- Here I give you a quick demo on how I use the BOSS RC-500 loop station to switch between the two tracks for a verse and chorus section, instead of running them in parallel.

Hello and congratulations for your channel, I always follow you.. I wanted to ask you for some info: I have the RC500 and I would like to know if it is possible to start the song by creating a drum kit with the guitar "but not letting the public hear it and therefore not letting it go out from the speakers" but simply record it in the RC and then use it for example in the middle of the song, maybe there is a function? Thank you!
Cool video and great loop! A couple questions: how are you inputting the keys and guitar? Where is your output going to?

He could assign the mic to only come out on 1 track solves that problem

Worth knowing that there is absolutely no need to change TRACK CHAIN from parallel to series. This is a function that only works in MULTI mode whereby when you record track 1 it is also recorded on to track 2. Wish the manual explained this as it creates a lot of confusion. 👍

Hey, is it possible to mix the recording on track 1 and 2 with two individual preset beats, let's say Conga 1 on track 1 and then Rock on track 2?
Hi Dawson! I'm having trouble figuring out how to set up my RC-500 with a keyboard like you have there. Does your keyboard have an AUDIO out or are you sending MIDI from your keyboard to the RC-500? Or are you sending MIDI from your keyboard to a DAW through an audio interface then audio out from DAW to RC-500? Having trouble finding a video that explains how to connect RC-500 to loop keys!

Can I record 4 bars to track 1 but then 16 bars to track 2? The RC30 won’t do this in overdub mode.

Bit of an open ended question, please can you make a quick video for the best settings if you wanted to cover ed sheerans loop songs as he usually stops all tracks and then plays all again or he drops one track out while keeping the other playing with these fast pause and drop back in moments

is possible to keep both track in series, independent and yet synced to the rhythm? I have a zoom although it's a single track loop with overdub and plays rhythm independently, it somehow manage to keep the measure of the loops.
How you decide if you use Mic or Line? Or does the Mic always record everything?
Boss interface and manuals for the 200 series are completely useless; sounds like the 500 has similarly poor support. Did you change the parameters for this memory just for that slot or it is for all memory slots? Can unique setup settings be saved Per Preset?
Can you change the rythym between the two tracks?

Hey Dawson , what in the heck am I doing wrong with my rc-500.. when I record and play on track 1 and then switch to track 2 if the timing isn't perfect to the millisecond when I hit the button instead of turning green and playing it stays red and keeps recording for like 5 seconds longer than the first track .. last night I was playing and track 1 was fine .. I went to switch to track 2 and lay down a lead section for the same lenght of track 1 and it either turned green and cut the last note off on track 2 or if I tried to let it go 1 beat longer so it didn't cut the last note out then it just stayed red and kept recording for another 5 seconds before turning green automatically .. if both tracks need to be the same lenght and I'm playing along with track 1 while recording on track 2 why does it keep doing this ? I have to be doing something wrong ..

Hi! I am very very new to looping technology and bought this hoping to add vocal harmonies to my solo gigs to begin with! But! I plug the system into my amp, and I plug my mic into the system, but do NOT hear anything. What am I missing?
Welcome to looping Suzie! The RC500 with definitely add something extra to your performances. It’s hard to know what the problem might be, make sure the mic volume is turned up ok the unit, and that you have the gain up on your amp.. good luck!
Would you recommend a 505 over this for vocal, keyboard and guitar with room to grow?
Hey, yeh for sure the 505 would give you a lot more room to grow, and the new mk II has multiple inputs so would be good for your set up 👌
I did this trick and my drums and guitar loop went completely out of sink.. which is so weird cause I used the 30 for years and can play with it fine

The settings you described DO NOT accomplish what you demo'd.
Play mode set to "single" will stop your beatboxing track as soon as you start track 2 recording. Play mode needs to be "multi" to accomplish what you demo'd
TRK CHAIN SERIES doesn't relate to having two independent tracks. You change it it to PARALLEL your video wouldn't change a bit because you have both tracks in single mode. In the user manual states that if TRK CHAIN = SERIES the output of track 1 is connected to track 2. This only takes effect if you play them simultaneously which is not the case here.
This does not work with a Rhythm/Durms, they go out of sync!

OK I came on to try and get help with this. I know your comment is 3 years ago, but did they ever give an update to fix this? Or did you do a work around? This is frustrating the hell out of me and makes this almost useless!!
