Excellent video! I've had severe pain for over 1 year. I wasn't able to lift my arm for more than 45 degrees. The first exercise was extremely painful for me; however, I felt no pain in my shoulder afterwards for a little while. I plan to do these stretches daily to finally get rid of this issue. THANK YOU!!

When I do the "T" and "Y" movements, I can feel the impingement/pain, but the "A" and "W" are ok. Should I avoid the T's and Y's for now and perhaps try to add them in a few weeks? Very appreciated!

Watched a lot of exercise videos for shoulder pain and could not wrap my head around why so many videos promote internal rotation exercises when the pain often starts with too much internal rotation movement, sounds counterintuitive. You are the first to address and explain this 👏 Thank you.
I had what was called tendonitis apparently all the MRI revealed. I had to do ten PT sessions for this, which only aggravated it. So the result was $300 wasted and only further aggravation and even more pain. I'd already had rotator cuff surgery to fix a tear 15 years ago but that was disregarded by insurance as a reason to have surgery again. I finally had surgery 7 weeks ago and now the pain I had before whenever I reached for something is gone. I'm still a bit sore and taking it slow but I expect full motion soon. The post surgery said he fixed the Impingement syndrome, Bursitis, a Partial Rotator Cuff tear and a Labral tear. NOW, I believe is when I should be doing therapy!
Oh I've been there before, Lisa! You definitely need to focus more on rotator cuff strengthening to stabilize your shoulder. Also a focus on form - lead with your chest and keep your elbows down lower. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for commenting!
@@ruzainpatel5993 😂 If im being honest i didn't try any of these exercises but I've been doing the chest wall stretch daily and that's helped me significantly along with applying voltarol emulgel. @02:45 that loosened something in my left shoulder that I use to sleep on and became impossible to train with because of sudden sharp pains. Now it feels as it is healing and been better and better a couple days now. Thank You!
Thank you very much for this video . I tried your exercise and in a weeks time my shoulder pain is much better . You Sir are a genius . Thank you and cheers from Australia. By the way I’m 72 years old .
Thanks doctor a lot! I was already thinking , have got some permanent problems with my shoulders , but did just a few times that exercise in a door way , now I've got a very little pain , I'm sure the pain will gone. Thanks again!
I’ve been doing your stretching and core strength exercises for a while with great results. I’ve had bad shoulder pain for a while which has been diagnosed as rotator cuff. Tried your exercises for the first time today and feels much better, however I have trouble with the AYTW exercises, the A is fine but the others I can hardly move my arm. I can actually hear noises from the joint! Hopefully if I continue it will become easier
Legit after the second exercise, heard a slight thud/crack and felt my pinky and ring finger feel some blood circulation returning. I had trouble lifting up my left shoulder and now I can rotate it without discomfort.. thank you so much
My shoulder got hurt during my jujitsu roll, and it's been like that for weeks. It felt better after a while, I went back to practice, and I hurt it again. So it's not poor posture. Thanks for sharing
Informational video. I've been experiencing joint pain in my left shoulder joint for a while when bench pressing or doing any kind of reverse fly. I have good form and retract my shoulders when benching so I truly believe its due to rotator cuff weakness. Definitely going to be doing some of these strengthening exercises prior to working out to strengthen my rotator cuff.
Thank youuuu!!!!!!! Omg I was juicing at work and my shoulder started to burn in pain and I couldn’t move my arm up without pain and I did the first exercise and bam instant relief !! ❤
I love these exercises.. I’ve tried so many different ways to help my stiffness in my rotator cuff .. nothing helped as well as these .. love these ❤so helpful.. thank you thank you 👍
Hi Jared! I’m so glad I found you and this video. I’ve been suffering with a left shoulder impingement for what seems like a couple months now. I finally went into the Dr and yes!! That is what I have.. I workout, play soccer and have a pretty demanding job so this impingement has really sidelined me. I have days that I honestly can’t get my arm to touch the top of my head or tie my shoes. I’ve started to try these exercises and my question to you and the other followers is, what level of pain should I expect with exercises? How do I know if it’s safe? I’ll work through the worst pain ever if I thought it was going to help. Thanks again!! Love the videos and will be recommending them to my fellow soccer friends.
I owe you a big Thank You. I was and probably still am in a tight spot - I'm pretty sure I have full-on tendonitis in my shoulder that effects not just my shoulder but, my bicep and even more painful, my wrist - Very specific areas but all related. (pinched nerves I assume) Because I was likely on the verge of a torn cuff I also assume I have a long way to go but, with a little careful and extremely painful expenditure on these stretches, I've gained an incredible amount of improvement and relief. The stretches usually decimate me for a few days and then I get some stunning improvement. I seriously thought my guitar playing days were over - This effected my dominant picking and strumming hand/arm.
Thank you , I’m looking for a miracle I’m a CNA and my shoulder muscles be screaming after assisting and lifting patients all day had to find a more permanent and better way to help me then otc nsaids . Wish me luck 🙌🏻
Hi Doc, I've been having shoulder pain in my left shoulder for a little while and have been doing the exercises you and others have suggested with some results. However, lifting my arm straight up over my head would still bring on some pain that causes me to wince. Now check this out, I've decided to grab the top of a door with my left hand and allow the weight of my body to drop toward the floor to stretch the shoulder. To my surprise, it gave me instant albeit temporary relief. I repeated this exercise a couple more times within the space of 5 minutes and now I can lift my arm straight up over my head with very little pain but my lateral movement became just a little strain but not much. So now I am wondering if I should continue to do such an exercise or am I risking injuring myself further? It's a bit confusing for me because I have not heard/read anyone on RUclips say anything about doing or not doing such a thing and yet I have not had such relief since I have been doing these exercises for over a month now (2-17-2023). I would appreciate your insight or comments. Thank you!
The exercise you been doing is kinda similar to dead hangs. this exercise actually helps with shoulder pain and mobility. I have also been experiencing shoulder pain and stiffness on my right side from an injury.
@@minthurathein9036 Thank you. I still have slight pain but NOTHING like it was 3 months ago! Using the resistance bands are helping me to get back to normal, thank God in the name of Jesus!.
@@toneandtighten I've been doing those door stretches for a week now but I don't feel like they really target whats hurting. Maybe my shoulder pain isn't from rotator cuff? Or should I just keep doing them regardless?
How often are you supposed to do it in a day and do you do it after or before the strengthning exercises? Also should strengthening exercises be done everyday?
I have a slight labral tear in my right shoulder and when it hapened the pain was the worst things i've eer experience.... after a week with pain a doctor finaly gave me a cortisone shot. I mean, after watching it once, you should be on your own after that. Listen to some music, it seems to help holding longer stretches easier when you're jamming out.
Hi Jared!! Thanks for the great videos. Please tell me if I should push through slight impingement pain while doing the stretches and exercises. Or am I making it worse by pushing through the pain? I look forward to your response!

"Hello Doctor, I've been experiencing a peculiar shoulder pain recently. Whenever I throw a ball with my right hand, I experience sudden and impactful pain in the shoulder. Despite undergoing 12 sessions of physiotherapy, the exact reason for the pain remains unidentified. Interestingly, I don't experience any pain when I rotate or lift my arm. However, when I throw horizontally at shoulder level, I experience intense pain for about 10-30 seconds before it subsides. I have been doing these exercises for 3 weeks, no improvement. I would greatly appreciate your assistance.
Really great exersice. How often should you do them? Have lots of rt pain shoulder, could not lift it as much when rotairing it .. did them on them bed edge and i felt the immediate releave
Thank you for this video! Especially the way we can do some exercises like on the bed or couch makes it way easier to do then when having to go to the gym every time.
Wonderful video! I do have a question, though. I'm working out, and I "Do my best, and forget the rest". IYKYK. When I do shoulder exercises, I am using lighter weights, as I still want to workout my entire body....but should I? More specifically, do you recommend I go through these exercises for a few weeks before resuming shoulder workouts? Or if I'm feeling okay, and getting enough rest, is it okay to do the impingement exercises, and continue working out the affected muscle - which is my right shoulder.
Great video. I can do all excersises except lying down Ws as my shoulder start to hurt. Should I avoid it completely or do it up to a height where is still comfortable?
How often should these exercises with the bands be done? Everyday? Or just so many times per week? Thank You in advance, and for these fantastic videos!
I'v had pain for over a year now, very few of these exercises am I able to do except to do them at a lesser extent. If it hurts should I NOT do it at all or can I cautiously do them & gradually increase as, HOPEFULLY, the muscles get stronger ? Thank you.
I had strokes at birth and always had pain in the front of my shoulder like that. I never really cared but after I started working out I wanna get rid of the pain
I got neck fractures form 2011 accident , 2014 I began to experience left hand side shoulder pain. I have been with physiotherapist getting better but comes again.
I tried many things, physiotherapy, stretchbands, you name it... What eventually helped me was a 3 day water fast. Im shocked almost, plus my Achilles tendonitis is also gone after a year of being on the sidelines (im an avid runner)
Can impingement happen when doing back work out with a wrong posture? I can not even bench press without feeling a tremendous amount of pain in my shoulder. This exercise im the video helped me a lot tho. Thank you so much.
How often are you supposed to do stretching exercises in a day and should you do them before or after the strengthening exercises? Also should strengthening exercises be done everyday?
You probably arent going to see this but i strained my shoulder wrestling about 8 months ago and i had a few setbacks but the last couple of months i stopped PT and kept doing my resistance band excercises and for the most part i can do excersizes on light-medium weight but even doing knee pushups after like 8 i start feeling a pain and i randomly get small stints of pain doing things like picking up soda boxes. This is probably too vague, but any insight would be helpful, thanks.

Oh I've been there before, Lisa! You definitely need to focus more on rotator cuff strengthening to stabilize your shoulder. Also a focus on form - lead with your chest and keep your elbows down lower. Hope you feel better soon and thanks for commenting!
Did it help???
@@manhaj-as-salafiyyah898 you need to be on the right manhaj(form) for exercises too haha. If you've been doing this, did it work for you akhi?
@@ruzainpatel5993 😂 If im being honest i didn't try any of these exercises but I've been doing the chest wall stretch daily and that's helped me significantly along with applying voltarol emulgel. Thanks! I had impingement on my left shoulder from doing pike pushups a week ago. And the stretches and exercises you showcased here did the trick! Thank you so much! Subscribed. 🤘
Fantastic! Happy to help!
I have been suffering pain from last 70 days. After watching this video I've tried few of stretches for only three days. And the pain is fucking gone.
Thanks to this man.❤️❤️
Wonderful news! You are welcome!
Really ? Even I am suffering from past 2 months 😢
Happy to help!
I was only shown the last part by a PT. The stretches are new, and as always, feel great. Thanks Jared.
Thanks doctor a lot! I was already thinking , have got some permanent problems with my shoulders , but did just a few times that exercise in a door way , now I've got a very little pain , I'm sure the pain will gone. Thanks again!
Best of luck!
Thank you for the exercises. I am pain free and can swim. You really helped me !
Thanks again

You're very welcome!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Think I injured my shoulder sleeping, so painful. I will be doing this ❤
Thank you for taking the time on making this video!
Glad it was helpful!
Bro it helps a lot, I’ve rejuvenate slightly after trying these exercise once yesterday. Thanks!
Thank youuuu!!!!!!! Omg I was juicing at work and my shoulder started to burn in pain and I couldn’t move my arm up without pain and I did the first exercise and bam instant relief !! ❤
You're so welcome! So glad you are feeling better!
I just started feeling this pain 3 weeks ago thought it would fade and go away, however now it’s impairing my daily day to day life movements.
Me too, are you still in pain now? I can barely use my arm.😢
@@SirFixAlot72 ; I’m actually not anymore it went away! Back to 100%

Wish someone would’ve answered this question.

You are so welcome!
I chose all standing exercises which is easy for me. I'm going to do this eveyday because I'm suffering a lot. Thank you.🙏
You are welcome! I hope it helps.
Thank you , I’m looking for a miracle I’m a CNA and my shoulder muscles be screaming after assisting and lifting patients all day had to find a more permanent and better way to help me then otc nsaids . Wish me luck 🙌🏻
Best of luck! I hope this helps.
Hi Doc,
I've been having shoulder pain in my left shoulder for a little while and have been doing the exercises you and others have suggested with some results.

@@toneandtighten I've been doing those door stretches for a week now but I don't feel like they really target whats hurting. Maybe my shoulder pain isn't from rotator cuff? Or should I just keep doing them regardless?
I agree, the door stretching works for me.
Feels so good, right, salmenrob3! One of my favorites. I hope these continue to help you, and thanks for commenting!
Def. helped, but my shoulder is wear because ive been ttally afraid of using it due to the pain coming back, but i need to start moving it and strengtening it again. thanks for this.
I think your videos are so awesome and helpful, thank you! Could I offer a suggestion? It would be great if you did the entire “workout” so we could follow along instead of constantly having to pause the video. 😊
Great suggestion!
I mean, after watching it once, you should be on your own after that. Listen to some music, it seems to help holding longer stretches easier when you're jamming out.
Thanks the internal and external rotation helps with my shoulder pain
Hi Jared!! Thanks for the great videos. Please tell me if I should push through slight impingement pain while doing the stretches and exercises. Or am I making it worse by pushing through the pain? I look forward to your response!
I need to know this answer too.

Shoulder injuries are such a pain in the ass. Unable to do so many gym exercises, shoulders getting thin and scrawny. And it takes so long to heal.
Right bro, how are you feeling now though?
What do you do for upper body then?share please,i'm going through the same

Really thankful I found your channel. Been suffering for a bit but now I feel like I have some tangible direction to get rid of the shoulder pain instead of fantasying of getting rid of my shoulder altogether...lol. I def think bad posture, old injuries and some regretful pulling of weeds in the garden, exacerbated my shoulder this time. Arggg. Thanks so much Take Easy T

"Hello Doctor,
I've been experiencing a peculiar shoulder pain recently.
Thanks, this information was really helpful for my shoulder pain.
You're welcome!
I fell on my shoulder in 1991, never been the same since. I'll give this a go as I've had 30+ years of pain 😞

Thank you for this video! Especially the way we can do some exercises like on the bed or couch makes it way easier to do then when having to go to the gym every time.
You're so welcome!
I wonder the same, for ALL excercises.
I'v had pain for over a year now, very few of these exercises am I able to do except to do them at a lesser extent. If it hurts should I NOT do it at all or can I cautiously do them & gradually increase as, HOPEFULLY, the muscles get stronger ? Thank you.
Great explanation of the anatomy and it’s function on the intro!
Thank you!
Hope this make my shoulder pain fixed: be back in 3months
How is it going?
I had strokes at birth and always had pain in the front of my shoulder like that. I never really cared but after I started working out I wanna get rid of the pain
the door stretch is gold, thanks
Glad you like it!
Does this also help with clicking shoulder? The clicking does not hurt, just annoying.
How often are you supposed to do stretching exercises in a day and should you do them before or after the strengthening exercises? Also should strengthening exercises be done everyday?
No answers to any relevant questions...
What should I do if the T raises are the cause of the shoulder pain? How can I fix it?
First stretch caused pain to travel down upper arm (only had this pain since 2 days ago at times)
I hear weird noices while doing the excercises :)
That's your body saying good morning
How long should I wait to start doing my pressing exercises again once I start this stretching routine?
You probably arent going to see this but i strained my shoulder wrestling about 8 months ago and i had a few setbacks but the last couple of months i stopped PT and kept doing my resistance band excercises and for the most part i can do excersizes on light-medium weight but even doing knee pushups after like 8 i start feeling a pain and i randomly get small stints of pain doing things like picking up soda boxes. This is probably too vague, but any insight would be helpful, thanks.
