My son attended a traditional Mass for the first time he was shocked that he felt he wasn't in a protestant church or rock concert loved it i remember my parents listening to Bishop Sheen all the time

@@mpkropf5062 I was raised Anglican and started exploring Catholicism for myself in the last year or two. My first experiences of the Novus Ordo (I went to two different churches) gave me the feeling of "this feels almost exactly like the Anglican services I've been to before"; The people seemed nice but the mass felt hollow. I've never been to a TLM (I'm hoping to if/when I can find one I can get to) but from the research I've done on it, it is the TLM that I was expecting from the Catholic church, with chant, lots of reverence, a quiet atmosphere that isn't focussed on the congregation enjoying themselves, etc. I went to the Catholic churches and ended up going back to an Anglican church because I saw no reason to go through the process of converting (and not being able to partake in the eucharist like I could in the Anglican church) to ultimately end up with an almost identical church/worship environment.
I've always been drawn to the depiction of more ancient Christian worship as shown in historical movies/TV shows (particularly from the medieval period) but only recently discovered that the mass I was drawn to was practically the same for 500 years and very similar in many places for another nearly 1000 years before that. I feel, as an outsider, that the Catholic church discarded it's unique and long history and replaced it with a catholic flavoured protestant service in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience and all it did was drive people out of the church.
I can only feel God when the mass is in latin having been brought up with it
There are very few (maybe none) men or women in the modern age (Radio/TV+) that are as eloquent or easy to understand as Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. He could make us understand incredibly complicated theological questions/theories and break them down so the everyman could understand. God Bless him!
I love this lesson from Archbishop Sheen! I first found it close to 10 years ago now, and it changed my whole understanding of the Faith and the Mass.

I invited my sisters and their boyfriends to accompany me to latin mass. I am fairly new myself so I'm writing something for them to read while being there in mass to follow along and to also learn and pick up a few things myself, of course. Thankyou! From the teaching alone, I can easily understand what is missing in Novus Ordo - good indepth teaching with an understanding of what we do, how we do it and the meaning behind it. "Memorial of the ACT" not Memorial Day. In Novus Ordo, people (not all) are not aware that we are bringing the total ACT into the present moment, placing us all there - in the exact moment in time and being One with Christ. I liked it when B Sheen said, "Christ would not give us a Memorial DAY, because he knows we have short term memories. True, it would have to be much more meaningful and profound than that. This is a very important session. The substance of what Bishop Fulton Sheen explains in the Offertory, Consecration and Communion remains true of the Roman Rite, whether celebrated in Latin or in the vernacular.
In reading several comments, there is only ONE Church, and the seat of the Roman Catholic Church remains in Rome, the Vatican. The laity or ordained should remain obedient to the ONE Church, the opposite is to protest, thus protestantism.
If it goes against God we serve God. Jesus taught us this. Accepting less is not acceptable. I will continue praying for Pope Francis and Rome
Hi Eric, your comment is not entirely clear. What is against God? What is against Jesus? Should we pray for our Bishops, Priests and Deacons? Absolutely. Does the Sacrifice of the Mass in the vernacular diminish the ordinary species of bread and wine becoming the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus? Absolutely not. In 1 Cor11, Paul is very clear - and as his ministry was to the gentiles, the vernacular was Greek.
Actually, if it was not for the Carolingian Empire, in particular Charlemagne, Latin would have faded in the Church.

I went to mass where Bishop Sheens tomb is. Beautiful cathedral. Sadly was a NO mass and it hurt to see the disrespect for Christ by a group of nuns taking Christ in their hands. Then no reverance right after mass with them being chatty kathies. Was much different from mass I normally attend

He is not alone !!! Pius 10 on the Errors of Modernism, Pius 9 his Syllabus of Errors and Pope Gregory 16 in his Encyclical “Mirari Vos” see #19 on the waldensians,the Beghards,the Wycliffites, and all the popes condemned the documents of Vatican 2 and the Synod of Pistoia and warned the faithful with excommunication, anathema if you don't reject the Vatican two documents, and church, and embrace the one true traditional Catholic Church, the depository of faith, before the end of your life.
As you examine these terms and then read the Vatican two documents you can clearly see the “definition” of all the above listed terms, but not the terms themselves, and the evil,and that it is no longer Catholic but a new religion that will lead you straight to hell !!!
The Vatican II documents : briefly

Then what are we to do you ask ?
If you are a true Traditional Catholic then you are supposed to do what the Blessed Virgin Mary told us to do, in these evil times, that she described at Fatima, in the “Third Secret”. Not the fake phony Third Secret that John Paul II falsified and Rewritten, along with the fake Lucia !!! But the real true Third Secret of Fatima. You are also to do what the Blessed Virgin Mary told us to do at La Salette, France and again at Our Lady of Good Success, who described in great detail what is to happen to the Catholic church at the end of the 20th century and she was 100% right !!!
What do we do then ? what did she say to do ? She said, to say the Traditional Rosary, not the rosary of John Paul II, the Traditional Rosary !! 15 decades, everyday or 5 decades on Monday, 5 decades on Tuesday, and 5 decades, on Wednesday. Since the Mass is the greatest prayer of all !!! you get the Saint Andrews missile (and no other missile) but the St Andrews missile, and you say Mass every Sunday (you're not able to consecrate) but you can still say the prayers of the Mass !!! From only the Saint Andrew's missile!! You can say the rosary, the Seven Sorrows of Mary, the Stations of the Cross, all at home. Have nothing to do with today's fake Catholic Church!!! NOTHING !!! This means all Vatican 2 priests and parishioners also the sspx, sspv, cmri, fssps… It will be a mortal sin and send you straight to hell if you go to any of these groups who support and embrace “Invincible ignorance” and also “baptism of desire and blood” that the Traditional Catholic church teaches against !!! You say your prayers at home, you stay at home, and you say your prayers at home, the Traditional prayers of the church and you say them every day. You read the Bible the Catholic Bible and no other since all other Bibles have been Rewritten with attacks againt Mary !!! and study the lives of the Saints of the church, and stay away from newly written or revised books on the market today !!! Don't buy any books on the market after 1960 !!!!
What about confession and all that ? You confess your sins to God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost using the prayers in the St Andrews missile, in the confessional which is in the back of the book, or you say one of the seven penitential Psalms along with the act of contrition. That's your confession, at home where you are safe both in body and soul !! For baptism you do the same at home with the proper, Matter, Form and Intent !!!
But whatever you do have nothing to do with the Vatican 2 Church sspx, sspv, fssp…. even if it's empty do not go in it !!! Judgment day is almost here.

Fulton Sheen on Vatican II. "The tensions that developed after the Council are not surprising to those who know the whole history of the Church. It is a historical fact that whenever there is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit as in a general council of the Church, there is always an extra show of force by the anti-Spirit or the demonic. Even at the beginning, immediately after Pentecost and the descent of the Spirit upon the apostles, there began a persecution and the murder of Stephen. If a general council did not provoke the spirit of turbulence, one might almost doubt the operation of the third Person of the Trinity over the assembly. (Treasure of Clay pp. 292-293)
The anti-Spirit still goes strong against Vatican II.
If Fulton J.Sheen were alive to see what that Council wrought, he might have back peddled that comment. Sixty years is an ample enough time to interpret the fruits of the Council, and by any
measure they have evidently not been good. Fulton Sheen, like many prelates of his age, were swept up by excitement of being able to live in a time of an Ecumenical Council, and the optimistic spirit driving a new decade. The 60s was not like the times of Vatican I, or the Council of Trent, or Constance, or Florence. The present world demands and expects the Church to update and revise itself to be relevant, and the Second Vatican Council, opted to do so by giving a nod to Modernism. While not taking anything away from Sheen as an inspirational speaker, and religious figure, I part ways with his view on the Council. Can the Church afford 40 more years of the Conciliar experiment to see how it bears fruit? Look around at the Church today and you'll get a resounding NO!!!

Ok let me educate some people here ....Vatican 2 in principle was supposed to be good just a conversion from Latin to the vernacular with minor changes here and there ...but a bishop by the name of Bugnini ( who was later confirmed to be a freemason ) acted as go between for the council and the pope ......he would go to the pope and say the bishops want it this way and go to the bishops and say the pope wants it this way .....BUT ULTIMATELY HE GOT HIS WAY ....and the bishops and the pope were too afraid to question each other if they really wanted it that way .....and voila we got Vatican 2 which deviated so far away from the truth it became a beast of a mass ....this is what happens when men are too prideful to ask the other if that is what they really wanted ....Satan won ...he implemented the FALSE mass .

Not sure that this really promotes the Latin mass specifically besides the railing part other than that it mostly describes the importance of the Eucharist which could still be said for the new mass.

Not for nothing it could be a TLM somewhere in Austria. I'm pretty sure that in the late 18th century, the leftist HRE Joseph II bullied Rome into granting a special dispensation within the Archduchy of Austria declaring that women no longer have to cover their heads in Church .

With Altar Rails? It looks the same as the Traditional Latin Parish that I Attend. There is no Novus Ordo Mass said at the Parish that I Attend.

This broadcast is really doing a disservice to Father's words, as they kept getting broken up, missing very valuable words of Jesus. Is there a better version? Thank you for trying, at least.
How interesting that in a religion where god does not have a corporeal body at the beginning, and does not use tools or physical means or labor or effort to create the cosmos, He creates it through his Will. He wills into existence, much like how it does take effort to imagine or create a plan idea or creative work in your mind, but does not use any substantive means. And yet, it is not purely a meditative completely empty unconscious willpower. God didnt silently and unconsciously and randomly will the world into being, as if destiny or chance just sparked his creative act. Similarily, when we have a eureka moment, it seems to be spontaenous but its not. And it seems to have been created from something before it, a process, but it is not. It is indeed a actual work of generation and creation, but it is ex nihilo, something real from nothing before it. This all christians believe.
Jesus does all of his miracles not with magic or with spells. But with his will, and he does involve intermediary species and accidents. He heals a woman through her cooperation and the fringe of his cloak. He heals others by saying "let it be so". Just like god the father, but because he is a man too, he works wonders in a more bodily way in addition to the will or fiat that is divine.
In these two cases we have the Deus (god) or the divine (godrelated) beings or acts being done or created. Healing is a supernatural act, and creation is a divine supernatural act. The actor in jesus is both divine and natural, and so his actions likewise are divine like god in gensis but also natural, he uses his hands, mud and spit, words. Words are a big one here. Because the species of Christ so to speak, is the Word, the word of god.
We have the natural interacting with the natural but in imitation of the supernatural by the command of the divine. This is any miracle or action done by a mortal, to a non human or another mortal. Through natural means and cooperaiton, but with divine will from god above as the source of power and the physical accidents as the delivery, even a prophet or a writer of scripture, it is the gospel and the biblical stories that are the word of god, the truths within, the books and letters translation and pen and ink are the non divine thing that inscribed the divine words.
And then when Jesus at the most important covenant sacrifical passover, heavily associated with salvation and death of firstborns and delivery from slavery and uh, the whole business of this god weve been reading up to the last supper.
And when Jesus says to someones bread that it IS his body, and he is God. And this is his blood, and his blood is the blood of the lamb. Suddenly it becomes unbiblical to take this literally as a miraculous act of change or transformation because its the most important thing and last thing he did before his death, and of course every other time god talks whatever he says infallibly and absolutely occurs instantly and supernaturally bound by no law and subject to no limitation. But at the LAST SUPPER, its symbolic?
At the FIRST SUPPER, where jesus said THIS IS NOT MY TIME (the wedding at cana) he didnt even do it himself, he just told olther people to take water from a urn and it became wine. Not symbolic wine. Not red water. Wine.
And that was not a miracle he intended to do really, he did so at marys intercession.But when he says "I HAVE GREATLY DESIRED TO CELEBRATE THIS PASSOVER WITH YOU" and at that supper multiple times says that, a time is coming, the betrayer is coming, i am about to be delivered onto the enemy, i will be taken away, this is the last time before the big event basically.
And of course, that time. He wasnt doing anything special. Hes just takes baked goods and wine, very seriously, seriously enough to distract him from his last meal before he dies.
Yeah, ima think the Catholics are not just right, but they are absolutely correct about this idea.

Cardinal Ganon said they set the bar of what seminaries should abide by and are truly Catholic. I love listening to Archbishop Sheen, a true man of God. He, along with Mother Angelica, should be canonized Holy Saints.
