- Hey everyone! Welcome back to the ultimate place for Subaru building and installs! Today I install a stage 2 kit on a 2015-2021 WRX model. Stage 2 consists of the Cobb big SF intake, Accessport, and J- pipe. Unfortunately, this car has some serious rust. Watch us break out the big guns to get off the rusted turbo studs!
Thank you for supporting the channel! You guys are real ones!

FYI to anyone doing a down pipe on a fa20dit wrx… you don’t need to hack the heat shield off let alone touch it.
I had the same issue with my downpipe, it took forever, when I got it to break it felt so good, I did it all on jack stands too
OMG on jackstands ughh haha! It is such a good feeling tho! Nice work!
Again with another banger! Seeing all that corrosion is the worst-knowing mine will probably be similar in a couple years😭🤣
Ughhh it really sucks. I could never live up north just because of this 😂
@@boxerbaddies for real man! & I feel you there.. def some cool stuff up here, but the salttt😭😭😭🤣
And this how we keep the stereotype going, kaaaaaablooom! Out of the box tune.
These kits are made only for a short period until it’s time for a protune! I don’t ever recommend to keep this setup for anyone long term!
Good video guys! Grimmspeed does now have a stainless steel turbo support, so you can have one and not have the top two turbo nuts rust and fuse to it.
Oh that’s great!! Thanks for that info!! They make great products!!
those turbo noise nice
Yeah it sounds awesome!!
Bro I’m famous. Hahah. It’s Jonathan
Yoooo!!! Haha thanks for watching!
I couldnt do it again . After 3 grand spent and only gain like 30hp it was a no brainer to me to sell my kit and dunp the car. Now im a crowd surfer.
@@snuffeluffigis damn. But you’re right. Lots of money into these cars for not a lot of gains
im surprised theres that much turbo sound from the exhaust with a cat still on it cant wait for mine
Oh yeah! Even with a cat these sound great!!
What Exhaust System is your buddy running? Sounds amazing!
So sorry for the late reply! I can’t recall. But something 3 inches
Doesn't Stg2 also add a new intercooler and boost controller?
I thought stage 2 was all fuel upgrades, lines, pump, injectors rail
We went by Cobb’s “stage 2” in this video.
@@boxerbaddies I forgot the wrx and STI stages are completely different. That would be a stage 1plus for an STI
I have a 2018 w 11k miles that’s been sitting since covid rarely driven thinking 🤔 want to do some upgrades since have no more commute like before hence low mileage how much does doing something like this cost ? I see the kits are like 2500+ is labor another 2500 if you pay a mechanic and don’t do it yourself?
Oh that’s awesome! It’s always exciting modding the subie!! Why don’t you try this: start super small. Begin with an access port from COBB. It’s about 700$ it takes no effort to install. You just plug it into your OBD and follow instructions. You can begin with a stage 1 tune. (A beefier tune on the stock parts). Then when you’re ready and that’s boring, get an SF intake from cobb. It also takes almost no effort to install and a few simple hand tools! The sounds and performance you get from it is awesome! That will get you started and it will cost you the bare minimum. Then when it’s time to go for more mods and power, get the downpipe and hire a mechanic. If you’re in south Florida, I can always do it for you!
@boxerbaddies where are you located in South Florida?
What catback did he pair with that Cobb j-pipe in this video?
Ugh I can’t recall! Sorry for the late response! It was a pretty open 3 inch exhaust tho!
I’m planing to go stage 1 protuned Cobb AP with GS intake. Should I just go stage 2 and call it a day…. Idk :)) hehehe
I would strongly advise you not to use anything other than the Cobb SF intake with their tunes on the accessport. The GS intake is great! But it may not do well with the Cobb tunes. Also, Cobb has now discontinued any “stage 2 support” for the WRX. Any downpipe now needs to be protuned on the WRX.
I just realized you said “protuned!” In that case yes!! Use whatever intake you’d like! Use any downpipe you’d like!
@@boxerbaddies yeah. I figured if I’m going to mess with my car, I’m going to go to a trusted subie tuner. I have my date set for tune and dyno on may 4th!
@@palphimsurgtech Great! Just make sure your car complies with all EPA standards and regulations. I say that because Cobb just pulled ALL support for anything that doesn’t comply with EPA. So no catless/egr deletes/TGV etc. Hope it all goes well! Keep me updated!
@@boxerbaddies I’m too scared to do all that (I say that now 😂) heck I’m even scared to void my warranty haha. I will definitely keep you posted.
Good video where did you get the kit??
Thank you! I’m not exactly sure where he picked up this stage 2 setup. I believe it was bought separately and this was also almost a year ago now (I know old video). So I know the accessport actually doesn’t support this setup anymore for the WRX
@@boxerbaddies exactly, this video is obsolete. you don't replace the downpipe anymore.
You can still do the Down pipe just with the new gesi high flow cat and a pro tune and your fine
what is the name of the map you are on
This at the time was just a Cobb stage 2+ before the greenspeed upodate. Technically you can no longer run this application without custom tuning.
None of these parts fit on a 2022 as the VB chassis is significantly different than the VA.
You’d be correct! I mistook the years of production for the VA chassis! I’ll be adjusting the title and thumbnail! Thank you!
For my 2019 sti I have a tune and Cobb sf intake since I’m pre green can I run a Cobb downpipe from the old stage 2 map I had when I first got the ap? I just got a Cobb downpipe
Hey there! Sorry for the late response! On the STI model to run the downpipe you have to remove the intake you have installed. You can’t run both. If you have that map already downloaded you could. But if you ever have to plug your access-port in you’d be in trouble. Unless it’s a catted DP
Do i have to remove the 2nd restricter pill iv seen some people doing it but didnt see u guys do it??
Yes according to cobb’s PDF one pill should be removed. Sorry for the confusion.
uh, J-pipe is NOT part of stage 2 anymore. not sure where you get your info from
Grimmspeed makes a stage 2 kit with j pipe
No boost solenoid?
Yo where can I get this stage 2 parts
Import image racing! 👍
Should have skipped the intake, doesn't make power just noise. That money could have got you an actual professional tune from an etuner that will be much safer and more powerful, stock intake and all. Cobb OTS tunes are horrible.
Hola 👋 como se llama tu taller
cobb just told me they do not have stage 2+ tunes i looked on my ap and couldnt find any just installed j pipe
for wrx
Yeah the green speed update changed everything for these cars. Catless pipes are no longer supported
Yes man I did a turbo inlet Cobb b2 and throwing too lean. Getting smoke test. And then etube
What exhausts?
You guys forgot to take the 2nd restrictor pill out😂
