Staci, you forgot to tell everyone they come with a cord adapter for the large and small cords- they are extremely useful for bigger projects without having to buy longer cords. I LOVE my Chiagoo interchangeables! Great investment! Thanks for this review!!
I'm a needle collector of sorts and have tried just about every brand that has been manufactured in the last 40 years. I purchased the two sets you reviewed and have been working with mine for a while now. I can't say enough good things about them and consequently, they have become my "go-to" needles for every project. I find the point on them to be perfect, even for lace projects and the needle material (stainless steel) to be smooth but not too slippery. The cables are the icing on the cake! Being constructed of flexible, multi-strand, nylon-coated, memory-free steel cable provides just the right amount of structure - not too floppy, not too firm, with no memory which blows the competition away in my opinion!
Chiaogo is my all time favorite needle, I’m trying to rebuild my knitting collection, I lost most everything in a house fire. At least I know what my favorite Needles are, so I don’t waist my money buying things I think will be great, and only use once.! Knitting has helped me keep my sanity these last few months!!
I’m thrilled that you did this awesome review.. ChaiGoo Red Lace needles are the absolute BEST needles on the market...IMHO.. The cords are amazing, and the joins are do smooth..no jump to get in the way. I will turn 75 on September 11, of this year..Guess what my gift to myself will be! I don’t knit socks, so will nit be buying that adorable mini set.. What a neat little package.. I have to say that I have always loved the case ChaiGoo needles live in. It is so stylish.. I’m very happy that you..an expert knitter love these wonderful needles.. Sandy from Cincinnati 💜💜😎
I also gifted myself with the Red Lace set when I was 75. It much be a special age, Sandy! I’m now 4 years older and I love them. Nothing but the best. You’ll also feel the same way. Happy birthday!
I have both sets and love them, but my set came with 5” tips. The minis are also now available with 4 or 5” tips (purchased separately). Thanks for all of your terrific RUclips videos. I learned to knit from watching you. Made my first socks and first short sleeved sweater from your patterns with video support. I would not be a Knitter today without your help and it’s long past time I thanked you! 🌸
Love these needles. I keep a 40"/000 in my notions case for emergency lifelines. The cord has never kinked or curled up. It has saved the life of many projects!
I bought the interchangeable set a year ago and I'll thrilled! I have been knitting for 50+ years, but finally have time to spend more time now that I am retired. These needles give me so much pleasure. I wish I could buy a set for the each of my most loved knitters.
ChiaoGoo are the best needles ever and I have you, Staci, to thank because I bought a 60-inch ChiaoGoo needle from Skeino when I ordered a Miss Grace shawl kit after your demonstration. I was blown away by how flexible the cord was - no fighting with it at all!
HA HAAAA! A CONVERT (hopefully)! I have been using the red lace tip set, that you have there in the larger case, for YEARS and they are always my "go-to" needle set! I love those needless... I have 3 sets of interchangeable needles (because more is more) and I ALWAYS end up grabbing those or I end up transferring to those before I'm done with my project because I get fed up with my other sets.
As a relatively new knitter I bit the bullet and bought the Chiaogoo set and have been nothing but impressed. In an earlier video you had mentioned your preference for 4" needles vs. 5" and I got the 4" version. I have made multiple hats and scarves with these and have never had an issue. I simply love them. I have been buying individual sets of Bamboo DPNs for finishing work, so I don't have a full line of sets to match all of the sizes yet. Thank you so much for your videos as they have helped me learn to love knitting.
Hi Dave, do you recall which video she discusses 4" vs 5"? I am trying to decide which to get. I am new to knitting and trying to figure out whether either would be better for different applications or if it is just personal preference, or both. Thanks.
I was just saying to my friend last night how I needed to get me some metal interchangeable needles for lace and such, and here you are ready made with the answer! Thanks again.
I'm glad you tried Chiaogoo needles and liked them! I have a small handful of favorite needle brands, but Chiaogoo is the ONLY brand that both ticks ALL the "must-have" boxes for me and has NONE of the little annoyances: kinky cords and cords that become stiff over time, joins that are either rough or slow me down, or tapers that are too long or too short. I'm not crazy about the thicker cables for the large sized tips, but they sell adapters so one can use their thinner cables with larger tips. They even have smooth edges on the lifeline/tightening tool holes. I've bought my CG needles piecemeal, so never got a case, but after seeing yours I'm going to buy one (they're available separately) Great review. Thank you!
When I started out knitting, I got tired of buying onesie-twosies and read every review out there for sets. I wish I had seen this review back then- I wouldn't have been so nervous about spending what I did on my Chiagoos! I got these exact sets and have never, never been disappointed. I'm working on a baby blanket now and I don't have to worry at all about folding the work up and tucking it into my bag- the cables are as straight as ever, even after being in storage for a YEAR (that's a long story, nm). Thanks for your review!
Staci, To screw and unscrew the needles and cords on the mini sock set, Chaiogoo gives two holes, one in the base of the needle and one near the tip of the cord. You can use a "key" in each hole for a more secure twist and tighten!
Jayadancer1 Interesting. My mini set doesn't have any holes in the needles. Edit: Just saw this after clicking on another's link... "These MINI tips are ChiaoGoo's "Next Generation" solid stainless steel that have a tightening hole. This will enable knitters to use a second tightening key (in conjunction with the one used on the cable-side) and leverage them against each other when securing your connection."
I remember when you first got these and how excited you were. Guess what I have some now, yes I know it took a while but they are a tad expensive and I felt a luxury. How wrong was I. I love these and all the little quirks about using them. Thank you for your guidance and advice.
An excellent review. As a bonus, The mini cables can be used with small needles, when used with the needle adapter connectors. So awesome. I am convinced the Chiaogoo sets and interchangeable needles are the BEST.
I've been using the Mini set for socks for the past few months, and I concur with your glowing review of these needles. I have the larger set as well but haven't used those needles yet because I've been on a sock knitting jag. Thanks for spreading the word about these fantastic needles!
These needles are by far the best. They're wonderful. Even their bamboo needles are great if you need to use a wood needle for a project. My very favorite!!!
There are a few notable things you left out. Both sets include a connector for each hub size , so you can connect two cables, expanding the cable sizes, especially good for magic loop. And another accessory ChiaoGoo sells is their adaptors. I use the mini/small adaptor on my mini cables so I can use those awesome teeny cables with needle tips up to US8, (AnyUS2-US8 Plus an adaptor), these teeny cables are especially good when making gloves and thumbs on mittens via magic loop. So I can now use worsted weight wool, a US2-8 and make the fingers easily. And soon they will be coming out with "shorties" with 2.5"& 3.5" tips. I have 2 complete 5" sets, a4" set and both 4&5" mini sock sets and I can knit anything!!! Thanks for the review of these awesome needles. Oh and they are lifetime guaranteed if you have a Chiaogoo approved retailer ( see www.chiaogoo.com for the list- several are on Amazon or Ebay)
Hello. It's the first time I see a pattern holder and sometimes it's the most obvious that are the greatest ideas. Thanks again Staci, as two days ago it was the the stretchy BO and the the hidden BO that I've learned and now this.
I LOVE Chiaogoo needles and the wood interchangeables were my first interchangeables. I have tried other brands since but they are by far my favorites. The cords are the best. I would love to add these needles to my collection!!! Thanks for the opportunity.
I started out with ChiaoGoo circulars when I started knitting socks seven years ago. In the last year I have finally treated myself to all the complete sets, even the 4-inch and 5-inch because sometimes the 4-inch tips work best with the shortest cable. LOVE my ChaioGoos! So glad you do too.
I appreciate your videos so much!! I always wanted to learn how to knit but I didn't know anyone who did, and there were never any classes available to me. Three years ago I started learning on youtube. I consider myself an intermediate knitter now, and I always go back to your videos whenever I need a refresher on a certain stitch or cast on! You explain things so well, and I really appreciate you!
I just received my Chaio Goo “small” set from Amazon today. They cost $93, but with my points I paid under $50. The 5 inch tips are very comfortable for me, my hands are large. Originally, I was going to order the complete set, but I can’t remember the last time I used a needle size larger than 5 mm. I use my Knit Picks nickel coated brass 40 inch cables for magic loop, and their 6” dpn set for five gauge projects, and have been very happy with them. The great thing about the Chaio Goo set is that I can always add additional sizes, cables, and joins. I absolutely love knitting with the various fixed length Chaio Goo lace needles in my tool kit, so finally broke down and got the interchangeable set.
Same here. I can’t remember the last time I knitted a project with larger than 5mm needles. I have the shorties, which I use for sleeves and hats, but broke down and bought a set of 5” minis. I’ve never regretted buying them, knitting a Shetland lace piece with 2.0mm right now 😃
I heard so much good about this chiaoGoo’s needles👌 Finally after watching Staci🙏💝 podcast, I will order it for sure🥰 Thanks you for sharing your experience with us🙏
I now own both the 5" and 4" tip sets, along with an array of cables, and the Mini set. Nearly everyone in my knitting circle uses these. ChiaoGoos are truly a knitting luxury. I'm also very excited to see they're coming out with interchangeable sets with even shorter tips, all the way down to 9" total length, for things like socks or sleeves.
@Jenny Simon I bought both size tips. I gravitate to the 5 inch but really like the 4 inch too. I have a couple of 9 inch circulars for socks too as well as fixed circulars in the ChiaoGoo. I love my Addi’s , Knitters Pride and Knit Picks too. I would love to try Signature Needle Arts but they are just too expensive and I’ve spent a lot over the years, lol.
@@theastewart6721 thsbk you so much for the recommendation. Yeah I'm now looking at the coated ones a little more. Knit picks has the better more flexible cables for magic loop right? I'm thinking of the Carbon fiber ones or the shiny plated ones. I don't want the finish to rub off though. That is what makes me pause. I want them to last. I like the idea of the shiny slick finish but don't want durability issues either.
@Jenny Simon. I think ChiaoGoo has the most flexible cable. They have no memory so they go right back to their original state when you’re done with them. Are you referring to the Karbonz with the black finish? They look notice too. I’m thinking of them for double pointed needles.
I have the complete set... it's my absolute all time favourite. It's really helped me speed up my work and I'm SO impressed with what it comes with. Definitely worth the price!
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to see a review on these needles but none of the ones online ever show a good close up of the needles. This was quite helpful!
I have many different needles especially for me sock knitting but I LOVE my chiaogoo’s. I will pick them anytime over everything else I own. The cord alone wins me over. I’m glad you liked them as well and really love your reviews.
Amazing review....after long thought I purchased the small and large bamboo set. I have never been disappointed with either. Both sets are super quality and I adore them. I was also curious about the metal ones and loved that you showed us the pros of those.
Hello. Thank you for the review. I love my ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles as well as my non-interchangeable- ChiaoGoo. Love the feel of them and how easy the yarn slides off the needles.
Thank you so much Staci for reviewing the ChiaGoo and other interchangeable needle sets. I started with the Clover ones because that was all that was available locally when I started knitting. I wanted to knit socks, so I bought some laminated wood circulars online in very small sizes....that was an expensive mistake! Although beautiful and nice to knit with, they are very fragile. Since I have nickel allergies, I was very reluctant to buy nickel needles. I had been looking at the ChiaGoos but thought the price prohibitive. Thanks to you and all the wonderful comments, I indulged in a set of minis for now. Can't wait to get them!
They really do make the best needles. I bought my first set for a blanket. This blanket is VERY heavy and my needles have been able to handle it without ever having trouble.
Best brand in the market. I have several sizes now. May have to indulge in set. I didn't know the shorter cables could be joined to form a longer one! Thanks to an earlier comment citing this feature. Shawls are current obsession. Thank you for review, and your work in general. Excellent videos.
I actually switched from my Knitter’s Pride interchangeable set about 3 months ago because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cords!!! I hated the other cords with memory, they were a nightmare to work with! So happy you are spreading the word on these Stacie! Maybe know people can make the right choice in interchangeable sets.. ChiaoGoo all the way!
Thank you so much for doing this review! After trying many different brands, I settled on the ChiaGoos and absolutely love them! They are the best of all worlds.
Love, love, love my Chaigoo interchangeable needles. In my opinion they leave other brands in the dust. Just wish they had a set of larger size DPNs. To match their dpn sock set. Absolutely love your tutorials and videos Staci... you really do take the scary out of knitting, you are appreciated, thank you.
Welcome to your new favorite needles! I absolutely love them. I have both sets as well and ever since I got them they are all I'll use. I tried to use other brands with plastic cords (i.e. HiyaHiya Lykke) and can't stand them. I adore ChiaoGoo cords. ❤
So glad you like your ChiaoGoo sets, they are my favs! I bought the 5” steel tip set several years ago and have since purchased the minis and also 4” bamboo tips in the sizes I use most, because I like using bamboo yarn and occasionally other ‘slippery’ fibers. Those tips are quite nice also and fit the red lace cords, so you needn’t invest in another full set to have them. Happy Knitting!
I have both the blue and the red sets and I'll never use anything else for sweater sleeves again. I started out with knitters pride needles and hiya hiya then tried chiaogoo in 2020. I haven't touched the hiya hiya needles since 3/2020 and much longer with knitters pride since those cables/cords always unscrew themselves when I'm mid-row
I've had this in my amazon cart a long time. I'm fixing to get them though because I need 16 in needles of all sizes for knitting sweaters and hats and I have had the 5 in needle set for several years. I only use Chiaogoo. They are the best needles out there in my opinion. The smaller ones for socks also knit like a dream with magic loop. Thank you for this review. Price for this 4 in set on Amazon right now is 115.00 which is great and for the complete set. The price on ebay right now is 165.00 What a difference!
This is my go-to needle-set (I have the regulars but only up to size 8). If I could afford it I would get all their other sets and use only those. The cables are like no other-absolutely NO memory at all. And the steel makes such a pleasant sound. My first interchangeables were Knitter’s Pride that I only use if I absolutely have to because I HATE the cables on them. Chiagoo ALL THE WAY!!
What a beautiful and amazing set! I had never seen such a small size in circular needled either! that's really great! And the pouch to put them in is so pretty (for the bigger sizes)
I have the Red Lace set and they are all I use! I love ChaiGoo! You can also just order the cords in different lengths on Amazon to make it even more versatile.
Thanks for this incredible review. I've been using the larger set for a few months now, and am in love with their ease and simplicity of use. Thanks for agreeing with me! I love being right... :-)
I have had the longer needle set for about 5-6 years now and just love them....since the shorter needles have come out I have been buying them individually and there is a spot for them in the bigger needle case right below the larger needle.....
I am not sure you can even respond to this per the "YT rules" but does watching the ads all the way through still help the creator? I always do as a small nod of thanks for the effort creators put into creating, editing and uploading their videos. However, it can get tiresome and if it doesn't do anything for you, then I will skip the ads. Love you videos. You are a fantastic teacher! After your review of these needles, I am going to check out the Red Lace set.
It's nice of you to consider this question. :) The short answer is yes...the YT creators make more money (we're talking a fraction of a cent, usually) the longer a viewer watches the ads, and the most money if a viewer finishes the ad. But here's the thing...don't watch the ads if they don't interest you. That helps YT tailor what you're actually interested in. For example, I always skip past the ads for diapers, because I don't have kids. But I'll stick around and watch a well-produced ad for lipstick, because it's entertaining and I can be sold a tube of lipstick. :)
I also watch the ads all the way through (or at least let them run while I get up to get a drink or use the bathroom or something) and I've wondered this too, so thanks for asking about it. I don't do it for random videos I watch, but for Staci's channel I do because I figured it's one little thing I could do to thank her, along with the liking/sharing/subscribing.
@@verypinkknits Thanks for this information, because I do like to support the content providers I watch all the time. I'm actually a youtube subscriber, so I don't see ads at all. How does that affect the content providers?
@@PollyEdwards1 - from what I understand, content providers (called creators on YT) make money from ad-free subscribers who watch videos. I don't know all of the details, but I believe it is comparable to the money made from ad views. Thank you for asking and being curious about it!
Oh man! That mini set is on my wish list. I knit my socks on US 000’s so these would be perfect. I’m a loose knitter so I always need to go down several needle sizes. I would use this set all the time! Thanks for doing this review!
Just got these and I really like them!! ...Was scared that they would be too slick but they are just right! Easy to work the stitches but they don’t just slide off...and, yes, the cables are great!!
I’m a interchangeable set junkie. I’ve had Knit Picks, all four Addi Clicks sets, Knitters’ Pride and Hiya Hiya. After a while, I became disenchanted with them mainly because of coily cords or jagged joins, or uncomfortable in someway that left me wanting more. I decided to try a Chiaogoo circular and immediately loved the weight and feel of the needles, and the cables are strong but light weight. The tips are sharp enough to handle cobweb lace and work well with heavy wool, not splitting it. I’ve purchased the 4- and 5- sets to make sure I can handle any project and all that remains is to get rid of the other sets I can no longer see myself using.
I treated myself to the small and large needles kit for my birthday last year. Later, I purchased a US 1 and US 1.5 mini with mini cords at a fibre show. I have every size needle and cord that I could possibly need. The price is reasonable, the needles are sharp, the joins cause no problems at all. The cords are superior. They are by far the best needles I have ever used. The case for storage is compact and functional. Addi's used to be my favorite sock needles, but the cords started to go out of shape. The ChaiGoo mini cords are far superior. I would highly recommend these sets for quality, value and ease of use. I did not purchase the mini set simply because I don't use anything smaller than a US 1. I will probably purchase a couple more small cables so I can do multiple projects at the same time. I prefer metal needles so that is what I got. Several of my knitting buddies have the wood (bamboo?) ChaiGoo sets and like those. I think your review is spot on.
Woohoo! So glad to see this! I’ve had these for a few years now and didn’t see many using them...now so many more have found them and see how good they really are!
I have HiyaHiyas interchangeable sets and I love, love, love them! But now you make me want to try the Chiagoos - your enthusiasm in this review sold me. Lol. x Davie
I finally splurged on the 5" Complete Chiaogoo for Christmas because I needed a 2nd one (I already own a complete Hiya Hiya Sharp set (and an old Denise which I will never use again so gave it to my 7 year-old daughter who started learning knitting with me and they have the perfect grip and size for her). I really wanted to know what was all the fuss about the cords and - oh boy - you are sooooooo right about them! No memory hold at all - no annoying dangling bits, nice give without being too stiff (I'm looking at you Denise Interchangeable set), great joints - really impressive! I agree with you about the HHs being sleeker than CGs - which I love - and I can not really choose which set I like the most. HH swivel cords are great and way better than most nylon cords I have tried at my LYS or my friends' sets from other brands but CG cords are simply the best. HH and CG joints are super smooth and both brands have made wonders with the actual steel needles which are a pleasure to knit with. These sets are very expensive in Europe but I do not regret I bought them as they are really excellent tools - you definitely get what you pay for. 💖 Thank you very much for your reviews, Staci - they really are helpful! x Davie
Stacie, the really well thought out part is the cord connectors so you can connect 2 cords to make a longer cord. So imagine making a hat...16 inch knitting in the round when you start the decrease you can just add in your longer cord to the 8 inch cord and then you're magically in magic loop. It's a game changer.
These are the first and *almost* only interchangeables I use. I bought all my small and large needles and cables here and there from an Etsy shop over a course of time but I bought the "Spin" cables. They are the clear, seemingly thicker and definitely stiffer cables that do, unfortunately, have a good memory. After purchasing the mini set once I got into sock knitting, I realized how wonderful the red "Twist" cables are, so I since purchased an additional one for my small needles (not minis) and will gradually build on that. I'm not sure if I'll be able to fix a red cable if/when it breaks, but I always restore my clear cables with a lit match to create a "bulbous" end and a pair of scissors to chip away at it until it is small enough to fit back in the casing but still big enough to keep it from going all the way through. I do wish I had purchased the small and large needles in a set because I love the case and the organization. Thanks for your reviews of all of the needles. It is great to know what others' opinions are of the many options out there for us without us having to learn the hard way! PS: the *almost* other set I purchased was a size I didn't have but needed in a hurry. I went to a JoAn's store because of the convenience of it and the only interchangeables they had were Clover brand. They are bamboo and not slippery AT ALL, so that even when kitting extremely loose, I'm always working hard to move those stitches forward. I wouldn't recommend them at all!
I recently bought my first ChiaoGoo circular needles to try out and LOVE them! I have been knitting for not quite 1 1/2 years and had a 3 circular needles that came with some other needles that I got off of Craigslist. The smallest needles worked fine, but the other two sizes drove me crazy because of the cords. I am looking forward to requesting the entire set for Christmas this year as I work on improving my knitting skills. Thank you for doing this review on them. I know you are partial to the Knitter's Pride circulars, so I was very happy to see you do one for ChiaoGoo circulars.
I love my first set of Chaigo to interchangeables. The set also includes 2 cord connectors, so you can join 2 cords to get longer length. That is, the 14" cord and the 22" cord can be joined to give a 36" cord. So with the two 4" needle tips, I get a 44" circular needle. I haven't tried the 5" tips, but they are available. I have several chaigoo fixed circular needles that have 5" tips and love them. Also, I have several of the 9" sock circulars by Chaigoo. They are fabulous. Have an issue with hand cramping on the small needle, regardless of the brand, but wow! The stitch-quality and way the metal and cord handles the yarn is wonderful.
I definitely agree with everyone. These needles are wonderful. I love their sharpness and, especially, the cord that doesn't keep curling. My local yarn shop recently suggested these so I bought a US 5, 40" cord, and I want more.
I’m suprised on how thin the wires are on that, I love the look of this set, it looks like a good set to take any place and know you don’t have to hunt down a store for a different size. I really like how easy it all fits in that small case
I love my Chiagoo needles! The last two pairs of needles I purchased were Chiagoo, and I think that will be the case going forward. A specialty yarn store near my home sells them, and I'm going to see if they carry those sets. Thanks for the review!
These look awesome! It says in the Amazon description "The needle tips feature a lifeline hole that makes adding a lifeline as simple as knitting across the row". It would be great to see how that works - i love using lifelines.
I was stuck between asking for these or for the Clover bamboo set for my birthday/Christmas present. I think my decision has been made. Thanks for the review ma'am!
I've had the mini twists for a year (as well as the hiyahiya's socks interchangeable) and they're absolutely lovely to work with. I'm glad you're branching out and trying other brands. :)
I hated circular needles until I discovered Chiaogoo, mostly due to icky cables holding me hostage to the form “they” wanted to hold. I now own the 2”, 3”, 4” & 5” stainless steel sets. I don’t know that I need them but the bamboo sets are next on the acquisitions list. Chiaogoo needles made me a better knitter and I whole heartedly recommend these needles, would buy them again and would gift them without hesitation.
I have not used anything else since I got my Chiaogoo needles. It's mainly the cords that I'm addicted to. You might note that the needles are stainless steel and not nickle-plated. Some people feel the nickle-plated needles are much slicker and, therefore, faster to knit with. I don't see much difference between the stainless steel and nickle-plated, but I think there is a small amount of drag on the Chiaogoos versus, e.g., the Addis or other nickle-plated needles. But for me that infinitesimal difference is not important.
DamnSkippyToo you are right that they are a little bit less slick than nickel plated BUT I love them because I have metal allergies and my perspiration discolors and may break down the nickel plating. I have used the minis for socks and the other set for other things and haven’t noticed any discoloration. Many times I can’t use a sewing needle or cross stitch needle very long before their coating is eaten through. I love my ChiaoGoo knitting needle sets!
Chiaogoo was my first (and currently only) good set of needles after straight aluminums and acrylic circulars (which I absolutely hated). They basically converted me from not really liking knitting and much preferring crochet to seeking out knitting projects. I have the 2-15 set and really like it and the two sets of cable, I plan on getting the Tunisian hooks and the mini and shorty sets soon for some projects. I love that the T-hooks are cross-compatible with the needles since it will be perfect for some upcoming experimentation. I went through and destashed all my old cheap needles which saves a lot of space too.
I had a similar journey - started on plastic covered aluminium straight needles as a kid but never stuck with it. When I started getting interested in knitting again a few years ago I didn't trust straight needles to be long enough since wanted to knit clothes for myself, and I'm very large. I somehow landed on circular needles, tried my mom's very old budget ones and couldn't stand how the plastic cord kept curling and getting in the way. Did tons of research, found these, and very impulsively bought the Mini set + the Small sizes open stock. I've had them for a couple of years now and although I'll look at new sets every so often I always end up shrugging and deciding that my set is already pretty much perfect 🤷 As for space, well, I keep my whole collection in the Mini mesh pouch - it really couldn't get much more compact than that!
Also the complete sets are US2-8& US9-15 BUT Chiaogoo sells a US2.5 (3mm) and US10.75 (7mm) and 10.5(6.5mm) individually which you can add to your sets , these come in both 4" & 5". I don't think any other interchangable needle maker offers these. And Staci thanks for this awesome review. You will love these needles ! And try their Bamboo Spins. I love those for slippery yarn, and the clear nylon spin cords have memory but they have swivel hubs which are awesome for small circles , like 16" (like hats), and their Spins and Twists are swappable!
I just ordered a Chiaogoo TWIST Shorties and am on pins and needles till they come. I've been knitting nothing but socks lately and love knitting lace also. I know how I am, if I am half as thrilled as I am anticipating, I'll be ordering more from Chiaogoo in the future. I have a set of bamboo interchangeables from Knitter's Pride and I do still love them. Anyway, very anxious. You always do such great reviews!
I bought a Chaiogoo fixed circular after my Addi clicks were too dull for a lace project....I think I know what my next interchangeable set will be. LOVE the Chaiogoos.
the other good thing is that they are made of stainless steel. I have a nickel allergy and found this set to be one of the few if any of the good needlesto not have nickel and they have a lifeline hole as well.
Great review, as always. Looking forward to your others. I love this set with such great chords and all the extras that come with it. I did not know about the minis though. Like others that have commented, I really like the ability to combine the cords with the connector that they provide for an extra long cord. And I do have their bamboo set which I like to use for more slippery yarns. I was lucky that I started with a good set.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chiaogoo interchangeables!! Am I a terrible person that I was disappointed that you're not giving a set away? LOL, I'll live. Thank you for reviewing these. I'm sure you've inspired many more to give them a try!
What attracts me to these is the fact that the regular set start at size 2.75mm......so many interchangeable sets start with a 3mm or even a 3.75mm. On the other hand, I can't see myself getting much use out of the mini set....I have never knitted anything using such small gauge needles! Thanks for the review.
I ordered the small set after watching your needle comparison video. My very first pair of socks was just completed using these needles and I can't say enough good things about them! I had absolutely no idea what that silicone heart was for though, I've been using two of the keys (facing opposite directions) for tightening/loosening the needle tips, one in the tip and one in the cord. Guess I'll try the heart for my next project!
Love love love my Chiaogoo twist set, stainless. I have convinced two other people, maybe three in my knit/crochet group to get them as well. Next I wanna get the lace set.
Staci, you forgot to tell everyone they come with a cord adapter for the large and small cords- they are extremely useful for bigger projects without having to buy longer cords. I LOVE my Chiagoo interchangeables! Great investment! Thanks for this review!!
Staci, I think you forgot to say “I’m giving away the fabulous mini set”
xD
Reflexology52 Welsh so sorry about your fire and sending hope for rebuilding your life better than ever
I'm sorry about your home! I hope everyone got out okay!
Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to here about the fire. ❤️
Sandy from Cincinnati
💜💜😎
My birthday is Sunday and I’m asking for these needles!
I
I also gifted myself with the Red Lace set when I was 75. It much be a special age, Sandy! I’m now 4 years older and I love them. Nothing but the best. You’ll also feel the same way. Happy birthday!
My birthday is tomorrow, it's my 43rd but I had to watch 1 more review to convince myself to get them for my birthday. I can't wait.
Happy Birthday, Sandy! These are going to be my 30th birthday gift from my guy.
i've been hemming and hawing about this set of interchangeables for eons and your review just pushed me over the edge. heaven help my wallet!
If you're thinking of buying these, DO IT! They are fantastic
I recently received the large set for my birthday. These are now my absolute favorite knitting needles!
I've bought my CG needles piecemeal, so never got a case, but after seeing yours I'm going to buy one (they're available separately)
Great review.
Edit:
Just saw this after clicking on another's link...
I love my Chiagoos . I also love that the lace and spin cords are interchangeable with the metal and wood needles.
I’ve never regretted buying them, knitting a Shetland lace piece with 2.0mm right now 😃
I heard so much good about this chiaoGoo’s needles👌
Finally after watching Staci🙏💝 podcast, I will order it for sure🥰
Thanks you for sharing your experience with us🙏
These are my absolute favorite needles! They are all that I have been using since I got them! Nothing beats that red lace cord.
Syhalla Bales which size do you prefer? The 5 or 4 inch?
@@theastewart6721 yeah I'm debating on which to get too. I can't decide.
I'm a crocheter who is going to knit dammit..when I can't decide 😢
Love that you told me about the cords on the minis. Thanks for all your videos.
I have the complete set... it's my absolute all time favourite. It's really helped me speed up my work and I'm SO impressed with what it comes with. Definitely worth the price!
For me, the 4 inch needles cramped my hands so bad I had to exchange them for the 5 inch. Absolutely love them ♥️
Chiaogoo interchangeable needle sets are the best! i have them and would never go to another brand. i have all of there products and love them.
Thank you for explaining everything so well. That’s why I got both sets. Thank you again. I just love them ❤
Best brand in the market.
I have both and I agree the red cords are lovely!
It just makes the whole process more pleasurable! I don't know what I would do without my full size set or my mini!
I love the short needles for straight knitting. I feel it’s more efficient. I like the longer needles for more intricate patterns.
Chiaogoos are amazing! I'm excited about the Shorties interchangeable coming out soon that allow you to make 9" and 12" circulars! Crazy, right? 😄
I watched this video a couple of times which convinced me to get both in size 5 I love them so thank you for this video ❤️
I have been using Chiagoo circulars for 10 yrs and love love love them I so need these sets as mine are not interchangeable.
I have two size 2 needles, 32 inch and a 60in. I’m saving up for this set right now. I love the cable and the needles!! 🧦 are so easy!
Good to know :)
Thank you very much for your reviews, Staci - they really are helpful!
Great review. I love my Chia Goo Red Lace needles. Have not seen the Red Lace Mini set before. That would be an amazing addition to the set.
The mini set sure is tempting. I’ve been thinking about getting an interchangeable set but these are the first I’ve seen in smaller sizes.
These have always been my go to needles. So glad you did this review.
LOVE my ChaiGoo needles my sister bought for me...now I covet the mini set! She probably needs it too.
I love these needles. I recently bought a second set so I can work in the round on two needles.
I've had them for a couple of years now and although I'll look at new sets every so often I always end up shrugging and deciding that my set is already pretty much perfect 🤷
As for space, well, I keep my whole collection in the Mini mesh pouch - it really couldn't get much more compact than that!
What a great review. Ive been looking at the "minis' for awhile, but had not decided on the purchase. I really think it's a great set. Thanks, Staci.
I love these needles. I have the red lace set. I didn't know about mini set. Will be going on my Christmas list.
this is sooo nice. I love these needles and would be so happy to win them. You do such a great job for us all. thank you .
I have these red lace needle set. I truly love this set.
Finally got these based on this review. They are truly amazing 💖
Well, hey - if ChiaoGoo notices that this video has created some buzz, maybe they'll send me some sets to give away? :)
