I have an ‘02 f-250 7.3l. I need to replace the glow plugs. As I started investigating parts and process, I saw documentation that specified glow plugs are needed for trucks with an “F” in the 8th digit of the VIN. Is that correct?
Can anyone report on the van procedure, E350 7.3 L. How do you get the passenger side valve cover off without lowering the engine down? I know there are some people that have done this.
No. Not a no crank situation where the motor wont turn over. Now if the motor cranks and has a HARD TIME starting, then you could be looking at a glow plug issue.
2nd video watched from this channel and there isn't a link to valve cover removal for 7.3l mentioned in both videos. Hope you fix this because I've spent 30 minutes looking for the valve cover removal video. Just hoping for a tip or trick for getting to back bolt on passenger side valve cover. Thank you for your time
@@cadenprosise2609 because the other brands swell and stick in the head. Then you have a real problem. Put motorcraft back in and get another 225k trouble free
@@onlyskatesupra good to know, mines a 2002, I can't afford injectors at the moment, what else should I replace when doing the glow plugs? I know the harness. Ill have a diesel shop do the work for me
@@cadenprosise2609 thats about it. You can get a western plow relay for the GPR its about the best relay you can get. If i remember right they are about 35 bucks. Plugs, harnesses, and a new gpr that thing should fire up perfect in the winter
Show us how to take one of the 7.3 injectors apart lol! Thanks for showing us 7.3 guys some love👍
You're welcome. ;)

Hello one question? What can I do if a 7.3 heaters broke my shirt! but the rest does not come out, what can I do?
MOTORCRAFT glow plugs only. No grenading glowplugs that way.
Why does this guy suggest the other glow plugs..??

Really need to see a video for the E350 7.3
You're not kidding! Has anyone found valve cover removal for these E350 7.3 L vans? Because that's me and boy are things inaccessible
Can a glow plug cause a no crank situation?

Some how we have misplaced that video. We're gong back and digging through old footage now.
@@thoroughbreddiesel thank you. I figured out the only way possible is to remove the vacuum chamber mounted on the heater core casing.
Way late on this, but a swivel 13mm socket will allow you to remove all the bolts without removing the heater core cover
And it helps with removing the bolt in the very back.
motorcraft zd11 are the ONLY glow plugs you use in a 7.3. thank me later
How come? Just had a P0677 glow plug error light come on at 225k original glow plugs and injectors
