    I've been playing for over 50 years (maybe ten professionally in the late 70's... it's a bit of a blur), however never used a looper. I just got this one as a gift, and I went to RUclips to look for a tutorial... painful process.
    I have an old friend that use to work for Roland Canada and he has a video on here for the RC-3, however the RC-5 is a entirely different, so I was lost. This video went through it all in plain English, with a user demo for all the options.... PERFECT !!!
    Thanks, now if I can just find some patience for all those options. It's a very powerful tool. It'll be a case of 'old dog, new tricks' for a while I'm sure. Thanks again.

    Thanks guys. I bought an RC5 as a post xmas present to myself. I find it easy to navigate - and because I am not yet getting too precious about my loops it really doesn't matter if I screw something up.... it's all learning curve. What a great tool! I just ran an acoustic guitar through it (with an ancient Ibanez acoustic pickup, into a Fender acoustic amp) - it worked a treat.Normally my electric is running into a Fender Mustang LT50. This also works great. I would say the RC5 is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

    I have every hole plugged on this other than the midi
    Have a Ampeg bass amp and 50w guitar amp running through the rc5 with couple creambacks
    ,a beat buddy if you get it set up right for jamming it can be a beast and dust the rafters don’t worry about the drums in my guitar amp it’s all good
    A bass compressor is important to keep this clean with real band bass sound
    I make fairly long loops
    Then play lead on a 20w 1 12” combo with a a extension speaker on other side of bass amp it’s pure heaven this is the clearest Looper that isn’t hundreds more that is crystal clear 👍

    Hi! I love this pedal so far, I've owned it for a week or so. I have a quick question: the rhythm "start before loop" and stop "never" features are great so you can get used to the tempo before recording starts, and so you can have a loop in the middle of a song and keep playing in tempo before and after. But is it just me or do these things only work when a loop is blank, before you first start recording? I would love to be able to keep those settings on a loop even after I've recorded it. Is there a way to do that? I realize you can start the rhythm beforehand with the on/off button but it would be really nice to be able to do it with the foot switch so you can do it while playing.

I want to make backing tracks to use with live shows on GarageBand with my macOS Big Sur version 11.6. I know the computer only uses a 24-bit format. I use ableton as a midi master clock for the looper and I use to Record at the start of the next measure after the switch has been pressed. That's work perfect in the infinity but I don't see this option in the Boss. How can I do this or similar with the RC 5?

  • @kirschenmannvideos7104
    @kirschenmannvideos7104 Год назад

    I use the RC-5 to loop the verse and chorus of a song played on my acoustic guitar onto a numbered loop, then "write" it permanently onto the RC-5. In my solo show, each song on the set list has a little loop number by it as the rhythm track for me to play electric along with it live and sing. One glitch: This has worked well for months but suddenly the drum beats I carefully set up and saved along with the acoustic guitar track disappeared from a couple of the saved loop numbers. Can't seem to get them back, so live I had no drums for those songs. Also, it took my looped/recorded acoustic volume back to 100, too low -- all my other songs are at 150. Now I'm nervous that I can't depend on the pedal doing my solo show stuff. (I tried to add drums to the previously recorded tracks, but failed so far...)

    Hi, I just recently got mine with its PSA adapter(BOSS). I am here for minor assistance if it's okay with you. Upon using its psa, I am very confuse in what way should I do first to turn the unit off. Am I going to unplug the adaptor from the outlet first then unplug the 1/4 cable from Output A, or unplug the output A first then the adapter?
    What's the safest thing to do in order to avoid faulty/malfunction to the pedal?

    • @aaronkaaimarino
      @aaronkaaimarino 3 года назад +2

      To turn off, easiest is to just unplug the 1/4" cable from the output jack labeled "Output A"/Power On. Once disconnected you can unplug the adaptor from wall first, then the power input on the pedal. Most effect pedals (like BOSS) can all be (if you choose to) kept connected and just have a single power strip or power supply with a master power switch, or just unplugged from the wall, without worry of damaging the pedal.

    • @riannedalemusic1899
      @riannedalemusic1899 3 года назад

    • @aaronkaaimarino
      @aaronkaaimarino 3 года назад +3

      @@riannedalemusic1899 IMO. If you are using a power adaptor, I would take the battery out of the unit, if you are not using it.
      Part of the concept of the BOSS compact pedal shape and design was based in the thought that "it's not if a battery will leak, but rather when".
      So though the metal housing battery compartment will protect the circuits of a BOSS pedal from ever getting damaged by battery acid, battery acid leak is still messy.
      Better to remove the battery to avoid a leak situation all together.

    Hi, I don't own a rc-5 yet. I plan to purchase one soon. I'm a little confused about how to use it with my effects chain. I have a Orange micro terror (so no effects loop) and a boss bcb 60 pedal board. It looked like you were suggesting that I don't connect the rc-5 to the last pedal in my chain. Please could you clarify how I should connect the rc-5 in my effects chain? Thanks.

      The looper should be the last pedal in your effects chain.
