You get ALL of her videos for as low as $3 a month. It's an unbelievable value. I'm on a fixed income as well. But $3 - that's one less 1/2 gallon of gas, or one less herb in the garden, or one less apple a month. I can't tell you how worth it Christine's patreon is. Hope you can find a way to make it work for you.
Every time you put out a video its like going back in time to Nana's house. The sights, the sounds, the style. It reminds me of the snuggly yet spooky feeling I would get while cuddled up with her on the couch and watching something scary on tv. She would be sewing something by hand, and she would always stick the pins in the arm of the chesterfield. Popop would fall asleep in his chair in front of the tv in his robe and slippers. What wonderful memories, thank you for that feeling.
When I see these videos I feel like Christine is trying to make her dream and somewhat spooky dollhouse but actually has the guts to do it in 1:1 scale. Does that make any sense?
Just when I think "Wow that looks amazing" she adds another detail, color, or texture that just knocks it out of the park. She really is in a class of her own with these creations 😍
Maybe this is morbid, but someday someone is going to inherit your original works (because I doubt you'll ever sell them!) And I wonder how much of a hard time someone will have in aging and valuing your pieces. You put such an immense amount of work, care, and attention into your projects and they come out absolutely perfect!
When I watch her make this stuff,I think the exact same thing lol I wish I was related to her somehow, that way I could inherit all this AMAZING stuff!!!❤❤❤

I am always telling everyone I know about Christine McConnell and the works of her hands. Then I run down a list of all the things Christine does like sewing, woodworking, designing/drawing her own wallpaper, restoring Victorian wallpaper, baking, restoring furniture, lampshades, making a dressform from cardboard boxes, making clothes, etc. etc. etc. and I feel like I still haven't even touched the surface!
That is gorgeous! I was afraid you abandoned your channel and am so glad to see this video! You seem to have the patience of a saint! Thank you for letting us back into your mind! I needed a dose of it! Lol
Christine, Years ago, as I was walking around our block, I see in the trah, 2 old tall black Victorian style lamps.. Mostly Victorian lamp shades. I knew what I could do with them. I had a magazine that showes HOW to make the lampshades. Just what you are doing. It took me a while, but I ended up making the shades in an off creamy white, with lots of fringe. I spray painted the metal base lamps, and my husband rewired the two. They looked beautiful, and I had them in my Victorian livingroom for years. I was proud of what I did. I am so glad I pushed myself to learn something knew....Good luck, yours look beautiful.. Jan from SC
Attention to detail is amazing. Christine's beautiful home is less than a 1/2 mile as the crow flies from my place on the other side of the Mohawk River.
Two words: antique thimble. I just inherited my maternal grandmother's thimble from my aunt, and it has heft because it's made of a thicker steel. It works for anything and everything from light embroidery to quilting to upholstery.
Thank you. The thimble I use, named Ethyl for her previous owner, is a sterling silver one from around the turn of the last century. Vintage and antique thimbles are sized. Usually the size matches the ring size of your middle finger of your dominant hand. I started getting used to her by just wearing her randomly around the house. Could not hand-sew without her. - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
It is fascinating to me how an artist can manifest an idea in their mind, and create it out into the world. I can sit here for two hours and think of a horse. But when I try and draw it , horse does not end up on the paper. So your abilities leave me speechless. Well, almost.
There's a trick! Lots of artists would think : horse...then do many drawings, paintings, sculptures, etc that imply a horse, as opposed to trying to manifest a very specific rendering of the horse in their mind. So, make it more fun, maybe say "I'm gonna make 10 horses with no rules or expectations except enjoying the process." Also, find the products you really love, finger paint, clay, wire, dirt!! That makes everything better.
I was impressed already when you were smoothly (and bravely!) painting those delicate details on with a line brush. Then you did those airbrush shadows?? Like... wow. These shades turned out unreal.
I'd trust her handy works over anything done by a computer, any day of the week!!! And kitties and puppies make everything better!!! I sure miss her very short lived baking show with the puppet monsters. That was so awesome.
Stunning is not a sufficient adjective to describe the beauty of these lamp shades! As a seamstress, I am beyond blown away with your technique and final product! Amazing!

I love that she mention that she doesn't just jump straight to the project, she does a lot of trial and error practice before hand. I find that many creators create the illusion that they do everything perfectly for first time and easily. And whenever i try at home and fail it discouraged me to keep on going saying i don't have it in me. Been watching Christine for years she is truly magnificent 😊. I love the Victorian/Spooky style

I am sure your have been told a million times how amazing your artistry it but I want to draw attention to your camera man and how lucky you are to have such a partner, to capture the different angles while you work. He really knows how to film and I admire his work. My artistic eye caught on to the touches of red right away from the cardinal to your opening scene. And I knew full well that lamp shade was not made in one sitting one afternoon. But the color red throughout the video really was as you say "cohesive", also a nice contrast to the shades of brown with the project at hand. Great choice. With his skills and your artistry the two of you make an amazing team to create such beautiful and engaging videos. Bravo to you both.
the intricacy of your designs and subsequent projects never ceases to amaze! while I have to say they are not something I feel capable of reproducing, it is fascinating to watch you work. thanks for sharing your talents.
I really love you so much Christine. Your videos really make my day better and It's like a breath of fresh air. Been having a really tough time with my dad in icu and having to drop a lot of my passions to be a caretaker, so it's fullfilling to see you being creative for me and I can live vicariously.
I think my subconscious has been avoiding this one from you for a while, because my Grandma(mother's side) was the biggest influence for me,and she did "spruce up" her own lamp shades... She also had her fingers at her temples, steaming over the familial arguments during the holiday-family get-togethers. We are a chaotic bunch, but i kind of learned on my own that, while sitting at her dinner table which she had spent so much time making home-made ice cream, setting a "proper" table, and all the little details...i eventually got wise enough to see that the family conversation was going toward a....well-chaotic way,and i would look over at her when she was just "done" with the blasphemy of the mundane arguments that got brought up at her table. Grandpa was always just...always quiet;he would try to steer the conversation elsewhere, but he never seemed to fight upstream,so to speak. If anyone spoke to him enough,he would open up to his passions. My Grandfather (has dementia currently) but i know that he loved ordering parts for his famed model train setup, and he always ordered a figurine that represented everyone he loved(mine was the little girl holding books, running down from the library),and my little brother was tossing a ball(his figurine always seemed to change, because he was always very athletic, and he wanted to be a professional at several sport that he endeavored towards. When i "grew up" i would always collect the plates when i was at my Grandma's house(it truly was her domain),to help her with dishes, but she was always "too proud" to share that work with company,so she would (maybe) appreciate me for the effort, but "shoo" me away if i tried to help in any way. Anyway, she's the reason that i actually know how to dress well(secretly!),and how to be graceful but mostly she was the person whom also, always, gave me $20 to shop for anything my little heart desired at "the thrift",and always covered the cost whenever i picked up a bit more books for my share, because little jen cared nothing more than just books, and any grandmother would approve of that ideal. Love that lady. When she passed,i was operating machinery while picking up overstock freight, and i stopped operation because at that time i just lost energy out of nowhere. I got a phone call later on from my mother who told me that Grandma Irene had passed. I saw it coming, but i knew "before i knew",and a few coworkers noticed that i "didnt seem right" by lunchtime, but i play off trauma like it's a reflex..the person who actually sat there with me,and guessed about my woe, thought i was upset that i might be pregnant! (I was honest with the "old man" of the team) Although, inner jen thought,"i'd make a great mother, but that shit is scary!" i was still trying to not cry too much, and so i relieved that incorrect thought from the (super horny overnight old dude;he would watch porn on his break cause he didn't care much about one or the next person about what he gets paid to do,on the surface)... respected "old guy on the freight team",of which, his job was essentially to collect the cardboard and trash from the overnight team, and what is funny is that i had asked this "Ancient Gentleman",what he did before this job,and he told me that he used to MANUFACTURE coallated cardboard;the circle of life is imminent. It made my day when he told me that, and it just was the funniest thing in the world, for him to be destroying his previous' work. Anyway,i do appreciate your videos,Miss Horror-Femme of the Crafty World. Please-pray you don't stop your craft. I went on an entire memory lane on this(among many that i didnt go and type out because typing with three lines of 2"-long texts is massively exhausting!) video,so....thank you again for inspiring me amongst many, you Lovely Lady!
That turned out incredibly beautiful. I'm in awe of how much talent you have and how meticulously and methodically you are able to execute your vision.
Christine is one of the most talented ladies I’ve ever seen! These shades are amazing! Everything she does is amazing! I have to rely on a professional to make a lamp shade for me! She has mastered so many different types of crafts! It just blows my mind! Bravo!
Every second was perfection. You are definitely a Jill of all trades and a master of all... I love how every detail is so considered. An absolute joy to watch. Thank you 👩🏻🏭👩🏻🎨👩🏻🍳👩🏻🔧👩🏻🌾👏🏻
Every time you upload a video I know it is going to be outstanding, however I never seem to recall just HOW mesmerized I was the last time watching your masterful skills! Each end every time I'm left in awe, inspired and kind of intimidated by your craftsmanship! And now I am going to organize my own crafting table :D Thank you kindly Christine, you are wonderful!
Your lampshades are Absolutely INcredible AND you made the same one TWICE!- which to me, is even more Astounding! Their fluid shape and the way you've finished them reminds me of the French artist Erte- simply WOW!
Please do some classes!!! I’d love to have a tenth of the knowledge you have. You have got me so motivated to so many projects I’ve put off because I thought they were too hard. Thank you for teaching me that I can do it, I just have to tell myself I can, and the technics I’ve gotten from you so far have be awesome! Thank you so much for all the hard work you do to bring us these wonderful videos!!
I can confirm, when sewing the needle is an absolute nightmare on the nails. The pain if you slip and the needle gets stuck under your fingernail is something else 😂
An amazing old house, super cool vintage clothes, cute animals all around, and getting to create all these victorian items by hand, yet your own designs. Lady, you're practically living my dream life.
The way you can work with such creativity and precision on so many different types of projects is insaaaaaane. Not even a perfectionist you're just perfection incarnate
This lamp shade I know would be a stunner! Always wanted to try one, but the pillows she did a bit back are one that I keep thinking I should try first. That Murders podcast my daughter would play on our short trips! This was over 5-6 yrs ago. Didn’t know they still were around. But let me tell you, they are so quite eerie and cannot help but keep listening!
thank you so much for sharing this. I love your videos! I really appreciated that you pointed out you wore the same outfit for continuity, not because you did it in one day!
Have you tried a leather thimble? They also make ones with metal pieces in them for pushing thru harder materials. And buy a size smaller because the leather stretches and molds to your finger after time. I love mine.
Christine you are an incredibly gifted human being. You never cease to amaze me. You are also stunningly beautiful, your hair, your make up, your clothes, just absolute perfection....
Your Empress energy off the charts! The lampshades are incredible, your patience and skill is inspiring - a true master at work. Thank you for uploading on YT today!

I watched your special on Netflix and was so sad it was only one season. I just stumbled across this video and thought I couldn’t be happier! Then, you went and recommended my favorite podcast. I’ve been been listening to MFM for years! Georgia would absolutely love you, your style and creations. I need a cross over of you ladies in my life!
I have always loved beautiful lamps and shades. Lighting can make or break the mood of a room. Experimenting with light is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your vision with us!
This came out the day before by birthday!!!🎂🥂🎊🎁🎉 it’s like I’ve been given a gift by one of my Idols! Thank you so much Christine!! There’s so much more I wish I could fit and say in one comment but one thing I will mention is about the thimble! I don’t like the feeling of metal thimbles at all, so over the years I started sewing my own out leather scraps. my first one was made out of a piece of leather welding hood after I made a purse with it. it’s made with of two rectangles with Half circles at the ends. When using mine for years I haveh noticed you have to design it to where you can replace the part where the needle comes in contact with the leather the most because they will punch holes through it, and they are few things weirder in sewing then when you’re trying to embroider on leather and your leather thymol gets a hole and the eye of your needle tries to stab your finger!! I adore you to shreds always Christine!!! thank you so much for this early birthday gift and I can’t wait to see an abundance more from you in the future! I love you!!✨✨✨

(I was honest with the "old man" of the team)
Although, inner jen thought,"i'd make a great mother, but that shit is scary!" i was still trying to not cry too much, and so i relieved that incorrect thought from the (super horny overnight old dude;he would watch porn on his break cause he didn't care much about one or the next person about what he gets paid to do,on the surface)... respected "old guy on the freight team",of which, his job was essentially to collect the cardboard and trash from the overnight team, and what is funny is that i had asked this "Ancient Gentleman",what he did before this job,and he told me that he used to MANUFACTURE coallated cardboard;the circle of life is imminent.
Bravo!
The amount of detail you put into every project you do absolutely amazes me and they always comes out perfect! You are a great artist 🎨
They looked small in the reveal scene…until she was holding them! 😮 Theyre massive and she did two!
It's always a pleasure receiving a new video Christine ❤
Yesssss, new content! 🫶🏽

Beyond elated to see a new vid! 💜💙💜💙💜💙💜
Amazing as always. Your previous lampshade video helped my mother restore a vintage lampshade! It came out wonderfully.
Comme toujours un travail incroyable. Magnifique. J’adore ce que tu fais Christine. Bravo et merci de partager avec nous. 🌺🌸🌺
I love the background music to these videos. It sounds like rearranging furniture, but with musicality.
I can confirm, when sewing the needle is an absolute nightmare on the nails. The pain if you slip and the needle gets stuck under your fingernail is something else 😂
A rare treat to see you on RUclips, but always a pleasure. :o)
Aaaah I always get so excited when I see a new video from you omg!! ❤❤
Archimedes looks so good😻
The lamps look AMAZING and i can hardly wait for the room reveal😊xx
thank you so much for sharing this. I love your videos! I really appreciated that you pointed out you wore the same outfit for continuity, not because you did it in one day!
Wonderful!! So enjoy seeing your 'stuff'
Christine, those lamps are above category! Extraordinary!!!
Stunning lampshade, i gasped upon seeing the finished project, wow!
Your creativity & artistic skills are a gift🖤
I agree with your assessment of glue vs needle and thread. I can’t believe you made TWO of these masterpieces!
Man, I feel like the laziest person in the world right now 😆 There really are no excuses to not materialize your visions, big and small, every day in any way you can! You are such an inspiration, Christine!
The shade makes it look puffed it’s amazing ❤
It’s like an illusion lamp shade
I also drop everything to watch her videos she is just spectacular and her talent is out of this world. God bless her.
A new Christine McConnell video on RUclips is such a TREAT! Thank you!!
Wow this is incredible! Absolutely stunning. You are so creative. ❤
This is simply one of the most glorious lamp shades I have ever seen. Gosh you're such a talented woman! Wowzers!!
I have always loved beautiful lamps and shades. Lighting can make or break the mood of a room. Experimenting with light is wonderful! Thank you for sharing your vision with us!
Soooo glad you posted a video!! ❤ everything looks amazing!
I love you!!✨✨✨
Omg yesssss!!! I Missed you! ❤🥹😍
