8:04. This was my favourite moment from episode 9 hands down and it was entirely based on the music. My heart swelled when I heard it and saw Luke finally lift the x-wing out of the water just as Yoda had done.

6:45 That seems to be a different version of the scene on his monitor there. But I’m not gonna dwell on deleted scenes and alternate cuts... John Williams is a damn genius, and that’s an understatement. It’s heartbreaking that we’ll never hear him in a galaxy far, far away again.

In a college composition and theory class in the early 1980s my professor, himself an accomplished composer, told us that the closing score for Close Encounters of the Third Kind was one of the greatest, if not the greatest, orchestral composition of the 20th century. I think he was right.
And the works of this Master have proved time and time again that he is genius.

    • @siegfriedkleinmartins7816

I agree with you. The music Maestro Williams made for the end credits of Close Encounters is so overwelming and full of beauty that in the very first exibition in Rio the Janeiro all the audience stayed till it ended and then applauded for about 5 minutes. I know cause I was there applauding too.
