    These are one of my favorite drills to work on hip mobility prior to lower body workouts. It really helps to teach the body how to control hip rotation in a single limb position.
    If you have a tough time opening the hip - think hip external rotation and abduction - this drill will help to activate the glutes and relax the groin musculature that may be tight.
    Like I mention in the video, I’d suggest holding onto something solid to try and minimize the need for balancing if your goal is to improve mobility.
    However hip airplanes are an incredible difficult balance and stability drill if performed without any assistance.
