I'm a 5 hdcp with an indoor simulator in my house and play virtual or real golf daily and play the Callaway DCB's. Great clubs with great feel and look fantastic in the bag. Can't really tell the difference between them and the Apex 21's. You can play the DCB's all the way down to low single digits just like the P790's and the Pings. Great review.. Get fit and go in with an open mind. I've tried out all my friends irons in the simulator and for me the DCB's were the best fit. Try them all and decide for yourself. I also tried the Mizuno's both last years and this years models and the DCB's were still the best.

I bought the ping g425’s, they’ve been fantastic, in terms of distance and more importantly hitting the ball straighter. I rarely miss really wide right or left, which gives you more confidence on the course.

I love distance, I had an instructor who told me accuracy outweighs distance every time, I went with the G425s for accuracy and the stopping power. I have a set of Mizuno's I really enjoy but they were just so fast and would never stick where I needed them to, always a 5-10 yard over run.

I’m a “high handicap” golfer but not because of my iron play, I play the P790 in a dynamic golf 105 stiff, 7 iron carry 153/160ish total and find that you get the most help out of the longer irons. The PW and 9 iron aren’t too hot. Obviously a lot of money but when something works for my game, looks amazing in the bag and gives me enough forgiveness to enjoy this beautiful game. It’s well worth the every penny.

Great review !! I've had the 425s in my bag for a year now. I've never worried too much if my 7 iron goes as far as another brand's 7 iron. I know how far I hit mine, it is forgiving and I play it to that distance. I want the shot to go as I had it pictured in my mind and the Pings do that for me (most of the time anyway lol ).

I returned to golf after a 5 year break 7 months ago and treated myself to a set of cobra radspeeds. I stopped at a 14hcp, came back as a 20hcp now back to 18hcp and hope to get back to 14 or lwr very soon. I was fitted for my radspeeds and cannot fault them for forgiveness and distance. But during my fitting I tried the p790 as in your review/reviews they just look right and inspire confidence without even hitting a ball. Long story short have purchased p790 now and could not be happier. Definitely agree they suit a wide range of golfers. Keep up the good work and reviews as this was one of the contributing factors in buying the p790's

I have a set of G 425s, P 790 21s and a set of P 770 19s. I must admit I agree with everything you say, you can play the g 425 right into a 8 hcp with no problems at all, it is the most forgiving and constant iron out there plus the U and W Wedge are like no other wedges of the other sets, they are insanely good with a lot of spin and greenpresence. You can do anything with them and nothing wrong, they are so easy to hit it’s hillarious. Only downside next to feel is the sound offcourse.
I also play the P 790 21, simply because of the looks and they can also cater an even bigger hcprange then the g 425, I see so many teaching pros actually play these or the I 500s (I 525s) but saying that says one thing, if your teaching pro plays em, why don’t you as sub 8 hcp? I was at a meeting last month in Spain where we got to test all new products for this year an entire week, in the morning we were testing all clubs, in the afternoons we went out and played 18 holes and it says a lot when your entire Flight which consists of 2 teaching pros and 2 fitting experts all play the P 790 21s. It’s also just a gorgeous Iron which caters almost all aspects of what golfers want and need.
The t 300 and the Apex dcb are also very very good irons, that dcb is such a nice mixture of everything. But to be honest if that g 425 would have a better look and sound, I’d play it every day and not just when my neck needs a bit of relief 😎. I really just like playing the p 790 more bec it looks so awesome.
I also played the P 770s but with the 790 21s there is absolutely no need putting these back in my bag, on a good day they are awesome but if you have bad form they will kill your score due to lack of forgiveness and distance. They cater 5 and less, especially the lucky crowd that gets to play 5 days a week (yeah keep dreaming 😂) and even then you come back to what I said about the p 790 21s being played by a lot of teaching pros.

His Sophie, great video and very informative. My current handicap is 6 (but probably more like an 8 if I'm honest) and use Mizuno T zoid MX15 forged irons, however, I'm looking at getting new irons and not sure which category to buy from. I know 3 people who play using the G425's and I really like the look of them, the only thing that puts me off going for this type of iron is the stigma attached to them that they're suited to 10 and above handicappers. What is it about 'game improvement clubs' that would prevent someone improving right down to scratch?

According to TXG channel the Cleveland Launcher Halo are the easiest irons to hit. I have used the model two or so years older and thought," wow, these are great."
