from Canada. enjoy the videos you make. wish I was your age, I'm 77 years old, you make me feel younger, , thank you so much. always wanted a unimog but couldn't afford it all my life could I wanted one, never had one.............that's why I watch your videos. thanks.
Reminds me of my offroad training at the German army, using a U1300, driving was 20mins and recovery took 3hrs, using two more U1300 hooked in tandem to my back. We tried hard to get my bottomed one pulled back until one forgot to release the parking brake on his, ripping off the caliper, a piece out of the brake disc and bent the wheel... We managed to get a Kat1 that hooked to my front and got me out in no time then... 🤣🙃😛
i like the rattle can spray scheme..you never cease to amaze..still think you are so over looked in YTs madness selection..you are one of my favorite tubers..
In my opinion it looks pretty good just the way it is. KJ. Let's face it. We're sitting here watching you mess around with your Unimog. We're ALL nerds.
KJ. I have exactly the same Mog. Camo scheme is actually 3 color. Never noticed till you mentioned it. It was brush painted. Still getting to know the truck. So video was great!
you are being more consistent with your videos, Thats a good thing! Smaller but more often makes people keeping interested and reaching to a bigger audiance with time!
Lately there has been a good bit of stuff to film :) I do try to upload something, every 1-2 weeks. But somtimes, the projects just takes a bit longer to get finished :)
The trailer seams a lot practical and easy to set up . even though its a few decades old . Looks a lot better than the sankeys that we pulled around in the 70s .
I like the camo for at least some of your vehicles, especially if it used to have camo and was legitimately used by the military at some point. It deserves to have the camo
In the mud bog: engage low range, first gear, all the diff locks, release the clutch slowly, keep the revs up with the hand throttle and you will be out if there. I drove Buffels, which were build on a Mog chassis, in the SA Army. A Buffel weighed 6,5 tons empty, and I never had a problem with being stuck. The power tube driveline is amazing.
Great vid KJ - I really thought this was a purpose built trailer built by Mercedes for unimogs. They go together perfectly. I love the new paintjob, it looks perfect for the whole setup. Happy birthday by the way. We can tell you're both having a great day.
You can use that plastic tube wrap for electric cables on those trailer chains it will stop the noise. Also that blue truck has alot of potential as it is, that box config is amazing and the cabin quite spacious, its formidable for a utilitary camper truck. I wish i could own one :D also i had a laugh when tou said with such good weather .
You have a nice collection of army vehicles, you should add Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer to your collection. I used to drive it in the army - great vehicle for off roading.
That trailer is so good compared to Australian Army trailers that we pulled behind our 6x6 trucks in the sixties and early seventies. Does the spare wheel on the trailer go around the other way? The gap behind it suggests to me that it is probably designed to have the spare tyre wall compressed onto the front trailer board, thereby ensuring it is held very securely and not able to swing on the two bolts if the nuts are ever so slightly loose. I was in the Australian Army when the Germans and Americans were demonstrating their tanks; Australia was about to purchase new tanks around 1969/70. The Germans had a couple of their trucks and trailers which had a similar tool fixing arrangement to that of your trailer. But instead of bolts, they had quite large wing nuts which could be quickly undone by hand; a very neat and practical arrangement. I like your paint job, keep it.
Camo is the go. Don’t remember if the Magirus has an air system (probably does). But would it be an idea to install one on the Hummer so you can utilise all your vehicles for towing. I would certainly watch your manufacture and installation. I’m in Greece atm and many farmers here have a small Unimog for field work. Do know what model it is? It’s only around 4 metres long. Love your channel.
Yes, The magirus already has air for the trailer. And as for the Humvee. even if it did have an air system, it would never legally be allowed to tow that trailer, on the road. So theres no need to put too much effort into that :) If those unimog's have the same style of cab, as the one in this video, they are most likely 406 models.
I don't think this one was ever really used at all. But with nothing extra mounted to it, it seemingly didn't have any special purpose, and was probably just for general transportation of stuff, into the field.
Oh haha, well, the main idea is to have the trailer, for when we take the Unimog out, to display it at events. just to make the whole "Cargo-truck" setup look at bit more interesting. But also, if it is a several day event, that trailer can hold all of the camping gear, and keep it out of sight when not in use. Other than that. it can of course be used for just a bit of extra capacity, if i have to haul somthing with the mog :)
The mog is reted to carry 2.5 ton. while the trailer is rated to carry 1.5 ton. These are "Off-road" ratings. so on solid ground/road. they can probably take a good bit more. (But with no ratings for it, it would still be considered "Over-load")
I dig the Camo, I vote to keep it, curious what color green the Danish military uses. Is it an Olive Drab? Or a NATO color? Plus the 2 color camo with the black looks great!
We have out own color, thats a bit more green than OD but also a bit lighter than the Nato Green. And yes, we only use green and black. we don't typically have brown in our camo.
I like the camo pattern you have sprayed onto truck and trailer.

Same.

Keep the camouflage. It suits the vehicle.

The Mercedes and the Deutz diesel engines just sound fantastic 😊
Can't wait for more Magirus content 👍🏻
Happy Birthday! It's a perfect combination!
Cycle inner tube is good for covering chains to stop the noise
Great idea !!
AGREED !
Exactly, that is what we do on old Land Rovers
Yeah, i will have to cover them with something. that noise gets pretty annoying :)
That hooking up with the trailer went really smooth. Well done with the aligning by eye, and then the satisfying 'clink'.
What a cool way to spend your birthday!! playing in the mud with trucks. I usually go wheeling on my 'day too. keep it up!!
Was in Germany in 1975 and a convoy of Unimogs coming the other way for 5 minutes. In Greece a local farmer took me for a ride in a 401.
That camo paint is awesome! And i had no idea a trailer could be as cool as a Unimog, but now i know better. Happy Belated Birthday!
Belated happy birthday KJ. Camo for the Win! Take care & stay safe.
KJ. I have exactly the same Mog. Camo scheme is actually 3 color. Never noticed till you mentioned it. It was brush painted. Still getting to know the truck. So video was great!
The Danish Army very rarely uses brown in their camo. Most are just a 2 color, green/black camo. And this particular one also had the 2 color camo 🙂
you are being more consistent with your videos, Thats a good thing! Smaller but more often makes people keeping interested and reaching to a bigger audiance with time!

Happy birthday from France. That Unimog-trailer combination looks absolutely fabulous - I love it. The camouflage colours suit the Unimog to.
Definitely keep the camouflage scheme, I think it looks just perfect, and also matches the trailer very well.
1 vote for Camouflage 👍 happy Birthday 🎂

Happy birthday! 🎉
Tillykke med fødselsdagen 🇩🇰 fed video som altid. Du har noget sejt legetøj 💪🏻
they look well to together nice video thanks
Liking the army camouflage! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!🍰
Nice video! I have a 1961 404 with a Dutch military ( Marines) trailer. However the original German one tonne round- hood types are the nicest!

i agree with many others - camo looks good on it

Happy Birthday KJ, from Canada 😀

Happy B day KJ
Definitely the old camouflage pattern!
Wat you need in one of them BIG " snatch ropes " = LOTS of noise and extra fun !!
What more could you need for your birthday 😂
Camo is a good choice!!! lfg!!😄
That's a cool trailer
The camo looks good 👍
Either version of It’s Danish camo pattern is more fitting than just green.

Behold camuflagen! Jeg lå og sov i den trailer 1989😊 Bor nu i Stockholm. Så gi endelig lyd hvis du vil Overlander i nærheden af Stockholm
Hi
You can slip a bicycle's inner tube over those tailgate chains (10:10) and they'll become much easier to live with.
You should get a kinetic rope like Yankum ropes ( USA ) but I'm pretty sure someone make the same thing on your side of the pond.
Get the camo back on the unimog (great review of the trailer too !).
to stop the tail gate chains from rattling , Thread some soft rubber tubing oer the chains
Хороший выпуск! Мне кажется, на прицепе нужно поменять колеса на чуть больший размер и без агрессивного рисунка протектора, на который налипает грязь.
Your tailgate change put them through a piece of rubber hose and that'll stop the rattling noise when you're moving
Nice camo
Looks good
Camo all the way
Cool!
Camo is the go.

just put a bit of bicycle innertube over the chains - makes them a lot quieter
Feliz Cumoleanos !
Nice setup with the Unimog and new trailer, also like the camo on the Unimog!
Any special use to the trailer?
I don't think this one was ever really used at all.
But with nothing extra mounted to it, it seemingly didn't have any special purpose, and was probably just for general transportation of stuff, into the field.
@@KJOff-Road my question was a bit poor I think, do you have an special plan/use for it? 😉

It's original paint scheme was camouflage so I think it should be put back in camouflage.
I think you should paint the camouflage , it suits this vehicle
A good set of tires would make a world of difference
The Unimog looks the Poodles Privates in the camouflage paint, and it looks proper with the trailer. What weight can they carry?
The mog is reted to carry 2.5 ton. while the trailer is rated to carry 1.5 ton.

A 25 pounder would look good on the rear end.
You went through all that to move the trailer 150ft.?
impressive mud, just get stuck on level ground
just put on a piece of hose to those chains.
You have the wrong tyres on the mog for this terain
Indeed.
What company built the trailer.....?
The full name of the company is "HMK Bilcon"
Army wouldn't have even used rattle can.
ya need new tires for unimog. with out good tires its very baad to drive in uk rainy forests
I do. These old tires are really terrible.
That chain rattle is anoying. Slide a piece of 25mm low pressure rubber hoes or Kevlar sleeve over the trailer tailgate chains.
