I improved my hair by following these: Having more and more vitaminC in form of lemon, orange, kiwi, 8 hours of adequate sleep daily, consume nuts such as almonds, walnuts, or peanuts in limited, you can also eat fish like salmon. Exercise at least 20 - 30 mins everyday. Using natural coconut plus onion based oil, neem wood comb, massager for scalp by Littleextra Cooconion two times a week. All this is good to control hair fall.

I have been oiling my scalp for growth and moisture for many years now, since I stopped using hair grease. After watching a previous video of yours in which you said that it is more beneficial to oil at night, I have been oiling my hair only at night for almost a year or so, and I must say that I have seen a significant growth in my hair. I use a hair oil that has a mixture of avocado, grapeseed, castor, olive, amla, fenugreek, rosemary, licorice root, sweet flag, hibiscus, rose petals, alkanet, among other ayurvedic herbs. Thank you for the wealth of information that you share with us in this community.

Because of the Twitter natural girlies who started the hair detox/no butters & no oils challenge, I stopped using oils and saw so much breakage in my hair. Now, after so many tears and exercising patience, I'm starting to regain some more health in my once damaged hair.

Nice video! Oil never hurt our scalp when growing up. Oils are in the hairdressers that our parents put on our scalp and hair, and it stayed moisturized until the next wash day, every 2 weeks. Exactly, you don’t need much. My mom let the hair air dry until damp, then greased the scalp & hair lightly and brushed through. And that would be the only product used on wash day. I’m looking forward to trying hairdressers again but, not for my “wash n go”. Peace and blessings! 🙏🏾❤️

I would be afraid to come up with a product. I use to use wen as a co-wash then lock in the moisture with oil. I never got more compliments than using that. Not everything works for everyone but people are sue happy and now I must pay twice the amount. You could make a product that works for the majority of people but then you still need to deal with lawsuits.

    • @TracyD2
      @TracyD2 Год назад

@@timeforchange3786 people usually copy one another as well. I can not find anything on what was the cause of their hair fall from Wen or the FDA. If anyone knows what the FDA found please let me know. Could it be a case of not thoroughly cleansing the scalp. It is a cowash after all. Which is not wens fault entirely. They should put warnings on cowashes saying scalp must be properly clarified. Now that it is known. I loved Wen but I always switch my products around. Same with Divacurl. The girl with the initial Divacurl video had a zillion me-too comments underneath. If I ever made a product I would put warnings like the surgeon general.

I use my Ayurvedic oil...fenugreek, alma, brahmi, bringraj, henna, aloe, moringa, tulsi, hibiscus n curry..gives me instant relief. After wash day 2nd/3rd day my scalp gets so dry and itchy. Still don’t get it..I’m like it’s clean it shouldn’t be itchy. Going to apply right after DC, thank you for the tip!!

Same here... Try good old grease. It worked growing up until influencers convinced us otherwise. Also some of the ayurvedic herbs cause more dryness over time so I now prefer to drink them as teas. Hibiscus is my favourite

Confused now as some say to wash your hair daily to wash off the sebum that sits on our curly hair because it'll clog the pores on our scalp. So when do we reap the benefits of oiling our scalp if we are to wash our hair daily. They even said they've seen faster growth doing that method. But I love oiling my scalp, say 3x a week, plus Asian cultures oil their scalp frequently and they're ok.

I've noticed that my hair may be in need of "end trimming" since my significant hair growth (no split end just tangling and loose strands at the ends). I do an overnight pre-poo with babassu oil to hair in moisture retaining and softness. As a person with "mixed" hair types...4b in the center, 3b at the back, and probably 4a/b every where else (LOL), I'm always anxious about trimming my ends. Is there a best method for trimming, i.e. blown out and trimmed, or just trimmed without blowing out (but dry)?

What about the oil that your scalp naturally produces? Wen I massage my scalp I can feel the oiliness.

Interesting. For me, I had much better luck after I quit using oil on my scalp. It would cause bumps especially on the back of my head. My hair is a lot healthier now. I just use leave in conditioner. Oil was very counter productive for my scalp. Maybe that’s just me though.

Very informative video. I have a question. I have a DIY mixture of oils that I use for my scalp with emphasis on my temples because they have thinning. I am not sure if it is the oil or something else but it seems like when I use oils on my temples my thinning looks worse after continuous use. Is it possible that oiling your scalp could have a negative effect on your hair, as in hair loss? I really only oil my scalp for hair growth, after washing my hair and making sure my scalp is cleansed I do not typically have an itchy or dry scalp.
Your advice/response is greatly appreciated. I came here because I am trying to determine if I should stop oiling my scalp to see if I see a difference with my temple thinning. For reference I am natural and I do not wear any wigs, weaves or anything that would cause tension on my edges/temples any longer.
Thank you! Sorry for the long comment.

Can you leave oil on your scalp after washing? What is the best carrier that won't clog pores on an itchy scalp. So far, nothing is really working.

I just need to know, I usually oil my scalp like 4 or 5 days after washing so that way my scalp has a chance to breathe, I use a fenugreek based oil, wouldn’t oiling a freshly washed scalp block the sebaceous glands within the scalp?

I have an oily scalp and manage seborrheic dermatitis. I've been told to avoid applying oil and oil-based products directly on the scalp because it feeds the Malassezia fungus that's more sensitive to those with SD.

I also have severe SD and a dry, tight scalp, but I've found the only way to control it is but applying oil directly on my scalp. What oil(s) do you use?

@@farrahc7055 I don't use oils in my hair routine. There'll be oils in my hair products already and that's enough for my hair. I personally never liked using oils and the oils negatively affecting my scalp wasn't helping lol

I was told this for so long and it really depends on the state of your scalp, you can still have dry scalp and active fungus at the same time. if your fungus is controlled you can oil if it's dry etc

Doesn’t moisture come from water? I don’t oil my scalp or hair. The conditioners and moisturizers that I use already contain oils. I also wash, condition and style my hair every 4-5days since my hair usually dries out by then. This works for me but some might need to use oils.
