Love fried apples, they are so good. Try adding a few raisins or dried cranberries the same time you put the apples in the pan to cook for a slight variation. Just put in a few, maybe about a Tablespoon . Is really good either way.
@@johnniekilgore9413 Thanks, I just guessed when it was ready by sight and cutting a piece of apple. I was amazed how fast it cooked, great with roast pork. And I used apples from the garden that were too sour to eat raw. They sweetened up perfectly in the sugar and butter, a great and simple recipe, thanks for your reply!
Try them with cinnamon and a little Allspice. I also like to add a bit of lemon juice to the apples. I use up to a Tablespoon of the lemon juice depending on how sweet the apples are. It ends up tasting like Apple pie without the crust. Goes good with a lot of things from cheesecake to short cake and a lot of other foods.
I love apples but find it harder to find good ones. Used to be you could get a pretty good idea of the inside by looking at the outside. Seems that these hybrids have perfected making the outside look good while the inside is not so much. So instead of crappy apples sitting around till they rot, they go into something like this. Any apple will work: brand, crispy, soggy, sweet, sour, doesn't matter. Even old, wrinkly skins work. I picked up a hand crank apple peeler/corer, works great with this. Can be eaten alone or as filling in pie, canned biscuit or cresent roll turnovers.
This guy's voice felt like therapy.. Forgot all about the apples half way through the video.

How long do you need to fry the apples, butter and sugar for? I'm right in the middle of it now, and hoping against hope you'll answer, lol!
Cook till apples are tender and butter and sugar is thickened.

Warm to hot is best. IMO

Both ways work. I do not remember why, likely I could not find my peeler.
