- In this video, I show you one of the best, open-source fan control software I have found. It is compatible with most PCs and a few laptops. This solution is great if you are fed up with the clunky interfaces of the fan control software of your motherboard or other software. The interface is easy to use yet very powerful.

WARNING: If you are using Laptop, then don't try running this software, because Laptops are NOT supported by this application. Just in case if you installed it, and wanna delete it from your PC, then you have to remove the folder you installed and delete the app from Settings.
This is a 100% Safe Software, and safe to use, (in case if you will not mess it up) there is no viruses and e.t.c.
This video is a little outdated, just in case you wonder, because it was updated Alot.

You can check in the laptop BIOS for a fan control option.

I do everything you do but when I click on updater it opens the command prompt but it just closes itself after that what am I supposed to do?
I'm hoping this will be able to set my minimum CPU fan speed on a hp 270-p033w that is older but, it idles down to slow and throws an error. Thanks!

Hi im using bootcamp on my mac and speedfan doesn't detect fans. I'm hoping this softar will worked as I tried another called argus monitor but no luck. Any other suggestions of fan controlling apps if this doesn't work?
I'm not sure, mac's have special fan controllers which are proprietary meaning that devs can't easily build apps to control the fans. There is a slim chance that any software would work, I'm sorry to say.
Hello i have a macbook and also use bootcamp and i have found a sofware for my INTEL mac so 2020 or lower. The sofware is macs fan control and can be download on both bootcamp and mac Os hope this helps
at what speed should my CPU fans be running at im not sure
Hi again - I am running into a problem where after I identify and label my fans and set curves, and save a custom configuration, that custom configuration disappears when I reboot. Any advice? Thx!
Make sure the configuration file is saved in the same folder as the app, and check the app settings to make sure the start with windows setting is on
I set up speed for 0 fan still running .....
Apparently this only works with W10 or W11. If this is open source is there a previous version that works with W7?

didnt work, still going hard and noisy, probs just full of fluff but man its making more heat from the friction and im constantly switching ice packs to try keep it cool, nothing i can do since i cant even open the back up since the screw driver required is tiny and star shaped, cant find anything to open it to clean the thing, i set it to 0% and its still going hard, really anoying noise and heating up in one part around the fan so fast

Remove the folder and uninstall the software from settings, I've never seen the "nvapi" error before, sorry

Hi i have a elitebook 850 g6 with a i5 8265u CPU, i tried multiple fan softwares but they didn't detecet my fans. Do you think it is even possible to change my fan speed on this laptop ? If you know a software that could work please let me know. Thank you
No it might not be possible one a laptop. I recommend checking the bios of your laptop to see whether there are fan control options.
@@akvaithi Yes I already checked in my bios but it's very limited I only have the option "fan always on when on AC power" and I checked it but it doesn't seem to do much.. Because of this problem my cpu must edp throttle itself or else it gets to hot. Idk why my fan won't go quicker to make the cpu cooler. @Yeung Hofan Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible to control de fan speed set by the manufactures with a software. Personally, my problem was that i knew that this CPU could get to 3.60 ghz but i didn't know how to unlock this CPU speed. So i wanted to speed up de fan to see if it would boost up but no software allowed it. Then is discoverd a trick that works every time for my elitebook : when i restart my elitebook while it's plugged in (wall power), the fan would be well more powerfull and active and my CPU could boost up. I don't know if that's why you want to modify de speed of your laptop fan, but is this works also for you it would be great :)
Fan Control unfortunately doesn't work very well on my PC. It won't resume from sleep, and the drivers it uses crash, causing the fans to not be controlled, instead locked at a low RPM state minimum of my bios.
I have a question, I downloaded the fan control and opened it but it didn't show any fan controls. Do you know why this is like does it not work with my motherboard or I installed it wrong?
It probably means that it's not compatible with your motherboard

No, not sure what else, maybe look at your motherboard manufacturer's website for a fan control software

my motherbaord is z170 a, is this software compatible with that? Because after I shutdown my system I have to reinstall it completly, why is that?
Make sure you launch the program from the same location, this program doesn't install like a normal program and you have to manually launch the exe

Yes it is safe to use, make sure your fan isn't set to 0, then it could overheat.

If they don't show up, that might mean your CPU and GPU are unsupported

Yep, there's nothing I can do, sorry, maybe try to look on your motherboard manufacturer's website for other fan control software.
@@akvaithi Nah I like this software, I just downloaded Open Hardware Monitor so I can look at the temperatures. I'll have them both up so i can see and adjust properly.

You can unzip the zip file and run the fan control exe file

@@akvaithi Mine just flashes the cmd quickly and never starts the app. I tried through the exe and it errors and never starts. Will this not work with a HP desktop? (I am on W7, and it sounds like it is only for W10 and 11 from the github info)
Yeah, you need windows 10 or 11 to use this.

Yes, you can make fan curves to make it quieter during gaming too.

Nope, generally uses only 30 mb of ram running in the background
I extracted all of the files but not able to open program so it does not work for me.
Make sure you have admin control
i just got it to work now . My CPU fan kept surging lately even at say 45C and it was a pain to hear that often. I just set the option to "Flat line" and no more surge and so nice and quiet. The temp seems steady at around 45 to 55.
Now on the temp of min and max does that mean that at max and say it is 70C that the fan no longer works or goes into a high speed mode?
You can try an auto fan curve

i have a Hpz440 after installing this software i can control only the graphics card fan but couldn't control other fans . can u guide me on this ?

It only detects gpu and cpu fan but no the one on my case
Check to make sure the CPU fan and case fan are plugged into the same type of fan header on your motherboard
@@akvaithi well it’s a little too late haha 😆 I opened my case and wanted to unplug and plug it back in because that’s why all this happened in the first place I cleaned my pc and wanted to unplug the big fan that is attached to my case so I can clean it better.
After plugging it back in the fan was acting strange. I decided to unplug it again today I gently opened the case and the cable was cut off I guess the cable was already messed up and didn’t get enough power or something I didn’t even pull I was careful I didn’t even notice it at first. Guess I have to buy a new fan and problem solved.

You can just delete the folder where you have the exe stored.
Is it safe to use?
Yes, it is safe to use. If you are worried you can look at the code in the GitHub before trying it. Make sure you don't set all your fans to 0% speed and have your computer overheat. Other than that, this is completely safe to use.

That is true, there are more features in Argus Monitor, but I believe the UI is better on the fan control software. If you need the extra features, Argus Monitor is probably a better pick. This fan control software has all the things I need.
@@akvaithi really, not a good impression. It didn’t recognize my fans, couldn’t set gpu as source temperature.
