Hi! I updated the Bios to the latest version and my ventilators literally started screaming when I turned on the computer. I had to configure it primarily through the bios. Setting up with PMW instead of auto helped me. Maybe it will suit someone if someone has the same problem, but about the rest in the video.

I'm having a bit different problem with fans RPM MSI center (ver. 2.0.42.0) After boot or restart, fans live it's own life, I don't know where the parameters of 1100-1250 RPM came from, because in BIOS and MSI center, I did set it up to 850-900 RPM. Anyways, the fans ramp up to 1100-1250 until I open MSI center>cooling wizard. Once again, not MSI control center, but sub menu (cooling wizard) in MSI center. Only then fans RPM (7 in total) lowering to the set up config. And yeh, I tried both versions, from MSI website, and microsoft store, both act the same. And one more weird thing, for some reason this does not apply to the processor fan. All fans set up to the smart fans configuration.

Ffs Mike, given that you had described the exact same issue I am STILL having - and how to 'fix' it (move point on graph, which I knew already) - I though you were about to describe a permanent method rather than a simple 'uninstall, download then install latest from msi site'...something that doesn't need an 11minute video...ffs! @@mikesunboxing I found it easier than MSI Centre tbh, although I did scratch my head a few times setting it up. But depending on when you last tried, it does have a very good UI. The winning formula with Fan Control for me is I can have a 'mix CPU and GPU control', whereby the case fans react to whichever is hottest. I can even control how fast or slow the fans ramp up and down (stops that annoying fan ramp whenever I open an app). I have a separate profile for after a gaming session, where I put all fans at a set speed to properly cool the system, it's just a right-click on the task bar icon. Whereas with MSI centre and basically all other software that I've tried, case fans only react to CPU temps. [edit] you should give it another bash, might make a good video. 😄
Fan Control is excellent, free, can connect to additional sensor info and supports plugins. Yes it takes a little time to set up but that's not an issue for those of us, like yourself, who haven't 'dumbed down' ;)

Is better to have MSI Center or go with L-Connect from Lian L, or SIgnalRGB?
Where is your video with 1 minute simple video?
Hi, Mike. I never liked MSI Center, and now that I'm running Linux Mint for my OS, I'll never have too. My fans are still running fine at 100%.
Thank's a lot Mike, the MS Store version was causing a lot of confusion for me.
THANK YOU. This issue was driving me nuts. Appreciate the clear, helpful steps!

did they remove this option, or is it disabeld for laptops?

I was having the same problem with different versions too. I think MSI does not care about the compatibility and software in general
it is odd, msi center can work for months even years without a glitch then suddenly it all goes a bit wrong

Hey can you make one for the new version of msi center please ?
ok will do

I just use what is in the MSI bios.
But thank you very much for the tech info 😀
No problem 👍
That was my solution too. When the software goes bad, it will go back to the bios settings automatically. Not to the ridiculous default fan speeds
In my case it was following neither settings.
Fans slows down only if i open this app ( even if it started with windows automatically ) any tips ?
Uninstall and use the msi center cleaner tool then reboot and reinstall and make sure the bios settings for the fans match the type of fans you have
Come on MSI!
yeah software gets updated a lot but also newer builds break things. I think someone that used to work on Windows updates now has a job at MSI
A stupid question: do I need to check fan option, and what happens if I only click on balanced, without it?
if the noise and temps or okay for you then balanced is fine
@@mikesunboxing They are. Still, do I need to check "fan" option?
@@Milosh-o3k if you check the fan option MSI center controls the fans, if it is greyed out it will use the BIOS settings

my fans didnt move from rpm at all. i need help its at 1600 rpm and sounds like a jet.
