Obviously English isn't his first language. It shows. He talks too fast with the broken heavily accented English. I lost count of the amount of times I had to rewind to try and understand what he said. Also didn't help THAT he seems to substitute THAT with WHAT in every instance as if the two were interchangeable. Good information but needs to work on speaking at a cadence that allows people to discern through his accent

This guide is absolutely FANTASTIC and I'm grateful for you putting it out there - I hope you continue to do these sorts of things in some form, because you got a real talent for research/organization/presentation. I will say, the "Art of Combats" are special drops that come from enemies generally using similar or the exact weapon. For example, the enemy dropping the "windswept" switchglaive spear doesn't have a switchglaive, however the polearms he does use is essentially the mid-stance switchglaive moveset, with a couple different moves thrown in. The windswept skill being a mid-stance only move as well shows it's not a nice for other weapon forms. As well he drops the dual sword skill "Art of Combat: Punish The Proud" which is the party he does with his dusk swords, then kicks you back. Other bosses also drop their own skills, not art particularly using the weapon they have in their hands, but perhaps use in some moments with that weapons moveset.

hi, found this great video today. Im currently really strugglying with getting stunned-locked and instantly killed. So many times i dodge through enemy attacks and appear to be behind them or away from any telegraph, but i still get hit and being hit means im stunned - and bosses can kill us in few hits. Since i get hit i can't dodge or move, i can block but if i block a boss attack, its automatic death since after dodge and probably some attack, that block will just stun me for 5-6 seconds. same with the counter, so many times a boss will do 3-4 attacks with burst counter, and i will actually dodge-burst through the boss and apear behind them, only to get hit and instant killed by attacks that are happening infront of it, not behind.
I can recall when you dodge some attacks from enemies that you still get hit cuz the swing is still going and ends behind them but tbh you will need to dodge differently then back words or other side, I also not really recommend fighting behind enemies to much cuz all enemies have some stupid back swing what will surely hit you, you do more damage in the back but don't get careless thinking they won't attack.
I know this is an older video, but how do you get better at human bosses? I'm fighting Saito something-something (the mage with an odachi) and has be kicking my ass for hours, i've been investing mostly on spears, with 30+ on costitution
I haven't played Nioh 2 in a long time to give you the advice but for human bosses try to abuse some of your weapons skills that make you throw humans around like if you do a forward smash with the spear it will knock them back don't know how it really works with the spear didn't use it much but look at the spears skill you might have a good skill what can make human encounters pretty easy. also see if you got yokai abilities what easily makes humans just fall on the ground by the ability.

You are not required to fight the bull there is also another path that avoids it completely and once you get to the monkey keep your distance out of his quick attack range and walk to your right against him as that avoided thrust attacks
Very well done guide and very insightful. Sadly tho I’m putting this game down. I tried for a couple hours but the amount of grinding just to get stats/weapons/armor is not for me. I got the plat for bloodborne but that’s as far as I’ll go with any games similar. I’m going back to Ninja Gaiden
Couldn't figure the damn combat system out. The tutorial did not explain it thoroughly and found myself playing like its a normal souls game, until I saw a video on moist critical portraying the anime like combat system.
This was useful, I just started playing, and it's definitely frustrating. I don't know what I did, but suddenly hitting R1 after an attack doesn't replenish my Ki. What do I do?
This is my first ever soulslike and I find it very hard to do the yokai form block burst thingy because it's space+R +direction which u want to go and I always do it too early if I manage to do it at all. Also I'm bothered that for keyboard and mouse the dodge is space, block is tab and shift is for the stance changes and some other stuff and those buttons can't be changed. I use my thumb for both space and shift, tab I just never use. I also don't understand how the yokai form works because I tried to shift into the yokai form but the button does nothing or just makes the horns appear (I also had the horns appear on other random moments)
bro just use the controller if you have plz the keyboard controllers are way too hard for doing the combos. and if you make your horns appear it means a toggle so you can use yokai abilities which is way easier with a controller.
I'm a bloodborne veteran putting more than 280+ hours into bb and never touched any soul games, so coming into nioh 2 is somewhat similar to bloodborne with the ranking system for skill points and amrita currency or known as (blood echos) in bloodborne and can i say this game is mental.... im struggling already but im up for the challenge this is like bloodborne but the next gen version but 10x harder !!!!
I can see you are a person of great taste bb is one of my fav games also nioh 2, like bloodborne it is fast paced but the punishment of getting hit is way higher in nioh 2 so it created more thinking about how you approach the encounters but if you do know how the game level system works and how to get stronger the game is easier.
@GamesGridNetwork ouu thanks for replying fellow hunter no matter how tough times get i always remember that tonight gehrman joins the hunt !!! Good luck out there
If you are referring to the auras that are black and Smokey with some red in them, you can run past and it will spawn a yokai. Others you gotta fight cause it’s in the way. If you are referring to the red swords stabbbed in the ground, those you don’t have to unless you want to summon benevolent spirits
Good video, but for a beginner like me, who has no experience in these sort of games, it's information galore... Heck information overload. This could have been made in 4 separate videos... if not more.
if you want a easy build 🤣 grab high block hatchets or dual swords then level dexterity and magic. then grab all 3 bombs in ninjitsu expecially the big ones. max all bombs out then grab some gloves and temper or find ones with increased bomb damage. then join.the clan that also increases bomb damage. and spec out your magic too for even more casting. nothing seems to be as strong as the shrapnel bombs though. have fun cheesing the game with infinite block and enough casting to drop galactus 🤣 and hey grab some heal spells from magic and you can summon players and npcs and heal them o and the armor debuff skills. its really cheesy and op lol.
GamesGridNetwork it didn’t show me in the controls menu, but you were way too late anyway. I figured it out that day I posted this lol it’s triangle and circle together..
Ong I've played about every damn soul game but this game stamina BS insane... I literally get 2 hits and then can't move because of stamina then I proceed to get touched by Hella dudes and I can't roll or do anything about it like damnnnnn.... not even the fact I'm bad I'm starting to think it's literally just the fact the game trash

watch it again maybe cuz it is a lot of info dump it is hard to get when first playing the game and you really just have to play the game to get familiar with the mechanics
While i enjoy a decent challenge, Japanese games have a tendency to have cheap and annoying difficulty. So i was hesitant to get this and went back and fourth for a year. Tried it last night for the first time. Difficulty is pretty good but so far not annoying. What actually proved to be very bothersome and i may still get rid of the game over it (undecided so far) is the complete mess of an interface. The developers obviously never heard of a card catalog or the idea behind it. It's all a big mess that makes no sense. It makes me think that there was no cohesion among the developers or that the director was drunk all the time. If you are in the fence about this game, fear the interface. Not the gameplay.
the interface is forgettable but the gameplay is one of the best souls-like out there, unlike their newest game Fallen Dynasty. also, a new game is on the way with the Rise of Ronin.
@GamesGridNetwork I briefly played Dark Souls 2. Didn't find it especially difficult but i didn't enjoy it either. It's hard to explain why but i imagine it's similar to why people didn't like fallout 4 as much as fallout 3. This game is my only other souls like experience. It may be good once you get the hang of it. But the Japanese game makers need to lay off of hounding you with all this stuff from the start. It may work for those already into this stuff. But it's a deterrent to newcomers like myself. Regardless, i am stuck with it. So i will probably give it another go at some point.
@GamesGridNetwork the one thing i WILL give this game is that the character creation; although suffering from the same confusion interface problem, is the most elaborate i've ever seen out of the box.
@@gunengineering1338 I played darksouls 2 so much I can understand it is not liked but regardless I did like it and played it a lot until darksouls 3 came out but DS2 is still the worst one I even rank Nioh 2 higher then it
@@gunengineering1338 idk why more other games have a character creation like nioh 2 or at least something similar then the common choice of standard preset with almost no option to adjust it you better make a fixed protagonist character at that point.
nevermind, I beat it literally after posting this. I just took my time and watched it's movements. I don't know why I bought this game thinking it'd be a cakewalk even though I KNEW it was a hard fuckin souls type game. I might actually be able to see the second level now.
People think souls is hard… this game is like a full time job lol. So is Souls… but damn. I’ve spent like 200 hours and I’m still in the early game with a somewhat unviable build.
more like gaming is a full time job and the real job is the part time it is amazing how the nioh mechanics work and if you do get the hang of it you can make some sick playstyles
I don’t know what to think about this game . I cant figure out how to get past the first level or where ever it is they dropped me off. I see that golden light looking bird . I don’t know what the hell is going on. I go to training and it tell me to enable my weapon and it won’t let me. I think if the person who made this game should watch a person who doesn’t know how play try to figure it out. I have know idea what is going on .
like dark souls genre it is just a niche for gamers but still it is just like you have to know how to play the game so you are able to play it, and it is a lot of fun if you do play the game.

for mouse and keyboard controls? I never used it but I guess you can find it in the option menu for button layouts for how to do the movement.
Mid-stance guard + strong attack ability, the leg sweep, may be of use.
I beat every fromsoft game except sekiro. Best nioh 1 but not the dlc. But cant get past the 2nd mission on nioh 2. Boutta watch this and probably start a new game . I feel like i did something wrong. I suck
hmm bruh you gotta play that nioh 1 dlc man it is the cherry on top! also if you know how the yokai abilties work in nioh 2 you will survive
@@GamesGridNetwork i bought the game and dlc because i saw the dlc trailer with the spider boss lol. I did like 2 missions but haven’t played in years, so i have to play the older missions to get the feel back
I cant play this game wtf am i supposed to do i watched this whole tutorial and i still cant get passed the first level like its impossible i do everything fucking possible but my stamina is always on 0 then i get 3 combo'd out of no where and die i completed elden ring but this game is on a whole other level like wtf
You are not required to fight the bull there is also another path that avoids it completely and once you get to the monkey keep your distance out of his quick attack range and walk to your right against him as that avoided thrust attacks
The horse you will have to fight as it is the boss but it is easier then the bull
Noob 😂
How do I keep finding you everywhere?
@@KyeCreates for real wtf haha
This was useful, I just started playing, and it's definitely frustrating. I don't know what I did, but suddenly hitting R1 after an attack doesn't replenish my Ki. What do I do?
if you do it right after an attack the white bar isn't filled up yet so w8 untill the white bar is full to where your used stamina was
How do you stealth attack?
Cool
Bro i suck at this game. But i still want to play it smh.
@@GamesGridNetwork I'll keep trying with keyboard and then I'll switch to controller if I get too frustrated
@@omppu65 alright if you do switch tell me if it any better x)
Nice review a lot of info just wish you would speak slower. But nice vid!
no problem my voice is much slower now anyway compared to this vid^^
I don’t Understand why I can’t upgrade the skills the way I want. It’s blocked and I have points
Good luck out there
@@eghd_7126 reading this reply made me visualize gehrman standing up from his chair and pulling out his scythe. gl with nioh 2 enjoy!
Do i have to fight the red auro things?
what do you mean red aura things?
@@GamesGridNetwork the red smokey thing that you can fight.
@@KawasakiZ-mi1vs I really don't know what you mean man
If you are referring to the auras that are black and Smokey with some red in them, you can run past and it will spawn a yokai. Others you gotta fight cause it’s in the way. If you are referring to the red swords stabbbed in the ground, those you don’t have to unless you want to summon benevolent spirits
@@DarkDareAL5 yes thats wat i was asking for thank you ;)
I have beat all the souls game man but this game is just...
Are all the weapons good. I kinda want to use fist but it feels like they do no damage. I just started the game
they are all good in my eyes they have their own playstyle really some will be beter but they are all overall decent.
Wish I could of watched this but there was enemy/boss spoilers immediately it seems.
it is only the first 3 bosses and the starting enemies so you don't get spoiled much
It's a really hard game 🎮
it is true but it is so good once you get the hang of it.
Good video, but for a beginner like me, who has no experience in these sort of games, it's information galore... Heck information overload.
This could have been made in 4 separate videos... if not more.
yeah that's why I called it ultimate guide and yeah looking back I could have made like 5 vid for it xd
Okay wait.
So I turn on the game.
Now what?
don't die!
Someone show this to critakal 💀
lol what...why?
@@GamesGridNetwork if you wat h his streams hes terrible and dosnt understand the combat he still goated
@@vihicringe than he should watch it and become a pogger!
if you want a easy build 🤣 grab high block hatchets or dual swords then level dexterity and magic. then grab all 3 bombs in ninjitsu expecially the big ones.
max all bombs out then grab some gloves and temper or find ones with increased bomb damage.
then join.the clan that also increases bomb damage.
and spec out your magic too for even more casting. nothing seems to be as strong as the shrapnel bombs though.
have fun cheesing the game with infinite block and enough casting to drop galactus 🤣 and hey grab some heal spells from magic and you can summon players and npcs and heal them
o and the armor debuff skills. its really cheesy and op lol.
Every video I look up doesn’t tell me what I need to press to enter Yokai Shift and it’s really starting to piss me off 😤
uh look up the controls in the menu?
GamesGridNetwork it didn’t show me in the controls menu, but you were way too late anyway. I figured it out that day I posted this lol it’s triangle and circle together..
all 4 of them jumped me
“Increases your Cap-city”?? I honestly don’t understand.
+1
Guide would be 10/10 honestly if you had proper grammar. Saying "what" instead of that/which/etc. is just plain weird and makes it really hard to listen to the guide.
yeyeye ik I heard it a thousend times by now “that” I am working on it and I say it is almost gone but sometimes will do it unscripted x). thanks for the score btw appreciate it!
Ten tons of info... Ki..burst attack.. Jokai . Dont understand most...
This video confused me more... i don't know the names of any of those things so i am struggling to understand what you are explainjng... if you showed them while explaining that would have helped alot... i don't even know what am i doing and what i need to do in the frist section i just run in circles...
watch it again maybe cuz it is a lot of info dump it is hard to get when first playing the game and you really just have to play the game to get familiar with the mechanics
@@gunengineering1338 I played darksouls 2 so much I can understand it is not liked but regardless I did like it and played it a lot until darksouls 3 came out but DS2 is still the worst one I even rank Nioh 2 higher then it
@@gunengineering1338 idk why more other games have a character creation like nioh 2 or at least something similar then the common choice of standard preset with almost no option to adjust it you better make a fixed protagonist character at that point.
problem is...games shouldn't require you to study and complete coursework just to understand the basics.
the game does teach it but it is trial and error most of the time so in the video it is explained without getting you killed all the time :)
@@GamesGridNetwork i thank you for the excellent vid.
@@OmegaSeraphim thank you very much gald to see you liked it!
dude, I know this is an old video but how do you get past that enki in the first level?!
I'm so extremely bad and I don't know what I'm doing.
nevermind, I beat it literally after posting this. I just took my time and watched it's movements. I don't know why I bought this game thinking it'd be a cakewalk even though I KNEW it was a hard fuckin souls type game.
I might actually be able to see the second level now.
hmm well you said it yourself take your time and watching the movements will get you to beat the game x)
He said enema so much 😭
People think souls is hard… this game is like a full time job lol.
So is Souls… but damn. I’ve spent like 200 hours and I’m still in the early game with a somewhat unviable build.
more like gaming is a full time job and the real job is the part time it is amazing how the nioh mechanics work and if you do get the hang of it you can make some sick playstyles
You make it more confusing. :(
hmm well the game is confusing just showing how to it works :)
The dying makes me want to not play 💀
I don’t know what to think about this game . I cant figure out how to get past the first level or where ever it is they dropped me off. I see that golden light looking bird . I don’t know what the hell is going on. I go to training and it tell me to enable my weapon and it won’t let me. I think if the person who made this game should watch a person who doesn’t know how play try to figure it out. I have know idea what is going on .
Good luck with this game if that’s where your stuck lol
Wtf nioh has blocking 😶
Just got this game and can’t beat the first boss and this video makes no sense
I hate this game play machine irs horrible bever got pass 1st area
I just hate this game. Guide is really good though. Shame that the game’s tutorial is ass cheeks at explaining how to play.
to hard.. most of ppl buy the game and thow it away. waist of money for 90% of ppl.
like dark souls genre it is just a niche for gamers but still it is just like you have to know how to play the game so you are able to play it, and it is a lot of fun if you do play the game.
This do not works. Is still unplayable, unistalled. Keep going.
f*ck this game it's harder than souls games and control buttons just sucks :(
