I saw Dio in Oulu the same year 2005. Great set, all the best hits, Ronnie was very strong and Doug Aldrich on the guitar also excellent. Doug played very close to the originals. It was a solid lineup. I am grateful I got to see the legend !

This guy had me fixated from the moment he said hello as he took the stage, singing Children of the Sea. No, not Dio, and over the years have met quite a few others including all the members of the Eagles, and even Sean Mendez, lol (that was for my daughter's sake).
I Dee Jayed his nieces wedding at the VFW / American Legion Hall on rt 13 he was a good man gave his niece away and was just one of the crowd. For a surprise I dug out a track from his ELF days and played Hoochie Coochie Lady for him and his wife, they were so surprised to know their DJ (me) saw them at the stone jug in Hamilton, NY in 1971 and he hadn't changed a bit just a regular guy. I'll never forget what a big heart beat in his small frame but to me he was a giant talent that was taken too soon.....May he find a place in Rock "n" Roll Heaven, Godspeed....The N.Y. He had connections to L.A. as well. I had a friend whose mom was dating a guy (I know, I know) who did music for the entertainment industry; he was friends with Dio and they collaborated on some things, but only my friend got to meet Dio (of course), lol

My friend had bought tickets to the final Slayer, and while Slayer didn't hang out in the Forum club, Scott Ian and Charlie Benetante (sp?) of Anthrax, King Diamond, some big dude from Testament, and Aquaman actor Jason Mamoa all did. No, not Dio, and over the years have met quite a few others including all the members of the Eagles, and even Sean Mendez, lol (that was for my daughter's sake).
I Dee Jayed his nieces wedding at the VFW / American Legion Hall on rt 13 he was a good man gave his niece away and was just one of the crowd. For a surprise I dug out a track from his ELF days and played Hoochie Coochie Lady for him and his wife, they were so surprised to know their DJ (me) saw them at the stone jug in Hamilton, NY in 1971 and he hadn't changed a bit just a regular guy. I'll never forget what a big heart beat in his small frame but to me he was a giant talent that was taken too soon.....May he find a place in Rock "n" Roll Heaven, Godspeed....The N.Y. Music Connection
