Hello Wild Ones 🥰 Loved this camp, hope you enjoyed this lil vid :) Muntjac Deer breed year-round and can conceive just days after giving birth - the female on the trail cam looks a bit chonk, do you think she might be expecting a baby deer soon? 🦌
Came across a Chinese water deer on a walk in Norfolk recently, head stuck in a wire fence. Took a while to free it, dancing around those teeth. Got there in he nd, no thanks or anything, just ran off 🙂
I quite often take a tennis ball with me that I've drilled a 1" hole in. I can then find a long enough branch for a tarp support. I stick the tennis ball on the end that props up the tarp so it doesn't rip.
Great tip, I hope I remember that one. One I saw a guy do was stuff an empty cloth bag with debris for a pillow. I might start taking a pillow case with me for this purpose.
Thats something Claire needed when she was in the stone hut to hold up centre of the tarp on 2nd attempt on Hurricane hill. I think I suggested 2 hiking poles tied together ,👍
Guys, cut off the end of an empty coke/soda bottle and putvend of pole in that. Also cut off the opposite (with the screw cap on it). Put your tent fabric between the cap and the mouth and screw if in. Its equivalent of a grommet. Middle of bottle? Love the simple joy of these little expeditions. Your enthusiasm is infectious. I can imagine a lot of older children must love your work. Such an inspiration to others !
Loved that one Claire, made a nice change. Saturday just gone, Gramp’s was looking after 2 of his grandsons 10 & 7 when they came in from the back garden and asked if they could build a den? Thinking of your videos and, ‘What would WildBeare say?’ Both boys were taken aback when I said “Yes”. Without further ado off they went upstairs bringing the materials they needed down. I hadn’t seen the den or checked what they’d brought down and in walked Mum &Nan. When querying where the two boys were, I told them about the den. “No, No, No” said my daughter and out she dashed to the two boys sitting under the trampoline on her beanbags, with quilts, throws and towels adorning the circumference of the trampoline. The two women were less than impressed; however, once I pointed out their initiative and the fact that the boys were having loads of fun both women calmed down. Later on, my daughter told me it was their first day in months that they hadn’t played on iPads and the XBox and in fact were both sound asleep 😊 So thank you Claire, without your videos and enthusiasm I’d have probably said No. Guess who’s got the boys this weekend 😊👍
(08/20/22) Midge, that looked like a single tree that branched into two trunks at the bottom, but what luck they both fell at the same time. ‘WildBeare’ certainly made good use of it and imagine how she exercised for thought to bring both a large tarp and ground tarp, and a reflecting tarp to radiate body heat back to her. Really glad she also had a sleeping bag that had insert room for a blow up mattress and was low temperature rated. Her stove is like one I used back 2016 when I was TRYING to get back into camping again, but as it turned out, I got too old (76) to solo camp anymore, had issues, but did manage 4 days.
@@WildBeare Why wouldn't you just build up the fire so you'll stay warm all night long? Using the V method that allows logs to fall into the fire as they burn out? If it's because your logs may catch fire or being overcome by smoke I wouldn't be concerned in the open.
Thanks for the video Claire,,you always seem to be such a beautifull soul. Its rain and snow here today, but still great to see spring finally get here in Montana !!
I don’t usually comment on videos but yours was well done without a lot of “ look at me and what I’m done”. I’ve spent some awful nights in the bush all over Canada and I can look back on them with a degree of fondness in the lessons learned. At my age now I enjoy my warm bed beside a wife I truly love, but I do venture out a few nights a year just to keep these bones in tune. Nothing like sleeping outside in a Canadian winter at -50c waking up to accumulated frost falling on your face from the frost buildup from your breath on your sleeping bag.
Glad to see you putting as much as you could, back to how you found it. I was a Royal Marine in my younger days and our mantra was always to put things back as they were, or cleaner than they were. Excellent video.
I have recently found your channel and my favorite part of your videos is the music you cut in. It’s always a lovely sound to go with your adventures. Well done.
Ahh thanks, yep I can imagine bivvying is not ideal with insect phobias. I'm terrified of ticks but they're more of an issue walking through long grass etc than at camp. Never had a spider bother me in my bivi to be fair. Thanks so much for watching my lil vid and have a lovely week :) 🌿 Claire
She is just too damn cute. Also, really good seeing others challenge themselves. Watched another video in the snow where she really pushed her limits. I'm glad that these videos inspire others to also get up out of their chair.
As a highly experienced and rugged outdoorsman I can tell that checking the weather in advance can make all the difference. It’s really the first thing I do before heading off to the mall.
Impressionnant !!! Je crois que je n’ai jamais vu autant de vidéos qui sont tournées aussi souvent sous la pluie !!! Et toujours avec le sourire. C’est super cooool . Bravo et merci de partager ces moments.
Thank you for sharing this amazing little adventure with us too Claire! It looked like loads of fun and really cozy too. It really makes me want to go camping right now!
Excellent utilization of existing natural resources. In an emergency situation, being able to do this can literally mean the difference between life and death. Excellent video.
That is the smartest shelter I have ever seen on here. I think winter camping is the best too. You dont have to deal with mosquitoes or a snake slithering in to see what your up to.
Phenomenal video. Again, like always, many different skills put together to make a comfortable camp in the woods. Awesome job Claire. Going to post this so my Scouts taking the wilderness survival will learn something. Thanks for the adventure.
I was the Camping Chairman of our local Troop and taught Pioneering and Wilderness Survival Merit Badges. Most of the gear Claire carries with her would not be permitted for the boys trying for the badge. Plus, the requirements are more than an overnighter. I would suggest looking online at what other Boy Scouts and Troops have done to get ideas for passing the requirements, and not this video. In fact, I would challenge Claire to undertake a 3-day trip ( Wilderness Merit Badge style) with only that gear Boy Scouts would take into the woods for this Merit Badge.

What a quirky place to pitch, makes for an interesting camp, very stealthy. The night cam was a good idea, little Muntjac having a nosey around lol! Great vid, keep ‘em coming 😀
A lovely video. Good to see you blocked the draught gaps first 😊, a good Idea. At least the tree walls aren't likely to suffer from being blown down like a tent 🤣🤭. And your smile is never to be missed. Take care and look forward to your next video
I think this is my favourite one yet. Great spot and a great example of how little you need for a great adventure. Thank you for the effort and for sharing. I need to plan an escape! Soon 😊
Hi Claire. Another fine job of setting up camp site. Use of natural materials like the fallen tree means your skills are evolving. Always nice to see you enjoying your environment, being outdoors regardless of weather. And of course the interaction with respect to nature as it happens. Your presentations are always a delight. Both music choice, photography and drone shots. You enjoy your outings and it shows onscreen. Awesome all around I must say. Stay well, healthy, and thirsty for adventure. 😇😎
Hi Robert! Ahh thanks, I loved borrowing this lovely tree for the night 🌳 and this lil camp felt really magical with the stars and the frost and the animals 🥰 Thank you so much for watching my lil vid and have a lovely weekend :) Claire 🌿
@@WildBeare Hi Claire. Thanks for the reply. Nice to see you enjoying and making the most of your adventures. Am slowly recovering from triple bi pass. Want to get back to a relatively healthy state. Much plans ahead. I have missed my usual excursion into one of Canada's more visited parks Algonquin; with the lads. Lots of wildlife such as bears, wolves, moose, owls, loons, bats etc. Always a magical time. Where the troubles of the city are traded in for the wonderment and peace of natures finest scenery and photo opportunities. The stars at night are magic. The sound of the Lake Loons singing out to each other. The Moose crossing the lakes. The howl of Wolves in the distance are wondrous. Our motto is simply" Remember and respect the fact that we are guests of the house (park). Be well my dear, and stay healthy and thirsty for adventure. Looking forward to semi retirement somewhere in Europe in a few years. New adventures for me are ahead. 😇😎
Great video. When I was stationed near Bremerhaven, they would say if you didn't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and check again. Your weather today reminded me of that. Good use of the fallen tree. It looks so easy, but the video/making the camp took hours.
Thanks Robert :) haha yep, sounds about right 😄 ahh I loved it, sturdy cosy lil home for the night it was 🌳 thanks so much for watching and have a lovely week :) 🌿 Claire
What a lovely little improvised camp. It's given me some ideas! And you caught a beautiful little munjac. I used to watch these little beauties in a forest I used to visit when I loved in Wiltshire 🙏
Just want to tell you that I love your videos! You have always so amazing camping spots. You have inspired me to look for similar things close to my home.
the fort shelter was great. It is an art to make a decent shelter. Cant wait to do some camping and make some sausages over a fire again. Haven't gone camping in a while, I miss it. Great job on the video.
Hey Claire, that was a goodun! Crazy weather to start off, but that starry sky and gorgeous sunrise made up for that. The fallen tree was a ready made campsite, made perfect with the addition of your tarp. Yep, a great video all round thanks. Have a great remainder of the week 😊
It's kind of wild seeing someone supplement their living by building a fallen tree fort the way I did as a boy. What a wild time to be alive. Cheers from the IPNW, U.S.A.!
This is one of my favourite videos and my kind of camp. I'm definitely preferring bushcraft and tarp n bivvy than exposed pitches. Awesome drone footage and editing. There's something so uplifting seeing deer. I adore the morning chorus from the lively sunrise winged choir 😍
Hi Ian! Ahh yay I'm so glad you liked it, I really loved this camp, it was so fun and beautiful and felt really magical with the animals about 😍 Thanks so much for watching my lil viddy and wishing you a wonderful week :) 🌿Claire
Aw what a lovely cosy den! I would never have thought of doing that with a fallen tree! I love my Bushbox XL, I need one of those grill things for the top though as I haven’t got one of those. I absolutely love those crispy sparkly mornings with the sun shining! 🥰💕 Lovely vid as always beautiful xx
Heyy Karen! Ahh thanks I loved this one so much 😍 I saw this tree on a walk and knew I had to camp in it haha. The Bushboxes are great aren't they :D I'm thinking about getting the titanium version at some point to shift a bit of weight. Same here, crispy frosty mornings are my fav. Thanks so much for watching my lil viddy and hope you're having a lovely week :) 🌿Claire
@@WildBeare I’ve got the titanium version and it’s still bloody heavy lol! Some of it is still steel so not all titanium but such great pieces of kit though and will outlive us I’m sure! Happy adventuring lovely one! 💕
So enjoyed your video, your love and respect for nature, and optimism. You are an exemplary human being. Beautiful angles and editing, by the way. And great drone shots. 👍❤️
Beautiful camp looked great. Just a suggestion I would have kept the tarp on the ground until you were done with the flying tarp. It was already wet but kept your ground dry then pick it up keeping the water inside and shake it out. You did a great job making a shelter. Another wonderful video have fun stay safe.
It's just incredible what beauty, what atmosphere you were able to create. This is truly a meditative experience watching you. I myself started making videos about my adventures in bushcraft, so I'm interested in everything. Grretings from Belarus tourist.

Great work Claire. Can I ask, where did your love for nature and the outdoors come from? It's obviously deeply genuine. Perhaps you could do a video to tell your backstory and how it all got started?
Thank you Jez :) I don't know to be honest 🤔 I used to walk around a lot in nature in pre-internet times before I knew it was 'hiking'.. I've never been one to fit in and I feel at home in wild places I guess, it just makes my heart glad :)
Thanks David, I loved this one too :D and was so thrilled to see the deer in person and on the trail cam 🥰Thanks for watching and have a lovely week :) Claire 🌿

I think this is my favourite one yet. Great spot and a great example of how little you need for a great adventure. Thank you for the effort and for sharing. I need to plan an escape! Soon 😊
Thank you so much! This was one of my favourites too so I'm so glad you liked it :) Happy camping! Claire 🌿🐻
Fantastic video! It looked so cosy. Nice to see the muntjac and the Roe which is my favourite species of deer.
😇😎
Your a real youtube talent, your magical channel gets more magical by each video. Thanks Claire 😊
Awesome camp that Claire. Loved the shelter. It's cool making natural shelters out of the natural landscape .
Thanks Dan, I loved this one too, loads of fun and so beautiful too 🥰Thanks for watching, have a great day! 🌿:) Claire
Magical! Thanks for uploading 🌲🐻

Thank you so much, so glad you liked it, I loved this lil trip to the woods 🥰Have a great day! Claire 🌿🐻
Wow.. Amazing overnight camping.. Oh dear,, i was in love your voice and your smiles.,,
Great video.
That was an awesome little set up! Looked so cozy 😍 Have a great week!
Thanks so much Vicky, loved this one, was proper cosy 😍 you too :) 🌿Claire
So beautiful. I loved the night sky. One of the perks of camping away from the city lights is all of the stars come out! Friend from Florida 🌴
Just want to tell you that I love your videos! You have always so amazing camping spots. You have inspired me to look for similar things close to my home.
Ahh thank you so much :D I saw this tree on a walk and knew I had to camp in it 🌳 Happy camping to you :) 🏕
the fort shelter was great. It is an art to make a decent shelter. Cant wait to do some camping and make some sausages over a fire again. Haven't gone camping in a while, I miss it. Great job on the video.
It is so cool to see a beautiful woman that loves camping and nature the way you do 😊
Another trip where Mother Nature started you out with adverse weather! Lol. Great place for a camp!! Outstanding job! Thanks for sharing
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! Remember if it ain't rainin', you ain't trainin'! I liked the idea. Loved seeing the deer!👍👍
Nice set up. Using that tree as a natural wind block is brilliant
Thank you Steve, I really loved this one :D perfect lil cosy nook for the night ✨🥰 Hope you're having a lovely week too :) 🌿Claire
Thanks for sharing your overnight camp, looking for your next adventure !.. Happy Trails
It's kind of wild seeing someone supplement their living by building a fallen tree fort the way I did as a boy. What a wild time to be alive. Cheers from the IPNW, U.S.A.!
Hehe, love it :D Best wishes from England :) 🌿🐻
The night sky was outstanding. Great vid. Thanks!
Best video yet beare👌 best camp too, so authentic building it in the rain, shelter needed, shelter done. Wonder woman!
Aw what a lovely cosy den! I would never have thought of doing that with a fallen tree! I love my Bushbox XL, I need one of those grill things for the top though as I haven’t got one of those.
I absolutely love those crispy sparkly mornings with the sun shining! 🥰💕
Lovely vid as always beautiful xx
Yes that was a Roe Claire.
Lovely camp, good on you for getting out.
It's just incredible what beauty, what atmosphere you were able to create. This is truly a meditative experience watching you. I myself started making videos about my adventures in bushcraft, so I'm interested in everything. Grretings from Belarus tourist.
Hi & thank you so much! This one felt special to me, kinda magical with the cosy tree-den, the frost, the morning sun & the animals, I loved it 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed it and all the best wish your film making, it's a great hobby :) Best wishes from UK :D 🌿 Claire
Keep up the great wild camping vids. You're my fav!😊👍🌺Wild Rose Country, 🇨🇦
@@WildBeare Not everyone can say they've found their true calling but I think you definitely can. 🦋🌱🦉
I was impressed when you kept going in spite of the weather.
What a brilliant camp set up loved it and seeing the deer what a result thanks for sharing.
Thanks David, I loved this one too :D and was so thrilled to see the deer in person and on the trail cam 🥰Thanks for watching and have a lovely week :) Claire 🌿
Watching you set up this camp was a pleasure. I have been camping for over 60 years and I never thought of looking between a double branch fallen tree 🌳 enjoyed this video 😊
So fortunate to find two trunks fallen parallel 😁
That was very nice Bushcraft shelter Claire. Well planned out. 👍👍👍
Very Innovative Claire, strong shelter from simple material. Tarp between the fallen tree is amazing. Good lesson in survival. Stay Beautiful , adventurous, and smart.
