2019 Ram 1500 Classic 2WD Bought the MotoFab front and rear leveling kit gonna start project this weekend Toyo 35” 12.5 on 20” man can’t wait had kit for awhile now just been slacking thanks for video young man
I had all kinds of problems after putting coil spacers on my 09 2wd. I had to switch over to longer sway bar end links. The upper control arms really need to be changed also. I found a hack for the sway bar end links. Factory ones from a 4 wheel drive are the same fitment just longer. So that worked great. Before that the truck swayed so bad it was scary. Them 2 extra inches of lift was enough to max out the sway bar. A lot of people go with the hellwig sway bar but that’s not the actual fix. You don’t need it. It’s a waste of money.
Oh definitely a 2 inch lift kit with springs and control arm replacement option will be a better, because they are designed with control arms with a greater ball joint pitch and potentially same comfort versus compressing the stock springs making it for a harder ride. The only drawback is that they cost more.
I went with rough country lift springs and Kyb mono max but the ride is so stiff. I noticed the Kyb monomax is short too, would adding a shock extender make the ride better?
I have a question and I would appreciate someone answering it; I already installed a 3-inch kit on my truck but I want to raise it another 3 inches, is it possible that I can put one kit on top of another?
It is not possible. I will assume you have already installed some sort of leveling kit that installs on your coils or struts. As is your control arms are almost maxed out at their downward position, that’s bad for your ball joints and CV axles. If you want to go taller that’s when you will need to relocate/drop your control arms and that’s when lower cross members are added and spindles are replaced and drop steering links are put on. You will have to replace the kits if you want to go taller, BUT their is another option if you just want to get another 1-2 maybe even 3 inches without replacing any suspension components and that is body lifts. Look into them. Hope that helps 👍
It’s a slight stiffer. He added 35” tires with stock wheels and it definitely changed the ride quality I recommend upgrading shocks and upper control arms.
Nice video! Would that fit my truck? I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Lone Star, I’m having trouble finding a 2 inch leveling kit , the leveling kit on Amazon said it’s for 4 wheel drive only.
I recommend going with the Rough Country 2” Leveling Kit Ram 1500 2WD, it comes with 2” Leveling Coils and new shocks for the front, that’s what I installed on my truck instead of a puck. However, this a good option too, he does a great job explaining how to install it.
You sound very knowledgeable and I am looking for guidance. I recently purchased my first truck so I am new to the truck world and its language. I am looking for a leveling kit but I cannot find the components anywhere, I am open to a small body kit but I am also having trouble finding what I need. My local lift kit shop suggests using components for a 2016 model and it just doesn't sound right. I have a 2022 F350 dually 4x2 7.3L gas, what can I do?
Let me start off by saying congratulations on your new truck. You just skipped the little and jumped straight to the big leagues 🤙. I haven’t dealt with many Fords but I do agree with what the shop said. Many makes do use previous generation suspension components and body parts on new models, all they do is update front ends, rear ends and interior design. But they utilize the exact mounting location because they keep the exact dimensions underneath to a certain extent, some backside components do change as well for example a radiator/core support. That’s why front end swaps are pretty common. Hope that helped a little and kind of points you the right direction 👍
@@five7garage826 it helps alot, thanks alot for your help and your time. I got this stuck sorely for looks, I do not tow nor carry anything. The reason why I decided to save some money by not going with a diesel engine and 4x4 transmission.
33 max with any 2” level kit. Anything over that you’re rubbing, especially under load. Why would you want that? Burn through tires and components faster
hey man, after months driving the truck like this, have you noticed any bumps between the UCAs and the spring towers while flexing because of a pot hole or speed bump? I want to do exactly the same but I've read about this issue and I live in a country with fucked up streets and speed bumps everywhere, also, do you know approximately the weight of the spacers? I'm shipping by plane to the other side of the world and every gram matters haha, thanks!
It really depends on what your trying to achieve, the bigger the lift the bigger the tires you can put on. The majority of 3+ inch lift will come with a 1 inch spring spacer you will have to install in the rear.
I'm about to do this on my 2019 quad cab. Do you remember what that tool was called that you rented. It made the install look 10x easier than everybody else has done it! Thanks!
It did make it a lot easier. It’s called a Coil Spring Compressor this one was made by OEMTools and part number is #57035. It was a loaner tool from AutoZone.
I put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on my ram classic 2wd and it was at 39 inches in the front. 2 months later it dropped down to around 37.5 is that normal?
And this guy is doing this all wrong. When you lower the lower control arm that coil spring just falls right out of there. I learned that the hard way. When you go to put the coil back in with the spacer you just hold it in place and jack up the lower control arm.
Thanks for the video. It's interesting to see the job on a 2WD vs the 4WD level kits I've had some experience. Looks sharp!

I know people that had major issues down the road with spacer kits i used bilstein 5100 adjustable height shocks cant go wrong believe me
They don’t make those for 2wd rams
Best you could do is get the 5100 shocks, 2” spring lift from RC or Maxtrac and an upper control arm upgrade.
@@abelscaliber7969hey man i been wanting to level my truck it’s a crew cab would you also recommend the 2in lift springs for mine
What’s the rear measurements? I lifted mine but i can’t get it leveled enough even with the spacers
I just put that kit on my ram and it feels really bouncy
What about the shocks? If you lift any car need replace the struts too!!! If not be ready to have problems with your suspension
The truck is new 😂
What struts😂
That looks clean. Good video
You can install shock extenders.
Do you have a link to the kit your installed
Helped alot for figuring out how to get the spring back in and no lie hardest shit I've ever done and I do a lot of hard labor
Would you recommend this kit or say go to a true 2” lift spring replacement as a better option?

Do you have to get an alignment after this
So I was thinking about putting a 2.5 spacer for my ram, but should I put an after market shock or does the stock shock still work well?
Stock shocks work perfectly fine in my opinion regardless you will have a stiffer ride once you install spacers.
2.5 is too much in my opinion that .5 inch makes a difference
Go with Bilstein 5100 shocks trust me

How does it ride? Stiffer? Bouncier?

@@five7garage826 is it super bouncy?? Which UCAs would you recommend? Oem or lift UCAs?
You don’t need new UCAs. Just get adjustable ball joints. To get your camber right when you do the alignment.

35 with very little rub

Good job 👏 came out real 👍…Thinking about doing mine soon!!
Were you able to fit bigger tires? My tires are almost at the 60k mark and wanted to level my truck before I got tires

Order some adjustable control arms or lifted control arms
Will this kit fit with the v6 model
Ratchet strap! 🤘🏻 I use that when doing the rear lower tubular control arms ( trailing arms is old school term)
Yea you don’t need it. The coil spring falls right out when you lower the lower control arm with a jack.
How much was it out the door?? $
really smart, good job
I was wanting to do the same thing but what you think would be better a 2" leveling kit or a 3" suspension lift

Did you need to take it to an alignment shop?
We didn’t but it wouldn’t be a bad idea to do so.
Did you reuse the rubber that was on top of the coil?
I didn’t.
Awesome video. Was the real level with the front?
It was but If I remember right the front might of been about half an inch taller but pretty close.
Nice work

That is NOT a 2021 Ram.. 2019 to now the body style changed. Mostly the front clip a interior.
That is not true, they still do make them in 2022. They are under “1500 classic” look them up.
Lol I have a 2019 That looks just like this, it’s a classic
How many inches did the rear have ? I love the stance !
Great video.... Did you use this on a 2021 RAM 1500 Classic? Some cites say they work for the 21, some say don't. Thoughts?
I believe all 1500 classic (19+), can fit a 09 to 18 front leveling kit.
I couldn't tell in the vid, did you leave the factory rubber in and does it go between the spacer and spring or on top of the spacer? Thanks
No I left it out, rides fine without it.

It shouldn’t have. Is it a plastic spacer?
If it had the plastic (composite 😂) spacer it gets eaten up and drops. Happened to me I had to replace with steel
