His wish to protect Ichigo is a parallel to Ichigo wanting to protect others. No wonder he kept Ichigo's true powers hidden only to let him unlock them when the true danger emerged. Either way Ichigo's epic power and hybrid heritage is both a blessing and a curse. It allows him to save the worlds yet it nearly contributed to him becoming a mindless battery forever drained of his power. Good thing certain things happened the way they did in the final battle with Yhwach.

Yeah to me they 2 (quincy zangetsu and arrancar zangetsu) are to sides of the protection mentality of Ichigo, the quincy zangetsu try to make Ichigo rely more on him, making Ichigo weaker, and the hollow zangetsu want Ichigo to fight without showing compassion from whoever try to stop him.
@@gabrielrasilva I think its a result limiting his power after the death of his mother made him forgot who he really was.
I find the end result ironic in so many ways. Yhwach ended up protecting ichigo by losing that fight, whether he intended to or not, much like how Old man Zangetsu tried to protect ichigo throughout the series.
@@verydoge1847 ishida also has same character design as young yhwach and young zangetsu. And he recovered his power same as ichigo. I have a theory Ishida was his bankai.
Kubo confirmed that the black spot is Ichibe's doing. He blacked out Ywach's name so none can speak it. Fun fact, in the anime the distorted name the old man spoke sounded really similar to You-Ha-Bach.
Just realized that Ichigo and Zaraki kind of switch places in TYBW. Zaraki becomes closer to his zanpakto whereas Ichigo starts to stand on his own

Indeed. My favorite was introducing the Shinigami as antagonists. This becomes important when we find out their ancestors were usurpers whose greedy need to dictate the way things should be had wide ranging, bloody consequences.

Imagine if Ichigo was able to hear OMZ’s true name: Yhwach. A Quincy invading the Soul Society to save Rukia would have changed things drastically during the Soul Society Arc.
OMZ may have originated from Yhwach, but because that origin fused with his Soul Reaper and Hollow powers it was not simply Yhwach's fragment anymore. It mutated into Old Man Zangetsu, a fact that it itself did not accept but Ichigo did. This is why Yhwach has such difficulties with dealing with his Zanpakuto. It is functionally an aberration that breaks the rules of all origins but exists under its own rules instead..

No that's not how any of it works. Those powers were always one from the start. Ichigo's Quincy powers awakened first and became sentient thanks to his Shinigami powers. The Zanpakuto is a living weapon essentially. Ichigo's inner hollow: white is a pseudo asauchi made of shinigami souls like how Oetsu makes his Zanpakuto.
OMZ as he said eventually grew to respect Ichigo's resolve over time which was why he chose to give in to his wish.
@@justinpachi3707 this is a complicated topic not helped by translation. This is my understanding. Each Soul Reaper's soul is split into at least two parts, one of which inhabits the outward body, and one or two who only inhabit an inner body. The sword in its purest state is actually an Asuichi, which is able to absorb the Zanpakto spirit(s) to form the true Zanpakto over what usually takes decades, if not centuries (factoring in the typical training to achieve Bankai) as the Shinigami pours his/her soul into the Asuichi. Ichigo is in fact a very strange anomaly. In the case of hybrids like Visords or artificial Arancar, a hollow or Shinigami soul is injected into the other, and doesn't fully merge. My understand if the manga leads me to believe that Shinji's inner hollow isn't his literal Zanpakt. Ichigo has had all four origins (human, Quincy, Shinigami, and hollow) implanted in his soul from birth, just sealed away. Humans don't have any innate abilities, other than a remarkable resistance to soul tampering if given reiatsu, and acts as a balancing agent, but the Shinigami, Quincy, and hollow powers melded. There are two known Shinigami who have dual Zanpakto spirits born with them, so that's not unheard of, but hollow and Quincy powers normally cannot mix, but Quincy and Hollow will both naturally meld with Shinigami, so both melded into a different half of his Shinigami powers, and thus Zanpakto spirits. The OMZ is *not* the exact same as Ywach, even if a portion of him comes from Ywach due to Ywach being the origin of any and all Quincy powers.
Zangetsu cared about Ichigo as a friend, maybe even stretching to the extents of a loved one. Like, family. The same way that Ichigo regards his little sisters, Yuzu and Karin. Whereas, up until *‘THE BLADE IS ME’,* Ichigo seemingly only ever deemed Zangetsu as the tool for power that was needed in order to protect the people who he in turn viewed as his friends and something precious to protect.
Another reason he wants to protect ichigo could be that since birth he was with ichigo without ichigo even realizing because of who his parents are it would make sense that he would want to protect a person he saw grow and maybe mentored like a little voice in young ichigo mind.

Ichigo's inner world is slowly building up a deep fear of mine, being completely submerged in water with no sense of direction. Like an endless void. Personally I wouldn't want to be in such a situation, but at the same time...the visuals are stunning
I agree with almost everything you said, except for the two swords part. It makes a lot more sense if you just think about the spirits as they're presented. Old Man Zangetsu can wield and use Zangetsu's blade, but nowhere near as naturally as White. This makes sense when you realize that Old Man is actually Ichigo's Quincy embodiment; he wouldn't be used to wielding a weapon like that (Even though Juha uses a sword). White was Ichigo's soul reaper powers and Zanpakuto all along. Old Man Zangetsu was a part of Ichigo's powers from the start, yes, but not his Zanpakuto. Case in point, Old Man Zangetsu was able to use Blut Vene to save Ichigo against Kenpachi; something only a Quincy could do, but in the final clash, part of White's reiatsu slipped through (the skull above Ichigo), showing they are separate. When Ichigo *dies* and fully hollowfies, we see White's true power on display (a foreshadowing of the true reality of Ichigo's power). We don't see Ichigo's TRUE Zanpakuto spirit until his training for the FGT; Merged (or Hollowfied) Tensa Zangetsu. As stated by both White and Tensa Zangetsu, they were one being from the start, only separating after Old Man Zangetsu started suppressing Ichigo's power, in an attempt to usurp control. When Old Man Zangetsu steps away and reveals Ichigo's true Zanpakuto, I truly believe it is to be just ONE sword. However, Ichigo is kind and caring. The bonds he created with his Zanpakuto spirits and the understanding, and resolve he gained after learning the full truth, he accepted them both as two sides of the same coin. HE accepted them both as Zangetsu; something I'm sure Nameiya knew he would do, which is why he tells Ichigo they were both real; he knew when he was forging Ichigo's new blade(s), that once Ichigo put his soul into it, they would become a dual pair, since he knows every Zanpakuto he's ever forged, and he did just forge Zangetsu.
However, it could be said that Ichigo could have just as easily only accepted White as his true power and Old Man Zangetsu would have simply faded into obscurity like when White gained control over him, but that's just head-cannon.
What I really want to know though, is since Ichigo's True Bankai spirit would be Merged Tensa Zangetsu (from the literal merging of his blades together) and Ichigo's True Shikai splits the spirits as individuals, do they merge back together into some new, unseen form when Ichigo uses Horn of Salvation since he claims it's when his powers 'merge' (his own words) together? Like a Hollowfied Zangetsu?
Yeah the quincy zangetsu and the hollow zangetsu fight difefently, during the bankai test we see how quincy zangetsu figth using a sword
Zanpakto spirits are manifestations of one's soul but are inherently shinigami exclusive. So it should stand to reason that there should only be one spirit. However, because quincies are tied to Ywach, it seems that they also have an inner spirit so to speak. Therefore ichigo inherently has 2 separate "spirits" but both are simply manifestations of his soul. So, I agree that he may have ignored his quincy in regards to his zanpakto spirit but it would only be half the truth. Both are one, 2 in 1. Kyoraku and Ukitake both have identical twin blades, ichigo has 2 different blades yet can become one.
I think the horn of salvation is somewhat independent of what state of zanpakto he's using. He said he should be able to utilize it at will but he's "not good at it" so he used ywachs quincy spirit pressure to tip the balance and wake up hollow zangetsu. So basically no I don't think there's another unseen form of his shikai other than other iterations of his hollowfication.
Sorry to go off lol but one more thing, I think old man zangetsu being merged with his shinigami spirit is true based on the fact that tensa zangetsu spirit was one being and looked like young Ywach mixed with hollow. So while ichigo chose to acknowledge both of them, they are still 1 in regards to his soul. 2 sides of the same coin. Similar to Renjis 2 kings.
@@babaG819 Actually Kyoraku has two different Zanpakuto. One is smaller than the other. I understand how the spirits work, but Old Man Zangetsu literally faded away, stepping back to allow Ichigo to use all of White's true power. It was Ichigo's understanding and resolve to accept both of them as Zangetsu that he even became a dual wielder. In a way, because he has two opposing forces as his source of power, having to unbalance them (something he can't do on his own when facing Ywach), actually hindered him in my opinion. If he didn't have Quincy Reiatsu blocking his Hollow Reiatsu, he probably would be in his Horn of Salvation mode as default (or been able to activate it no differently than hollowfying). Also, Tensa Zangetsu merged with Hollow Ichigo and revealed that that was their original true form, that they were originally one body, one form. If that's the case, it should stand to reason that Ichigo using Horn of Salvation to merge all of his powers together (waking up White so that he was actively fighting too), they would merge in his inner world, but in shikai this time.
Ichigo never gained power up. It was all old man preventing Ichigo to use destructive powers from the start. He just didn't prevent those destructive powers once Ichigo is in serious danger... All makes sense now.
To me, the most ominous line is the last remark made by hollow Ichigo, "he needs to be strong since it will be mine someday"
Hold up, merged form of zangetsu + white is totally the form he takes in the last arc.
Something to consider in this is that Zanpakuto have two parts according to Kubo. The actual sword and the sheath. This something that is mostly seen in Ichigo's original Zapakuto forms, where they lacked a sheath instead having a cloth in Shikai and a chain in Bankai. Two parts. The second character that this "two part" thing we can notice is Ikkaku where to even activate his Shikai he needed to combine it with the Sheath of his sealed sword.
Finally, characters that wield two swords in a form like Jūshirō Ukitake, Shunsui Kyōraku, and eventually Ichigo is that they all lack sheaths too. But with Ichigo the Black Larger sword clearly has a cut out in a similar shape to the smaller sword. Not sure where I was going with this nor how it relates but I thought I'd not delete this after spending a minute writing it.
so in his forged zampactou his black larger sword is ywatch as a shealth that encases the blade
and the white balde is the hollow zampaktou zangetsu sword that is the blade and weapon

@@Kevin-qj7fp So I actually recall it being said that the smaller one represents the old man while the larger is White Zangetsu. As white is the quincy color and the black is the Shinigami one.
As the situation has been inverted. Meanwhile his Bankai is the combined Sheath and Sword initially. Which is why when it breaks it reveals another sword underneath.

prior to ichigo in TYBW gaining his TRUE zanpakuto. even after getting bankai, the shikai doesnt have a hilt or a Guard. its litterally JUST the blade with cloth to wrap it in?

do you know what is funny? Old Man Zangetsu is a part of Ichigo's soul which means that what is actually happening is Ichigo lying to himself.

From what I understand, it's White that inherited Masaki's will. Since Masaki & White were combined in 1 soul for a "brief" moment. Hence why White protects Ichigo the way he does, just from a hollow point of view
So, a hollowfied Pure Quincy protected by the (actual-maybe Soul King) Almighty. Sounds like that’d be a unique specimen born to always stiff an offshoot of a false (limited) “Almighty.”
If a fragment of his soul is in on it, then damn, that’s just good writing.
Quincy definitely have a lil Ywach in them but they have no way to communicate with or even know of its presence since they have no access to their "inner world" as this is exclusive to shinigami/zanpakto.
Anyone who shares blood with (all quincy) or are bestowed power by Ywach (obviously also Quincy but specifically sternritter) are bestowed a literal fragment of Ywachs soul which he can then reclaim from them but I suspect may also be used as surveillance if you will.
This is just my personal take but I feel like when Zangetsu asked ichigo if he wanted to win or live he and Ichigo said he wanted to win, Zangetsu wanted Ichigo to say live, you can see some sense of sadness when Zangetsu says very well and as we know Zangetsu wanted to protect Ichigo and have him not go down the path of a soul reaper
yeah, the lack "welcome back, Zangetsu/partner" feels like a missed opportunity in the fullbringer arc
Because your question about „how ichigo achieved bankai“ in the all „beloved“ bount arc we see it. All sword he uses are all fake he needed to pull out his zangetsu by pulling it out of his body. I know it’s not canon but I kinda liked it.

Glad to hear someone else enjoyed the Bount arc. I know it’s filler, but I genuinely enjoyed it. Bleach has the best filler…even if it’s still just filler and not as “good” as the main plot.
The truth is during of what whe see of his training to obtain bankai Zangetsu said that the sowrds don't truly matter the swords are only parts of his soul and what he needs to do is find what truly make he wants to figth for other, this is the reason his first bankai dont look like the shikai but after him have the epafiny that the sword is him both the shikai and bankai look a like.
One thing to point out that might help with the theory that OM Zangetsu was always a part of his Zanpakuto, is blut. I believe it's stayed somewhere that mix blooded Quincy need to be taught how to use Blut, and yet he's using it when fighting Kenpachi and Ywach. How? Because the abilities of his Zanpakuto might be to use abilities from anything that's not a shinigami without having to be in a similar state.
Small spoiler: Gran Rey Cero could only be used by Espada no? If not, just Arrancar, yet in the final fight, he could use one and mix it with a Getsuga despite not exactly being an Arrancar.
So I believe that Old Man Zangetsu was always a Zanpakuto spirit but didn't realize it himself. And that Zangetsu's ability is to utilize any Quincy based techniques or Hollow based techniques. Basically, Zangetsu is based.

you have to remember that zangetsu and quincy zangetsu are originally one being, that’s why quincy zangetsu could use shinigami powers and be the one to teach ichigo his bankai
I think horn of salvation is white but has alittle Quincy in it true bankai is basically both blades merged like the merged tensa in the dangai training arc I often wonder if the spirits merge when he’s in true bankai form
I always figured his shinigami powers had naturally blended together and thus helped forged his smaller blade as his Quincy powers (smaller to represent the unrefined abilities his possesses as a Quincy and as a parry blade like a wakazashi); much the same way as how Ukitake and Kyoraku's blades have another source of power to be used for battle. Both come from a secondary source but end up being accepted and combined into their zanpaktou.
Funny how him and zaraki learn about their swords at the same time
I have theory for when Ichigo was doing his Bankai training, maybe he just stole Zangetsus zanpaktou and striked him, because technicly the blade is still in that area its just Zangetsu is holding it. Or maybe comediacly he just grabed old man Zangetsu and said "You're my blade" and he transformed into Bankai state :D
@1:02 No lie, true story: I dropped my phone on my bed for just a second, and for a moment was getting pissed at my phone for not flipping the screen back right side up. Then I realized Zangetsu was SUPPOSED to be upside down when you mentioned it. It’s the little chance moments that can be the weirdest 😅
an important thing to note here is that the other two dual zanpakuto wielders: shunsui and ukitake also have Two spirits. Both sogyo no kotowari and katen kyokotsu have two parts: identical spirits for the identical blades of sogyo no kotowari and a small and big for katen kyokotsu. making this connection makes it easier to understand old man zangetsus part in all this and that he is a part of the zanpakuto spirit although not as big of a part like white
I had to stop almost halfway to point this out since I have yet to hear it. Ichigo is a HUMAN. He grew up human, has his family and his own human life before ALL else happens in the story. OF course he isn't going to have the same care for his zanpaktou as even a run of the mill Soul Reaper. He isn't conditioned to converse with his weapon from the moment they get one, it's just not who he is. Ichigo is displayed often as being liked but he isn't "popular" like in many other mangas that have a "school life" portion. Based on this and how he treats people (including ghosts) he is very emotional teenager. He would likely not have the best social skills and speaking to a disembodied gent in a bizarro world may just not be on your priority list. The first episode is the perfect encapsulation of that. It's an unrealistic expectation on the reader's part (in this case YOU) to think Ichigo would be conversing with the Old Man on a regular basis just because YOU want character or plot development. Forming new habits is incredibly difficult without help or serious mental fortitude, just ask anyone who has successfully quit smoking or gambling. It's a lazy way to analyze what is very clearly intentional writing on Kubo's part.

Nice video! About Ichigo's bankai training, we get the answer to your question but not with many details during his fight with white to get the mask. In the visions Ichigo got, we learn how he found the "true zangetsu", it was with an enemy from a bount arc I think.
Watching Bleach growing up (around 2012 when the series ended) was one of the best things Ive done. The anime is my all-time favorite anime and it has really cemented itself in my life. Although I didnt quite understand the themes and tropes Kubo was putting across initially due to my young age, I did enjoy the story that he tried to make. I haven't read the manga since I was waiting for the day Bleach would return as I was hopeful that it would, and I am glad that I did that seeing that it did return. One of the things that was really mystifying to me was Old Man Zangetsu and the interaction with him and White in the anime. After White's first introduction to the story we see him and the Old Man talk sincerely about Ichigo, and every time I watched it I thought that White was really trying to help Ichigo. When the arrancar arc comes into play, and we see White trying to take over Ichigo, I thought it was a strange thing to do if he was trying to help him, although now I realize he as doing that because he knows thats what Ichigo needed. This has made me appreciate both White and the Old Man after I realized why they were doing it, and it also made me feel annoyed that Ichigo never went and talked to Zangetsu after the Fullbring arc. I thought that since Ichigo used the Final Getsugatenshou that Zangetsu would not be there or at least White wouldn't be there in his inner world because he got rid of his Spiritual Energy when he used that move, and part of the reason why I waited for Bleach to come back was to get an answer about that. After the first part of the Bleach TYBW arc came out we got an answer and it somewhat satisfied me to some extent, but afterwards I started thinking about why Ichigo's Getsugatenshou was white this time around and not it's usual red and black when he was in Bankai form. I started looking for an answer and found out a short that said Ichigo after learning the truth about his mother had accepted both his hollow and quincy side for before that he rejected them because he blamed himself for his mother's passing and subconsciously rejected his hollow and quincy side because of that. It was only after we learn the truth about Old Man Zangetsu and White that Ichigo accepts his powers thus awakening his true power, making it so that he doesn't rely on either White or Zangetsu to lend him their strength, but will combine theirs and his strength to awaken his true powers. That was one of the best things that Ive seen and it made the last episode of the first part of TYBW so satisfying to watch. I cant wait for the second part to come out now so I can see more of Ichigo's road to protect.

I love the deep contrast you used in the things that aren’t said in any fashion but it’s still had so much that could have drawn from it and his true connection to yuha and it and we know that zangetsu didn’t want to allow ichigo to receive his soul powers……..but we also see that connection as a Quincy and I think that those were yuhas actual feelings and this could be why he said his son we were thinking just in a quiet connection but maybe yuha could sense zangetsu in him but that’s just my observation

The story of zangetsu and ichihgos inner Quincy is great and I believe in ichihgos fights with kenpachi ichihgo used blue vain a Quincy technique
You know when push comes to shove, despite Old Man Zangetsu being among my favorite characters, I always kinda fold subconsciously with how hard I want to go pointing out everything I love about him and his role in the story. -Didn't help the Dub side is getting cucked on the last two episodes being bundled but here I am anyways.- I've been speaking about him a lot though lately due to a rewatch and Deicide having just finished. "Where Bleach should have ended." So allow me to fumble a bit-
When he asks in the Kenpachi fight all those options of Ichigo I think the very first thing he asks "do you want to fight" is kinda glossed over. Could be a stretch but I think that's him checking on Ichigo's "Instinct" progress. Ironically the very opponent he's fighting that is the first he's been struggling with for a while is the embodiment of this concept and shows something Ichigo could gain as a fighter. However this Arc as a whole isn't the time for that. It's Reason that is needed. That wins. That ultimately beats Byakuya because he was clearly still able to fight. I never really considered the possibility of Ichigo hearing Zangetsu's famous rain speech. That's kinda the point. He's reminiscing to himself how much he actually cares for Ichigo personally more than he lets on. Like a worried parent hoping their child will grow properly...not too far from the truth. "Rain." "I hate the Rain Ichigo. The Rain inside you..."
The actual gap in Ichigo attaining "Bankai" could actually be if we saw whatever the process was supposed to be, to make sense in universe we'd probably see something that doesn't seem to make sense based on what we learn of the Zanpakuto process later, or even a different "shape" of Zangetsu that we're used to indicating something's not right. Also it was to build surprise hype for later.
I never really saw the lack of visiting Ichigo's Inner World again for so long a mistake so much as a matter of circumstance. Quite the opposite actually. Ichigo's getting unique interactions most wouldn't have with their Inner Spirits regardless of how much time passes between them. Note I say "Inner Spirits" not "Zanpakuto Spirit." That alone is part of the reason why. To me it seems both of them are actually more open to Ichigo in response to his need for more power as these troubling events keep happening to him and those he cares of that he must react to. -Also it's why I value Old Man Zangetsu's anime only showings, seriously people need to stop sleeping on the "filler."- However it in turn makes sense of the drastic change of Ichigo's Inner World and the rage of the Spirits within.
Now here's some unique takes you probably won't hear. This is becoming more and more of a hot topic to me it seems, but when it is said Zanpakuto Spirit and Shinigami are "Equal" I'm assuming that means in a kind of existential sense. "Social Role?" In terms of individual power though, and they ARE individuals absolutely not. At least not at the start. If I could make a video there are many points in series to back up this claim and I think that fused Zangetsu actually has ungodly power everyone sleeps on. Stronger than Dangai and it could probably fight Aizen better than Ichigo did before using Mugetsu. Both only face each other in battle though so that doesn't mean much for scaling. *Ahem* For existence though they ultimately have the same origin...except...it's kinda weird and almost contradicted for Ichigo specifically and only Ichigo. Which is weirder because he's the only one besides maybe Renji to directly be told words to make one think the opposite.
You know what? I would have LOVED to get Zangetsu's (both) perspective on things while Ichigo is without his powers. That would be heartwrenching but that's also why I loved "that moment" in the Arc. When Ichigo finally breaks and cries we see he has reverted once again. His world flooded...I imagine Zangetsu exists somewhere but Ichigo simply can't perceive him anymore. Similar to what caused the tragedy of Muramasa and Koga. Again though for all we know in 17 Months Ichigo probably reflected on his Inner Spirits and made as much peace as he could have. Similar to Old Man Zangetsu in the rain. Hell, like most readers he probably didn't realize it was both Zangetsu's saying how much he cared for Ichigo when he accepted his blade. *White.* There could have been even more thoughts within Ichigo's thoughts we didn't hear...and that could have played a part in his resolve from seemingly nowhere. From nothing. As he breaks the Chains of his despair and is ready to fight! Powerless or not! Him vs Ginjo there was no different than him vs Ulquiorra! It's not about if you're able to win, Ichigo must fight anyways *BECAUSE HE HAS TO WIN!* HE HAS TO PROTECT! POWERS OR NOT! THAT IS HIS REASON *AND* INSTINCT! TO PROTECT!
I actually thought of this. Does each Quincy have an "Old Man Zangetsu?" I realized the answer doesn't really matter because being a Quincy isn't about accessing your Inner World. They don't or cannot. So whatever form may be in there it'll never matter. Never has. But if they could peer into themselves I imagine they would see some form of Yhwach...if any inner being exists at all. But I also agree. "Old Man Zangetsu" is unique. His own existence. The only ever form of Yhwach that will truly care of Ichigo in the way humans perceive "care." And Flame, THANK YOU for telling me that the anime reinforces this, now I have even more to look forward to in a week I guess. Which gives me a perfect excuse to hold out on some other things of Old Man Zangetsu people might not realize. But yes, think about this: "Old Man Zangetsu" has always been a kind of sleeper agent that if not for all Quincy at the very least for Ichigo. Then he basically rebelled against his "programming" as someone to suppress and/or subtly indoctrinate Ichigo to Quincy/Yhwach's ideals because he grew inspired by Ichigo's drive. His character. Despite I myself wanting to see more "check ins" between him and Ichigo, I think him being swayed by pure emotion- *Pure Reason* to ultimately have his personal best interests says more of...his love. For his "Son" "Born in the Dark" despite what Oetsu might have you believe.
Yes he was content to basically at the very least take a back seat never being able to interact again, truly going back to Ichigo as pure power. If there was ever a time to redo the processes in his Inner World as he has new Zanpakuto he should technically want to learn things of again it would be "White." The Lying Honest. But Ichigo would have none of that. "You're both Zangetsu, no longer above or below me in any role. You *ARE* me." The Blade is me...that's what Oetsu meant in his words. It didn't retroactively mean they were just beings of power to ultimately subjugate and have return to their origin being Ichigo.

Imma need there to be some updates to ichigo's dual blades and not just the stuff we got in a manga. Like imma need to see his hollow sword flash red and black and his Quincy sword flash white and blue maybe even take the shape of that energy blade that zangetsu had next to him and tensa zangetsu in red,and black energy for a new attack. This duality to ichigo is so amazing and what draws me to him as a character over other main protagonists in anime he is simply way more complex than most people give him credit for.

Last night I heard a theory on ichigo's true Bankai. The theory is similar to mine but the he said " ichigo has the ability to Evolve"!!
Mine was ichigo bankai is close to the silver of stillness due to masaki might have bled into ichigo.
BUT THIS MAKES SENSE because of what old man said to ichigo "hesitate and you will Age,if you fear death,you'll die." This could be a hint to ichigo true power" the next point, during the kenpachi fight ichigo couldn't defeat kenny because he didn't know White. Once he did he "Evolved " to beat him. Because kenpachi had the SAME thing of ichigo, unohana states " you grow stronger with every fight " so this Cemented the theory in my head. We know kubo does the balance within the story. Ichigo fights grand Fisher and lost byt made him WANT to be a soul reaper, he fights ishida and grows stronger, then renji,kenpachi,byuakaka,grimmow so on and on. I love this bro! I have been saying this for the longest. It's funny because both powers he got from his mother (Quincy and Hollow) merged with the Shinigami powers he got from his father. I thought most people would catch on because Quincy is the opposite of Shinigami so they should have merged anyway because opposites attract and then by his Hollow powers being made from shinigami souls, his shinigami and hollow powers merged as well. Then when the two combine, they form True Zangetsu because they are one and have always been one since the beginning. Also, Ichigo uses his Quincy powers while in Shinigami form. I think that's why Ichigo accepted both of his zanpakuto spirits as Zangetsu because he realized that he had two different sources of shinigami power which is why he has two blades and one blade if he chooses because they are both his shinigami power. It's even stated in CFYOW by Urahara that Ichigo's reiatsu mostly reads as a shinigami with hollow and quincy elements hidden behind it.

In the new anime we see that the name of both Old man Zangestu and White have been censured, like Old man Zangetsu have been censored when Ichigo enters his inner world for the first time. It's been confirmed that was the doing of Ichibei by Kubo in his KlubOutside, at least for the first time in his inner world. Maybe we don't know the complete name of Zangestu ?

Old Man Zangetsu, Uryu Ishida, Ryuken Ishida, Soken Ishida, and Masaki Kurosaki are the ONLY five (5) Quincy in the series who are the epitome of what a True Quincy is and should be. They embody all of the best aspects. And really, only those five (5) deserve to live.

I think all Quincies have an embodiment of Yhawach but they are without an inner world so are not able to react or communicate with him

Ichigo is the mother of all mutts in Bleach. He is predominantly a Soul Reaper, yes... but he is also an arrancar vizored quincy.
White is the manifestation of what he could be if he were an arrancar. Considering his wild vasto-lorde form is pretty much a textbook version of an Arrancar's resserectione (Tesa Zangetsu).
OMZ is the manifestation of his quincy powers and his -frankly insane- durability.
Their delta is Ichigo's Zanpakto.
It doesn't hurt that Ichigo's Bankai/Resserectione/Vollstandig (Order of precedence since in Ichigo's context, they all refer to the same thing.) mainly fits the description of a bankai but also fits the powers and quirks of the other two types as well... as he is dominating his spiritual pressure to such a degree that he has complete control over himself.
I love bleach its one of my favorite animes and young tensa zangetsu or fused with hollow is definitely my favorite character within the series, and it's simple why.
He is a bit depressed, just sometimes how I can truly feel but not out of nowhere, he has a reason to be depressed without causing self-harm because he knows what he has to teach Ichigo the Final Getsuga Tensho in order for Ichigo to "Grow up" kindly, is like said, a relationship between a loved one, between family, sometimes we have to make decisions that might hurt our feelings but we have to make them in order to let the people that we love, grow up and move on in life, even if that hurts us physically or emotionally and for me, I have children and I have done many things and will keep doing all these things out of love, even if I want them or not, at some point my children will grow up and get away from me and that is something I would have to accept even if it hurts me, but it is gonna be the best for them because being independant is also one of the best things a human can be, and that is what true love really means.
Tensa Zangetsu is the true embodiment of family love without having to be cheesy, over-reactive or emotional, and again for me, one of the best developed characters that barely has an appearance, and that is how you can tell that this anime has so much detailed character development even if it's not the protagonist.

I was watching another video this said every zanpakuto has two parts you have the sword and you have the sheet. Another thing another thing that was stated in the manga was that old man that gets you said that he was trying to restrain the power of His Shinigami abilities just like a sword sheath would restrain the blade of the sword. So yes they're both is she legami Powers but the hollow portion is the blade and the Quincy portion would be the sword sheath however that works.
Seeing young yhwach makes me think we will get a time travel arch some day. Maybe to prevent his power from "maturing"

An awesome video!! I Love Zangetsu and the video gave me a different prospective on him... Now from a viewer's point of view, we don't if Ichigo didn't try to speak to him or not. We never saw or him talk about unable to connect with his Zangetsu. It speaks to the Relationship between Ichigo, Zangetsu and White their method of Talking Ichigo were different and it would create confusion for Ichigo. The Blade is Me is important because it creates balance in all of them, by Ichigo accepting them, he accepts himself and finds balance with his power. "I will fight for me because the blade is me."

I support your theory, but I would say both Ichigo's fake bankai and Mugetsu are comparable to the Volstandig/Letz Still. And that's why Mugetsu looks like OMZ/Yhwach and his bankai coat mirrors OMZ's. They both fused with his Shinigami powers, but I think all Quincy have a Yhwach in them (comparable to all Shinigami get an Asauchi to use powers), however all Sternritter get the extra form as they drink his blood and get a stronger form (comparable to growing with your blade and unlocking Bankai).
Normal souls get a zanpaktou spirit that reflects their soul. Ichigo is a Shinigami who has a quincy spirit and hollow spirit inside him, so his Zanpaktou spirit makes sense to just be them. OMZ never thought he was a Zanpaktou spirit, but he lived in ones house and was treated like one, but he was one; walk like a duck etc etc
and btw the ichigo hollow is actually shingami. Aizen created white by fusion shinagmies souls and that exactly what Urimaia do to create zanpaktus

I think we have enough proof that powers while they exist as separate things also don't remain separate with how both Tosen hollow powers is a form of Suzumushi(Shikai 1: Suzumushi, Shikai(power) 2: Suzumushi Nishiki: Benihikō) , Bankai: Suzumushi Tsuishiki: Enma Kōrogi, Resurrection: Suzumushi Hyakushiki: Grillar Grillo) and that fullbring merges naturally with Shinigami powers as just a thing(also how a Shinigami can take a temp Hollowfication pill to gain temp hollow powers and so too does their zanpakuto Hollowify)

I would say if they would go into their inner world in a way to talk with their power it would take that form but naturally they don't as normal Quincy(as we even see some Quincy don't even believe in the whole zanpakuto have souls) so they don't really do any kind of inner world talk with powers stuff so there is no need for the power to manifest like that, Ichigo with the seal keeping his hollow power away needed two reps, possible that Yuzu and Karin only have the one

Think Yuzu and Karin inherited a dash of Shinigami or Quincy powers considering their heritage and lineage being children of not only Shinigami and Quincy ( hollowified ) Quincy at because some or most that Ichigo got most of the power's being the 1st born or older brother but it would 👀 see their develop or furthermore awaken their 🔋 power's.
I was rewatching JJK and within hanami fight W/ yuji+todo. We see mahito talking to hanami and told him to LOVE the fight, this is our INSTINCT we also have REASON. So try a BALANCE that.

All Quincy’s have a fragment of Ywbch inside them. What makes Ichigo different is that he is a shinigami and shinigami can communicate with their inner spirit and talk to their zanpakutos. That’s makes ichigo the only Quincy to communicate with the fragment of ywbch. I don’t believe old man zangetsu is his part of his zanpakuto but that he’s able to wield his power separately as a Quincy.
OMZ is a part of Zangetsu. Ichigo said it as well that there were no lies in either of their words. Zangetsu told Ichigo that he and OMZ have always been one and share the same body. That wasn't a lie.

This is a very difficult topic, and i do think you answer is true to the end of the series, but i don't think that Old Man Zangetsu was always his Zanpakutou spirit, and i think it comes from Ichigo being on denial, which was brought to him by his lack of knowledge.
Let's break this into parts, i do think that from the very beginning Old Man Zangetsu was on this strange space, Ichigo had the potential to awaken Shinigami powers, but lets not forget those power were dormant, because Ichigo at birth is a Human and a Quincy not a Shinigami, Human and Quincy.
Then Rukia comes and because of all the pain suffering and selfdoubt she had on herself, the Hogyoku, gives him all of her powers. Now we know Rukia by this point was *AT LESS* seated official potential, if not Lieutenant. That begins to awaken Ichigo's powers, then the powers that were awakening Ichigo's go away by the hand of Byakuya, leaving then on a half way work.
Ichigo enters his inner world and see's Old Man Zangetsu, now if all of his powers were awake, White Zangetsu should be around there, but he isn't. And this is important, White doesn't appear until the fight with Zaraki and by that point he is being supressed. And this is the point i think Old Man Zangetsu position is put into questioning, he is housing Shinigami/Hollow powers into himself, and i think this iffy kind of state is because Ichigo believes he is his Zanpakutou spirit.
That's all the fact we have regarding the situation at that moment, so what's Ichigo's state the moment we properly see White Zangetsu? Now he is a Shinigami, Quincy and Human. And now is when the Quincy powers begin to mix with the Shinigami powers, and when Ichigo used the Final Getsuga Tensho, he lost all of his powers both Shinigami and Quincy. So he became just a Human with Quincy blood, but he still had the potential to regain either or both, Shinigami and Quincy powers. And then they return at the same time thanks once again to Rukia.
So at the end, i believe that, it was a choice the powers were mixing together, but never totally something always separate then and think that was Ichigo, Ichigo never saw White as a complete ally, he saw him more as either a tool or someone he had to fight together, but didn't want to. Until "Everything but the rain", it's here were everything changes. At this point the powers were slowly put surely melting together, it's when Ichigo decides that both are Zangetsu that the powers fully mix. At less this is what i believe now thanks to your analysis.
Ichigo apears with hollow powers the moment he obrain his on shinigame powers, even if the mask is not fully developed, the mask design being altered the more Ichigo use it only show that from the begin he alred have hollow powers, but his quincy power are supressing it.

It's actually up in the air, but having in mind Ichigo is a Human and a Quincy, not Human, Shinigami and Quincy, is more possible that in the Shaft Old Man Zangetsu wasn't supressing then because the powers are still dormant and Ichigo is still just a Human and a Quincy.
we can guess where white is actually inside old man zangetsu since that is the sort of natural sate of Ichigo power(well all powers when you have multiple, like we see with how if you get fullbring or if you get even temporary hollow powers it mergers with your zanpakuto) like white says can I go back now implying that where he was before, old man goes yes and white remerges with the old man but not expressed which is like Ichigo power
in the same way Isshin despite not having any power and unable to see sprits was still both human and Shinigami so too is Ichigo only he is also hollow and Quincy from his mother aka Bayakua failed to get to Ichigo actual powers underneath the power given to him
also his Quincy powers were still dormant at the time and don't get awoken until repeated exposures to pure blood Quincy power(also Isshin Shinigami powers were sealing Ichigo hollow powers at the time and that remain until during his fights in soul society most likely his fight with Byakuya )
