At least the Who tried to help Keith Moon and tried to put out the word as his friends (that he was sick with stage anxiety not just a failed bum to hate.) Absolutely true. Every album is unique with interesting guitar, bass, and keyboard hooks to draw the attention fully. Eight Ozzy/Sabbath albums, and I can't think of one song I really dislike. That would be like finding a quarter in a stack of dollar coins and throwing it away. Each album was unique. Comparing Master of Reality to Technical Extacy is useless and diminishes both. Comparing T.E. to Born Again or Mob Rules is a value judgment of the cheapest sort.

Ozzy. Every time. Ronnie James Dio was a superb singer. I met him once backstage at a Rainbow gig in Cardiff. Still have the program he and Cozy Powell signed. But there is only one Black Sabbath and that has to have Ozzy in it. That's one of the reasons Bill Ward left (apart from alcoholism and bereavement), he couldn't come to terms with playing in a Black Sabbath without Ozzy. The Iommi-Dio Band were good, but they weren't Black Sabbath any more. {:o:O:}

Ronnie James Dio . His voice was epic, energetic, powerful and scary when he wanted to do it. Also his voice was appropriate for rock and roll, doom metal, heavy metal and many more.
Love Ronnie... unbelievable talent who never really got the full recognition.. because he took on the tough challenge of replacing Ozzy who had such a huge following.... but Ozzy just has this unique almost haunting sound that I have been hooked on since the late 80s

Two completely different bands to me but equally awesome…. I love them both! Even Tony’s guitar tone and style were different during the Dio era

They are so different and have such individual talent, it ain't like comparing Pepsi and Coke. It's much more difficult than that. I think Ozzy wins on vocals, but Dio on everything else, while he also has a very good voice.
Dio has so much musicianship over Ozzy it's apples and oranges. Dio on paper, is so much better. But Ozzy's voice is so unique. Ozzy just has 'it'. Personally, I'm team Dio, but both are so flippin' rad!
