Best Fishing Spots in Coromandel, New Zealand | Part 2

These are our favourite fishing and camping spots in Northern Coromandel around Coromandel Town and Colville. On the West side we really like the Long Bay Motor Camp. Some really good fishing to be had around the numerous Mussel Farms nearby. On the Eastern Side we fished and camped at the Waikawau and Stony Bay DOC campsites and had a great kayak fishing session at Tuateawa, just a few kilometres South of Waikawau or a short drive from Coromandel Town.
These spots are all very good fishing spots for Snapper, Trevally, Kingfish and even squid.

I wouldn't recommend Paua gathering. The stocks are getting too low. Kina are pretty much everywhere around rocky coastlines. They are easy and more sustainable to gather. For mussels you could check out rocky headlands near mussel farms.
