@@DannyLeeOGT I know exactly how you feel. We are very protective of John. Anyone who takes the micky or says anything negative about him gets an earful from anyone of a true fan. He seems like a cool fellow. Seems like he does his homework and is good at letting a conversation flow naturally. Of course, John seems like he would be a pretty easy guy to interview. Very easy to talk to. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. 👍👍
Michael Parkinson WAS 'the' TV host in Britain and was well known in Australia as well. He had all the major stars on. Just so you know. He only recently died.

You can tell how nervous John is in front of British royalty! I'm interested to see him as he settles in - Parky was one of the best interviewers ever with his knack of making his interviewees relax and open up.

Parkinson is a good interviewer, you don't have to worry about John, he's just about impossible to insult because he doesn't take himself seriously, he can laugh at anything including himself.
You are spot on,John’s always been a nice guy he really doesn’t put on any pretentious airs he’s just very down to earth and real he is who we see a bloody good guy and we love him. Im chuckling over your comment regarding the difference between Kiwis and Aussies when everything’s said and done that’s not a helluva lot cross one and the other will tell you where to get off pretty quickly. But when a game of Rugby is concerned Kiwis are Kiwis All Blacks all the way and Aussies are Wallabies no question. 🌸🙂
Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed my take on the Kiwis and Aussies! It's true, when it comes to Rugby (footy), they definitely have their own fierce loyalties. But hey, let's not start a war over it, right?
Aww Danny, you're wrong about the Brits. Their humour is similar to ours - self deprecating, tongue in cheek. It's understood that the "insulting" comments, like "collecting useless information" is in inverted commas. Or accompanied by an eye-roll emoji🙄. We all know it, we're all in on the joke.
Yeah. And I'm talking about like a group of 8 of them. l., o., L. So I'm not speaking for the whole bunch. I've seen many videos where they make fun of how Americans talk and Americans are disgusting and filthy and all these things. LOL. But again the few I know are really good people.
There was a time between being Johnny and becoming John, that he was basically broke; scrapping by, doing small shows in country pubs. But during all that time, not once did he bemoan his circumstances.
Yeah, I remember that interview being the first time that he hit me how hard he had struggled. you know, before I knew about Gleen and everything and seen the movie and done, I think like 75 I see reactions now. lol
I'm glad that John has overcome the obstacles in his life. I am willing to bet he learned a few things on those small country pub shows that helped him when his popularity exploded. Thanks for watching. 🙂🤝
Hello 👋. Thank you for watching. What October Ends song are you suggesting? If you could provide a link that would be great. If not, the song name would be fine. Thanks again! 👍
I'm just rethinking what you are saying about Aussies disappearing off the radar when they go O/S, I've just had a penny drop moment. It's because our culture and airwaves are flooded by American and British artists, because they have the might of huge record labels and advertising behind them. The exception was Rage, a Saturday morning show on the ABC (our federally funded channel) that played music videos, start to finish - no ads - for 3 or 4 hours straight and played a lot of Oz and Kiwi content. But if you didn't watch Rage, you could be excused for thinking our little antipodean corner of the world was a talent free zone. It's a shame we no longer have Rage, cos I'd watch it, but there it is.
Yeah, I really hate that for you guys. I mean. it's just so weird here. We don't really look at things that way. I mean, every newscast has three or four different people from different cultures and races and I don't know of any shows that are American or if they're made somewhere else. or if the actors are from America. So I guess there really is nothing that's. quote, unquote, American. I mean, there are a few things, but we don't like categorize it like that. And I understand why. I mean, we have access to everything right here. but it's not because we think we're better or our athletes or our artists are better. Well almost all of our music that we listen to comes from other parts of the world. I've never really categorized music in geography. And to be honest, if I wanted to see more Americans do good in the world because, say, we lived on a continent, layout in the ocean, well, it seems like if an American band or an American actor got famous and moved. to wherever everybody is more privileged as far as celebrities go then we would cheer them on. Seems like that would make it that much cooler for that show. You're forced to watch all the time, to have an Aussie on it. And I really wasn't like thinking about that or anything. I mean, John literally said he didn't want to be part of as an outcast and he almost like used the quotation marks air quotes. So to me that says that that's kind of a part of the culture. If you leave, he knew he took a chance on everyone outcasting him. And that's the way I took it. But I love John. John is amazing. Want to do some stuff with Olivia Newton-John too.
Here in the states we had something called Friday Night Videos. It was an hour of nothing but music videos and a bit of chatter in between. My Mother, my sister, and I would watch it on a black and white TV in Mom and Dad's room. What's funny is that s LOT of Aussie artists were featured. I grew up watching videos by Midnight Oil, Crowded House, and Icehouse, and had no clue where they came from. So doing all of these reactions for the Aussie Army really does feel like things coming full circle. ❤️🤝🇦🇺
@@oglschmitt that's interesting. Was there any significance in the channel it was on? Rage was carried by ABC (govt funded channel, fondly known as Aunty, after Aunty Jack) because they could, and it was the broadcaster that defied norms and pushed boundaries.
Like you're joking Mate-Marco Parkinson had the most famous talk show in England for many many years. As I said from that day until this one-John Farnham is true and honest 4 he is still the same person-50 years of being a gof,-has failed to destroy this man's true intentions I tell you
I appreciate your passion for Marco Parkinson and John Farnham! Their contributions to the industry are indeed remarkable, and it’s great to hear your perspective on their enduring legacies.
It would be better if you kept notes and just did a reaction at the end. You interrupt the conversation John is having far too many times and although people came here to hear your reaction, it is still annoying as shit when reactors stop and start the play every few seconds. The better reactors on youtube hold back until the end. If you just interrupted once in a while, fine, but not all the damn time.
By "better" reactors, you mean the ones that you prefer. Danny and I are the opposite. We were influenced by reactors like The Charismatic Voice and Lost in Vegas who pause during the song to provide commentary. To me it makes more sense to vocalize the thoughts when they come to you as opposed to trying to remember them or write it down, both of which would take your attention away from the video being reacted to. We have given this a lot of thought, and we are trying to pause less and make our reactions shorter, but we also want to provide something of substance. Our approach isn't for everyone. Reaction videos aren't for everyone. Still, thank you for taking the time to watch the video and comment. 🤝
@@oglschmitt Well not everyone would agree with my way of thinking and I appreciate your kind response to what I said. I didn't mean to sound harsh, but giving a perspective that you might not have thought about. Obviously you have and you are find with the way you create your reactions so that is fine, no more said on the subject. Have a nice day.
