Man and his band are monstas...saw him up close and personal at Chickeewawa in N'awlins, Writes fabulous songs, sings his ass off, and is still not very well known in the mainstream... just about says it all 'bout the music business these days.
I saw these guys in Melbourne at manchester lane on the same tour. So damn good I went back again for all their other shows! Cornell C rules on bass and backing vox.
Been lucky enough to see Jon and his band a couple of times down under in Aus 👌 As an old Pom (English man ) good to see an old boy from Kent in the homeland go quite so good 👏 go man go 👌

jon cleary is not promoted enough. he's a ex-pat Brit, belongs in new orleans, and bonnie raitts players usually dont get enough recognition. I saw him do this in NOLA and I couldnt get it out of my head. Went straight and bought it at the airport!
When I first heard Jon Cleary live back in 2007, I told him after the show Help Me Somebody was some of the best fun Standing up. Years later, it was just as much fun to record live at The Basement. Enjoy!

Willy, you're so right. Can't believe I said that he was a native... I knew better, when I first met Jon, back in 2006, well before I recorded these sessions, I knew much of his life story, growing up in Newcastle, well before leaving the UK, arriving in New Orleans before his 20th birthday.
