I could tell you what trump did to create the inflation hike. He refused to domestically prepare the US for Covid-19 (we had at least a month of warning before it hit), right up in till it was tanking the stock market. This gross inaction led to a lot of lockdowns that greatly hurt our nation’s logistics. When the lockdowns ended in 2021 the still hurt logistics could not keep up with the consumer demand which led to price hikes across the board (this would have happened if trump was still president as well).

Yeah prices are high Bill, but the CPI is low and getting lower, so that means it's corporations that are inflating prices for food and essential goods because that's what they can get away with in a deregulated economy.
You are confusing CPI and price levels. The CPI is the rate of change. The CPI is lowering (ie the rate of change is decreasing) but that doesn't fix the price levels that are there. Moreover, do you think corporations just got greedy? There goal has always been to maximize profit. Competition is what keeps prices low and quality increasing

That's the thing. With every presidency, we can talk about how various numbers are up or down during their presidency, but unless you can connect the number to direct things the president has done, you really can't say there's any relation. And to Jon Stewart's point, when it comes to economic numbers, the numbers mean nothing if not compared to the world economy. If the whole world is doing badly, the problem probably isn't the president. In this particular case, every one of those numbers can be tied to events happening around the world that are outside of Biden's control. AND you can pinpoint many actions Biden has taken to fix those things that have been blocked either by the Republican majority in congress, Joe Mansion & Kristen Cinema previously, the Conservative Supreme Court. Not to mention, Biden has been successful in many other actions that do have us doing better on many statistics compared to the rest of the world. When judging a presidents ability to do the job, those details matter. You can say I'm bad at MY job because your life has been worse since I started my job... It's meaningless if you can't explain what I did to make your life worse.

And to Jon Stewart's point, when it comes to economic numbers, the numbers mean nothing if not compared to the world economy. If the whole world is doing badly, the problem probably isn't the president. but he also understands very well that if someone is very controversial, you just give them the slightest nudge and then sit back, they'll walk themselves into their own contradictions or to a stance that is very easy to poke holes through
LOVE these 2 together!!! great memories….
Really surprised O'Reilly was invited on knowing the reason he had to go off-screen.
No doubt.
For sure. But given the topic of media personalities who stoke rage in their audience who's more qualified to speak on that issue really?
The corporations are to blame for the prices. Not the president. They control the prices
Exactly correct!
You wouldn't feel the same way, if it was under a Republican president.
Fin Bill...duuuuh I dunno how Biden raised the prices but I'm gonna blame him with no proof because I'm a typical angry, hateful repugnantan that likes to spread misinformation.
So they will control it as it goes way down when Trump wins.
Not exactly or entirely. The market determines them first and foremost. BUT that is what happened post-pandemic WORLDWIDE, market forces pushed up prices when the economy heated up again. The market worshipping conservatives don't want to talk about that.
Bill’s arrogance is eye watering. How is he still a thing at all? Legit question. Only entitled men like him can just ignore what a danger trump is to women and minorities.
Well said
Or the accusations against him and hostile environment he stewarded
How is he a danger to minorities or women ? Serious question.
Same reason Trump is the nominee of a major political party 😊
@@ArnB-hk4hnserious answer. He took away a fundamental right to choose their own healthcare.
I love when these two guys come together. Pure gold
Credit to both of them. Most hosts won't have someone from the opposite side of the spectrum on their show. Most people who have ideological shows won't visit shows from the opposite side of the spectrum.
Or when they do, the host won't let them talk. John is doing an admirable job letting him talk.
yes
I bet John would love to have people from the right all the time, but they're too afraid to go on his show.
Inflation is caused by monopolies, corporations raising prices, not the government.
It certainly can be influenced by the government, but not nearly to the extent we've seen.
I get what you're saying but they still have some hand in that happening
Lol you might want to take a basic economics course.
@@gradyshmalady8284price and competiton are a thing. Toilet paper is not a monopoly but the CPI has risen for it. Therefore its not greed. Hes just a liberal devoid of reasoning and economic reason. His brain is misfiring and defective
And, who supports those "monopolies and corporations more than D.T.??? Given all the reasons/excuses Covid provided, Trump would be out there establishing more and increasing existing tariffs making it even worse. The increased cost of "Insurance" is largely caused/aided by one side who refuses to even consider that "climate change" even exists much less has any bearing/responsibility for the fires, floods, hurricanes that currently occur every year instead of what used to be decades apart. Don't even begin to think that food prices are not affected by weather !!!
One thing O'Reilly said is you speak to the 70% in the middle, but you can't talk to the ones on the fringes. The problem is only 10% of voters show up for the primaries, and that 10% are on the fringes, so they have to pander to the fringes. We need ranked choice voting.
This may have a bearing on primary votes. Pennsylvania is one of 10 states with a closed primary system. That means only voters who are registered to a major party may participate in its primary election. I’m hoping my state changes this outdated law.
RCV is key
Ranked choice voting is an excellent option.
@@jnellie1970 Australia has it.
@@NAjustlikeatrumptrolland it's great, allowing you to safely vote for third parties. Unfortunately Australia is more interested in American politics and no one pays attention (meaning our right wing party wins most of the time). It would be wonderful for America.
I always love listening to these two go back and forth. You can see the mutual respect. This is what America needs right now.
Bill sexually harassed coworkers.
I can't believe Jon Stewart is letting Bill O'Reilly "both sides" this.
literally
For us to fume
I think he let O'Reilly get away with some of his verbiage to let him show his colors. A lot of viewers probably don't remember BO, but now they see what an pompous, inaccurate, hypocrite he is.
@@erinmac4750this
It was honestly kinda gross seeing them play nice like that.
“Fossilized practitioners of the rhetorical arts”… love it.
I’m not fringe. I have two degrees. I watched Bill for a couple years during the gulf war. Then i realized Fox News lied. I voted for Clinton and he won. Vote Blue!
Cool story bro. Were you the deciding vote for Clinton? Did u vote after. I'm invested now
Fox News wasn’t around during gulf war. It started in 1996. You lie
So you ditched FOX and now watch CNN and MSLSD, who repeatedly lied about Russia collusion, Hunter’s laptop, and Biden’s obvious brain rot. Great.
This was great. I really wanna see that podcast now.
I'm all for not living in an echo chamber, but O'Reilly should not be given any sort of platform.
I'm all for Jon letting him on, but I'm 3 minutes in and he's just letting him prattle on without checking his commentary/hypocrisy
@davidlane1248 later on in the interview Jon pushes back and challenges him.
It's a 12 minute segment on what used to be a majority comedy show. This audience has changed so much over the years, and you take the show far too seriously
Don't lie about being weary of an echo-chamber. If O'Reilly shouldn't have a platform for his views, no conservative can.
He's got awful views, but they're relatively moderate as far as the average american conservative is concerned.
Like he didn't even say anything blatantly abhorrent here, he just did generic both sidesing a lot of people do.

Nah, it's Stryker and Professor X
This is disrespectful to Magneto.
They were stranded together in Kenosha where they lost their mutancy and x could walk? They also have history. I think he's a part of Magneto's origin
Magneto had a much more understandable cause and purpose than Bill.
Bill: "There's a problem... it must be Biden's fault, but I don't know how"
Magneto: "Mutants should control the world because they are superior."
Jon is very quick on his feet. The question he asked Bill in the end completely threw him off and Bill had come "prepared". Guess not prepared enough.
"When did you get that job?" made me laugh my coffee onto my lap
Had an 'earful' of Trump yet??
