chad is smiling like a kid opening Christmas presents when driving this truck . what an awesome surprise gift from fab rats
Paint it blue again don't fix the dents then where it's dinged and dented do a faux patina! Like Steve Darnell does on Welderup
True!
I'm not sure Paul was being kind or playing a practical joke.😂

That is a good question, imagine what Robbie Layton would be going through getting a truck in that condition. I think Chad don't need to be stored in climate control garage ready for car show. 🤔
So much fun to see Chad having fun like he would have had as a teen. That truck sure brings a smile to his face...
New Sub, thanks for the content. Paul encouraged us to help you on the 100,000 Sub push. I can't imagine anyone more deserving, you and your crew have helped so many others so many times. I'm glad to be on board.
Who knew it only took a little bit of BOOST to make Chad feel young again. Keep smiling Chad. I think you need a tire sponsor.
Boost makes a lot of things better. I'm really going to need a tire sponsor with this truck in my life.
I love the way Chad Gets in Gonzo and shows everyone how to do a burnout. 😂🤣😁😆😅🙂😂😁
Gonzo is a great name for the truck. 😊
When Chad was driving his truck....the smile on his face said it all.
Awesome start on fixing up your new truck Chad's Fab Crew...we love how you got it, who it came from and why it was given to you. Watching you restore it, fix it up, making it how you want it and then driving it is going to be a lot of fun, quality RUclips content. Rock on!
Double like. Perfectly said.
American racing mag style is the finishing touch for ANY HOTROD! Great choice in wheel style👍👍….clearly you can take the man out of the little kid but thankfully you can’t take the little kid out of the man👍
I watched your face when Paul told you it was yours. The look was priceless! This was the best 56 minutes I’ve spent in a long time! Congratulations! You deserve it for all you have done for your friends and family. It will be with much anticipation waiting to see you make it all you have ever dreamed about.
Thank you!
Chad’s nothing but smiles, pulling doughnuts, discovering the gas gauge works and the windshield has a crack from side to side, all good 👍
This truck really brought out the “wild” in Chad!!! And the smile on his face tells the whole story! Good job Paul for a great gift!
That fender repair needs a Robby Layton “approved “ sticker !!!!!😂
🌴Aloha from Hawaii💚 a well needed break to watch your channel. Amidst all the chaos we're having from our tragic fire disaster.💙thank you for being such a beautiful family and sharing your garage❤️Have a great week!
Chad, with your magic touch and determination you going to have a fine classic when completed! Can't wait to see this baby come to life! Well deserved my friend, love your channel and God Bless your family!
That truck looks so fun and Chad looks like he's having a blast! It was so cool to watch you help Fab Rats with this build and then them give it to you at the end of the build. You do Alot for other channels and it shows you and your work are appreciated, you definitely deserve that truck Chad.
I can see you working on this over the weeks ahead until it's minty. Super cool truck and so sweet of Paul and the gang. Really shows their respect for you.
Said it before .... Most UNDERATED family in the auto 4wheel drive world . Love your family values and your knowledge with these classics. Glad to see you like the two wheel peel too !
No matter what the lying fake stream media says, there's still so much love left in this world. Plus this truck was saved from death.
As always amazed by the depth of the skill and knowledge. Also fun to see Chad play with his new toy. 'Let me fix that while I'm in there'. Will be awesome to see where the truck ends up.
It’s good to see Chad overly happy with a project, those were beautiful trucks when they came out, I was 8 years old when they hit the streets
Chad has a new project, I’m going to enjoy watching every show watching him and his family build this truck fab rats gifted him with. Just amazing people doing great stuff and passing it on to great people. Just wonderful people, thank you for sharing it makes my day better watching your videos
I got to say I love how Stacey/Mrs Chad gets involved with everything that's going on in and around your work shop, and I have a feeling Mrs Chad likes the truck Paul gave you and I expect I'm like so many other people I love it when I get some vacation time I have to travel to your neck of the woods and drop in on you if possible?and meet Paul and family and the fabrats crew you guy's keep me entered for day's I'm definitely a car nut so I think that's the reson I Love to watch yourselves pPaul at fabrats and Matt at Matts off road as long as I can get some photos of all you guy's I would be the happiest man on earth, I am a bit older than Moston you beautiful people but i try to learn something new every day even at 70yo it comes in handy at time's.
Respect to those who can set up a Posi. Great old Blazer.
The built was really heart felt and the love and appreciation as well ..God bless
You no when you’re watching a video and you don’t want it to end this is 1 off them videos. Love chad and the family
That's awesome Lab Rats to do that for you guys. I really enjoyed stopping by and in visiting with you guys looking forward to coming back out get that truck box that we talked about
Chad showed everyone how to do a proper burnout, with a huge smile and a good dose of right
foot pressure, measured in foot-pounds. Can’t wait to see the finished truck.
When it's running good, I want to see Chad write his name in cursive, if he remembers cursive, doing a burnout. Watching Dusty and Chad bomb around town with big smiles shows you don't need a $ 50,000 truck to have fun.
Man, that truck is absolutely ROWDY, what an absolute monster. I love it. Wheels look fantastic too, I've always been a huge fan of those AR 5 spokes.
The old torque thrusts are pretty timeless.
@@chadsfab Agreed. My pop built a '39 Ford Deluxe into a hot rod when I was in high school and those were his first choice of wheels at the time. He's swapped em out for steels with chrome rings and covers since, but to this day I still much prefer the Torque Thrusts.
I think this is my favorite channel for repairs. It seems to be fun not work. I know everyone works hard but seems to enjoy it
The smile Chas has on his face while driving says it all!!
I'm sorry CHAD
Thank you fabrats , this is a awesome looking truck. guess everyone can see , its in a home where it truly is appreciated.
Nothing like a good friend giving you his toy that you have been admiring so you can make it your own 👍
Making something work...versus....Making something last...is why I SUBSCRIBED to Chad's Fab!
That truck looks so cool and Chad looks like he's having a blast! It was so fun to watch you help Fab Rats build it
lm always struck by the thought ''what a great family'' when l watch these videos like no other. This is what blessings tenfold looks like.
So pleased for you with this gmc, made me tear up watching fab rats with you in it 😊
Nothing can turn the whole shop into a bunch of giddy little kids like a new hot rod to play with. I love the name, and once Chad works his tune magic on it, this truck will rock!
I just stumbled upon the origins of how this truck got tk you. Gave me the warm and fuzzies. I don't know you guys from Adam but am happy gor you folks. That's a gem of a little truck.
And i for one appreciate the public service announcement about the broom. Had too many apprentices who were apparently allergic to brooms. And that's a terrible disability to be born with.
Love that Paul gave this to you. Fun stuff.
Brought tears to my eyes when Paul gave him the truck. Chad deserves that and more he seems like a good man, husband, dad and a friend. Thank you for all you do and for sharing your videos. God bless you and your family
Thank you!!
You couldn't smack the smile off Chad's face. Priceless...
I absolutely love the name Gonzo for this truck! It fits perfectly!Gonzo was always my favorite Muppet as well lol
I might be a little bais since I own one but I just love the look of these GMCs! That truck looks like endless fun, enjoy!
Chad's smile said it all...that will be a hot truck when you finish it...
It was sure good to see all the smiles. Makes it all worthwhile. Great to see something come back from the dead, Can't wait to see it all beautified.
Since we live in the hood... Cut to mountain view out the garage door. Chad is the king of droll, love it
The BIG smile on his face when he behind the wheel is priceless!!!! One happy camper
Great fun watching all of you work! Its easy to see your happiness with this build. Glad that I met you guys through Fab Rats!
Can't wait to see what all you do with this truck its gonna be awesome to see! Love the name and the rims to!
That was very nice of Paul and Michele to give you Gonzo! That is truly a nice truck!
As an Aussie, that's my favourite saying, which I hung on my shop wall when I had my business: Good Better Best, Never let it rest, Until your Good is Better & your Better is Best!! (it was cast into the end of a Furphy water cart many years ago)
Love that!
I just love that little rye smile Chad has when he drives it. It is awesome.
Hi Chad, I really enjoyed this video and am looking forward to seeing you and your team give some more tender loving to this ole GMC truck. She is a beauty that’s for sure. You seem very happy and its nice to see you get some love back for all of the good things you spread round the RUclips community. You certainly deserve it, and it was very nice of Paul to give you this truck.
I true enjoy your videos! Your burn outs remind me when I was teaching my new bride of 4 months in the spring of 1974, how to drive a manual shift as the two cars I owned were both 4 on the floor. Our small (little) car was a Dotson 1200 cc while my car was a 1969 Chevelle SS 396ci 420 hp I bought from a weekend road course guy. Roll cage, Hurst shifter, extra strong racing clutch, 411 rear end with L60's on back, H60's on the front. She had practiced with the Dotson until she felt confident in her ability to drive it anywhere. After a Saturday baseball practice at college, I left it on the street and had it running for her. I got her strapped into the Chevelle and explained she would put the clutch in reve it up until the tack needle was almost to red line, then let the clutch out. Not thinking about the clutch being so strong, it took her using both feet to push it in. She got to just over 4000 rpm and unlocked her knee. Needless to say, the clutch snapped back, turning the L60's into blue smoke and lifting the front end about 18 inches off the ground. I could see her screaming and she quickly turned the engine off. The Chevelle continued to roll down the street for almost a block! I was laughing so hard when she came storming back, she kicked me in my knee walked into our apartment, and locked me out. I had to beg to get my keys back to bring my Chevelle home.
I found a 68 Chevelle Malibu with a Summit 350ci 420 hp, almost 2 yrs ago. Very little rush which is not normal for old cars here in Michigan, and took it to my dealership I have used for over 20 yrs. They worked on it off and on for over a year, replacing brakes, seals, shocks, gaskets, resealing the gas tank, restoring the heater and rewiring most of the car. I was working on it lately only to find when starting it my tail lights were on but there weren't any headlights. Could I have a switch issue or is it a bigger issue. At 71 yrs old, I'm not into wrenching like I was a number of years ago.
The mountains in the background while doing the burnouts was beautiful!!
so.....what did we learn? Check and rebuild your pinion when you replace the rear tire you have burned up.
This is so much fun watching Chad with his burn out truck. Love it. 😀
I love that Chad's team are working on the upgrades on the '65 pickup Paul and the Fab rats team built, along with Chad and are giving it plenty of Love. Really like the Ramrod style mags he installed on the truck. Sweet!
This is so awesome Paul and the fab rats you can just see the childish grin coming off of Chad’s face the entire time love it ❤
🤣 "I'm good at voiding warrantees" ... Me too Chad 🤣
That truck is definitely worth the effort ✌👍
The difference between boys and men the price of their toys... 🤩🤩🤩😍 If only it was mine... but I have never been allowed to drive it on the street where I live
Thank you for the words of wisdom. Truly enjoyed watching you. Enjoy your gift from Paul. Very wonderful day stay awesome.
Just tuning in and I can Feel the FabRat smiles in the first few minutes….way cool😎🇺🇸😎
I know that smile Chad has when burning rubber in Gonzo it's a kid thing, this is an awesome truck so many things you can do to freshen it up & still keep it old school like Crusty, I look forward to watch what Chad & the boy's do, thank's for sharing God bless ❤😎👍
Really nice new/old school mag wheels. A great choice!
This is a heart warming video. I love the happy laughter while driving down the highway checking out the truck.
Happiness. I love this channel. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟❤️
Chad, you're so well deserving of this gift from Fab Rats! They appreciate you as much as we do! Your a good guy with a good family! I can't wait to see what touches you have in store for this old baby! Til next time, take care, and we'll see you on the next...
A nice gift from the heart to a nice guy with a big heart.
@FabRats delivering more smiles than miles traveled to Chad. Greatest thing on the planet
Yes Chad I'm going to have to go with Mom on that one. At least in my house Mom is a textbook when it comes to English education:) love you guys. When i saw you take out the Porto Power and the Mallet I was thinking 🤔 Bobby Layton eat your heart out... Tap tap tappy tap. 😊
When your through rattle can spraying, turn the can upside down and spray til nothing comes out!
Keeps the sprayer nozzle from clogging. That's your tip of the day...👍👍
That truck pulling in after Chads burnout reminded me of Christine returning to the garage after a kill...
Congrats Chad, you deserve it very much. I am so glad that you got in with the bunch. 🤣🤣You and your family, add a great amount to the bunch. Especially the technical side. Enjoy your truck. Love your smile and the guys smiles that go for a ride.
I’m glad that you put that positive traction in there, man that is a awesome ride, congratulations to all of you, I can’t wait to see what you guys do to it, fixing it up is going to be great, personally I think orange is a nice color with tan interior, that is my vote!
The expiration on your truck is my birthday 😂
That’s awesome
This was one of your best shows yall. Alot of fun watching you have fun.
> * * * * You need to try the Baseball Bat / 2x4 Fender Clearance Tool , it also rolls the inner lip in so it won't cut the tire if it contacts .
Got lot of work to do, but what a great start. Love the channel!
Really appreciate you explaining what you're doing with the gears step by step.
Great Content 💯and Video
BA Big shout out to Paul and the Team, Chad his Team and Family is definitely 👌 deserving, Glad I could be Able to Watch You
Have a Great Day 👍
God Bless America 🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸
Hope u fully redo it...even though it's awesome now. We can see how much you like it. A Smile ear to ear
Acting just like the rest if us with a new toy , like a kid ! Right on Chad . Have fun with your new truck 😁
The GMC will be a Fun Build ! It's nice looking truck now . Thanks for sharing . I also like the Patina it has !
Liking those burnout smiles. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this video about some of Gonzo's upgrades so far. Rough going over the bumps. Tires and rims look chuff. Paint color options: Chad will probably research original color, on the vehicle: white, blue, red, teal, rust brown, most likely off white. Envision significant interior and bed changes. This gift will gradually become more personal and special.
Waiting for some Chad, Dusty, Robbie nuggets.
There you guys are. I've ben waiting for your next video to come. I'll let you know what I think at the end . 😮
That was a nice visit and I did learn something about differentials. Thanks Central California watching.
I’d like to see a factory production video on how they put axles and differentials together.
Been fun watching the massive snow pack melt away in the back ground of your videos!!!
This truck in a new white paintjob would be amazing. Then some new tan seats and it would look absolutely gorgeous. A Gonzo sticker on the tailgate. Some blue pinstriping. Oh my.
Hope you plan on painting your truck it would really look nice !
👍
Been waiting for this video, big time 👍. Chad I loved the use of the torch for the close ups. So often the camera isn’t picking up what’s going on under the car or inside of parts, like transfer case etc.
it would be great if camera operators could zoom in more or use that small torch when filming.
Cheers & love the video. ❤
Thank you Chad and family.
Really enjoy watching your videos. Paul pulled the Slick one on you. Working on your own truck.
It'll look sweet when it's all done.
Take it to Robbie Layton have a cherry black for you.
Thank you better by semi load of tires though.
Thank you all.🙏🏽🤙🏾👍🏽🤘🏾🤚🏽👏🏽👏🏽✌🏽😊😎🙋🏽♂️.
I live by this my model..
If you go to do something wrong do it right.😉🤷🏽♂️
Love the comment - “You can’t have enough good friends”. So true. 💪👍🏼
I owned a ‘66 Shortbed stepside Chevy back in the ‘90s. I miss that truck something fierce.
This project has got my interest like no other.
Enjoy the blessing.
I cant express my joy enough knowing that Chad gets to have this dream car. Little did I know till the first video of this truck that I ALSO want a C10 (?) Loving this content, Chad your videos and soft spoken attitude about everything is something I look up to and look forward to every week
With perfect panel work like that , Robby will have you on his team in no time.
Best part of the episode…if you’re standing around, pick up a broom. 👊🏻
You know I have the same wheels on my jeep I’m a little older than but it must be the time we grew up we all like that five spoke look. 😂😂😂😂 but that looks awesome
Pretty darn cool, we love old iron. A porta-power, a hammer and a thought process fixes most stuff...great video, great truck. Thx...
Loved watching you build on your own truck, and now carrying on with the improvements.
