at roughly 6:45 you say that "Caleb says...not well received" but if you zoom in to stage right's seating, my wife and I are actually HERE at this service, and for a Saturday 4pm service, we had roughly 8-12% more then normal attendance! I'm usually able to arrive at 3:15 and be one section more centered and front row (I have ADD, I need as little as distractions as possible to get the most out of the messages.) I digress, Elder Tra W. is seen every weekend practically, and because he has 7 kids, 6 girls (not 5), he has his tall black well-used MB Sprinter Van that anyone who parks on children services side, has to walk passed to get into Gateway. Yes we see him all the time, but have never heard him speak before. Keeping in mind that Board of Elders mostly consist of non-staff members, few on-staff elders, but Tra is one of them. And this was WELL-RECEIVED at main campus live. Can I say ANY broadcasted message ever has the same impact as live??! It categorically does NOT. That's why we go to 4pm Saturday service most often. At times when wife is in choir, I'll attend a couple or few services, the claps we gave live don't happen on other services, RM's little puns or jokes don't get same laughs as LIVE does?! So my suggestion to Caleb is this, start attending LIVE services at Southlake Campus at 4pm on Saturdays!!! You're probably ADD or ADHD too?! But to speak on behalf of 100,000 attendees is rather bold, especially since I was there in person when this actually happened. How do I know it was well-received? Well, we had one service song, then a meet and greet after we prayed corporately for those next to us, then Tra gave his message from the Board of Elders (who are the oversight, not same as staff, nor same as Pastors on staff, all different areas), then our Swedish Pastor gave an incredible message THEN we finished our worship set with Pastor Mark Harris, his son Matthew, and his daughter-in-law Jessie Harris!!! and the kids that were there, bit by bit they did something I'd never seen in 13 years, they came to the front of the stage and worshipped God up front, and with a FULL heart of praise and worship! And I'd love to see us change our service pattern to this, it was that incredible!!! And guess what, it ran 25 minutes LONGER than normal, but nobody started to leave early like often happens at end of services!!! So yeah, I'd say that it was well-received in person!!!

Let’s not forget that it was Cindy’s dad that chose not to go to the authorities to have Robert arrested, but allow the pastor and the elders of the church judge the matter (1 Corinthians 6:1-2).
Let’s also not forget that on October of 89, after the church’s pastor and elders had “judged” Robert, completed the restoration process and release him back into ministry, that now PASTOR Robert, for SEVEN months (something Cindy and her dad must’ve know) and his wife went to Cindy (now three months shy of her 20th birthday) and her dad’s home to ask for forgiveness. By ALL accounts Cindy and her dad forgave PASTOR Robert. Everything is possible, but it’s hard to believe that Cindy’s dad would grant Robert forgiveness if he was so much (according to Cindy) against him being back in ministry as a pastor. Of course he is now dead and has no say into Cindy’s allegations, now in 2024.
So my question is, if she does not dispute that as an almost 20 year old “young lady” she and her dad forgave pastor Robert, what exactly, now at 54, is she after trying to crucify and destroy pastor Robert’s ministry and life because, supposedly, 16 years after “forgiving” him he would not give her fifty thousand dollars to help with the treatment for the damage that Robert supposedly inflicted on her?

    • @smileybits7833

“Crucify” and “destroy” his ministry? That man should have NEVER had the opportunity to be a pastor again after what he did, that’s the point. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that he shouldn’t receive the consequences of HIS sin. After doing what he did to her, he got to go on and live his “best life now” meanwhile Cindy was left in the background to pick up the pieces. Whatever is happening to Robert now, is his fault. No one else’s than his. This is what happens when you ignore biblical requirements and let people slide for committing terrible acts. Whatever is occurring here is truly deserved. Imagine practically destroying someone’s innocence and potentially derailing their life and you can’t even muster up the money to pay for their counseling, something they have to go through because of YOU btw.

A 'pastor' ?? with an accumulated wealth of 117 million? Ahh, I don't think so. That, on top of the verified allegations from the young girl of 12 at that time in the 80's, now in her 50's, is mind boggling. This man should never have been l placed in authority over anyone, let alone Christian parishioners. He's in God's hands from here on out.

I've always found satellite churches problematic and something that strikes me as more of a centralized control mechanism as much as anything else. When demographic changes pointed to the need for a new church here, we did not rent a hall and do a video feed from the existing church. A new priest was brought in and a new church was organized in the part of town where it was needed (CCOP Sen Sok, if you are ever in Phnom Penh). It seems like megachurches want to grow to the size of a denomination, but maintain the level of control over the members of a single local church. Fly by wire may work great, but I don't see worship by wire in the same light.

💡My suggestion to all Christians: Ask God to show you yourself and your heart. Allow God to work on you. Take your feelings, thoughts, words, and actions to God in prayer. Sift and process them through the Word of God. Let God Have The Final Say! "Judgment must begin at the house of God...the righteous shall scarcely be saved" (1 Peter 4: 17,18). Peter is telling us that the "Church" is going to be judged. And that the "Church" is in trouble.
🙏God, I ask You in Jesus' name to show me myself. God I give You permission to work on me. Sift me through Your Word, change me, prefect me, and conform me into the image of Your son, Jesus Christ. God do the same for the writer of this prayer, all my family, and friends. Bless us with the love, desire, and strength to respect and honor You in our thoughts, words, and actions. Thank You Jesus. Amen, so be it by faith.

We go to a satellite campus. Our campus pastor spoke as well. The elder was received well at our campus. Our campus leadership had a sign up sheet to meet one on one for any reason. I have been completely impressed how the current leadership has been addressing this tragic event. Everyone has been blindsided from the top down. Everyone I have spoken to has felt utterly betrayed by the details that RM kept hidden from everyone. Also everyone is making the assumption that her age was known by the SG pastor/elder. I am leaning to believe no one knew her age and when it started except for RM and CC. I don’t believe that Cindy revealed the details of How long it went on or the age of her when it started when she told her father in 1987. As a SA victim myself some details may have not surfaced until after years of therapy. To me this explains why her parents didn’t go to the police because they must have believed it was all around the time she told her parents which was when she was 17. From what I have read TL believed it had started when she was 16 which was the age of consent of the time in Oklahoma.

Scripture does not require anyone be restored to leadership nor does admitting guilt relieve one from the consequences of one's sins. More people need to reflect the words of the Malefactor on the cross, even as he seeks forgiveness, "we receive the due reward of our deeds." Take the punishment due. Seek restoration to the assembly. Never be in leadership again. Never.
