    This is such a well done video! Thank you so much! I’ve always loved making knitted and crocheted potholders and dishcloths and I have a very large collection of instruction booklets and patterns, both new and vintage. But I have never come across this particular potholder before and I am so happy to find it! Such a simple idea but I certainly never would have thought of it myself! LOL Thank you again! :)

    Hi Sara cute project thank you

  • @carlrichter7803

    I like to use wool yarn for my hotpads. My mother in law told me that if I was going to make hot pads I should make them out of wool because it's safer than acrylic or cotton. She should know because she is around 80 years old. I did make some out of wool at her behest and it saved my husband from some serious Burns when he accidentally set the stove on fire

    • @SaraSach
      @SaraSach  Год назад

      Yes wool is great. But keep in mind it will shrink /felt when you wash them.

    • @carlrichter7803
      @carlrichter7803 Год назад

      Which is another reason I use wool. They won my husband used when he accidentally set the stove on fire had felted. So it had shrunk down to the perfect size for a hot pad and being thicker it protected his hands more

  • @bearteddy1992
    @bearteddy1992 6 лет назад +1

    You can use acrylic yarn for hot pads, I've used it on my own counters and set pans straight from the burner on to them...it will melt if flame touches it.

    • @SaraSach
      @SaraSach  6 лет назад +2

      You can use Acrylic yarn if you want to, it's your preference, but I do not recommend it.

    I want to make this as a gift but have some questions. How sturdy is this to wash? Is it machine washable and dryable? Since this is cotton, I'm assuming there may be some shrinkage. Does the shape hold up?

    • @SaraSach
      @SaraSach  4 года назад

      I have washed mine many times, but it depends on the quality of the cotton you use. Cotton does shrink some.

      @@SaraSach I'm planning to use Sugar & Cream, like you used in the video.

    Can you do just double thick? Also, do you have any patterns for doble thick pot holders? These are awfully cute!

    • @SaraSach

      You can do 2 layers if you like, I prefer the triple layer myself.

      Sara Sach Easy wash cloth or dish rags? I know that you have alot of patterns but I need quite few so they need to be cute but easy. I need some in black and white. Thank you for getting back to me! 😉
