Maybe the Novus Ordo Mass 'happened' so that the Modern Man, the present generation, could finally appreciate the beauty and sanctity of the Traditional Latin Mass. I think this is like the story of Job - God took away his riches then returned it tenfold. This is the time that it is happening - God is returning the richness of the Catholic Church, the Traditional Latin Mass, with more appreciation and attention than ever before. People who had not 'seen' but were willing to believe in the Traditional Latin Mass even if they were not born in its time is an absolute sign that God is returning the riches of this Tradition. I hope that I will see at last the return of this richness tenfold in my lifetime. Amen.
I actually prefer the Novus Ordo Missae. It’s extremely powerful if you approach it with reverence, both the priest and the Faithful.
@@jupiterinaries6150No, it's not. You are placing first community among men, instead of reverence to God, even if you don't fully realize. Messages are also corrupt. They tend to forget Tradition and teaching you how to sanctify yourself through Serving God. Instead, they prioritize service to people. That's not Catholic, that's Protestant, as respectful as they may seem.
@@AsturGalicia we serve God-Christ in the Poor and Marginalized. Jesus reveals Himself to the world in the Poor. I’ve been to many TlMs they’re nice but they’re stuck in tradition especially now. Radtrads just want the experience and not the Cross. The TLM makes them “feel” good. The NO was the best thing after Jesus that the Holy Spirit has ever done.

I get it that it works for you, but the millions of faithful Catholic worshippers over the hundreds of generations were what, missing something? P.S. saying I "want the experience and not the Cross" is just downright silly until you get to know me and my family. The TLM has brought the Cross to us, in so many ways, opened up a world of having Jesus with us every day, 6, 12, and 6. I'm a Catholic convert BTW so have traveled the full path from almost no Faith to a life focused on Our Lord and Savior. The TLM is a huge driver of that.
I am now 66 years old. I received my First Holy Communion on May 14, 1966 at a traditional Latin Mass. I have never forgotten the date. It was perhaps the happiest day of my life. I now attend Novus Ordo, but only receive communion on the tongue. I would kneel except I am old and there is no communion rail. Please pray that I would find a TLM and return to the rite of my childhood. I live in Cincinnati. Jesus, I trust in you!
Dear Philip, There are two Latin masses in Cincinnati, one at Sacred Heart and another at Old St. Mary's. Hopefully one is accessible to you. You should be able to find details at the Latin Mass Directory website.
Take your cane or whatever mobility device you may or may not have, start to get up as best you can, then wait for a charitable soul to assist you to your feet. If they are ignorant, simply wait.
I did a church tour while in Cin/KY area & old St Mary’s is BEAUTIFUL. The Church modeled after NotreDame took my breath away I was overwhelmed in awe and these churches brought tears to my eyes

I remember my first communion in the very late 1970s - the mass was Novus Ordo, but in this old church we knelt at the rails. But after my first communion and/or after the Monsignor died we'd line up like we do today in Novus Ordo masses. I've been fortunate to find a "TLM" near me, in communion with Rome and the local diocese. I'm thankful I have a choice, even though it's a bit of a drive for the Traditional Latin Mass. I wish you luck!
I’m neurodivergent and feel marginalized in a church that is too much like the modern world I don’t fit into. Latin mass is a refuge for me and its silence helps me focus and pray instead of suffering crippling social anxiety throughout the mass.
I’m the same. I get over-sensitized quickly and the Novus Ordo doesn’t gel with that - the TLM fits perfectly with my sensibilities as well as my aesthetic and musical taste. It’s the only thing to awaken my spiritual side and I’m terrified of it being taken away

I saw part 1 when it first came out and loved it so much. Episode 2 made me angry when I realized how much has been stolen from us. I'm 53 now and having lived all my life with the novus ordo, joined my local TLM parish which is featured in this production; the rector is also my spiritual director! My experience of Christ and the Faith has deepened. It's what I've been missing all these decades. I now have such peace and joy! Deo Gratias!

Yes! Our generation was raised in the post V2 heyday of tearing apart everything good- they speak a lot about the young people coming to the TLM but I love to see our generation coming back to what was taken from us!

Your help is in the name of the Lord, not in the form of mass you attend. It is the loss of reverence and casualness and sloppy interpretation allowed in NO churches that needs to change. Let the TLM inspire and enrich your faith and resolution to bring more good into the NO parish life and mass and root our the bad rather than letting your new found FAITH give you self determined permission to divide our Mother Church further.
I am a convert, and when I first walked into a Catholic church at 16, I was so disappointed. I was expecting the beauty and reverence I had seen in old movies, along with the breathtaking altars. I might as well have been in a Protestant church.
Thankfully, I found the traditional Mass years later and have never looked back

im Roman Catholic here in Malaysia even though Malaysia are majority are Islam,...yet im very proud to be Catholic.... im grew with Novus Ordo in my entire life...i did know there was Traditional Latin Mass celabrate here in Kuala Lumpur until i discovered it... when i attend the mass..it was so calm and absolutely astonishing!!

I’m 32, a Catholic living in Taiwan, my heart burns immediately after I watched episode 1 last year, so I began attending Latin mass as much as I can, receive our Lord on the tongue, went to the WYD in Portugal this year,and I’ve been learning to do the altar service ever since. Watching the Latin Mass online not knowing when I'll finally leave this place makes me sad. Things aren't going well. Scarcity of jobs, I haven't worked for almost a year now and it's affecting my spiritual life.

I grew up with the Novus Ordo just like so many others in the comments... i found the TLM when I was 20, not long after my grandma passed away... she was the last really practicing Catholic in my family, and she always told me of the beauty the Church once had. I was having a crisis in my faith through her passing, and i started asking all the big questions about the church and Mass.... I found TLM and it all made sense.... I went once and I never left. I fell in love with it so much that now im applying to the seminary so I can celebrate the Mass of the Ages. Deo gratias.... the TLM truly saved my faith!

The first time I watched this film was when it officially premiered & I left a comment about how beautiful it is to see families living out the faith with reverence, and at that time I was praying so my family could see the beauty & thanks be to God now we are officially attending Latin mass🥺🤍
I cried...Amazingly your opening of the film is where I grew up in that church, St. Francis de Sales in the 50's and 60's...Even at the age of 7, I could feel the presence of God there...I was an altar boy and also a 1st soprano in the boys chior there under the direction of Mr. Reuss...We sang latin during the mass and even learned Gregorian Chant...I had learned the Latin as an altar boy then Sr. Regina who trained us in the Latin then told us about the changes Pope Paul VI made...I felt the difference immediately about the celebration and the worship was NOT the same...It was the 60's of The change of the Eucharist of the Mass and the assassination of the President Kennedy that changed the world...Those two events gave the opening for Satan to make his move into the church to have the faithful fall away and the world morals to change which have been affected through the church...I've seen recent celebrations of the Eucharist today Novus Ordo, and the faithful falling away because the church seeks to trend protestantism INTO the church as it is thought to blend with protestants to bring them into the Holy Church, with no content of worship for God but for 'man' instead...Whereas TLM many non-believers, and protestants converted to Catholicism because of the 'reverency' there is for the WORSHIPPING of God...God NEVER changes, and the Word is we are here for GOD not GOD for man...I pray and Mother Mary, we pray to you that your Son, Jesus be with us who worship Him who is God who died and paid for our sins and ressurected on the 3 third day for my sins, OUR sins so we may be one day be in heaven with Him and the Holy Family...Your film is a Masterpiece! And awaiting to see Episode 2...May we ALL stay in prayer constantly with every breath for the protection of the Church to see the Mass is the preface of our faith, the solemnness, the reverence ALL should be returned for our King and Savior Jesus Christ to be worshipped FOREVER...Amen

Thank you for your testimony. I too grew up in the 50s and early 60s Catholic school Sisters of Mercy. Sadly the majority of Catholics today attending the NO do not believe in the Real Presence in the Eucharist.
I discover the latin mass in 2013 because of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I started attending the TLM in Geneva. My sons were confirmed by Bishop Fellay at St Joseph's Oratory in Carouge, Switzerland.
The TLM gave me and my family the Catholic Faith. The Mass has as its primary purpose the adoration of God instead of evangelisation, but that is exactly what converts people.
The same for me and my husband!
Attending my first Latin mass more then a year ago while here in college transformed my life. I was always fairly religious, but I was becoming a bit disillusioned with the Catholic church that I knew about. The hand clapping, contemporary music & etc that I was experiencing at my local mass (while not inherently sinful or evil) was simply not my cup of tea. At the very first TLM I attended, I had absolutely no idea what was going on the majority of the time. Nonetheless, listening to the chants & hymns, I felt like I heard the angels singing from the heavens. Seeing a full church (a rarity in Roman Catholic Churches these days), & seeing everyone actively partaking in the singing of the hymns, prayers, & etc was incredible. I experienced something so spiritually transforming that day that I still can't quite explain in clear words. I knew then & there that that was the Catholic Church my soul was craving. Since then, i've told everyone I know about the TLM, and I haven't looked back since!

I don’t know what the couple near the beginning was referring to being there for 3 hours. A low Mass is an hour tips and a half Mass a bjt longer. Just don’t want people watching to be hesitant thinking it will be a 3 hour Mass!

I remember the Latin Mass when i was a child, but when Vatican 2 happened i walked away for many years especially when i served in a combat unit but after seeing what men could do to each other i met my wife guided me back after stumbled along the way until i found the Latin Mass it brought my sense back
I attended TLM for the first time in my life last October at the age of 46. I grew up in Italy and I had never seen it before! I felt on the gate between earth and Heaven! Absolutely astonishing!! I can't wait for Sundays to come, so that I can kneel again at the feet of the Cross. Please Lord don't take us the TLM away please my good Lord!!!

I was born into and baptized at a Latin Mass church in the mid 70s. There were some still around and they offered English and Latin masses both.
This church had a giant censer,choir singing in Latin up above and it was beautiful. I even veiled.
A few yrs later,at 8 yrs old,at another parish and cathedral there was no Latin at all,or anywhere really. Now I'm in Chicago where there is only one TLM offered after ICK was closed and possibly more?
TLM must be restored at more churches and I pray that this Pope allows it.
@@jl453If you are still in Chicago , there is TLM at St. John Cantius Church ( 825 N. Carpenter St.[vicinity of Chicago/Ogden/Milwaukee Streets]). Church is old , beautifully restored and serviced by Canons Regular of Saint John Cantius.

This is an incredibly beautiful film; I have saved it to my favorites for future viewings. I will be praying for Kristine and her family; she seems to be doing an amazing job given the circumstances - I can only hope if (or when) I have a family of my own that my children will be like hers and her husbands. When I was a lad,
I've attended Catholic mass in English and it was known as the Novus Ordo and at that time I didn't know anything about the Traditional Latin Mass but after talking to several Catholics who attended the Traditional Latin mass, they told me that the Traditional Latin Mass is more conservative. And who else do I know is a Traditional Latin mass Catholic? Taylor Marshall. He was a ordained Episcopalian minister but he converted to Catholicism and became a Traditional Latin Mass Catholic. And I myself have been attending Novus Ordo mass for a number of years. So I think it's time for me to start attending Traditional Latin mass myself in my home state of CT.

My boy, turning 12, is now attending the children catechism class at the city Cathedral every Sunday afternoon. The Catechism starts with a Mass, and my son's told us that all children have never seen people could receive Eucharistic in kneeling with their tongues until they saw my boy's daddy did so. I mean, this is so sad and shocking to hear this😢. I have also heard from churches, very few left though, which do Traditional Latin Mass are packed with people, and mostly, the younger generations are seeking the traditional catholicism.

I appreciate this documentary a lot. I have always attended the Novus Ordo mass and have heard people speak highly of the Latin Mass. I have never been to one. My Dad said that's how the masses used to be. This documentary has helped me understand the appeal. I really enjoyed learning about it. 😁

I was baptized in 1964. After the changes the Second Vatican Council brought in my mother stopped going to the Catholic Church, as did my aunts, uncles, and cousins, so I wasn’t raised in the Church. In 1980 I was 17 years old and I went my first Catholic mass with a friend but we were shocked that women were in the sanctuary reading the Bible and handing out Holy Communion, and in the hand at that. I never went back. Two years later in 1980 a city bus driver told of a church that does the traditional Latin Mass , and he even took me there about four times for Sunday Mass. I knew it was the true Catholic Mass and the right place to be. I still go to that church today.

I made my first Holy Communion about 58 years ago in the Latin rite with Latin liturgr. I knelt and knew I was taught the host was really Jesus but I did not really get it until I was 40. I grew up with weekly mass and awareness of prayer. Growing faith requires constant feeding and self education if you are not in a famijy that soaks you in prayer life and catechesis. God has been with me all the time even though I did not understand it all along. Therefore, it is not the TLM itself, but the Faith of my environment. It is great to revive the TLM and have it available. A well celebrated NO with reverent and prayerful participants brings me just as close to heaven..
