Bernie definition of socialism is very basic . for examle , why do you accept that Medicare for people over 65 is Capitalism , but Medicare For All is Socialism ?
Imagine how much of a lift capitalism would get if everyone was healthy, educated, not drowning in stress and had a little money to spend. There's not going to be much of a middle class left in 20 more automated years.
If the country swings far enough left to grant the social norms enjoyed by pretty much every other developed nation, there will be no going back, that's what terrifies the Republicans in office.
True, and we will accelerate into becoming a garbage pit right after that. Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good. People are addicted to free shit.
@@imzjustplayin I disagree to an extent, it matter what the free shit is. Yang's UBI proposal I am down with. It goes to everyone. What I'm not down with is paying off college graduate's debt when they are the people who are suppose to be making the most money of the population. What I'm not down with is writing universities and doctors blank checks when they abuse the system already. I noticed Bernie sounds a lot like Trump. Promising better healthcare for more people at a lower price. When he co-wrote the ACA, the shittiest version of a healthcare bill we could have come up with. The Opioid crisis thanks them. At best, she's a pro choice republican. She's full of shit and Trump will beat her over the head the same way he did Hillary. Then you mention superdelegates when the main problem with our government is super fucking delegates. The reason "ol Bern" got fucked over was because of the fucking DNC. Read the fucking emails. Do you not understand how Trump was able to laugh in the face of Russiagate for 3 years? Maybe he's the dumbest fucker on the planet or he knew he wasn't fucking guilty. Yeah, you won't hear Bernie or Tulsi's ideas on CNN or how they are the only non corrupt candidates on the debate stage not bought and paid for because the DNC, CIA, and MIC would rather have Trump win than what they call a "socialist" who threatens their money train. Trump actually won by appealing to working people and attacking Hillary from the fucking left with Bernie's talking points. And what in the fuck does a poll, legit or bullshit have to do with voting your conscience and who you think has the best policies? It's literally a herd mentality. Just goes to show how successful the elites are at keeping us stupid and arguing. By using CNN and every other news outlet to divide us.
@@diapersFTMFW11 @Autumn Quinn Also cute you calling someone ignorant when you clearly expended 0 effort in checking your facts (and so obviously cherrypicked your... can't call them facts... falsehoods? to make your point). First off, with black voters... Bernie always polls 2nd among black voters (above Kamala Harris, mind you). More recent polls show Warren picking up a lot of support among black voters. The only top tier candidate that doesn't do well among black voters is Pete Buttigieg. Also cute that you mention superdelegates (which the DNC eliminated after 2016, thus making it irrelevant to begin with, but here we go....). The superdelegates typically backed the leading candidate (which was Hillary), but not by much (the final result was 2271 to 1820, not counting superdelegates). We don't know how many superdelegates Bernie would have won if he was on top, but likely the majority of them. I think Democrats would face some major backlash if they were directly perceived to have gone against what the voters wanted. Which is also why superdelegates were eliminated (which again, makes them completely irrelevant). That said, I don't think Bernie is going to win. I also don't think Biden is going to win either. Unlike Hillary, Biden has EVEN LESS enthusiasm (not a minority/woman, gaffes like a motherfucker). The "first female President" factor that likely had a hand in giving Hillary a win, isn't going to benefit Biden over Warren obviously. Hillary was also far more articulate, whereas Biden is incredibly gaffe prone, to say the least. To dismiss Warren this early (especially when she's still picking up a lot of support), would be silly. Especially since she's amassing substantially large crowds (more than Trump in some cases, like Bernie's crowds in 2016, which were almost always larger). I'd maybe prefer Bernie over Warren (honestly, kind of on the fence), but Warren can easily win over more pragmatic moderate Democrats.

@@diapersFTMFW11
@Autumn Quinn
Also cute you calling someone ignorant when you clearly expended 0 effort in checking your facts (and so obviously cherrypicked your... can't call them facts... falsehoods? to make your point).

@@davidbach7003 I'm a RUclips fan, I watch all kinds of news, they all pretty much suck. I enjoy Steven Crowder's humor, and I also force myself to watch The Young Turks lol
The "squad" as a whole are difficult to gauge as they are all of the left, but not all of them are progressive. Ilhan Omar, is someone who I wouldn't call particularly progressive as she's a classic example of horseshoe theory in effect (where the fringe elements of both the wings end up causing the same thing even if it wasnt the intention (the too pure to vote for HRC in swing states left, Chapo traphouse, glenn greenwald ended up helping drumpf. )
This is where my doubts over Bernie emerge- he is, by policy positions, mainstream. By branding himself a socialist (he is centre left at a stretch, no way near the loony left), he is keeping the Overton window shifted rightward.
AOC and to a point, Rashida Tlaib fall into that category. They are Social Democrats, not Socialists.
Ayanna Pressley is both the most progressive and mainstream out of those 4 as she is very similar to Maxine Waters.
They might be popular and in the news a lot, but they are 4, inexperienced, first-term reps. Nancy Pelosi knows what she's doing.
I love this man, he IS awesome.
Cuomo: "It's not left, it's not right, it's forward" I may be mixing people up.
He isn't in the mob anymore
He joined a gang 😉
I think Andrew Yang used that line during the fourth debate.
Thank goodness for independent media because we will never know the entire truth from corporate media. But I give huge credit to Chris Cuomo for having a progressives on his show.
Put the crack pipe down and clean yourself up. Cuomo is a left-wing hack. He's part of the 24/7 anti-Trump coverage at his network. Trump certainly deserves a lot of criticism but Cuomo and the rest of his colleagues do not provide balanced criticism of the Democrats and the extremes like AOC and her pals.
epm5433 You are a right wing hack. I’m a progressive, that’s not going to change. I guess you have a problem with freedom of speech. Do you accuse everyone who doesn’t agree with you of smoking crack? If he’s, congrats on being an asshole.
Bill Maher is acting like such a typical democrat, he's actively rooting to lose.
Well, Trump has led to the richest people paying the least, where as Bernie wants rich people to pay their fair share. On top of 3 years of low taxes, Trump is an endless supply of material and angst viewing for his program; Of course they spin everything against the guy who wants them to be slightly less obscenely wealthy. Maher would gladly welcome 4 more years of paying less per dollar in taxes then the working poor.
To atlantiswolf. Matter of opinion. As a Democrat myself, I think he's acting mostly like Bill Maher. Yes I agree with a lot of his self owned opinions, but as a REAL Democrat myself, not necessarily a "liberal", I can understand his point of view even when I think he's making statements that are, shall we say uninformed? Or even flat-out wrong.
So atlantiswolf, I can only assume you are anti-Democrat, since you missed the point altogether. I have voted, at the national and state levels, for Republicans and Independents, and in a couple cases have regretted the results. Were I a registered Republican, I believe my ideology would make it harder to cross those lines.
No offense. Just saying. And yes, Trump has always been an ass-hole.
@@steventatlock5443 I thought trump was an ass-hole 30 years ago. IMO every single intelligent citizen who voted for him are suckers. All the others (not so intelligent) are just ass-holes.
To compare trump's and Bernie's views about tax-rates, wealth etc. is a fool's game, based on my 'years of experience' simply a continuation of the ageless Republican vs Democrat argument. First of all, anything President Ass-hat says, does, or thinks is automatically bullshit. Secondly, this mental midget doesn't know anything about the tax he signed. That was all done by the GOP in Congress in the two years, and that was ALL they cared about doing. As for Bernie....I liked him back when he was a TRUE Independent and sounded reasonable.
This is Truth: As a middle/upper-middle class working citizen, who for years ran his own consulting business, pre-paid quarterly income taxes, had to pay for my own medical insurance, created jobs for others, had a couple really good staff jobs, bought a house, done my best to fuel the economy (i.e. buying shit), and finally, always and proudly paid my fair share of taxes. Whatever. Bernie is, sorry to say, out of his mind! So is Warren. Under their "plans" - which would never come to being IMO - my taxes would go up hugely. They both say NO WORRIES, you will spend so much less on all these other things you'll come out ahead. AND free college, free healthcare, free childcare, no student debt....
Look. I'm a liberal-minded registered Democrat who has crossed party lines a couple times. Forget about the spin "they" make. There are many many people in the US alone who, unlike president ass-hat, are truly obscenely wealthy. Look at your own life, diversify your influences, listen for corroborated facts, pursue your immediate (not future) goals and needs, THEN pursue your future goals. And ignore all that "follow your bliss" bullshit. Just do what you want to do.
I apologize for my wind-bag post, but had to get it out. Don't take it personally. But not bad, eh? Also all true.
@@boblozaintherealworld3577 I'm not Anti-Democrat, I just don't like losing. I seem to recall us running a Moderate Democrat in 2016, and that not working out for us very well. The problem with "Real Democrats" is that their default position is to surrender and lose. It's why Nancy Pelosi had to wait till Trump committed something like his fifth crime to actually begin Impeachment Investigations and why we still aren't at proper impeachment hearings, and why there's not consequences for Trumps people if they choose to defy subpoenas, which they have.
No offense, I'm just saying that if your Real Democrats don't grow a backbone or find one on loan, maybe they deserve to be primaried by Liberals who actually give a damn and will fight for what actually matters. Because Democrats have been Derelict in Duty for far too long.
@@atlantiswolf Is "what matters" making ridiculous policies that could never in a million years work in practice? Or policies that more people oppose than want but they'd force us to pay for anyway? Or policies that will take the surging, record economy and tank it to the floor?
