@@koonta6079 He may have finished what I started, glad to hear LG still lives there, he's a good bloke, hard place to leave..great fishing off the deck & watching a bit of tv..
@@perkar49 Good to hear, I meet Lindsay & Tania in mid 90's while staying at the camp and fishing and invited back to their place for a wild pork roast as the weather in the tent was blown in. Good people, Tania moved on years ago, Lindsay still there painted and doing artist stuff. Great location.
Thanks for showing some more places I have never been too in NZ .. I don't travel far from Whakatāne to fish but look what I'm missing out on 😬some beaut kelpies and a nice release 🙂 🎣
Cheers mate. We love traveling, exploring and sharing our experiences. Hopefully it inspires others to get out there. Whakatāne is such a nice place to live - so much to do around there.
Appreciate this video bro, I plan to do a coromandel trip this year and this video will definitely help, good on you for releasing that beautiful snapper at port Jackson.
thanks for the great feedback mate. It's always a good feeling releasing the big boys and watching them swim away. Those bigger snapper could be 30-40 years old. They deserve to live in my opinion, unless they are unlikely to survive the release. Hope you have a great trip to the Coro this year, exploring all these great fishing spots. 🤙
check out my other video about fishing spots in Golden Bay, South Island. In my opinion that's the best area to target kingfish on fly rods. You can sight fish for them in the shallows, it's amazing.
@@matthewslatter8791 you’re the clown mate. I don’t know why people are so discrete about it, there’s fish a plenty, it’s about sharing mate the sea is not yours. It says a lot about a person’s personality on the little things...
It's funny how some people think that fishing and camping spots that are regularly being featured in magazines, on TV and pretty much everywhere else are top secrets, eh.
It’s just a few of the more well known spots of the many spots available to fish up there. It’s not all about the spot anyway, more how and when to fish them.
New Zealand at its finest, great video Cheers.
We lived at Fantail Bay in the Ye Olde Stone Jug as I renovated it, fantastic fishing, my best was 26lb..Snapper. 60 lb Kingi off the rocks.
How awesome it must have been living in a spot like that. Pure fishing paradise.
I thought Lindsay renovated that place, still lives there spoke to him on side of the road 12 months ago.

Nice video very good fishing my friend
Many thanks, appreciate the feedback :)
I'll need to check those out, maybe the kayak or drone.
yeah perfect if you take a kayak. For the land based fishing spots up there you don't really need a drone. Pretty deep water straight off the points.
nice work... and snapper too, good on ya for the release.👍
thanks for the feedback mate! I watched your video about Fletcher Bay the other day. That was a stonker you got off the rocks there.
It's beautiful
gotta try and fish the coromandel at some point
yeah mate, you gotta! It's paradise
Awesome brother
Cheers mate👍
Awesome - fantail bay is great

This is on my to do list! Paradise
yeah man, it's wicked fishing territory. Lots of small snapper around at the moment. I bet this place is fully firing up in March/April

I don't understand why people blow up all their favourite spots, will just ruin it for yourselves next time,
