- Another HOT Jon Cleary performance live from The Basement night club in Sydney Australia. I recorded Jon for the LIve At The Basement TV series after see him play there in 2007. I told him, his show was some of the best fun I've had standing up. Those of you who've seen Jon live, will know what I mean. The song 'When You Get Back' was written by Jon about a girlfriend he was to meet-up with in New York - she didn't turn up.
In a perfect world, this would be a huge hit.

The radio has been dead for years. I stopped listening some 20 years ago…and recently, someone was playing the radio in their car and guess what….still the same music!

Saw them at bluesfest 2008, same tour as this show I think. Blew me away / stole the festival and got me into deep south funk.
I heard these guys in New Orleans they were awesome can't wait to see them again. This is how music sounds when you have real musicians playing with feeling. I love the dynamics the harmonies everything about your music and Jon's vocals you guys are the best.
Next we'll travel back in time and teach the audience how to bop their heads to the groove..

Saw the same thing - same line-up and song,two years ago in London,when he and Dr john were on the same programme - what a gig!! Both amazingly good - eat your heart out,Jools, now here are people with real talent.!! Wouldn't have missed it for the world and this song and performance epitomised it.
Aw, now, I never cared for Jools H. watching him on British TV, but when I heard him on "Uncertain Smile" I gave him another chance!

Recently have a great pleasure to see hin in my country RIO DE jANEIRO ; BRASIL in Rio das Ostras Blues Jazz Festival. I am a great fan from Jon since fisrt time when hear in 96. He have a essencial pure NOLA ´´´FEVER´´ . Come back more times
Look, I stumbled upon his name on one local small jazz fest in 2015 and the only thing that made me notice him was that my friends found his name funny. No big deal, forgot it. The next day I heard a strange jazz song but I liked it. I never really listened to jazz before. It were my friends who googled him and played the first song that showed up, just for fun. I later listened to it and I loved it. The adventure, the solo and the excitement really got me. Since then I got more interested in music and also jazz and this was and still is my go to perfect jazz performance and I know it by heart, every note. And here I am, listening to it after seeing la la land because it reminded me of this song. The jazz side is so well captured in the movie I just cant get enough. I hope I will see him live some day.

I've been obsessing over "If You Want Me To Stay" for the last few days, playing it on guitar and drums and improvising over it. Sure enough, this song is that progression in Gm.

It's a lovely mark of respect that he calls his band the Absolute Monster Gentlemen (Or 'the genermans'). Smokin' musicians every one.

Just saw Jon and his band in Indio on Sat. March 24, they rocked the house! His other songs were just as good.
