Yeah, lol, as an artist myself, she's very inspiring...& also pisses me off!!! I say that with admiration, (& truthfully, a little bit of jealousy that I'm having a hard time admitting to myself, as well as here!) I, on the other hand, got her talent, but mostly it's drawing/painting! I'm 43, so doing anything on the computer where art is concerned bores me to tears...lol!! The intellectual side of me hates admitting that too, but it's the truth. I love the "old school" way of doing things...but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to convert after seeing the insanity of this portrait!

Hey Christine, love this video! Just a little note from an art director that has done a lot of black and white photo colourisations...When you take out all the saturation first and completely recolour it, you are also taking away all the colour variation in the original colours. So the green in the original dress had a lot of yellows and oranges on the left hand side coming from the candles and cooler blue tones from the blue light from the top of the stairs and also blue tones in the shadows. When you desaturate and recolour the whole thing to be pink, you are loosing the realistic hue variation and I think its looks a touch flat in the final image. I also learnt that EVERYTHING reflects colour (not just lighting), even if it's super subtle. So for instance as your dress is so close to the banisters, you would actually want to paint in a touch of brown on to the part of the dress nearest. Although this would be toned down a lot, its all the subtle touches that make it look more realistic. There are many ways to do this, but for specific areas I would add a layer on top of the pink recoloured dress and set it to 'Color' blending mode, then paint on the colours you want to add back in with a soft brush and adjust the opacity to tone it up or down. Another way to add variation to big areas, is to add a 'Gradient Map' adjustment layer and you can specify a gradient to map on to the black and white image. This way you can pick a slightly cooler pink for the shadows and a slightly warmer pink for the highlights. This gives a great base to start where you can then add your more specific colour adjustments. I hope I haven't come across bad, I truly think this is a wonderful image, and am in awe of your many talents! I just see this problem a lot with colour retouching and want to pass the knowledge along!
i passed this mansion almost every day growing up. it was always well kept. it used to have high hedges all the way around, but the owners previous to this one removed them and ran a bed & breakfast here. i’m not sure if the 2 story garage behind this house is still there, but it was always claimed it had several antique autos in it.
In regards to the incandescent vs LED and florescent: there are available LED bulbs with a orange color temperature similar to incandescent, I recommend 2700k. Cheaper LED bulbs do not list their color temperature but you can always find some at a hardware store. 2700k is the same color light as an incandescent bulb, but with added cost and energy savings as LED.

Cool Second empire house. It’s nice to see a home like this owned by someone who actually fills it with antiques. Just a note; the double louvered candle sconce on your stair landing is actually an old piano sconce so if you have an old upright piano or organ and have a second to make a pair they look cool attached above the keyboard a la phantom of the opera
Well said! I’ve been collecting and restoring antiques for more than 30 years-but I’m in Florida, and we have fewer Victorian houses than some states because heat, humidity, and termites destroy them without constant maintenance. Therefore, I can’t afford a pricey Victorian house, and it just KILLS me when I see videos of gorgeous Victorian interiors and they modernize the house and furniture. What are they thinking? 🤦🏻♀️
Your eye for detail is second to none. I would have never guessed how much work you put in a picture , fantastic video. On a side note your beautiful, scary but beautiful.

I'm not a photographer. But after working as a performer and alternative model for many years, I always pay attention to every detail with myself before stepping out on stage or in front of a camera. And this is one thing I love about you - your attention to every little detail! Like putting on perfume to get into the right mood... One tip I would add is music! At least when photographing humans (ie not animals). You can always be the right kind of music for what ever mood you want the model to portray, and it can really help! To get shot by you, with a few cats and a few bats, would be a dream honey! :D

Watching this I noticed she was doing all this brush work….WITH HER MOUSE!???? My god the precision! Can’t be me, I need my graphics tablet for this
I’m a photoshop snob and wanted to suggest the false lash, brow and lip brushes. Essentially these are makeup brushes to help build up your lashes, liner or brows. I use these all the time if my lashes look a bit small or I may not have any on. They work fantastic to enhance and not distort your features. You can find them on a lot of sites. Sending love and I can’t wait to see more from you!!
The most magical thing is all this done by a mouse Not Wacom anything. What a fantastic job.
This was so interesting to watch, thank you for sharing your expertise! I never could have guessed how much time, effort and artistry went into creating a picture like this; the final image is amazing! It really seems like a painting made with modern tools 😄 🖼
I do not have the patience, skills or TALENT that this kind of photography takes but I thoroughly enjoyed the video and would love to watch more!
Practically perfect in every way.
Love you Christine 🖤 and your furry babies!
Omg please make more videos!! I’m missing your creativity!! I hope you are doing well!! Much L💗VE! 💗💗💗💗

New Christine McConnell content?! This can’t get any better- pets are now being seen and we hear purring and a squeak meow
*MY HEART GONNA EXPLODE*
Who else watched this when she first released it on Patreon and came back to watch again??
OMG I was searching for a new Christine video yesterday, thinking it’s been way too long. So excited for this!
I’m in love with that movie theater photograph 😎😲😱😱😱 LOVE IT!!!
Wow. VERY educational. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise! As far as the Photoshop controversy, I think most people are fine with it in fantasy settings. It's really when companies and magazines Photoshop things but try to sell them as reality that most reasonable individuals take issue with it. Thank you again for this. ❤
43:10 that final zoom-in of lil derp face 😂😻😻
this woman is so awesome she tries to master every crafting art she is interested in
I just think Christine McConnell might be the most talented person on this earth
I am so confused as to why Christine doesn't have 1M followers or more!! Her talent his breathtaking
I would have to guess not enough free content.
I'm smiling. I was utterly depressed when I started watching this video. Now I am smiling. Christine works wonders.
Love this episode. Thank you ,thank you, thank you Christine. I also enjoyed looking at bits and pieces of your home on how you have decorated it. Can't afford to be a patron at any level. Need to help family with money because of pandemic. Lost three to covid. So happy you showed something. Again thank you. Take care be safe and God bless.
Happy Halloween 🔥🎃🎃🔥
💗
I love you, Christine! And your house! *Squeels* *FANGIRL* *FAAAIINNTT* lol :)
I am a graphic designer but took a long break from it. After seeing this video you have 100% inspired me to give it another try. You have an amazing skill and I'm so happy you are trying to help others learn more! 👏🏻❤
Yessss, it has been forever, but always worth it!
Im convinced that she's magic. There is nothing that she cannot do!!!
I’m getting pulp fiction vibes with the creeper in the basement 😂 love these videos, they have such a creepy magic vibe!
Idk how this chicken doesn't have a million followers. She's the epitome of talent, craft, and dedication.
We’ve missed you! 🖤
Christine never ceases to amaze. How can one person master all of the tricks and trades? 😍
I’m so excited about this! I’d very much love a photoshop live stream!
I love the way she makes it so original. Not looking for anyone's way just her way. We legit need more Christine McConnell's in this world.
