As mentioned in the video, I don't want hotels personally, I'd rather have a Mall lot type where you could combine several different types of community lots and they'd function properly.

I want both :') I feel like they would go together really well in a pack about hustle and bustle, and would make sense on the coding side of things (perhaps, I'm not a coder) seeing as a hotel is like a mall in that it's like bunch of community and rental lots in one building
I went on a cruise just a few months ago, and this all seems legit to me! Only thing noticeably missing is the “casino” area of every cruise, where there are slot machines and blackjack tables and stuff. But I don’t even think Sims has those kinds of items anyway, so good job! (Also, the ship I was on did, in fact, have a bowling alley!)
Sims 4 doesn’t, but surprisingly Sims 3 did have a casino addition via the sims 3 store!

@@TsarNick1995 unfortunately using gas powered cars/vehicles is unavoidable for most in this current state of society :) and even if you don’t use one, the likely next accessible alternative is public transport like buses or trains which are still bad :)) but cruises are for entertainment purposes and are completely unnecessary :))) especially with their excessive size which harms ocean life :)))) your comparison makes no sense :)))))

@@mikabee__ so true!! our society designed cars to be a necessity, but cruise ships aren't necessary to anyone, but just tourist destinations for people who can afford them. there's certainly more environmentally friendly ways to take a family vacation, but without a car, people can't go to work.

The more I hear about her talk about introducing her kittens to her cat, I realize how blessed I am with my cat. He was 15 when we got my kitten. He was immediately curious about her, would check on her all the time, and would loaf in front of her playpen, right from the beginning. The most that happened is he bapped her a few times when she started to play, but it was never aggressive. They were besties right from the off (she idolized him, tbh). It's been a year, and they cuddle ALL THE TIME!
my two resident cats are not at all happy with the 4 baby kittens we have 😭 mostly my spoiled baby who is upset he isn’t getting as much attention
Same here, I introduced kittens two times and it literally took me a few days, maybe 2 weeks tops introducing them before they were grooming each other and playing.
I stayed in a cruise ship in August, not one of those humongous Carribean ones, more so a big ferry with rooms and amenities, and it's really just like a mildly vibrating island. Nothing is moving inside and you only realize you're on the move when you sit by the window. Do people seriously think bowling alleys or glasses would wobble around on a ship this big? 😭
For some reason, a lot of people think boats only move like there's always rough water or storms happening
They do rock…. So much so that even pool tables are made special so they move with the boat to keep level
My first cruise was during a hurricane, and I can also verify that claw machines are a terrible idea in waves, but ordinarily things are fine. But boy oh boy do hurricanes make everything go crazy, even as far away as we were.
We have cruise ships in Finland, nothing this big, but they're mainly used for ferrying people and cars to Sweden or Estonia and back (sometimes Germany or Denmark). If there are bigger waves, you can definitely feel it and it's fun when you're drunk on the stage singing karaoke. 🤣 Yes, I've had that happen with my class.
My first cruise we had one bumpy night where you could feel the ship swaying but over 14 total nights that I've been on a ship that's the only time I have ever noticed movement. I have heard of ice rinks having to be shut down because of bumpy seas though, they keep those at the bottom of the ship to reduce the amount of movement
Such a great build. BTW you can in fact lock rooms in community lots, thanks to the club animation form Get Together. Make a club with you family and click on the door, etc. Works really well!
Lil Godsie is the most unproblematic youtuber ever. She sticks to her lane, has a great positive attitude and always makes me smile. Can tell that she is a good person. I praise you queen.

As someone who's actually been on a cruise - You can't feel the ship moving while you're on it. It's like a big hotel and most the time you forget you're on a boat. We had a bowling alley! It was wonderful. This is a beautiful build I love all the attention to details!
This build kind of reminds me of the Queen Mary in the sense that it is kinda permanently docked, but people still stay there sometimes.

I love hearing the kitten updates! I hope Snap continues to adjust to the babies. The relationship between Shrimp and Snap sounds like the relationship between my 3 year old cat Rin and newer kitten Cynder. It has taken the last 5 months to slowly introduce them and we can only just now begin to trust them within 10 feet of each other 😱

We literally just got back from our cruise, there was a bowling alley and yes, it was hilarious trying to play, but the point is to have fun. This is the best build yet, I love it.

Not wanting to be negative nancy here but regarding it being lopsided, I believe it’s different with pools (compared to bars/structures being only on one side) because on rough seas the water moves around in the pool affects the ships stability. Therefore pools are usually centered or mirrored on cruises. As you said, It’s just the sims so it doesn’t matter 😄 just a fun fact! 🥳 Cool ship!!
I would love to see you play with this build!! Maybe the Bell family can go on a cruise when they have kids this gen!

i love how much diverse your builds have been getting! and i love these longer videos too; keep it up :)
Loved playing in this build! A few things:
1. If you place a different rental lot and start a vacation there, you can stay here and actually pay for a stay. (You just wouldn’t go back to the actual rental lot for the vacation.)
2. As a rec center lot, if you place a grill, sims will autonomously cook. Definitely cruise vibes with the amount of food that’s cooked.
3. If you pick a room to stay in, as a community lot, you can delete the doors without cheats to stop Sims from randomly coming in and place them back (or teleport your sim) when you’re ready to leave.
This is really one of my favorite builds in the Sims 4 now. Great job, Kayla!! (BTW, the movie theatre does work! :) My sims watched a movie and I added a popcorn machine.)

being a permanently docked boat works there are plenty of out of commition boats that are still in good condition they just don't function to move. so the idea isn't to far off :)
About cats liking screens: I have accidentally raised ipad-kittens. They are OBSESSED with screens. I have a game for them on my phone and they love it so much. They also never leave me alone when I'm playing sims, they want to squash them when they see them moving 😂

Epic build! I'm always impressed with the little touches that make the build feel so realistic.
I want to use it as a club hangout. The Yacht Club, or some such. Basically set the club activities as bowl, get spa treatments, swim, drink & dance, or maybe even sleep!

My brother’s kitten fell from the second story landing almost 11 feet and he was fine! I recommend getting some mesh fabric to temporarily secure to the railing with command strips to keep them from accidentally getting hurt!
Zoning in the sims, like being able to divide lots into separate uses or residences, would be magical
My senior cat could not care less about screens, but we recently rescued a kitten as well, and she's *obsessed*. She mostly tries to play with the mouse on my computer, but she's also watched TV, videos for cats, and me playing games. Her favorite Sims pack is Cottage Living, cause I'm currently playing with a farm legacy and she loooves the animals lol. Also duckies in the pond. 10/10 gamer companion.
the idea of gen alpha cats is so funny to me like imagine showing an ipad to a cat from the 1900s what would they think
I LOVE this build! Idk why but one of my favorite little details is that the waterfalls in the spa line up perfectly with the pool, like it really shows how cohesive and well thought out the whole thing is
When my cat was a kitten she used to jump across the gap between the floor of the upstairs hall and the staircase, like through one railing and across to the other. We used to tell her off whenever we saw her do it because we were worried and tried to keep her shut out of the hall but it didn’t stop her.
One afternoon I was sat on the sofa watching TV and had the door open into the hallway. I heard a very high pitched mew as I saw her falling from the top of the stairs to the floor. She landed on her paws and then just walked away.
I was so concerned that she was hurt but she was totally fine and actually ended up getting annoyed at me for fussing over her. Anyway, she never jumped across again so safe to say she learnt her lesson. She hasn’t changed though, she’s 6 and a half now and still does this kind of thing all the time.
0/10 it doesn’t have a vet (i’m totally joking this build is SO good loveyou!)

my childhood cat always sat on the coffee table and watched me play Skyrim. She would get more & more excited (tail twitching etc) and then eventually leap over to the console table under the tv and slap at it with her paws. Any other game she'd just hang out snuggling with me, but she loved (or hated?) skyrim for some reason
I have been on many disney cruises the bathtub shower situation depends on what room you get it either had a shower or a tub shower combo i think the larger rooms have the showers and the smaller rooms have the shower tub combo i hope this helps!
Omg I love everything about this 😍 I too have been building cruise ship things because I like switching it up every now and then. I do really appreciate that this took you hours and was like you say probably your most longest builds, was totally worth it. I know it can be a bit repetitive sometimes with ideas on what to build as you've pretty much gone over everything already. Yeah I think it's great. This was the same lot though I am currently building a house boat on. 😂 so might need to re-plan that so I can have the cruise ship you've built. Because island living definitely lacks community lots and this would be so helpful. Because this world is so so beautiful. ❤

my family went on a disney cruise when i was young, & we had to fit 6 of us in one room! (the limit was technically 5, so my brother should've been sleeping in the room with my grandfather, but he was young). for kids 10, 8, 6, & 2 (with mom & dad), it was definitely a tight squeeze!

I've been on some cruises and this is actually pretty similar to actual ships and I love this. I'm deciding the next time I want to do a bigger project I'm going to try making a ship just on a big land plot so I can make it even more realistic since there's actually quite a bit that goes on below the main decks and I'd want to add some of that.
I love this build! This will become a staple in my save files. Also the lodge...I want to place that in all my saves so my sims have places to go.
My parents got home from a cruise a few days ago and came to visit me... The roof of that thing had go-karts, mini-gold, and an entire waterslide!

I would honestly listen to an hour+ massive speed build, you're really nice to listen to in the background while I work on crochet or whatever, and of course I love the huge builds, though I totally understand not wanting to talk to yourself for an hour+ lol

My cat Isis hated other cats basically her entire life. We were warned by the shelter when we adopted her that she should be an only cat. At the time we had an older male who was used to having cats and dogs come in and out of his life (from his previous owner's relationship issues). He was 22pounds and that size caused Isis to be a little intimidated and she liked/respected him as she grew, and he in general either liked or tolerated her, he didn't really care one way or the other. In general the only cat she ever liked was Oberon, who was a tiny 4ish week old kitten when we brought him home. Most oSf the time she ignored other cats as long as they stayed out of her "personal space" which could be 5 feet or the entire room depending on her mood. We had a cat, Pepper, for almost 10 years and she never really stopped hating him, though she was usually nice to him whenever he didn't feel well

33:50 one of my cat likes watching me play games and likes watching youtube with me- he's just fascinated by anything moving on screens, he especially likes when I play genshin cos he likes watching all the little things that go spinny in it
I downloaded it back when you first said you built this. It is so impressive. I love it. You did a fantastic job. It's beautiful and so well detailed. Great job. Glad to hear that Snap is doing better with the kittens. Everyone will adjust. Sunny and Shrimp are so cute. I enjoy seeing them running around and I bet when you start showing them the horse pack or animal videos like birds and stuff, they'll take great interest in your screen. lol
My kitten just walks across my laptop no cares. he has watched me playing. But sometimes he just lays down on the lap top when I leave it unsupervised. His a wild one lol

Ive been on that ship, Its the celebrity edge and the floating bar is called the magic carpet. It can be lowered to sea level and act as a dock for when you get on the tender boats to go out for the day. First cruise ive ever been on and it was amazing! Probably one of the fanciest ships out there

So I watch/play the Sims on my big living room TV, and my cat is OBSESSED- he sits on my TV stand right in the middle and watches (you, me, other RUclipsrs- he's not picky). His interest did ramp up when the horse pack came out, but now it's to the point that it's disruptive because I can't see what time it is, the weather, or the season on my screen because his body blocks so much! 😂
Kayla, can we PLEASE revisit this with the for rent pack??

life on a cruise ship is actually less expensive than on land for many people. many American seniors permanently make their homes on cruise ships, b/c it's less expensive than retirement facilities. cruise ships have full time medical staff available 24/7, and seniors gets senior discounts and assistance that other populations don't get. and yes, all cruise ships have all amenities available to the public including spas for hair/nails/skin treatments/massage. they also have grocery stores, book stores, music stores, gaming stores, athletic stores, hobby stores, musical instrument stores, bowling, ping pong, chess, billiards, pubs, bars, nightclubs, theatre, musicals, post office, small hospitals, and so so much more. cruise ships like to advertise that vacation on a cruise ship is the perfect time to pick up a new hobby, sport, instrument, or game. beautiful build! love the restaurant area that lets in so much setting sun. just gorgeous!

can confirm that the theater 100% works fine! i played in this the moment it went up on the galery lol. everything, as far as i am aware, works. you just have to keep switching the lot type. only issue i found was, if you switch to restaurant to eat, then to something else after you finished, the staff stays in the restaurant and i had issue getting my food the second time i used the restaurant as a lot type. idk if that was just dine out or the build being confused.

I don't know how youncome up with the ideas for these builds, but i love it. Also, my kitten jumped off the stairs and broke her leg. Almost had to have it amputated. So I feel you on the not wanting the kittens on the landing alone.
as someone thats been on 1 of those big royal Caribbean ships, i love this its adorable. also yes ive bowled on a ship before. and honestly you don't feel the ship moving unless your standing completely still and thinking about it.. unless its a storm
