I was trying to get to a cinch knot, but this is good too. 😆
I do 7 wraps with 8 lb test and loop the tag end back through the other loop. with that many wraps you gotta make sure you spit on the line and scrunch down with your thumbnail and then pull tight. Never comes loose though. If you cant find your clippers and wanna change lures you can undo the knot with your fingernails by pulling at the top wraps.
I've only ever used this knot. I'm afraid I really struggle tying knots lately as I've lost a lot of feeling and dexterity in my fingers and I need new glasses 😂. I usually cheat and turn the hook instead of wrapping the line around and around. It does the same thing and I just find it easier to do as I really struggle to feel fine line
Try switching to improved clinch. It’s basically the same knot but much stronger
@@tokiwartooth2661 thanks Mate. I'll give it a go. Always good learning new techniques
That's pretty smart. Nessaity is the mother of creation 😮
@@JACK-el7ok absolutely mate and thanks for the compliment 😊 yes over the years I've been used to working on my own as a carpenter so I've had to learn to find solutions.
I’ve lost so many hooks tying it that way on 4 and 6 lbs test monofilament.
Look up the Trilene knot, it's a modified (better) clinch that passes the line through the eye twice, wont slip and the line will break before you lose a hook. It's all I use for braid to swivel and I've hauled in 35 lb stripers with no issues.
@@user-or1rl2ml9m I use the Trilene knot, however, I take extra step of coming back through loop after I go through the eye. Trilene knot plus 1. I still loose hooks that way too especially if Berkeley Trilene line is not brand new. F@$& I lost several hooks this weekend.
It’s better with fluro, mono has to much stretch.
Must have tied ot wrong pr had drag set poorly
@@mightymoose4577 No way. I'm no rookie! But I think @revbigjohnsbackyardfishn31 is on to something because I use mono most of the time.
It doesn't matter which side you pass the tag through the bottom loop. Please confirm.
How do you maintain the bottom loop open wide using fine tippet? I'm always threading the tag through the loop like threading a needle. Thanks.
If you put the line in the last loop before you pull the main it works better on 15 and below monofilament and flourocarbon lines
Thank you

Wrong chief. You pulled the tag end. You are supposed to pull the main line!! Redo it and repost or delete
you can use water or a moist sponge , please do not spit on the line , their is plenty of water everywhere

This is wrong. You’ll lose a fish every time with whatever this knot is
