I love watching these videos as I always get to learn something new if not by technique, by a new product.
I’m a tiler and I get through a fair bit of kit every month so when I seen this video I was interested in seeing what the X Pro sealant was like.
I used the link and ordered a few things. In particular I ordered one bottle of the sealant and one bottle of the glue sealant to test on the next job as I’m always on the look out for a better product to work with. Anything to make life a little easier 🤣
Order arrived pretty quick and I noticed one of the sealant bottles was missing a nozzle. I didn’t think anything of it but called Sealant Warehouse and was told to send a picture and email it through. After doing so and resending the same email twice over 5 days I was told they would refund 50p and I should go to nearest diy and get nozzle.
I’m not a picky person but I replied by saying would it not be easier to post rather than inconveniencing me as nearest fit outlet is over 45mins away? I have yet to receive a reply to that email.
Unfortunately for me, I won’t be using these guys again as customer service is crucial in any business. To not reply to a customers concern is shabby. What if that order was for £500+ and something was wrong?? I’d be emailing Sealant Warehouse forever. Hence why people just go to the trade superstores because problems can get resolved there and then.
Shame they could have had a loyal customer !!

    • @numberimaginary
      @numberimaginary День назад

Some guns have a plastic insert that means that you do not need to worry about the trigger, eg the Cox Easiflow guns. Used tubes? I spend a tenner on 100 nozzles from China. If you are not going to use the tubes for months, it will go hard all the way down the nozzle and into the cartridge. Sometimes putting a thin long screw in the end can help. If it has only gone hard in the nozzle by an inch, as you pull the screw out, it will pull out the cured silicone

The profilers are at better than a sponge, because they are hard compared to a sponge, you get a neat edge and consistently straight lines/edge.
You could do two tests, one with a sponge, the other with a profiler.
You will see a big difference in the looks.

The gun looks good for confined areas. However as a decorator that does a lot of silicone work, the notion that the silicone profiling tools remove all excess silicone is a myth. I can, with confidence, state that the excess silicone will leave a fine film over the tiles that will be obvious as time goes on. Don't believe me? sprinkle some red brick dust over it and you will see how much silicone was left behind.

@@dimitar4y When you silicone or use sealent, in most domestic settings you want to have a chamfer
This allows the water to puddle away and off the bead
The tops of the Bevel provide a very thin layer, the part that usually fails
I have been in this for 15 years now and being the old school person I am, took a while to convince me that nothing is better than a good finger
However, as time has gone on, I have perfected my ability at sealing and now usually shape the nozzle, if I am lucky my beads will require minimal profiling
It's too much of a gamble to use a finger to splodge in the sealent
Certain jobs and settings require different styles and sizes but in my experience, a good wooden profile tool wet first, no soap, usually gives you a beautiful bead that will last for years
I agree, not all silicone is equal
