Where do you get the diamond tiles from that make squares in 3d?
I love that you show this warts and all. Without mistakes how would we learn! Excellent
when marking onto tiles for screw holes, if I don't have a chinagraph pencil, I usually put masking tape on the tiles and mark onto that.
I use a sharpie and pull the nib out so it’s long enough

by "under the spare bed" do you mean the bed you have been sleeping on until you finished this job ?
When you think it will leak. It never leaks. But when you think it's good, ... There's a saying, a watched kettle never boils, well, a watched copper pipe never leaks. They leak 10 mins after you've left.
You need to get yourself a Tracer Pencil and Marker set. Perfect for marking through holes.
Dust sheets in bath, vac when drilling holes, all grit walked into bath now, no pencil or tape in pocket, easy basics to make a good install great and also save some time 👍🏼
Old pipe = clean inside the new fitting twice as good and flux both sides. Yes you get a messy solder joint, but it will hold.
Just when you think you've done a spankin' good job with the pipework and everything's going to work nicely... Back to the suppliers 😅
I guess the problem is why using electrical controls when they are not required!
I know plumbers have too much pride to use yorkshire fittings but they really do help in tight spaces. No nedd to check if solder reached all the way round
Try Bosch muilt construction bits on tiles Thay are unbeaten nothing stops them and Thay out last arrow head bits
Best all round bit ever, piss through ceramic brick stone etc, porcelain you want diamond wax filled.

You should have siliconed the back of the shroud. Water will piss through there behind the tiles 😅

Why not use a system with remote control? It has to be simpler to install. Place the remote near the entrance to the shower and you won't get a shock of cold water down your arm each time you turn it on

hi ive got a question hope you can help me at the moment i have a shower pump in the airing cup fed direct from the hot water cylinder and cold from tank in loft so fairly balanced if i remove the pump and install a mire platinum where the pump use to be with the same feeds do you think this will be ok thanks oh and its a normal boiler

@@plumberparts Happens to us all at some point, I use those spray markers that leave a green dot, so much easier than a pen/pencil.

Do you want to sell the low pressure unit ? Is it one from Bathroom brands with a part number of 100133 ? I fitted a Crosswater digital shower around 6 years ago and the pump is on the way out.
He mentioned in an older video that this was filmed quite a while ago, he ran into this problem quite a bit time back, so he probably modified/sold the original unit long ago.
Nefer heard of a digital shower
it is basically an electrically controlled valves array for bathroom installations. i guess it's a matter of faith weather you want electrics close to your shower water or not.
Why is there directional arrows on the lever valves? Ok obviously you fit the valve with the arrow in the position of the flow of water but why?
It's to do with how the valve is assembled. The ball part of the valve is inserted into the side facing the incoming water supply.
Am glad when I had our showers fitted that I had wireless controllers and just ran the pipe in from the ceiling. Doesn't look as nice but a lot less maintenance / replacement in the future.
Next time I need to tell my wife that it's going to be all plastic panels both wall and ceiling 🤣
