What the a6700 lacks is pop-up flash! Not everyone needs a professional flash. I hope that the next model will be one with upgrades for photographers as well. The current updates are more for vlogging. I'm waiting for a6800 or a6700r. Until then, I'll stick with what I already have a6400. For me, a brand change is not excluded.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! There’s not many APS-C camera models coming out these days with an integrated flash, we’ll see what happens with the a6800 in time though :)
You said the positives of the 6700 but you didn't say the main negative which is the overheating in the video.. personally it was the main reason I didn't upgrade. Regarding the colors, did you find a difference with the 6400?
Video overheating is only an issue when recording at certain frame rate / quality settings for a very long duration of time. I frequently record 20-25 mins continuously at 4K 24 FPS without overheating - but yes, on a longer time horizon it would overheat. It all depends on your use case, but for mine (RUclips) it’s not going to be a significant issue. I find the colour balance to be slightly different between the 2 models, with video coming out of the A6700 generally looking more pleasant in my opinion!
All colors are adjustable a d can be saved in every picture profile. A $40 silent light fan sitting in place of an open monitor will solve any heating issues you may face.
Just got my 6700. So far I love it! Not sure I want to get rid of my 6400, yet.
Glad you’re enjoying it! After the first week with my 6700 I didn’t feel the need to hold onto my 6400 any more.
Was on fence on buying which of these two.
Decided to go with a6400, a little smaller compact, has built in flash pop up and cheaper in price.
Congrats on your purchase! I loved my 6400, I'm sure it'll do you well :)
