    I absolutely love the vintage look of this potholder! I was born in the 1950s and this reminds me of that era. I'm a beginner crocheter but I've already made three of these and they turned out very well . . . so nice that I can give them as gifts. Thanks for your easy to follow instructions and your sunny personality.

      Jayda i found a 5 weight cotton yard and would like to use this pattern. How can I adjust my stitch count to accommodate for the bulky cotton yarn? Also do you think using weight 4 will be thick enough to use as pot holder?

    Hi Jayda!! So glad to see you ! My husband and I just got back from our first cruise to Bermuda It was a wonderful time and so much fun . When I first got on the ship 🚢 I saw a woman knitting I went up to her and I told I crochet and she said every morning there's a group of us that will get together on the deck by the pool to knit and crochet it was fabulous I can only explain it with 3 words OH MY GOD !!!!! And the Cruise was absolutely fabulous 👍

    I just love vintage. I remember having something similar in our kitchen growing up. Oh, the memories! I'm so excited to finally know how to make these! What a great pattern Jayda! I can’t make it and get it to my mom in Florida in time but no worries there. I have made a gift bag that I am filling with dishcloths so I am going to make this one and add it to the rest. She is getting something else from us for Mother’s Day so she won’t suspect a thing when this gift arrives a little later! Your sweater is beautiful! How are you liking your new hooks?? Happy Mothers Day to you and yours!

      HI Thea! What a sweet thing to send your mom! Who doesn't love to get care packages in the mail :) I'm really enjoying the new hooks, thank you for asking! I find my grip is looser which is a nice bit of relief :)

    I'm thinking of using this stitch in a straight across pattern to make placemats for my Fiestaware. The straight rows with the alternate raised row makes for a slight art deco look. Ok, maybe that's a stretch but I'm going fo r it! ;-)

    I love the pot holder buy I’m having trouble with the middle holes lining up like yours.
    Both sides of mine have same number of stitches and the 3 in the middle.
    Am I missing something?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  6 лет назад

      Hi Randa, if you're finding the middle stitch is moving to one side or the other, you might have made a miscalculation a few rows back. If there is nothing wrong with the counts in any of your rows, it might be a tension thing, which will disappear once you've finished and start using it (or block it if you're giving it away :)

    Love the video. Is this pot holder thick enough to withstand extreme heat using to remove items from oven?

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  3 года назад

      Hi! I would make 2 of these and stitch them together if you want to pull things right out of the oven with it ;)

    I am about to start making some potholders...do I have to put insulated fabric in side? Your pattern looks great and I can hardly wait to get started. thank you.

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  4 года назад

      Hi Terry, if you're worried about the potholders being too thin, you can always crochet 2 identical ones and crochet or sew them together. You don't need to put insulation in the middle, unless you want to pull things out of the oven with them (but I don't usually recommend crochet for that because the stitches just aren't thick enough and there are often spaces between stitches and you don't want to burn yourself!)
