We did a watch party to watch a party. You read that right. You saw Jesus and the disciples celebrate the Feast of Dedication. Episode Six brings a lot of joy. There’s prayer and storytelling and song and play. Unfortunately, there’s also trouble.
Here’s what we had for you at the live stream:
- EPISODE SIX, “DEDICATION”: Jesus and the disciples celebrate Hanukkah. Matthew confronts Judas about irregularities, and the festival turns into a fight, then flight. The disciples escape with their lives, but learn a friend hasn’t been so lucky.

Sweetie, don't wait until tragedy hits to strengthen your faith. I have always been a Christian, but last year October, I was 41, I fell so hard because of trusting people instead of only God. He picked me up from face down in the mud, and literally all I can think about now is God and how I can spread the Word. As long as you keep Him above others, your faith with flourish. Trust me, living a lifetime of casual Christianity is NOT the answer. Bless your sweet heart to know what is needed for a good life at your age.
May the Lord strengthen your faith. Amen 🙏🏾

For those who overcome the church I will give you to eat of the hidden manna. Ok. Manna is bread from heaven and we need to eat that to be raised up on the last day. and he is the manna that fell from heaven. Jesus said if we do eat him he is in us as the father is in him. his flesh is bread his word are food we read his words in scripture so scripture is bread. Apocrypha means hidden. So jesus has given and we need to overcome the church then we eat This bread If we accept that the Apocrypha is inspired by God and let him be true and every man a liar.

What is "the answer?"
For me it is that God is indeed
as extra merciless
as He is extra merciful.
When He is merciless to you...
Well...
you know...
precious precious people take their very lives
Yet we could say He is merciful to those who succeed
-but that is still deeply disturbing on so many freaken levels
and we could say He is merciless to those who attempt to take their lives and fail and are left in an even MORE debilitating and crippling condition.
What is "the answer" to everyone else?
glad i waited to watch this episode at home, had to pause when mary said "i hurt inside, why? and Jesus replied "because you're listening", i just became overwhelmed and started weeping.

@@peji636 do you hurt inside watching others reject the message of Christ? He was talking about His sheep hear His voice, and those that are not His sheep wont listen to it, all the while the religious rulers refused to listen to Him.
@@peji636Mary’s listening to Jesus and following Jesus and so she’s hurting. She’s listening so she’s understanding what’s coming and so she’s hurting. Following Him is hard and you will be hurting if you do but the end will be victorious. Those who are not listening are fine going about their daily lives unaffected…
Judas can't let go of his own way. He doesn't surrender to Jesus' way.
Judas was chosen. Never forget that, although he did all that was said, he was chosen because he would. He was an important part of the journey of jesus, an important part of fulfillment of the prophecy, and without his sins , wed have no sacrifice.
@@beentheredonethat5908Here is my two cents, I don’t think so that there is a chosen for that. Jesus could still be crucified without the help of Judas. We are all human, and Children of God.. God has a will for us. And His will is not to fall into temptation and sin, but because we are too stubborn and has a free will. Most of the time we fall to sin and couldn’t get back on track and chose not to run to Jesus because of how stubborn we are and ending up to be in hell. Judas could still be save if he only run to the Lord. I don’t think God created Judas to be that Judas the Traitor. Judas the Child of God becomes Judas the Traitor because of the poison of the world. That is my two cents… What do you think?
@@beentheredonethat5908also as you can see on this series, Judas has to option to Listen, to his Mentor ( Worldly Man,) or to Jesus.. and it was obvious who he chose.. although it wasn’t on the bible. But Judas still have an options, to chose Jesus or his worldly desire. That is why Jesus taught us to die on ourselves.

It will continue to be pain and injustice till the end of the age. Read the book of revelation and it explains that "Blessed are those who die in the Lord" (Rev 14:13) and "These are the ones who were beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God" (Rev 20:4). The first beast, the antichrist, the man of lawlessness, will be given authority to make war on the saints and to conquer them (Rev 13:7). But be assured that just because it may look like we're losing in the physical world, we are winning in the spiritual. Don't get caught up by what your eyes see and hear but keep your mind on the things of God.
They have to carry their crosses like Jesus did. He came to show them how to do it by doing it Himself

I accepted God's answer to my prayer..("No") It took 20/20 hindsight and 60 years before it clicked and I could see how HIS plan was better.

So you just said in your h comment that sometimes you didn't accept the answer but through 2020 hindsight and time you realized God's plan was better. Great... so you were still wrong when you didn't submit to the answer that was given to you before that. God doesn't have to explain why he's doing what he is doing or why you should submit to his a answer he gives. That's Peter's point in the scene.
And by the way ...we're not talking about some supernatural experience anecdotal answer , the answer is not some personalized message or voice...it is The Spirit will lead you to scripture. In the case of the scene It's taking place during the time of direct revelation which means that includes scripture already established through the profits and the direct teaching of Christ that hadn't been recorded as scripture yet.
In this same Peter isn't talking about should I get this job should I do this thing he isn't talking about that stuff he's talking about the questions we have about established teachings are answers given to us by God that's what he's talking about. In the scene Peter is telling Thomas he needs to submit to the answer that Jesus gave him whether he likes it or understands it To not do so is sin it's okay to question the answer is not okay to not submit to it.

My eyesight's not so good and voice text is horrible so I often have to go back and edit things and then I also figure a better way to say it so I reword it so it takes me a while

I think only the premier episodes should be in theatres because it kind of knee capped this season for many who did not get to theatres...which was MOST of the fans around the world. Because so many scenes had been leaked, or exposed this season while it is great, had felt more like watching reruns....it LOST all the shock and surprise we all felt when we saw Jesus walking on water as an ENTIRE COMMUNITY.....this time around only the privileged few got to have that. I am fine with the premier being in theatres....but not all the episodes before MOST get the chance because it ruins it for the rest of us.

I always thought Thomas was strangely morbid for saying that when I read it in scripture and I couldn't understand. Then my husband died and I wanted to be dead and gone to be with him, not in a morbid way, I just wanted to fast forward to life after death when I'd be with him again. Since then when I read that quote from Thomas in scripture it no longer puzzled me, it made sense. It makes complete sense to me that they'd have Thomas loose Ramah.
Thomas says it in John 11. The way this show is done certainly attaches a different feel of emotion to it, doesn’t it?

This is what I love about The Chosen... They touch on many, many other Scriptures, even outside of the four Gospels... even from the Old Testament!
It even seems like they sneak it in subtly sometimes. I love it!!!
I hope someone who reads this and is not familiar with the Scriptures will be inspired to read and study the whole Bible. There is NOTHING like it!

It totally makes sense that they would touch on OT scripture because the OT pointed to Jesus, and Jesus was the fulfillment of the OT.

I haven't. The Bible tells me all I need to know. I don't actually like the way he is portrayed here. This 'Jesus' character is too flippant for my liking. I watch it to see the other characters, just for fun really.

As a result of this episode, I learned a lot more about the Feast of Dedication by first referencing the scriptures (John 10:22) and then doing further research on Hanukkah / the Festival of Lights. Didn't quite look like winter in this episode, but I enjoyed the show. Watching the Chosen should lead you into a deeper Bible study.

i love how Noah talks. my goodness, he barely uses any fillers. he’s so articulate
I loved it when Noah talked about the filming of the scene of Lazarus ressurection as feeling brought back to an event that actually took place 2000 years ago . Obvioulsy the Holy Spirit was on the set ( the wind being a manifestation of the spirit of God ) that day and He is workings on actors 'souls . I feel conversion are happening slowly but surely . God is the best director of people souls . 🙏🙏✝✝
As a person who is getting myself ready to enter the seminary, this season is preparatory lesson on how it looks like to be following Him. I must be always listening and following Him as Mary, unlike Judas not leaning onto my own understanding and trying to do it on my way. I will keep this lesson in my mind always.

I have cried, and smiled, and pondered so much since I began watching The Chosen. And I thank all of you for this gift you have given us. I make mistakes, I sin, I repent, and I try harder. Every single day. You don't need to know my story, we all have one. I just want to say thank you, you have brought Jesus back to so many of us who may have lost sight or hope. Jesus didn't tell us it would be easy, but he prepared the way. Jesus was the OG of Mapquest, because he tells us all, if we listen.

So many Catholic's which I am, (devout) just don't know the Bible.. hopefully this show can touch the many ŵho have never cracked the Old testament as well as the New... .
That's your problem, man... stop making an illusion. We Catholics don't know the Bible. We are asked to read the Bible every day, apart from daily readings. It's us who's not giving importance, not the church.

I am a Catholic and I have read the entire New Testament long before Fr. Mike's Bible in a Year podcast. Three years ago, I have completed the Old Testament. Listen to Fr. Mike's Bible in a Year podcast. The Catholics are not prohibited to read the Bible...the Bible is also read during Mass; and it's daily. Take the effort.
My friend I was not reading the Bible 3 years ago til my conversion . Now I've read the entire new testament 3 times ( and I'm still reading it everyday ) and guess what ? I've found out that many protestants don't really know it ( especially evangelistsand baptists ), they just know by heart some verses . They particularly ignore the many verses about the Eucharist : I still dont' understand why they reject the blessed sacrament . The eucharist is biblical . And I 'm not even talking about the verses about Mary . A woman ( probably baptist or evangelist ) didn't even know about the Cana wedding which underlines the powerful intercession of Mary to Jesus ...

I haven't watched "The Chosen" series yet, but saw a comment that people shouldn't look to these actors to find Jesus. I saw "Jesus Christ Superstar" when I was 7. It changed my life. For people to see the New Testament played out in front of their eyes, it WILL for some, finally *click* and bring them to Jesus whether the actors themselves are Christian or not.
It's God's will to use bad for good, but we aren't supposed to be expecting Him to fix things to make them good. If you're saying putting out the truth is unimportant because God will fix it isn't what we're told. It still requires our behavior and what is seen is people being content with a different gospel and a different Jesus. Paul literally warns us against this type of thing. 2 Corinthians 11:4
If your "Jesus" is flawed, He couldn't be the perfect sacrifice to pay for anyone's sin debt. Read the comments. Some may read the Bible but this is still their Jesus or they are clearly using this as representation instead of Bible reading. It's been clear people completely miss the intended messages of the actual Christ teachings and opt for this different gospel, sympathy for the devil and all.

I loved this episode I'm ashamed to say I did not know Jesus was stoned I watched the episode read in mathew about this. I loved this episode it was so powerful. Thank you for letting us know about this wow it was so great and we'll done wow again.
The Bible says they tried to stone Him but he slipped through the crowd.
I find it interesting how when Jesus was telling the story of the few warriors banded together to fight and restore the altar of God, Judas was on the team, when he betrays Jesus in the end.

In the opening, I think this is the first time we've ever seen Matthew initiate a hug! He throws out his arms towards John, in gratitude for the gift. It made me cry way earlier than I expected. Beautiful.
the scene where Jesus is watching the shepherd was one of the best things I've ever seen. He's just taking in the sight with such enjoyment. Judas doesn't want the kingdom to come for the right reasons, he just wants a seat at the table, a portion of the spoils.

I never knew the cast was so talented that they could really sing and play instruments... and role-play! I like the transition from funny moments at the beginning to the intense scenes at the end. It made me read the Bible again. It's getting really exciting!
