24:00 - RE: Photoshopping. You're not documenting historical events, you're creating art. Using every trick available to you to achieve that goal is fair game and there's nothing wrong with it.
Also, it really hurts to see you hunched over that tiny laptop while working in Photoshop. Please do yourself a favour and get a decent desktop set up with a nice large screen!
I am continuously blown away by this woman's incredible talent. How can one person be so amazingly creative, hard working, humble, genuine, beautiful, talented and masterful of absolutely everything she puts her hand to??? Christine, can you do a web series on curing COVID, achieving world peace, fixing income inequality, saving the environment and finding the fountain of eternal youth and wellness???? All in vintage, spooky retro style????
Hey Christine, love this video! Just a little note from an art director that has done a lot of black and white photo colourisations...When you take out all the saturation first and completely recolour it, you are also taking away all the colour variation in the original colours. So the green in the original dress had a lot of yellows and oranges on the left hand side coming from the candles and cooler blue tones from the blue light from the top of the stairs and also blue tones in the shadows. When you desaturate and recolour the whole thing to be pink, you are loosing the realistic hue variation and I think its looks a touch flat in the final image. I also learnt that EVERYTHING reflects colour (not just lighting), even if it's super subtle. So for instance as your dress is so close to the banisters, you would actually want to paint in a touch of brown on to the part of the dress nearest. Although this would be toned down a lot, its all the subtle touches that make it look more realistic. There are many ways to do this, but for specific areas I would add a layer on top of the pink recoloured dress and set it to 'Color' blending mode, then paint on the colours you want to add back in with a soft brush and adjust the opacity to tone it up or down. Another way to add variation to big areas, is to add a 'Gradient Map' adjustment layer and you can specify a gradient to map on to the black and white image. This way you can pick a slightly cooler pink for the shadows and a slightly warmer pink for the highlights. This gives a great base to start where you can then add your more specific colour adjustments. I hope I haven't come across bad, I truly think this is a wonderful image, and am in awe of your many talents! I just see this problem a lot with colour retouching and want to pass the knowledge along!
I have been a Photoshop professional since it's inception, I have to say Christine could have a career doing nothing but master classes in the program. I, on the other hand, got her talent, but mostly it's drawing/painting! I'm 43, so doing anything on the computer where art is concerned bores me to tears...lol!! In regards to the incandescent vs LED and florescent: there are available LED bulbs with a orange color temperature similar to incandescent, I recommend 2700k. Cheaper LED bulbs do not list their color temperature but you can always find some at a hardware store. 2700k is the same color light as an incandescent bulb, but with added cost and energy savings as LED.

Just a note; the double louvered candle sconce on your stair landing is actually an old piano sconce so if you have an old upright piano or organ and have a second to make a pair they look cool attached above the keyboard a la phantom of the opera
Well said! I’ve been collecting and restoring antiques for more than 30 years-but I’m in Florida, and we have fewer Victorian houses than some states because heat, humidity, and termites destroy them without constant maintenance. I’m so impressed at your meticulous detailed eye. Art Director, photographer, pet whisper, capture whisper, model, graphic designer, and interior designer. You are a true artist Christine. It’s a privilege to watch your Channel.
This is incredibly fun to watch. I get down a lot because I feel misunderstood for liking darker things and vintage stuff. I am fascinated by beautiful things and intrigued by morbid things. People make me feel bad about it. When I watch your videos, I feel so inspired and like I’m not alone in what I enjoy and what I’m interested in. I work six days a week in a factory and this video is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for letting my mind wander to an alternate reality for a bit. Even my bones are tired. There is magic in all of your videos and everything you do. My mom says I look a lot like you and we are a lot alike. You are such a great role model for me. Thank you for being your authentic self and showing the beauty in originality and in hard work. Everyone should be their authentic selves. The world would be more beautiful. There is beauty in light and there is much to be learned from the darkness. I hope one day I can meet you! Keep up the great work! 💝
I'm not a photographer. But after working as a performer and alternative model for many years, I always pay attention to every detail with myself before stepping out on stage or in front of a camera. And this is one thing I love about you - your attention to every little detail! Like putting on perfume to get into the right mood... One tip I would add is music! At least when photographing humans (ie not animals). You can always be the right kind of music for what ever mood you want the model to portray, and it can really help! To get shot by you, with a few cats and a few bats, would be a dream honey! :D
I've been using "Ron's smoke Photoshop brushes" to create mist or fog on composites and they work great. Might be easier than using a whole photo. Love the slightly open door with curtains and hint of blue light in your room. Genius!
This is seriously some of the highest quality content on RUclips. I always feel like I’m watching an expensive fancy TV show.

this woman is so awesome she tries to master every crafting art she is interested in
This has been one of the best you tube videos I’ve ever seen. Absolutely fantastic, and I have learnt so much. Wow.
WOO HOO 🙌
SHE’S BAAAACK 🎃 👻
I have been looking and looking for you. What a lot of work went into creating this photo. Just beautiful. Don’t be gone for so long this time. As you can see, everybody misses you.
I just realized that I've learned so much from watching this video than my photography and digital imaging classes this semester
Thank you thank you thank you, for speaking on pet photography and the care to be taken. I cannot express how much I love you for this alone. ❤ xo a fellow rescuer.
I always love when you upload to RUclips! Please upload whenever u get the chance! No pressure of course :) 👍🏼
Omg! More of these??!!. YES PLEASE!!!.. THIS was so much fun to watch!.. if every photo-shop class was like this I would be signed up in a heartbeat! When someone puts this much effort to detail in creating such a vid, I'm HOOKED!...sooo inspiring too! Thank you for awesome vid!🥰
Just wanted to say thank you for introducing me to Gunship!!
Christine, you are immaculate by nature! Love the honest effort to details you always display, I can't be jealous of someone who puts in the work! xx
I’m so impressed at your meticulous detailed eye. Art Director, photographer, pet whisper, capture whisper, model, graphic designer, and interior designer. You are a true artist Christine. It’s a privilege to watch your Channel.
Oh my goodness, the purring was so delightful to listen to. Very helpful tips, thank you!!!
🕯🕷All hail the QUEEN of Dark Academia🕸📜
The queen is back 🖤
This is incredibly fun to watch.
Im convinced that she's magic. There is nothing that she cannot do!!!
You are amazing!!! You are so articulate and your projects are complicated and beautiful! One of a kind!!
Omg please make more videos!! I’m missing your creativity!! I hope you are doing well!! Much L💗VE! 💗💗💗💗
Christine is back!!!! Omg, the euphoria I felt is not normal; listening to this opening music made me literally tear
I've been using "Ron's smoke Photoshop brushes" to create mist or fog on composites and they work great. Might be easier than using a whole photo. Love the slightly open door with curtains and hint of blue light in your room. Genius!
