This shade is phenomenal. Like Shelly I've been covering lamp shades for over 40 years in the techniques that you were using and learning as you go along are ones that were used by Victorian shade makers and dressmakers. When I thrift fabrics I look for silk lingerie and wedding dresses to use for shades. Sometimes I also stencil fabric after I've cut the patterns. My four cats are also a big help. 82 and still making lampshades.
🌺 When I do my lampshade to match my green Croscill Grenada curtains, pillows, and green velvet antique settee, I'm going to hang small green uranium beeded strings and put in a black lightbulb and a regular lightbulb. Bet no one's done that yet.

Crafting while surrounded by kitties is pretty much the life goal I set out to achieve. Kudos on living the dream! I think the hand-stitching was beautifully employed here. As much as I love hot-glue, you get so much more precision and longevity out of sewing those little details in place.
I had to laugh at your comment about your fur babies being attracted to you while sewing - I think it might be the same with children, too - lol - my mother was a very good seamstress - she made a lot of my & my sisters’ clothing, as well as her own & she always said that as soon as she would sit down at the sewing machine, my younger sisters would start crawling around her - they were only 15 months apart - she tried to be extra cautious, but just happened to look down one day & there was one of my sisters just about to put a pin into her mouth ! I don’t think she could relax at the sewing machine until they were about 5 or 6 ! That was a memory I hadn’t thought of for a long time & my mom is gone now, so thanks for jogging my memory ! All that aside, I’m sure I am repeating myself to say how just simply amazing you are at everything you tackle - I really don’t know of anyone who has such a wide range of skills - I just can’t figure out how you could have learned it all in the short time you have been on earth - it’s astonishing, truly …. thank you so much for sharing your life with us - I have never, ever attempted any of the things I have seen you do & pretty sure I never will, but I am nevertheless fascinated by it all ! Greetings from Florida ! 🥰

I have found using a soldering iron is a great way to cut out lace from mesh! So much faster and easier on your hands
Your talent and patience always amazes me. This lampshade is stunning.
I love how whenever you start off by saying I've never done this before but it will be fine I know how to sew just always comes out like you have been doing these projects for years your so talented loves it xxx😍🥰❤😊
that lampshade is just drop dead gorgeous!!!!!! congratulations you are so skilled
Everything you design and make is absolutely beautiful. This lamp is a true treasure. I'm convinced by the way, that your home is actually the happiest place on earth.😽🐶💀💞💕💗❤️
I love the outcome and also the fact that you decided to sew everything on can’t wait to see more your lamp shade creations
You’ve recovered the antique lampshade beautifully! I love the colors you’ve chosen, the drawing and stitching of the spider, and also how the netting comes through as a web. What a stunning lampshade, Christine! 🕸️🕷️❤️
I just love your work, simply a beautiful lamp shade. i think your animals are adorable too.
I am always blown away by you craftwomanship, your patience and your love for details.. I could never! Thank you for sharing your art!
Ok, the whole time I'm thinking oh good grief, nothing is worth that effort. I am also a perfectionist, but I thought no way would I do that much work. I see the finish product......OH,MY.GOODNESS!!!!!! So worth all the effort! LOL! It is the most beautiful shade I think I've ever seen. WOW!
I LOVED her Netflix show, which is how I found her. I'm not going to lie, I check her channel pretty often, just to see if she's uploaded anything. I just love how she goes about her work and to see someone so talented just doing their thing. It's been 5 months since the last video and I'm pretty sad about it.
What is the name of it?
She mostly uploads on Patreon. The basic tiers are super pricey $3 or $7 per month.
Thank you for your comment about always wanting to be childless with cats. Living my dream with a dog. Love your work, simply beautiful
Your patience & love for projects like this always amaze me, spectacular job! 🙏🎩🕷🦇
OMG---that dress! And that starburst brooch (I love starburst mirrors and brooches), and that HAIR!!!.
It is so beautiful, every-time you added something it became even more impeccable
I would not have that much PATIENCE in all my life. Holy damn. It is incredible.
And ya, it is good to get a preview of the content on Patreon.
Beautiful job, Christine! Once again, you’ve created a masterpiece!!
It turned out beautifully! Your creativity and patience is admirable. Proactively childless women unite! ✊
Beautiful. Hoping to make one myself someday. There's another artist who crafts similar shades at "Ace of Shades Shop."
*Christine you’re my absolute favorite channel can you please make a video I love seeing how you decorate your home or you going to make a fall home decor video soon?* 🥰👑🌹
There’s a spooky elegance to every video and I love it! Christine is so knowledgeable about every project too!
Gorgeous lampshade and beautiful filming!
I found a giant double layered old lampshade, it’s like two separate skins, sewn so taut like a tent. It’s all stained but in good condition and I’m so glad I found your new video here, I’ll learn what to do with it! 😍 Your numerous creative skills are beyond amazing, thanks so much for showing us all 🤩 (I am also a child-free woman with several cats, you made me laugh with that quip)🤣
Absolutely breathtaking.. everything you do makes my heart smile. I just love the creepy grandma chic aspect of it all!
It's the highlight of my entire week when I get a notification you've uploaded a new video😍
Always in awe. Attention to detail is chefs kiss
I can not wait for the day you announced a home decor line. We would all love to own some of your home designs.
Stunning. The arachnid embroidery is gorgeous. Just wow.
Really appreciate you sharing your work with us. This is just beautiful!
Omg I found you on Netflix one late late night!!!! I’m such a fan now!!!!
I was alone in a dark room with my blanket, my dog next to me looking for something to watch. Out of curiosity I clicked on your show and I ended up beige watching all of the episodes.
I didn’t sleep that night and when I did it was morning, sun was up and I had some amazing visual dreams. 🙆🏽♀️
I’ve been having a rough week and I’ve been thinking how nice it would be if you posted again. I’m blessed, thank you!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend.
@@dot1384 you as well, thank you
Seeing this video. Makes me think, I need to change my lamp shade in my office to one like this. Loved the video.
Christine is so talented! Wow, I do not even like spiders and I think this is so beautiful.
All I can say is that shade is incredibly beautiful.
I read the title as "Recovering an antique lampshade FROM the mind of Christine" - and I love this concept 😂 theres literally a huge world of imagination and creativity in your mind and you just put it into reality!
OK, watched the video again. Need to update my previous comment. You are truely an amazing artist and craftsman. I would love to see more videos on your lampshade making process. Thank you ever so much.
It came out beautiful! I can't imagine how many hours this took, you have far more patience than I could manage. The addition of kitties is always welcome :)

Truly Stunning♥️. Moving soon into our dream home and I told my husband I am sewing our curtains which lead to redoing and matching my dinning room chairs just love putting my own touches! Love getting inspiration from you 💗
