Aizen Sosuke and Yhwach rightly stand as the two most important villains in the story of BLEACH. I have always felt Yhwach to be the superior villain and I'd like to give you three reasons why. Enjoy!

Hey guys. Quick notes- Yes, I know Yhwach fought Aizen but the reason I removed him is because this is a comparison between the two of them and also, TYBW Aizen takes on a new level of meaning than Arrancar Aizen. So I get it, but I had my reasons to omit that. Thanks!!

It was Aizen … there’s absolutely no reason at all to OMIT him …….. it’s completely disingenuous and disrespectful if you ask me ….. the only person to troll yhwach in a battle and we acting like they didn’t fight … not cool …. Yhwach isn’t driven by a motive like superiority complex with Aizen or protectiveness with Ichigo.
I think Yhwach doesn’t really have a choice. His father was sacrificed so that a world with multiple realms came to be. Yhwach is forced to feel the death and therefore feelings of every soul that returns to him.
There’s nothing he can do against it so he’s under the impression that if he removes the concept of death, he will finally be at peace.
It resulted in him becoming a war monger. He’s like an inevitable force of nature. Like our sun that will eventually burn out and consume venus and Merkur. Burning our planet earth to a cinder.
It seems to suggest that the world of Bleach was always destined to collapse.

I 100% agree as a final villain Yhwach fits better. But i do wanna say that Aizen and his goals/role is not that much far off compared to Yhwach. He is someone who seeks to challenge the status quo, to question why the world is build in such a way and to oppose it head on. We don't know how much of the Reio's past and the original sin he knows, but there can me more than 1 way to represent the thematic resonance of bleach, and im sure if Kubo wanted he could write Aizen in such a way that is fitting to be a final villain as well.

Yhwach led empires that were known to humans, to them he was just another warlord but still he had influence. Yhwach wants to change the fabric of reality itself while Aizen only wants to stand alone in the heavens. Ironically Aizen's goal will only lead to a shallow, lonely existence while Yhwach will end fear and death. But of course like Aizen's own it comes with a price in body count.

    • @Grayson-Winchester
      @Grayson-Winchester Месяц назад +5

Aizen at least had a somewhat change of heart and helped save the world. He only respects free spirits like Ichigo, Urahara and Kyoraku.
Yhwach on the other hand suffers the worst fate imaginable. But to be frank he sought this out. He killed Yamamoto and Reio and therefore unleashed something worse.

@@manuelacosta9463 there’s definitely going to be some kind of internal conflict between the soul reapers. As far as I can tell Kyoraku will try to brace the Gotei 13 for the upcoming threat. The lieutenants and Ichigo will bring a report.

Another point I'd like to make is that Aizen was a little too late. Because assuming aizen isn't thousand year old and around shunsui's age, he was born a bit too late. Other than the story that currently happens, Aizen was there when all the big stuff in the bleach universe had already occurred. He didn't witness the Quincy or anything of the sort.

He kills Yamamoto , makes it to the Royal palace , and kills as well as becomes the new soul king , on top of boxing all the top tiers of the verse (including Aizen). Then theres the historical relevance you brought up , its not even close honestly and im not even upset about it

Yhwach fearing death is what makes him the perfect final villain for Ichigo since his journey is largely concerned with overcoming that fear from the very start. The very foundation the story started on, Ichigo being concerned about the disappearance of the ghosts he sees, his mother's death, Orihime's brother being unable to pass on, etc. This simplicity is what makes it so perfect, that even after God knows how many chapters, this core theme of death is what everything revolves around

    I agree whole-heartedly.
Another aspect of this conversation is how they operate and/or carry themselves as villains, with Aizen being more of a behind the scenes puppet master with aspirations of godhood,
while Yhwach is somewhat of a quasi-divine warlord bearing the sorrows of the masses. It ultimately comes down to preference I suppose, but I prefer the Quincy King.
The fact that Yhwachs' army was far more competent and got things done more efficiently speaks volumes.
Besides Quincy are better than Soul Reapers.

    @tensazangetsu7062 Месяц назад +4

Obviously Yhwach is a better "Final Villian" because he is more of a threat and actually has hatred towards the Shinigami
But that is where is think the genius of Aizen lays Aizen had nothing against the shinigami only Yamamoto and the central 46
Aizen was against the ones who Set the Rules Aizen was against Ichibei, yamamoto, central 46 and Mainly the Soul King or more specifically the System that is kept in place by him
Aizen philosophy is about The World and how its flawed and we see the flaws throughout the whole story
When people die they get sent to the soul society into random districts in terrible conditions they Die at early age like rukias and renjis friends
Then we also have scenes like when Mayuri killed thousands of civillians keep the Balance
AIzen saw these flaws And he worked for centuries to find a way to become the soul king himself to fix those mistake he was on a whole different plain than all the other Shinigami nobody besides Urahara ever thought.
Thats why i thinks Aizen breakdown when he was sealed was the Greatest scene in Bleach
the build up is also insane the way Aizen got more and more careless and his ego growing with every power up to the point that he let Urahara attack him
and then when He gets sealed he realizes that he was careless because he thought he was unstoppable because after centuries of precise planning developing and experimenting he finally became one with the hogyoku,.
But even tho he gets sealed he still thinks that his Goal has to be reached and thats why he questions Urahara on why he isnt doing it why was Aizen the only one seeing this big Problem all along why does someone like Urahara choose to not do anything
and thats where he drops one of my favourite quotes when he says: "Victors shouldnt see the world as it is but as it should be"
This quote really makes Aizens determination clear he spent centuries on reaching making the right steps to reaching his goal and he doesnt even care if he himself reaches it as long as Someone like Urahara who knows the cruelty of the past etc decides to puts an end to the dead corpse upholding a flawed world he will be satisfied.
I really like how he is the only one trying to catch the problem by the root which is the foundation aka the soul king

Technically yes because of simply his motivations and history. We never get a full clear vision on what Aizen truly wants to do. We get hints of it but still not enough information only that he does currently hate the systems in place but on how he will change it is to be determined if it's a good or bad ambition to make it all one again or be a dictator.

Yea…. Idk about this one Yhwach honestly has always been a flat villain to me. When you put him and Aizen together to compare notes Aizen is the better overall character for the story and for the audience .
Aizen was literally running the soul society and the soul reapers for years without anyone including the zero division knowing. While building up and army also while basically creating my vizard faction and accidently creating the main character as well as the rival he wanted to match his power. But when you say wage war he was about to make the Oken before Ichigo/Urhara stopped him because the royal Palace was next and by that time if he would have made it up there and fought the royal guard he would have kept evolving given the fact no one in bleach had something as strong as the final gensuga < which still scales as the strongest move in bleach… to stop him unfortunately.
Aizen fighting basically the whole cast sent a message to the cast and the audience basically you cannot fuck with me with or without my shikai. His basic powers with his brain and strats is what made him highly dangerous.
The Yamma thing with Bankai clearly he couldn’t use it because it would have destroyed Katakura Town and the pillars and even if he did if happen to use it that doesn’t stop Aizens shika from possibly making him attack comrade etc. Btw Yama was going to use a self-destruct move on Aizen when he got stabbed as well and try to Isolate the explosion.
But to say yamma used Bankai against Yhwach and not Aizen when both of them both used something use someone other than themselves to hurt Yhwach… Aizen= Wonderwise and Yhwach Roid/Loyd plus the bankai stealer < come on now lol.
History wise I mean… Yhwach is the son of the soul king so I mean yeah hes gonna have that history but fighting those 3 people well 4 because he did fight the 3rd espada and Kinda one other person but meh. Also the negotiate part is a bit of a reach because Ichibi was lying like a MF at that table it wasn’t a negotiation made it sound like one he knew Yhwach wouldn’t accept the terms it was just so Yhwach would react so he could use “Pernita” to snatch the Almighty power away from him forever. The only way he could get those powers back was by dying and being rez’ed. We don’t even honestly know the history of Aizen beyond vice captain. Kubo wrote him that way which I think its for the best.
Character wise Yhwach just isn’t interesting because outside of the Almighty hes just a flat villain hes not super smart hes not a killing machine like Freeza or Muzan he has alittle bit for fear on screen/manga he projected but Aizen when you saw him everyone including the audience knew whoever was near except Yamma was pretty much done for and that’s without the shikai. But idk hopefully they rewrite his character a bit more as they make the new changes to the anime adaption.

I feel like Yhwach's biggest flaw is his personality. He is such a significant character to the greater narrative and world of bleach, but despite all of this, he is just so dry!!! He shares two scenes with Azien: during the Yamamoto fight and when He comes down to the Seireitei at the end of the story, but in both scenes Aizen is so much more entertaining and memorable. Even during his fight with Ichibei, were he is more talkative then usual, he barely says anything interesting.
Another flaw with Yhwach is that he is kind of an inconsistent character. In the story three different Yhwach exist.
    1. The young emperor of the Quincy Empire a thousand years ago. He is brash and naive, but is driven by curiosity. He wants to know more about the world and his own history, because in this lies the key ending the cycle of life and death, but more importantly ending his own suffering.
    2. The Quincy father and messiah during the first half of the TYBW arc. After losing everything, he is back with bitter vengeance and wants it all. He is neither naive nor curious, and only wants to see his plans through. He literally couldn't care less for anything and anyone else.
    3. The false god to a broken world. After killing and absorbing the soul king, Yhawch basically goes insane. He becomes very arrogant, not that he usually isn't, but now it's to a cartoonish level. He is also so much dumper. It feels like a part of his character dies with the soul king and he becames more of a narrative device than an actual character.
All of these different phases of his character should make a compelling and logical character arc but for some reason, it doesn't really work. His character feels fragmented. For how incredible of a writer Kubo is, I think his execution of Yhawch lacked finesse.
I do think Aizen is a better villan, because he is more engaging and entertaining, and honestly that's what people remember in the long run. I love Yhawch more though; he is such an interesting character and his inclusion does so much for the lore of bleach. I also like his design more!

Honestly by the end Aîzèn feels like a Deuteragonist with a captivating villainy streak…
But Yhwach Bach is functionally some kinda combined Yèshūà & Lucifer… real “murdered son of God” energy you know?
Of course it Feels grander because Yhwach DOES what Aîzèn simply Dreams about! & I hope we get to see Yhwach Bach inside some Réīô trapping magical crystal for holding reality together…
I do still think there might be more nuance to the exploration of the animal path and Jīgôkū since we’ve seen mostly Dévà & Prétà paths as parallels or choices for people on Human Path… but the convergence of the paths and how they’re present through each realm is kinda fascinating & compelling…
It’s got mystery nearly equivalent to a number of spiritualities & that in itself puts the story above the spiritual ideas explored in the average Shōnèn Mángà…
I’m always captivated at every moment of the story Kūbō chooses to share with us…
I do wonder though if kurosaki doing translation work abroad ever runs into scenarios where suddenly SSWB pull up saying “woah woah who let someone hold some kinda spirit weapon?! Is this from the Eastern Branch?! We only cast spells at scary dragons here, okay?! Cool moonslicer boy or whatever you’re yelling about with your energy sword!
Regardless, I believe in Kubo’s storytelling capabilities even if the plans sometimes prevent people from getting the story without him having almost Too Long to think over every detail…
I think having choice not to put out more is almost in a place similar to George Lucas selling Star Wars… you can’t just let some light novelist replace the man himself you know?
But at least we can finally get the Real Ending to Bleach instead of the “15 to 40 chapters? …well we better get editing cause the boardroom says you’re done in Four Chapters! … whatever we cut can be saved for if people ever want the anime again!” (Or however it really went down… probably more chaotic & painful I’d imagine as an artist who’s had his dreams crushed by comrades more than the industry itself… but I have difficulty imagining being able to listen to music again in the way I did as a music producer… though I hope to see Kubo’s work continued before losing capabilities like myself losing an ear that covered emotional melody etc.)
But Aîzèn isn’t Less of a Character than Yhwach Bach, overall…
I almost feel like Aîzèn does some Creation in a twisted way in his Flirtations with Becoming a Godly being alike to Réīô but he never gets that far in the “Becoming Réīô” Bit…
    Yhwach Bach truly does though!
    That is a Huge Difference…
Though I still think the line “Welcome to MY Soul Society!” Hits harder but I’m still uncertain whether he’s gonna die in this ending or end up in Hell in whatever way, though he does tend to endure nearly all challenges….
I’d not be shocked by Aîzèn either completely changing his role to the universe around himself Or becoming a Bigger Villain outliving Yhwach Bach…
Honestly the Aîzèn feats in TYBW, which couldn’t have been possible without backup from beings such as Chair-sámà… well it’s got me still wondering how far they’re willing to go in exploring what’s truly even going on in such scenes!
The ability to hypnotise God’s new replacement was awfully grand… & he did so for a pretty long period of time… Can he make clones of himself to manage that much thought & that much data to warp with complete hypnosis?! How’s it work without magical ninja alien eyeball powers?!?!
Aîzèn feels like more of a ten tails jīnnchūrīkí than anyone else in the story to be fair… even if he only got smaller pieces of the higher deity’s reincarnated powers…. : D
Though I guess Yhwach is more like “nah I just ate all daddy’s powers… I spat out the extra bits to deal with the shinigami below!”
“Well I don’t wanna say I hypnotised them first… that wouldn’t be Fully Truthful, would it?!”
Man I need some villainous back & forth monologuing… I know that SOUNDS like a conversation but, it’s Never that simple with these to Legends of iconic Monologuing!
Bless Kubo for producing Both Characters in a singular Story! : D

I agree with you but i literally am so pissed at how you went bout it. You kinda make it sound like you are picking at aizen here
Aizen is literally not a final villain type of character... Aizen wasn't written like that yhwach was.
Like yhwach was definitely the bigger threat, since well squad zero didn't bother with him but came down and even straight up confronted yhwach
Aizen vs yama-ji is such a bad point ppl bring up i despise it... Cuz yama was HEAVILY HEAVILY nerfed in that situation... His bankai was off the table since he was on earth... Itd have destroyed the whole world
Thematically im torn, yhwach is definitely a better representation of Bleach... But aizen's character was just soooooooo crutial to oave the part for what yhwach could later represent
But ig i agree, it kinda feels like this isn't a comparison that should be made between the two. Imo both are targeted at very different peaks of bleach's world and story
Idk it feels like this is going to piss ppl off and generate toxicity

I prefer ywhbach.Aizen is great antagonist....Aizen feels like takasugi it was built up..to the epic fight. Then silver soul comes in and we got the true antagonist..ywhbach feels like shoyo

Aizen SURE did awful things for sure and is a threat, but Yhwach. Yhwach did things that Aizen never could do at time of what we see him BEFORE Blood War. Also, I got one issue with your first reason (my opinion. So if you disagree that's fine with me). Just because one did more damage or is more of a threat, doesn't make you a better villain, it makes you a bigger threat but not better villain. Like, you can be the best threat known to men but doesn't mean that you are better villain. I mean, look at Kaguya for example. People trying to make Yhwach the "good guy" because he has a reason. But, no matter the reason, you still are a villain. Yhwach did MUCH WORSE things than Aizen, but Aizen is more chaotic. Yhwach is Lawful Evil as Aizen is Chaotic Evil. Aizen doesn't give a damn about others etc

If Ichigo wouldve mastered his fullbring, quincy powers, shinigami, and hollow powers, man Ichigo wouldve been truly unstoppable. Yhawach nor Yamamoto wouldnt be able to rival him low key. Just imagine if Ichigo wouldve mastered all 4 with different types of attacks.

Fun fact, I do believe Aizen knew what was coming hence him wanting to replace the soul king and go ahead and deal with Ywatch. To the point of the video, they are kind of equal minus Ywatch gaining the power of The Almighty. Ywatch had a larger army because of being Quincy. But in all honesty Aizen did more with less. Also Aizen played a huge role in Ichigo being conceived so there’s that. Yeah Ywatch mascaraed as Zangetsu the whole time but that wouldn’t have been possibly if Ichigo was never born. One went through a lot to gain a small but very significant portion of the soul kings power and the other is the son of the soul king. And being honest if Ywatch wasn’t the son of the soul king he’d had probably been just another run of the mill cookie cutter villains in the series. Either way I’m still team Aizen, best antihero since Gin. Oh and to address one more, I don’t think there was any Quincy living that wanted smoke with Aizen. In all honesty Ywatch had no way around it in the end, if he could’ve I do believed he would’ve avoided him. Uryu had lots of opportunities to confront Aizen but never did. Yamato was so far below Aizen in tybw it not even worth starting a debate about. It’s stated already by quite a few ppl that Monster Aizen was above Squad Zero. Let that marinated in your head. And he tried to recruit Aizen for a reason. No one else but Aizen

Yeah I don't disagree with you on YH.Since Aizens motivation was always tied own him having a God complex since the dude believed that he was superior to all spiritual races. That and the fact that the dude was always lonely at the top when it came to his powers and skills so if anything Aizen is someone who wanted to meet a match in skills and power so he wouldn't feel alone in this world that he so hated for its hypocrisy and unfairness as well. But for YH his someone who wants to return the world back to the way it was were the laws of Life and Death never ever existed so everyone can be immortal( with deathless immortality) under his rule.

Well Ichibei did see Yhwach as a child, a brat that needs to be taught a lesson, especially in the flashback, but I see where you are coming from, Ichibei is just on a whole different level of being historically important, Now yamamoto and Yhwach is much closer in that regard, although I feel like Yhwach is still above him given that he is the supposed son of the soul king

I mean it's true he accomplished a lot more than Aizen and the Arrancar/Espada the dude literally killed the captain commander and the leader of all soul reapers wiped out the zero squad is the reason people like Unohana and Ukitake are dead not to mention he also made it to the soul king and essentially took him down via absorption.
