ichigo did. Also Tousen used the name of his zanpakuto to enter ressureccion so he was able to merge his powers as well. The horn of salvation form is completely different from a shinigami hollow hybrid because Tensa Zangetsu only looked like that when the quincy portion was added so that appearance is due to quincy powers in the mix.
Anyways, Ichigo's zanpakuto affinity is amplification through compression, just like Isshin's. The difference is ofc application. Isshin's zanpakuto is not exactly a fire type but it is in a sense, he can ignite his compressed spirit energy but I guess like Kubo said, he doesn't really release it from the blade. Ichigo's bankai follows this affinity by not just compressing the reiatsu on his sword but all over his body. This highly dense reiatsu increases the speed and power of his attacks and also adds increased durability. His getsuga now has an increased factor because his spiritual pressure is already compressed then is absorbed and compressed even further on the sword to create a far more devastating attack we know as the black getsuga. Isshin's bankai might also have a similar effect considering a wound could prevent him from using his bankai. I wouldn't consider getsuga to be a kind of thing that is passed down per say. Think of it like Toshiro and Rukia's zanpakuto. They have very different powers but can both be considered ice types. Yh Rukia is temperature lowering but at face value it's an ice type. Rukia can't use guncho tsurara and Toshiro can't use hakuren, but they can both send a flash of ice to freeze something in place. You can think of getsuga like that block of ice. Ichigo is just a noob who hasn't gotten any special variations yet. All he can do is mix basic techniques that can individually be replicated. He hasn't yet produced his guncho tsurara or hakuren so to speak.
The final getsuga tensho is just a nutural technique that is a result of the compression affinity.
    Love your content bro 🙌

It felt a whole lot more demonic than I felt was warranted. It felt like Kubo was giving us a visual representation of Ginjo turning evil. Now that's something that didn't even cross my mind. For one I believed that Ginjo should have his bankai since he was shinigami substitute, but now that I think about it, it makes sense. Shinigami substitute. I always put more focus in the word "Shinigami" since he was doing the same thing as a shinigami (and the best example we had is Ichigo himself). But if we focus more on the "substitute" part, we cas see that it is someone who does the same job but isn't the same. As in "I do the job of a shinigami but I'm not one myself" type of thing. If this is how it's supposed to be interpreted then he isn't a shinigami, doesn't have any shinigami powers, doeasn't have an asauchi and therefore can't have a Bankai of his own. And that seems to coincide with the fact that he was never stated to be a shinigami and while he was shown to wear shinigami clothes, that doesn't mean anything. Orihime, Chad and even Uryu (enemy and oposite of a shinigami) were wearing those clothes as well.

@@luisz0339 No, the way Quincy's create weapons and projectiles is by absorbing the reishi around them and using it with their energy. Shinigami materialize reishi from their own souls into their Zanpakuto. Quincy = Outward, Shinigami = Inward. This was in chapter 49. And in chapter 161, Ichigo explains that at the moment of an attack, his Zanpakuto consumes his reiatsu and fires a super high concentration of reiatsu from the tip of his blade. Then the attack is magnified and discharged. That is what the Getsuga Tensho is. Again, Shinigami = Inward.

    • @martincibik3997
      @martincibik3997 2 года назад +2

@@Grognack that could be simply explained. If ichigo is quincy (and not even pure-blood) that never trained his quincy abilities, then he isn't able to use all his quincy powers, such as reishi enslavement and absorbtion. So he literally charges up some reiatsu (he emits/expels some reiatsu to his surroundings) for his blade to absorb and shoots it as an amplified swing/projectile.
After all if Getsuga Tenshou is a technique that absorbes the "affinity" of your abilities, then it makes sense for it to absorb his quincy powers since in the begining ichigo didn't use almost any shinigami abilities.

  • @ultimateshadeofwar
    @ultimateshadeofwar 2 года назад +9

I will argue all of this information was always there, it's one of the things that lead me to come to the conclusion that and that proves more the point that Ichigo was never lied by either of his spirits like he claim on the chapter "The Blade is Me", what did Ichigo told Byakuya Zangetsu ability is? Well you said it "At the moment of the attack it *consumes my Reiyoku* and fires a super high concentration of Reiatsu from the tip of my blade". Note the words i remarked, what was it that Hollows that consume their families search after to try to fill the holes that their heart left? That's right people with strong Reiyoku which produce strong Reiatsu. And it gets even more deeper Ulquiora compares Ichigo's Getsuga Tenshou with the Cero, i beat that the true nature of the Getsuga Tenshou is a family technique which adapts to the natural afinity of the user, Isshin uses fire, for Ichigo is pure Reiatsu because of the hollow nature.
And it gets more interesting, when you take that perspective and put this little phrases also into context said by both Zangetsu. Old Man Zangetsu tell Ichigo at the beginning of his Bankai training that "Only one of them(Multiple Zanpakutou's that appear) is the real me(Zangetsu). I(Yhwach) can only be defeated by that sword(True Zangetsu)" along with the phrase of White Zangetsu "You fight with your head! You try to defeat your enemy with reason! *But how can you slay with a sheathed sword?* ". This 2 phrases right here, pointed out the truth behind Ichigo's Bankai that we didn't see and that Kubo had to come out and said it himself... What else could be hidden that we hadn't seen? There are so many little hints, like i pointed out.
For example, something that i believe, it's that Zangetsu, doesn't have an ability beyond amplyfing the strength of Ichigo's Reiatsu, it's just give him more power. Why? First the poem that Ichigo has regarding how before he obtain Shinigami powers, he desire for "A blade *strong enough to break fate* ". He didn't desire for anything else, or overly complicated, and Yhwach said that Ichigo has changed fate multiple times with just his power, so it can't be the power to defy fate, because then Ichigo could have undo his loses, no, it's raw power, it's the raw power that he keep gaining, because sometimes, you don't need this overrefine or plan thing to succeed, you just need enough determination and willpower to achieve that, and Ichigo just keep on trying, keep on growing until he adquire the power to do it.
It just fits the kind of punk that Ichigo is, breaking fate through raw power and a blade that gives him even more. And heck, it could be that the final swing, because it was with an unsheathed Tensa Zangetsu was even stronger then the Getsuga Tenshou we saw Ichigo land on Yhwach... And all because Yhwach just keep trying to destroy Tensa Zangetsu not realizing that Ichigo wasn't going for the kill, but his defeat with a sheathed blade, and he was the one to unsheathed it and seal his death.

I know I left another comment, but I wanted to putt his separately...
Essentially, based on what you're saying there are 3 different things:
Affinity - The inherent nature of a Zanpakuto's manifest abilities
Ability - The individual nature of a Zanpakuto and its overall capabilities, unique to an individual.
Technique - An ability an Zanpakuto can use, so long as it's Affinity and/or Ability allows it.
So, Isshin's Zanpakuto Affinity is Reishii/Reiatsu compression, its Ability is fire manipulation compression, and a technique it can use is the Getsuga Tenshou, though one mixed with fire.
Ichigo's Zanpakuto Affinity is Reishii/Reiatsu compression, its Ability is Hollowfication/Resurection, and a technique it can use is the Getsuga Tenshou, though one comprised of Hollow Reiastu as well as Shinigami Reiatsu.
However, in Ichigo's case, he also has a separate source of power through his Quincy manifestation, (The Hollow/Shinigami powers were merged, as stated in the manga), which he later forges alongside Zangestu to form his true Shikai/Bankai.
This means that Ichigo's second Zanpakuto becomes thus: Afiinity is Reishii/Reiatsu compression, its Ability is Quincyfication/Vollstandig, and a technique it can use is the Getsuga Tenshou though one comprised of his Quincy Reiatsu and his Shinigami Reiatsu. (Getsuga Jushijo is the combination of these two conflicting Getsugas.)
This means that, likely, his original Bankai might actually be the Resurrection form we see when fighting Ulquiorra, because he doesn't have an Asauchi to manifest that power through. That's why Horn of Salvation, later on, doesn't need to be a full-on Resurrection. And, since he now has an actual Zanpakuto, the manifestation of his 'true' Bankai is the blade that combines all aspects of his power.
So, likely, his 'true' Bankai is simply getting access to all power of a Resurrection and a Vollstandig, and all the implications that carries with it.

I think you’re half right. After he gained his true powers, you hear Ichibei say that Ichigo is now a “true” Shinigami. This suggest that Ichigo was never a Shinigami to begin with - in-fact I think Zangetsu was never a Zanpakutō at all, instead he was imitating a Zanpakutō. He is the main source of his Hollow powers, just like the old man is the source of his Quincy powers. What I’m saying is that “Shinigami” power he was using was just pure Hollow power, so he was never lying when he said he was Zangetsu. This is proven when the old man said it was always the hollow that helped him, and that he himself never helped him except on a few occasions (vs Zaraki, and vs Yhwach).
It’s also a known fact that Shinigmai aren’t “born” but instead made. This ultimately depends on how much spiritual power they have. So enough spiritual power = can become Shinigami. Isshin was a Shiba, and thus had an insane amount of spiritual power (which is why he could become a Shinigami in the first place). Ichigo inherited that same spiritual power and that mixed with his hollow powers - creating that buffed hollow we see today known as “Zangetsu”. The old man was also buffed by this Spiritual power because it was stated that Him and the hollow share the same body (which essentially just means that they are both apart of Ichigo’s spiritual power - think of it like this: Ichigo’s power is a spectrum one side is full hollow and one side is full Quincy. The old man blocked most of this spectrum off because he didn’t want Ichigo using it)
Ichigo was never a Shinigami because he had no Asauchi (which is another requirement needed to become a Shinigami), he was only a true shinigmai when he absorbed Rukia’s powers (and of course at the end of the series) and her Zanpakutō in the process. Zangetsu manifested his powers through those “Shikai” and “Bankai” we see throughout most of the story. He’s able to do this due to the memories within his spiritual power from his Shiba ancestors. Thing is, this was done with only a small portion of his power (the part the old man couldn’t hold back) which is very impressive.
When “Zangetsu” is reforged with an actual asauchi, Ichigo says “i’m sure you are both Zangetsu” what he really means is “i’m making you both Zangetsu”. Basically, the whole spectrum of his power is used to remake his Zanpakutō, essentially making the old man and white both Zangetsu in the process instead of one just being Zangetsu. Both powers then come to balance with each other, but if the one of them were to be disturbed, then that power will be the one expressed the most (HOS vs Yhwach).
Zangetsu essentially has dual abilities that oppose each other. In Shikai, these opposing abilities are balanced (neutral), but can be disturbed (which is most likely the Shikai’s ability). And finally, in Bankai, these abilities are combined completely and Ichigo’s power are fully expressed.
This is my interpretation of it so I may be wrong.

There is but one canon instance in which a zanpakutō is "shared" between two shinigami: Kaname Tōsen's Suzumushi. In the novels, it's stated that the zanpakutō of Kaname's friend, Kakyo, was named Suzumushi. And we know that Kaname took Kakyo's blade from her coffin after Tokinada killed her and used it as his own zanpakutō. When a shinigami dies, their zanpakutō dies with them. But even so, Kaname managed to gain acess to his late friend's zanpakutō, with not only its original name, but it's abilities to a degree, as seen with Suzumushi Nishiki: Benihiko, while also adding his own power and personality to the blade. Why that happened isn't clear, there are some theories about, but it's a very interesting case. One that I think even deserves to be explored in it's own video

Ichigos soul plane/inner world allows him to combine quincy and hollow reiatsu without destroying the parts of the sum.
His new bankai combines all three reiatsu types into one blade while his hos form is ichigo finally being the "king" zangetsu believed he should be. Ichigo accepting that the hollow is him along with old man zangetsu as well.
I think that's ichigos special ability, to combine hollow and quincy power without it destroying both spirits and him being able to not only use those powers but to compress those powers in his bankai and unleash massive amounts of power and speed, speed so quick one wouldn't be able to counter it probably even with the almighty, which is likely why yhwach didn't take a split second to snap it, he knew ichigo was far more dangerous in that form especially with him properly using zangetsu (using the full extent of his hollow power while being under his own minds control). Imagine if ichigo had time to train with his bankai? Or if he used the final getsuga tenshou again? His new bankai is basically just like using the fgt since he's combining all of his reiatsu into one, the only difference is his body isn't merged with his sword, but he doesn't need to use that technique now since his power is much greater, omz is not holding back his power anymore and hollow ichigo has accepted ichigo as the king of their world and ichigo has accepted them both as he himself which means all he needs now is training to master drawing out the hollow power whenever he wants it and also he could remaster his fullbring to amp himself even further, if he used fullbring to bring out the maximum potential of both zangetsus, who knows how powerful he could be.
Also, I think there is much he could learn from both hollow zan and quincy zan, combining sklaverei with gran rey getsuga could be a massive attack, or combining blut arterie with hollow regeneration so he wouldn't have to use vene to protect himself while enhancing his physical strength and attacks. There's so much ichigo could theoretically do, I've even wondered if his inner yhwach had a piece of the originals almighty, ichigo might have higher potential than prime soul king. Anyone else agree?

Another thing I should bring up is that ichigo did the same thing when he combined gran rey cero with getsuga tenshou, ordinarily that would seem impossible, it surprised even yhwach, but ichigo did it on the fly. @@Oromanowarful I think they should of emphasized more on his hollow honestly. I think that full bring should’ve strengthened white. So one very overlooked part (in my opinion) of your assessment of Ichigo is how/why he has the certain powers he has. In the Seretei, every Shinigami is unique because they receive powers/zanpakuto directly from the swords crafted by Oetsu (the creator of the Zanpakuto from the zero division). That is why they have unique powers - they are given or earned unique weapons as shinigami. Ichigo did not earn his unique weapon in the same way - his Shinigami powers were directly inherited from Isshin which is why he obtained essentially the exact same techniques (while White is suppressed anyway). While Isshin's affinity is clearly fire, I don't think Ichigo truly has an affinity in the same regards because he's not really using Shinigami powers - he's immitating them (as Old Man Zangetsu explained, he never really wanted him to be a shinigami from fear of having to kill him). I think he's using Quincy powers under the guise of shinigami powers. While the basic technique of absorbing reshi is common with Quincy, I don't think Ichigo can grasp that he's using this technique when he fires his Getsuga Tensho. I think he's directly absorbing his own energy (because he has so GD much of it) like Ishida showed was possible in the seretei and firing the slash that way. Isshin's getsuga is fire because he draws in his own fire affinity to produce the slash, Ichigo is copying that technique with no affinity to it so he is just absorbing raw/unaffiliated power. This to me is more obvious at the very beginning of his powers because his slash was always blue - the same color as Ishida's arrows. Once White's powers grew and started to "corrupt" the Quincy powers is when the color starts to change to the red/black Getsuga.

At the part you mentioned the Bankai training you had me. Great video man
    Edited brainfart:
I think if Ichigo's afinity pr ability was something like "resonance" it would make a lot of sense in my head the way he can combine his different powers, his different soul "shards" in one. In that way, his first Bankai simply making him faster, given it is so influenced by his quincy powers, plus his stupid durability and stamina, would be his resonance enhancing his shinigami powers with quincy powers (quincies were shown as very fast and durable with their abilities, techniques and simply blood). His hollowfication and the hollow atribute he gives his techniques making them all the more destructive, enhancing regeneration, etc... would be the resonance enabling him to upgrade his shinigami powers by mixing then with his hollow. His grand ray getsuga and other "awakened" techniques are all being maxed out now that he's in resonance with all of his soul.
Again I do not knoe if this would be realy a technique, but I'd argue that knowing your soul, and that all parts of it are very distinct from eachother while giving you enlightenment, actually being able to combine those natures could be an ability as I imagine it is hard to do.
It's a far stretch but maybe something here will be useful or give you ideas, just as your theories open doors to speculation for all of us

Rebirth, another thing to go along with your theory is looking at how fullbring powers come into existence. Wasn't it because one or both of their parents were attacked by hollows before they were born? That reishi was then passed down into the kid and mixing with their own to become the fullbring.

You know for the longest time I was trying to rationalize Ichigo's ability in my head and I came to the conclusion that his Zanpakuto affinity was something related to spirit energy control seeming how all of his abilities seemed to revolve around making different use of it. For example, his getsuga can be discharged as a wave, a beam or even wrapped around his blade for stronger swings. Another example was his OG bankai how the cloak was an indicator of his spirit energy and how the smaller size made him faster. Obviously, It wasn't a perfect theory but it was what made the most sense to me at the time. However, hollowfication being the affinity makes SO much more sense. You have done a great service Professor Rebirth.

Actually there is a possibility, that Ichigo had obtained his bankai only in Soul KIng Palace. What he was using through the majority of the manha is simply arrankar's Reserrucion. Come to thing of it: in arrankar ark his reiatsu was twice called being identical to that of an Espada, when he is using "bankai" and hollofication at the same time. The stated ability of Black Tensa Zangetsu is stated to be compressing all of his reiatsu in a small blade, making it extremely dense. That is also a quality of an arrankar's Resurrecion. When Ichigo is in this state, inner Yhwach is younger as if his control over Ichigo's power is "not mature" or not as great, because Ichigo's hollow powers are dominating. And the last and most important: When Ichigo mastered Fullbring, which is also a hollow-based power, his Tensa Zangetsu covers his body completely, from neck to the tips of his fingers and his sword looks almost the same as original White's blade-arms. It appears to be, that Fullbring made 'bankai' even more hollow-like.
Why the only thing Black Tensa Zangetsu is doing is compressing his reiatsu? It's simple. This form was assigned with the wrong name. It's neither bankai, nor Tensa Zangetsu. It's something entirely different. So that's why Black Blade appears to be so simple. It has to have another name connected to it's actual powers.
As for other forms we know of:
    1. "True Zangetsu" - his classical shikai. It's the combination of all Ichigo's powers(Hollow, Quincy, Shinigami and Fullbring) in one blade, as Yhwach and White had one body.
    2. Dual Zangetsu - this is Ichigo's powers, when his Quincy and Hollow powers are separated from one another. One residing in "the blade", another - in "the scabbard". Most likely both this swords have a portion of Ichigo's shinigami powers in them. And Fullbring is manifested via his white cross-like armor.
    3. Black or "old" Tensa Zangetsu - appears to be his Ressurection, with Mask and Berserker Form intended to be it's integral parts.
    4. Mugetsu is likely to be some sort of Resurrecion Segunda Etapa, with , Shinigami, Quincy and Fullbring powers mixed into something new, similar to Yhwach's darkness that he used against Ichigo.
    5. Fullbring is the simpliest, it's simply his Fullbring armor - vestige for it's ability which is yet unknown.
    6. True Tensa Zangetsu - is the one and only true bankai. It looks as if it's really just buffed version of his True Shikai, which is a central piece of the new blade with white coating representing it's sheath as it's cutting edge. Echoes with words that White told Ichigo "How can you slay with a sheathed sword?" (apparantly quite good) It looks and likely functions as ten times buffed True Zangetsu, granting Ichigo insane penetration power and boost to all of his physical abilities. But the main ability of both Zangetsu and Tensa is also yet unknown. I believe it is connected to Ichigo's desire to have "Power to shatter fate", which is stated in chapter 205.5
We should be supporting Bleach so Mr. Kubo would have enough motivation to continue draw Bleach, and give us new info on Ichigo's and other character's powers and abilities.

I was always under the impression that until Ichigo gets an Asauchi and White and Old Man Zangetsu both become his blade, Ichigo's powers AFTER having Rukia's powers removed by Byakuya and making him lose all his powers, his next state isn't Shikai/Bankai but is instead Ressureccion. That's why Ichigo's default blade is so different from normal Shinigami. Because its more like that of an Arrancar such as Nnoitra who's base weapon isn't a sword. This is backed up by Tiers comments when he's fighting Grimmjow that "It's like 2 Arrancar fighting each other". I always worked under the assumption that the reason his "Bankai" training was done by Old Man Zangetsu and not white. Because he already has the capacity for Ressureccion, but is being repressed by Old Man Zangetsu. We never hear about Arrancar having to train to unlock Ressureccion as all its doing is taking the power stored in their soul and unleashing it from the sword. This would be why he physically transforms instead of gaining a huge weapon like all the other Bankai. The reason Ichigo LOOKS like a Shinigami is because his Hollow and Shinigami powers are fused so although his powers are that of a Hollow, it is also his Shinigami powers.
Theoretically Ichigo could use Getsuga Tensho because its a Reishi/Reiatsu attack. Ichigo being part Quincy means he can manipulate Reishi very well but he's been shown to be bad at it in most cases. It's probably easier for Ichigo to use his powers if he thinks they are techniques rather than manipulating Spirit Energy.

Jokes aside, this is a really well analyzed rationale on explaining Ichigo's abilities.

If you look at his regeneration it's shown as Blue Raishi but the hollow powers are Dark in Colour, Ulquiora cant repair internal organs but Ichigo can, i believe this is a combination of the Gathering from his Quincy powers and the healing of his Hollow powers, His Zanpacto in the end is made of both the Old Man and White, he should be able to combine the powers of the Quincy with his Shinigami set in the same manor

But In trying to figure ichigo's powers and where exactly they come from, I've been thinking more and more about the idea that he gets all of his powers from Misaki and none from Isshin.
We know Shiro is a combination of equal parts of shinigami and Hollow, and of course misaki is at Quincy. But Isshin lost his shinigami powers and presumably conceived Ichigo through the special gigai he got from Kisuke, so how would Isshin pass anything on to Ichigo?
This would also make sense of the fact that ichigo's shinigami & hollow powers are inseparable, because they all come from Shiro, via Misaki
    What do you guys think?

We know ichigo's version of Getsuga Tenshou (the blue energy version) is his own spiritual pressure. It's the raw technique without adding your own Zanpakuto's affinity to it. After ichigo learned bankai and his getsuga started to become black, he always called it "White's Technique." Like the black Getsuga Tenshou is White's power. It makes sense since the Black Getsuga Tenshou would literally just be Getsuga Tenshou + Hollow affinity.

I would also say another instance of Ichigo applying his hollowfication ability in his technique is when he fires off his Getsugas in the Bankai state pre-TYBW. Ulquiorra when he used his Resurrection and Segunda Etapa stated Ichigo's Bankai Getsuga was like a Cero and demonstrated with Cero Oscuras. When Ichigo got his first beatdown from Grimmjow and caught him by surprised with the Black Getsuga, Ichigo internally referred to the Black Getsuga as White's technique, furth evidence of the true Soul Reaper powers of Ichigo to be Hollowfication. I would also say the Bankai and Shikai he had pre-TYBW as they weren't made from an Asauchi were actually simulacrums and representations of Ichigo's Quincy powers with only a bit of his shinigami powers were barely mixed in to give the look of Ichigo being a Soul Reaper due to Old Man Zangetsu suppressing White. To further support your evidence of White being present for Ichigo's Bankai training, if you rewind to the battle with Kenpachi and White tells Old Man Zangetsu to train Ichigo well, White is dissolving and being absorbed into the Old Man, much like how a Quincy breaks down, dissolves, and absorbs Reishi. Also when Ebern and Quilge both fail to steal Ichigo's Bankai, it's because of 2 reasons. 1 is stated by Ywhach when Quilge's Jail doesn't work on Ichigo, that Quilge's Jail is not meant to trap Quincies. With Old Man Zangetsu as the center of Ichigo's powers at that time, Ichigo could be considered more Quincy than Soul Reaper. Another reason is the true nature of Ichigo's Soul Reaper powers being Hollowfication. It's stated later on when Kisuke devised a way to get the stolen Bankai's back that Quincy Reiatsu is incompatible with Hollow Reiatsu which is why they couldn't steal Arrancar Resurrections. With Ichigo's Soul Reaper true powers being hollow based, they couldn't steal his Bankai anyway. But that's how I see it.

I think the fact that Ichigo’s zanpakuto is a dual zanpakuto that signifies that his Quincy powers are also a part of his zanpakuto and therefore its ability is being able to use hollow and Quincy abilities in shikai and the ability to fuse them together in bankai. For example in shikai he can use gran ray getsuga ( and theoretically licht reigen getsuga if he learns Quincy abilities), and then in bankai he would be able to use something like heilig cero once he learns more.

I wouldn't say it was inauthentic but rather that it was imbalanced. It relied heavily on his quincy power rather than his hollowified shinigami powers. So he ends up increasing his speed and output but it's not balanced so the output is less than it would otherwise be because he's restraining an aspect of his power. Even when he hollowfies, it's merely the mask. The top layer of his power. Which was kind of hinted at in the fulbring arc. That his inner power was vastly different than what ichigo displays

Also, I don't think it's 'hollowification', I think his power is more conceptual, Gin was great example of a conceptual power, yes his 'power' at the time was a poison, but he always could've been hiding other things, his 'concept' of his zanpakuto was a poisoned fang in the end, it was focused around the ability to reach any foe, and then defeat them internally.
For ichigo, zangetsu, or moon cutting blade, the idea in the end, white constantly hints at it, he's the fang chasing the king in an attempt to overcome them, ichigo consistently in story is seen as the one to bring down 'kings' or gods, even when it came to the Soul King itself, what if this wasn't Juha Bach's inclination, but White's?

So to add to this I add the basis of Quincy, Shinigami, Hollow and Human. We forget the most important aspect of Ichigo is his humanity.
Quincy have the highest affinity for reishi. Allowing them to deconstruct and reconstruct reishi at will. Yet Quincy lack reiastu or spiritual pressure. Think of it like accumulation or large amounts of power, but the release is limited. As such they choose arrows long range piercing is proof of this. Shooting hundreds and thousands, but the release is limited.
Shinigami have the highest affinity for reiastu. They can unleash incredible degrees of pressure. Compressing reishi so much the ethereal manifests as material. This is what made Shinigami formidable. Yet their weakness
is instability. Once they reduce reiastu what was created ceases to be. So the Asauchi was developed. Allowing one too channel all their excessive pressure into one desire. Now this is my head canon in which I believe. Shinkai represents ideals of character. A weapon that manifests affinity suited only to the desire of its character. This is why most of the time no two Asauchi are alike. Then the Bankai this represents the truth of ones desire. Often why Bankai is capable of evolving. Cause truth isn't simple like ideals. You can add to truth and still be true. Proof in this is Renji and Mayuri. Renji needed truth for the sake of his survival and for Rukia. So ZabImaru Rewarded him with it. Not the whole truth because ideals still clouded Renji. Whilst Mayuri ideals was grander than his truth. Mayuri truth is toxic and immature traits needed for a mad scientist. His perfection speech truly speaks to this. He enjoys being immature and his toxicity comes from his views that everything can be better. Then unique cases like Byakuya whose ideals and truth is one and the same. Zaraki who never cared about ideals and truth.
Hollows these are beings that amass reishi to enhance their beings. The ideal of hollowification is absorb reishi endlessly, but at the cost of ones sanity. They become monstrous or beastial in nature. A body that can withstand the accumulation. Yet again never forget the cost of sanity. Arranchar are those who rebuilt their sanity from their instincts. Aizen taught them to compress their excess into self made zanpakuto. This allows them to keep their sanity. Ulqurriora healing capabilities was indeed the greatest but it was limited by his desire. Ulqurriora only believed what he could see in his eyes. What his eyes can't see simply doesn't exist. So if his organs were gone then he is dead. Ulqurriora could have lived, but he had no desire. Hence why white forced Ichigo to live by consuming him.
With all of this known it shows why Ichigo is so strong and flawed. Being raised human was Ichigo greatest power. Humans aren't confined to singular ideals and truth. We can have multiple and they can conflict or fortify one another. So Ichigo Zangestu purpose was solution. The solution for battle, solution for truth, solution for ideals, solution for survival. Yet solution is bound to the concept of problem. Hence why Ichigo is that.wild card that can over power most. The term tensai or heavenly chain is to be bounded.
Quincy accumulate reishi from internal and external, reinforce his being with hollowification to handle it. shinigami compress all that power to manifest. Ichigo strength and flaw is his simplicity. Ichigo Bankai has always been solution by incorporating all his traits into a single simplistic desire. Hence why Old man Zangestu didn't want Ichigo solution to be limited by shinigami. White didn't want Ichigo solution to be others. White wanted Ichigo to be his own solution. Yet time and time again White saw Ichigo trying to be the solution for others. Hence the final getsuga tensho made them both so miserable. Ichigo despite having the power of solution never solved his own problems. Ichigo ran a way from his truth and ideals to solve others issues. In hopes can be fulfilled. Hence why Aizen power had little sway over Ichigo. You can't hypnotize a solution only direct it.
Ichigo Bankai was after he had formed an Asauchi. As such Ichigo could finally craft his own solution. Yet yhwach ability of Almighty is simple. Awareness of possibility allows one to see the steps needed to take towards a solution. Yhwach is a version of Ichigo that used his power only to serve himself. Ichigo solved the problems of others he solved the problems of only himself

I don't think we know his bankai at all, and all we have is his shikai (which is easily confused for a bankai in terms of power). I like the hollowification idea as well, just not sure it's his bankai either. Not only does this make so much sense, it also potentially explains a key moment in the manga so many of us still question: 'What happened to Ichigo's Bankai at the end of the final fight?'
If your theory is correct, and I believe it is, then Ichigo's true shikai release, Horn of Salvation, is Ichigo adopting his hollow powers; hollowfying. Since Bankai is a more grand, large scale version of shikai, it stands to reason that Tensa Zangetsu, would not only be a larger, stronger blade like we see, but Ichigo's ability to hollowfy would also extend to his Zanpakuto. I believe that's what the outer shell is; a hollow mask/horn for his blade (or a hollowfyed sheath, either or). True Tensa Zangetsu, has been seen in the franchise already during Ichigo's Dangai training. His true form is being hollowfyed.
Anyway, my point is, we see what happens when the captains hollowfy to get their Bankai back. It stops the Quincy from being able to use them; actually injuring Cang Du in the process. This would be because of the Hollow/Quincy Reiatsu dynamic; poisonous to each other.
So, if Ichigo's Bankai is hollowfyed, then it makes sense that it could cut down and kill Ywach. Especially with Ichigo's ability being to add hollow Reiatsu into his attacks. Even with the Soul King absorbed, and the Almighty at play, Ywach is still a Quincy at his core, and the Reiatsu of a Hollow would be one of the only things truly able to kill him.

I think something that should be added to the conversation is the fact that "White" may not be able to be considered a true hollow. Its been a while since i've read the chapters that talk about white's origin so this is just a theory based on memory from a few years ago. Some points about white's nature that I think should be considered from the chapters that talk about his origin.
    - It is stated that White is actually a hollowfied shinigami
-White is stated to fight like a shinigami
-White has black armor but a white interior (the black armor being a unique characteristic that I've never seen in any other bleach species)
    - White's hollow "hole" is not hollow but is filled with a heart (presumably the heart of the shinigami aizen used to make this experiment)
-White's hollowfication is stated to be a failure and not "complete"
With all of this taken in to consideration, I believe white to be his own species, neither hollow or shingami but, something more along the lines of a "shinihollow" or a "Hollowgami". Now take this info and apply it to the rest of the context of the story. This would mean that the shinigami powers that Ichigo inherited may not be soley from Isshin, his father, but also from the shinigami that aizen experimented on. And these would not be purely shinigami powers but more so hollowgami powers.
The fact that Ichigo has two different pools to draw from when tapping into shinigami powers may also be the reason why his initial zanpakto was double sized like a double-stuffed oreo. This could also be the reason why his zanpakto could never revert from its shikai state as at this point it would not even be able to be considered a zanpakto but something more like a "hollow-pakto" (lol. excuse my making up of words). It wouldn't be to able revert because, unlike the visoreds, Ichigo's powers aren't an addition of hollow powers to soul reaper powers but, more so a splicing of the two and once transformed/spliced, cannot bet separated.
Another point. I find it interesting that the organ that was blown out of Ichigo's chest was his heart, the same organ that filled White's hollow hole. Also, species in bleach are named quite literally. The visoreds are called that because the have visors/masks. Shinigami are quite literally "death gods" or soul reapers. Hollows have hollow holes. (Quincies, I guess have something to do with angels but that takes a more in depth convo.)
Just a few other things I find interesting.
-A symbol tied to ichigo's hollowpakto is a chain and i forgot what its called but when ichigo was first going to be turned into a hollow, there was a chain connected to his chest that would devour itself until it became a hollow hole?( i hope i'm rmembering that correctly).
-Chain imagery is also tied to hell, so is there a link between hollows and hell. (the seperate worlds, hueco mundo, soul society, earth and hell are stated canonically to once be part of the same realm so there may be some tie.)
-All forms of ichigo's hollow manifestations, whether they be his mask or a full body cast, seem to cover his body with one exception. When Ichigo goes pseudo-vasto lorde form, we see him consumed by his red-black reiatsu. You will usually see some type eye behind a hollows mask whether it be just a red light or an actual eye but, in the case of ichigo's vasto lorde form, we see nothing inside. Even when the mask opens its mouth and roars the mask is empty and the mask is less like a mask and more like a helmet. This form is truly "Hollow"
    - In the vasto lorde form, we see ichigo do something that I haven't seen any other character do and that is summon his zanpakto to his hand. The sword literally jumps or is pulled from the ground to his hand (take not of ulquiora's wtf reaction to this feat. Clearly not normal)
-Ichigo is stated to be dead by ulquiora and even asks the body who is he as if it was not ichigo. (Zombie ichigo)
-During this time of the show, remember that the big thing with ulquiora was his existential questions to orihime about what a soul was and what was a heart.
    - Although ichigos heart was blown out of his chest, we can hear a heart beating as orihime calls to him. Who's heart was that?
    - The regeneration of ichigo's heart looks less like regeneration and more like he summons a new heart out of thin air.
-Ichigo seems to have two forms of his reiatsu. A blue that is seen when he uses a regular getsuga (quincy reiatsu im guessing) and a blackish red (hollowgami im guessing)
Thats about all I got for now. I would really like to see and now about the shinigami that white used to be and his powers and abilities and to figure out if they have anything to do with the red hair and tribal markings on the body of ichigo's vasto lorde form and the summoning of a new heart. And what is that black armor?

bro I love how you analyze the shit out of that, also another thing to add to it they couldn't steal ichigos bankai, could it be because of his true power being the hollow in him? because yuha was strong enough to take yamas bankai but had to break ichigos

Great video man, it all made sense to me, I always saw getsuga tensho as a specific type of ranged attack especially since his dad used it, and could teach it to ichigo, basically like you said a type of attack and fighting style that allows them to extend their range and do damage to their opponent without being in physical contact with them, and his dad using fire, ichigo having hollow powers, remember ichigo was seen as a perfectly suitable replacement for the soul king should they need him there to stabilize the three worlds and reality, the soul king was seen as a very powerful being that had a mix of all the powers of the bleach world, so if ichigo is like the soul king then that means he has all the abilities of the different races as well. Now how he chooses to mix those together we don’t know everything yet, but I can’t wait to see how they flush out all his powers, especially now as ichigo is grown. Honestly I want to see ichigo get dominated, I want to see him get stomped so bad that he has to train with everything he has, not power increase but ability increase technique increase, forcing him to learn absolutely every power he has and every power combo he is capable of to come out on top, we know he is powerful and I think ichigo tends to rely on his raw strength a little too much, we also know that in that world if power levels rise too high it threatens to destroy worlds. So I want to see ichigo find a way around that limitation, a way to increase his power without destroying reality but also giving himself every advantage would be for him to learn every mix and combo of his hybrid powers to the fullest extent, that’s what I hope we get to see in the future.

Interesting video but just a small correction. Misaki and White's powers didn't mix and blend together. They may have been in the same body, but Hollows and their techniques/reiatsu is poisonous to Quincy's, hence why they used Hollowfying tablets to alter their reiatsu, making their stolen Bankai unusable by the Wandenereich. Instead his Shinigami and Hollow powers fused.
Also Isshin and Masaki met after Isshins fight with White, where she helps save him but almost dies in the process. Isshin has to stay by her side constantly, using his reiatsu to stop White's from killing Masaki.

Getsuatensu is a sword technique probably passed down through ishins family. That's why he knew of the final getsugatenshu

Ichigo's true bankai is most likely a fusion in which his physical blade will vanish. Like the Espadas when they transformed. His quincy powers will make an energy blade. He will most likely be able to combine all hollow abilities with quincy abilities. Hollows are merely full powered soul reapers which is why aizen said a soul reaper must become a hollow to become strong.
