- After putting off a leaking rear axle seal way too long, it was time to get it fixed, and throw in al locker while I had it apart! Perfect timing for fresh snow to test it out as well!
Yup i run a dana 60 8 lug on my tdi ranger.
Nice!
Fun deal all around.😊
For sure man!
Fattys on a light truck in the snow, results are typical. I have 33s on my locked Comanche going taller and skinnier soon. Chain that thing up 😊
Definitely!
You got some pretty amazing vehicles man! Have you done any compound turbo setups? Been searching and searching but can't find too much. I bet compounds would be great in the chevy and they'd help you get some lower egt's and make it even better at towing. Not many videos about towing with a tdi swap other than the videos you've got!
Thanks man! I would love to mess with compounds, I just haven't had the time to mess with it just for the time involved and wanting to build the engines to handle more boost. I hope to start experimenting with compounds on my next build though!
Love the Toyota build man makes me wanna swap mine so bad
It makes for a pretty sweet daily!
I bet if it had skinnier tires and was lowered a bit would get 3 or 4 more mpg.
Yeah but I can't go lower without rubbing the frame on these tall tires, gearing would probably be a better option then I could just run a smaller tire
What diff gears are in the Toyota? I have an 84 4Runner that I've been kind of thinking about a TDI swap.
I have 4.10s and 33 tires, it could be a little lower gearing for 1st but 5th on the highway is about perfect
In the process of getting my 93 toyota pickup swapped with a 1.9. Just curious where did you get your front bumper setup? Or is it custom made
Ya it's custom, and if I could do it over again I would get the intercooler built into it to get better airflow
@@TDISwaps sweet thanks for the info I’ll keep that in mind!
@lucidflicks no problem man!
I’m thinking about buying a 2002 jeep wrangle alh clean asap. curious to know if these are reliable as a daily? do they require as much maintaince as your regular jetta alh or is jeep more because of wright?
Ya jeep is definitely more maintenance, and it's not aerodynamic at all so fuel mileage is pretty bad for how small of a rig they are, but they are a blast to drive!
