Ditto. I was sold as soon as i saw that first trailer. I want to see them expand on the world in the future. A separate title where you _do_ play as *that guy*.
@@captainuseless2120 this mechanic feel like the one from MGS5, you where offline and not able to defend your MB, but players could invade your MB and stole resources or soldiers ! I hated that!
@@ghosthunter08 I only just heard about that. To give credit where it’s due. It seems they did listen. Guess my friend and I fell victim to an overzealous mod. I’ll delete the old reply, as it seems I jumped the gun. Guess the industry has me all jaded and cynical.
My two biggest tips to the devs right now are: 1: Figure out lowering system reqs 2: Get people who actually know how to play video games publicly playing your game #2 has been a major hairpuller for me lately.
There are two creators who posted up videos playing the game properly and it looks so great. One of them is this guy Mr. Buttscotch, I genuinely enjoy his videos as he plays it correctly.
Check out Rozkil he posts solo play where he's further along in the game and actually plays properly. No commentating. Just unedited gameplay. It's good
One idea I thought would really work for a game like this would be an information broker type system. This is where you would recon the battlefield get info on enemy positions, noteworthy obstacles, named bosses like Teethes, identifying key officers, stuff like that. Basically have a recording device or implant that collects information you can sell or trade later on to any organization. I don't want this to be mission or quest based, it's something you decide to do voluntarily. Get in close to dangerous combat, collect data and sell that info to factions. This will also Rase or lower your standing with factions of course. There can also be recon targets posted by factions that you can decide to take at your own discression. Again, I don't want this to be an entire mission. Just an optional objective, risk you take open yourself as you do these scavenger runs in game.
For me, its the uncompromising art and game direction that sold me in the first place. This world is a place I want to be immersed in, even if there is jank currently baked in. World building/atmosphere/tone is carrying this game heavily, and honestly, I'm very ok with that.
Same for me but also the Devs attitude in that early access announcement. You can tell they are down to earth and want to make a great game first and money second. That's the passion that is severely lacking in the gaming industry. That kind of passion is what turned seemingly failures like No Mans Sky to legendary status.
A game's world is only as good as the game's ability to immerse the player in it. If the jank takes the form of bugged AI pathing and such, it's extremely hard to not get taken out of the world when you see a mech moonwalking in place because it got stuck on a pillbox.
@@TheParaxore I'd like to believe that;s the case, but frankly, the "water death" system is starting to make me doubt it. Punishing players for not playing your game is some straight up mobile game crap. Yet they're taking away ALL of your gear for committing the heinous crime of playing something else for a month.
You approach really makes me respect you. Its very rare to see someone willing to not violently cling to their beliefs but to see both sides and try to achieve a middle ground. Which is kinda sad. I really hope your sentiment spreads across the community if not I think it won't go well for anyone.
what worries me the most at the moment is that exactly the wrong playerbase will flood the game; not getting their will and then constantly voice their negativity instead of moving on.
Yeah. People need to remember these aren’t veteran devs, they are concept artists. This isn’t some AAA early access title, this is people new to the whole dev thing working in a small group to make this. Judging it like a AAA game is unfair.
@@yellowsaurus4895 Yes, but they are concept artists. Concepts artists and those who actually work on programming the games, ensuring they work, are two different things
@@Cyberpsychos_DirgeYep. Programmers can make things work. They're not the ones who make the art. Even though a hybrid can exist, but that's more of a rarity.
Ive spent a lot on games i dont even play, just because i support the devs vision of game development. I buy every FromSoft game, still havent played Armored Core 6. Not because i dont want to, but because I havent had the time. I also bought Baldurs Gate 3. I dont like turn based games, but I want to support devs like Larian Studios that think you should get the whole game when you pay boxprice for it. No catch. I’ll be spending money on this, i already played the beta earlier this month and I know my PC can handle it, and I know i enjoy the gameplay although its a bit rough atm. But i’ll be fine if i only play 5 hours of this game. Im glad to support studios like Fun Dog, Larian, FromSoft etc, that share my vision on how games should be.
Love your CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, it’s something thats been dying lately. Everyone is either taking things personally or judging harshly without thinking. I’m glad you’re going to be investing in this game and so will I. I’m all for collaboration of workers and gamers it’s a very healthy society building block that seems almost gone.
The thing about the water system is that it was interpreted by an EVE veteran that it acts as a 'soft' reset and not as a penalty for not playing the game; similar to but smaller than the one EVE Online has. The character's stats remain, but the stuff you have acquired will be gone after a set period of time because, as he put it, it was a "if you don't defend it, you lose it" after a while, which "gives you purpose." Since it prevents you, the player, from permanently acquiring everything from the game and squatting on them. Then getting bored with the game because, by then, you've already acquired everything" from the game. In combination with the player trading/gifting system, you could potentially buy everything back.
I don't care if my 1060 6GB catches on fire and is woo fully under the minimum spec. I will be buying this and TRYING to play it, if only to support their work.
That 1060 definitely will not like this game. I will tell you to run low settings and cap at 30fps. If nvidia experience has any kind of systems to force dlss like radeon forces fsr id definitely use that on the performance setting aswell. Luckily though graphics cards arent crazy in price right now. Ain’t gotta buy the biggest or newest, and you aint gotta go with nvidia cards, their price to performance ratio isnt good at all.
@@nokkprime well IMO that's kind of a filter mechanic, not all players are used to or mentally prepared for a game that doesn't treat you like the main character. And that's one of the things I love about this game. Early game is ruthless to the point where when you are finally able to fight back it feels SO rewarding and earned.
Water death is actually cool af, it will allow me to grind again after I eventually get to a point where i get all the OP weapons etc. after a long break of not playing 😊
Honestly. I feel like the feedback thing is just marketing BS, and have personal experience to prove it. I was in their discord for months, hyped AF for this game. Only I committed the sin of expressing legit concern over the “Water death” system in the past couple of weeks. No insults, no trolling, no calling the game shit or anything like that. In fact, I expressed that I really liked the game, and that’s why I was so concerned about a seriously stupid mechanic. Their response? Muting me for an hour with absolutely no warning. The people who who were straight up nasty because I did so received no such penalties. Same thing happened to a friend. For all the crap about feedback being welcome, they apparently have zero tolerance for mild criticism in their discord. And it really rubs me the wrong way. *Important Edit:* Apparently the water death thing has actually been rolled back quite a bit, so perhaps I was simply the victim of an overzealous and/or sensitive moderator. I want to give credit where it's due, and it seems the devs are actually listening to that feedback.
In their Q&A RUclips video they also didn't address the second most liked question on discord "Are the minimum specs listed on steam correct", "How will this game run on mid-range systems", "performance concerns", these questions were the most prevalent, but not even brought up in the Q&A for some reason. Which is fine they can only answer so many right, but if you tried to voice it in the comments it would get autodeleted....? But they addressed both the water death system and performance issues in this video so is it a moderation issue at the lower levels of fundog studios or are they just addressing it because they feel they have to... it's giving Triple A game vibes lowkey I'll go ahead and stick around for now, but if they keep censoring criticism I just cant support the game
I 100% am a casual player and will go a solid year or 2 without playing a game and then get back into it for 6 months at a time… with that being said it doesn’t seem like “restocking your stache” will be that big of a problem since the entire gameplay loop is looting and collecting resources and your progression doesn’t reset
@@zachvitale836 From what I understand you keep character and quest progression, but I think everything else resets, in part due to things being tied to how much water you have. I'm not 100% sure, but that's the impression I've got from everything I've seen.
@@Zularazilu The developers just caved, probably because of the crying on the Steam forum and discord channel. They inceased the water collection from 30 days to 80 days. So now water is worthless in a post-apocalyptic extraction looter shooter. Casuals, I hope that you are happy making water worthless.
@@MrAgmoore Good. No game should punish you for daring to play something else, especially when H2O is super hard to come by. Before you call me a filthy casual. I play Escape From Tarkov. The game being hardcore ain't the problem, because not logging on has nothing to do with a game being hardcore or not.
Im so going to buy this game! Its been years since a video game has fascinated me that much. I just hope they make the animations smoother for all the entities because it does look a little janky especially when they instantly turn 90 or 180 degrees without a smooth animation inbetween. Also lots of walking animation especially the mechas look a bit wonky cause they often dont seem to actually touch the floor. Stuff like that always breaks the immersion a little. Othwise it looks amazing!
As someone who plays tarkov, I can tell you I REGULARLY put it down for 80+ days and then come right back to binging when I can. As FW is obviously inspired by Tarkov, it's something to consider. Something I really love about tarkov's PvE mode is that I can now do that without losing progress. Maybe at least water expendature can be slowed if you spend consecutive days without logging in. You're using less water by not going out on raids could be the "lore reasoning"
How is this inspired by Tarkov? Lol. They both have guns, that’s about it. Its more close to Hunt Showdown where the enviroment is actually scary. Nothing scares you in Tarkov except cheaters.
@@ShaddyzZz Anyone whos actually played tarkov understands the similarities in the gameplay loop and what makes it scary, including the devs who have outright said "this is inspired by tarkov"
Even at 80days, the water mechanic running real time sucks. It looks amazing, but this will keep me from playing personally. I frequently put DRG down for 80 days. I know this is a different style of game, but if I had to reaquire all my shit over again I wouldn't play it. Difficulty is great, hardcore awesome, punishing for not playing is just not fun nor does it add anything to the game.
They got the wrong idea. If the game is too hard, it’s TOO hard. When thats because of janky ai spawning and a pretty poorly implemented stealth mechanic, that’s not ok.
I'm sold. I was lucky enough when I bought Valheim during early access, I'm going to test that luck again with Forever Winter to see what happens. If they want feedback, they'll get it, and by tradition you can damn well bet a lot of it will be negative. Maybe I can find the moment to leave positive feedback such as, "This is great, don't change it!", but I wouldn't count on it.
I dunno man, I often come back to games WAY after 80 days. Having my progress wiped if I take a long break is just bad no matter how you frame it in a PvE game. That mechanic has zero place in a game where the GAMEPLAY should make you feel anxious, not the act of doing anything other than playing The Forever Winter. It punishes the player for not playing, regardless of the cap. It's a really shitty system to have in a non-competitive extraction game. If it had PvP, I could understand. But it doesn't, and both we and the devs need to stop acting like feeling anxiety when NOT playing the game won't make people burn out after the first month. It's frighteningly shortsighted, and I want this game to pop off. I just don't see it succeeding long term with a system like this.
I cant wait to get my hands on the alpha, yeah the jank will be there, but its the vision of oldschool game design. I hope this game grows, from what ive seen from youtube videos from other sources, the devs seem to be on point to listen. Its group effort between the devs and players, it can be gold if we all speak our opinion an let them know. 🤘🏼
Holy crap they have a 30mm handheld weapon? This shit is gonna get fun. I knew that they broke the .50 cal rule with the 20mm, but 30mm is on a different level.
I wish the game could have been predownloaded. I sat in front of my computer refreshing steam and yelling, "Take my money!" Now I'm waiting 2hrs for the download to finish. I have crazy expectations but I expect bugs at the beginning.
I do actually take breaks from games that are longer than 80 days but I don’t mind starting over in a situation like this game is presenting. I expect I’ll play the early access for a few weeks or months pretty hard and then set it aside until a new update comes out or the full release. I have no problem letting a water death happen and then getting my shit back together. 80 days is long enough where if you intend to keep up with a game but can’t for a few weeks, it’s no big deal.
I was just playing Colony Ship, damn the writing in that game is good. I love how it immediately convinces you that you aren't important or a hero, you're just trying to survive and to do that you need to do dirty jobs for people.. and if you weren't convinced by them telling you that? The moment you step into the wrong area in a dumb way, you'll be completely obliterated.
I say wait for the demo. This is rough on your pc. It wont run well with the recommended specs on steam right now. When they get DLSS working you can get 20-30 fps for free with a RTX card that supports it, or FSR for AMD equivielnt. This is also not a good stealth game currently. You only have crouch to your advantage. There are better stealth games out there. MGS5 for example.
@@ShaddyzZz I mean, my pc should be able to handle it (AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT/Ryzen 5 7600/SSD/64 RAM) but I'm not sure I could stream it in good enough quality, I think they're working rn on DLSS/FSR (hopefully that's the reason the release is delayed :). And I know stealth mechanics are not that huge but the spirit is here lol. I think I'm too excited no matter what lmao
Yes actually, I would come back after 80 days. I do something similar with hunt showdown. I'll drop something like 400 hours on it, burn out for a while, come back 4-6 months later and drop another 400 hours or so. I'm not a fan of the idea of the water ticking down while I'm not playing. It turns the game into homework rather than a challenge. It won't stop me from trying this game cause there's way too much here that looks really good and even more that looks very promising. However, I'd prefer it water only dropped during play. Maybe a certain amount each run. I dunno. But having a ticking timer in the back of my mind while I'm playing other games, at work, whatever just would not be a good feeling. And if they make it too easy to top it off then that's just removing a lot of the challenge. All in all, I don't think it's a good way to approach this.
The biggest thing I love about this game is even though you could be armed to the teeth, in context of the game and the world the game is set in, all those weapons are meant for self defence. They are there to give you the opportunity to get out of a fire fight or stop one from happening rather than to start or win one. You are not that guy, you are this guy. I almost feel like the game needs an opening disclaimer like darkest dungeon does to clearly state its intentions.
I'll buy the game as soon as it comes out.. I dont even know if i'll be able to run it on my PC, i don't know if i'll really enjoy the game (never played extraction shooter before) but i'm sure of one thing, i'm already in love with the atmosphere in this game, the art and the trailers, the world building, the lore. So anyway, i'll support the project, if i need to wait 6 month for them to optimize the game so that i'm able to run it. I'll wait. If i dont like the game, well, i will have supported the project. The devs speech about the current state of video games developpers seems passionate and honest enough for me to believe they genuinely wants to do something good. And i'm willing to give them money just for this state of mind
If gear is lost on water death then let players regain some of it by re-looting it in the environment. If their base died then other scavs would loot your base and that loot would make its way out into the environment in stashes. This could actually be kinda fun if done well, turning a problem into an opportunity.
@@ShaddyzZz I regularly take long breaks from games and then hop back into them. I've seen multiple other people say so too. Please keep in mind that the 80 days thing only comes from scavenging water for an hour. I shouldn't have to spend an hour scavenging a resource the devs made up just so I don't lose all my stuff the next time I take a long break.
What I've gathered from my experience with the game, is that there is some learning curve to it. Before you pass that learning curve, water mechanic won't matter much, if at all. And after you go past that learning curve, water mechanic really won't matter. As I see it, it's just a gimmick that you can ignore, unless they change it somewhere down the line. You have to just get a feel of the game. What works how, do's and dont's. And after that you can just play. Base wipe lost its significance. Better weapons won't give as much edge as you think, and you're supposed to skulk in the shadows to begin with. If you master those mechanics, it doesn't matter if you loose all your upgrades. Your character upgrades will still be with you. And with your knowledge of game mechanics, farm for a few hours, and you're golden.
For me, the only feedback I have is to just do away with water death. It's not "hard" by any means, it's just tedious and I would argue making someone anxious about a Sword of Damocles OUTSIDE of playtime isn't ethical.
I've never seen one of your videos this is the first one, had to pause it just to come in the comments and say bravo everything you said is awesome. You have a great outlook will definitely be checking out your content.
I adore the maps. Truly. A beautiful sight to behold and echo fear into my bones. It's intimidating. And I love it so much. The prospect of being able to sneak through without anyone seeing me, get in & get out, is incredible. Awesome stuff! I want more stealth and stealth based characters/kits. I also want to see more human interactions between soldiers. While I can be gone for many days or years from a game, I like to come backand see my stuff still in place. It's one of the reasons I don't like multiplayer survival games as I can be gone for a while and see I got nothing left. It would be nice if I could keep some gear in stock. Sometimes folks need a break or something happens and they can be gone for months. Or they get obsessed with a new game. I once spent three months playing only one game. I don't think detering wandering playere would be a good idea. I heard my friend say that a 1st person view that relies on flat iron sight would be more immersive, so it could perhaps be an option to toggle on. Thank you for the awesome work! Take care of yourself and be at peace.
Even those specs are not enough, unless you enjoy games on less than 60 FPS. My buddy had something similar in terms of specs and his game didnt run very well.
After 80 days or so, I'd definitely be playing this game, I'd just like to return to a classic where I left off since I'm not gearing up against people, there's no PvP component to justify the water I've realized. It's far too easy to get, and hella easy to stock up, but it's a drag to do nothing but that. Even when doing quests. Still payed the game my $33, happy about it, I just want them to do something more productive with the water system
While your argument for the water death does have some truth to it, to me its way more than do I remember how to play this game again. It is the fact that I could lose tens if not hundreds of hours of progress and grinding to be thrown away because I want to step back from a game for a good while. While I may be an outlier, I rotate games all the time and take long breaks from each game, allowing me to return to the game with new content and a renewed will to play. The water death feels like a spit in the players face saying you MUST play in the time frame we tell you, or lose your hard earned gains, and mechanics like that make me restart like that, I am unwilling to play them. If the game does not respect my time then it does not deserve it.
I'm loving this company and really looking forward to play this game. I'm suspecting it's going to turn into a really cool game. I would pickup a good game after 80days, I am busy. A good example is I'm camping right now and have to be on call next week, that's 2 weeks I can't play a PC game, unless it can run on deck. And who knows what after 2 weeks something else might come up
Due to many factors I am the de facto test dummy for new IPs like this one in my friend group. I am hoping for a nice clean launch so I can enjoy the game and gleefully start my lore hunting. Then relay which people will hate/love it and/or if they should hold off for a few patches.
You shouldnt expect ”clean” when its early access. They are simply letting you take part of the development build and test stuff for them, while supporting the studio financially. If you expect clean and good, i think you will be dissappointed my friend.
I've been looking forward to this game for a while now, but then I saw the system requirements and discovered I won't be playing it for a while... Maybe consult with the Deep Rock Galactic guys on superhuman levels of optimization. As for gameplay feedback, the one central complaint I have must already be on their list: Add stealth options to this non-combat game. The number of times I've been watching gameplay footage and wishing the player could throw a rock to distract the enemies goes up every time I see Forever Winter in action.
No game has had me this enthralled in ages! I am going to buy the EA the second it comes out :p I am well aware there will be jank, bugs, and other stuff, and I have no isue with this. I am absolutely in it for the whole ride, and hope I can contribute to the game's development, while enjoying my time with it :) And I am very much become a fan of your content as well MrMugsy, stay awesome! :) See you in the trenches fellow Scavs ;)
Thank you for a great video Mister Mugsy. I am interested in following the development of this game. But call me a cynic if you like but I have been burned far too many times then I like to admit to by honeyed words from game developers. Talk is cheap when it do not cost you anything. How true Fun Dog Studios are to there words is only something we will find out in the future. A Demo is a great way to see if the game runs well on your system! Making a game difficult will limit its player community size. But will give you all lot a respect for sticking to your plans. Team stealth and coordinated attacks in a group of friends is fun. But in a PUG team it can be a nightmare. I played GTFO during its latest free weekend on Steam. During the four hours I played of it was horrible experience dealing with other random players. The majority of the matches I would play in The Forever Winter will be PUG matches. The Water Death system sounds like a bad idea. True that if I have not played a game for more then 80 days the chance of me returning to it is low. But it will be even lower if I know that I have lost much of my stuff for waiting too long. What keeps me playing a game is how much fun I am having. If I have a timer over my head I grow to despise the game. I have not played the two latest expansions for Guild Wars 2. But if I did comeback to it I know that my gear on my characters are still viable if not optimal. I still fantasy of returning to Guild Wars 2 one day.
A lot of the gameplay loop of Forever Winter looks like a more hardcore version of what I enjoy in Metal Gear Solid V, and that strongly appeals to me. I'll go months, or even a year + without playing the game, and when I dip back in it's nice to pick up where I left off. I have a job, relationships and hobbies that dominate most of my free time, so if I get that week of free evenings where I want to dip back into a game I love, it would be discouraging to know that I have to start a new campaign.
The only thing about the 80 day idle stuff (and i get that this might the minority) is the military population, tho i do love the direction and love the realism and personally dont have a problem with it, some people people coming back from deployment are gonna get effed :3, but i love the system and the depth
I will probably lose to lack of water than 80 days away from the game, but the water counting down is lame. Since this game supposedly is an online game (or option of) and not one of those always-online freemium game. There shouldn't be ANY penalties in an offline game.
Glad we seem to be having devs wanting feedback back and listening to it.thats good. I just want ant a robot to carry extra gear for me like the trailer 😂
For reference: took me 7 hours to finish the quest to gather one water container for the innards. I dont know how many raids this was, but Ive only come across 2 of these water containers in my 8-9 hours of playing the beta. Ive been playing videogames for 25 years, im not MLG level but I’m better than average in most games i play. You die a lot for weird reasons in this game, and it can be frustrating. I hope they make water a bit more common because it felt super brutal in the beta for me. And that’s also the top feedback i had for the devs.
None of this toxic positivity shit. If it's fucked, it needs to be fixed. This project will most definitely be janked and broken once EA goes live. This is expected. However what they've shown is the foundation of something spectacular. It needs work, and it needs testers. I'm all in.
Remove water death and I’m 100% on board. Add a food mechanic or something like the game this war of mine where the biggest threat to surviving a siege in a war is food.
@@FuchserEnjoyer Features to come, I'm sure. In their most recent Q/A post on their channel, Miles himself mentioned that they had an additional resource system on paper, but for right now they're probably more focused on getting the baseline systems ironed out.
They should make the water last until their next cycle/season/ Much like other games that reset the game/economy every few months. Yes I do in fact come back to many of my favorite games after being away several weeks/months/years but 9/10 times it's for a fresh playthrough (unless I didn't finish last time or it's an mmo)
The people that played this on RUclips did it terribly. I watched a guy complaining about the AI and was like the ai will run past you because they arent there to kill you, they are there to kill their enemy and then after they do that THEN theyll get back to killing you
I don't want to be punches outside of the game. Sure, have water deplete when in the map - but not when I'm not able to play. I'd even prefer to not lose water when at the Hub
Everyone is talking about performance and AI optimization. What I want to point out to the devs are: 1. What's the end game here? We all know these PVE games start to get boring as the time progress, even with new maps, etc. Think about how to keep that fresh feeling going into a map now as you would playing this game for 2 months. 2. Make the game hard but not repetitive, bullet-sponge will certainly break the game, rather make various enemies with different attach pattern. 3. Some sort of story line. Yeah, this is a PVE with a basic tale already there but what are the back stories, why are these characters surviving as they are today, making players dig for these stories is an adventure itself.
The hard part isnt bullet spongy enemies. The hard part is surviving. You loose 9/10 firefights in this game (as long as the enemies have weapons). Dont see this as a shooter. This is not The Division where you can take 20 bullets to your face while enemies take 500 bullets to kill. You die in 3-5 hits here, and a good headshot or two will also kill your enemies. Problem is they are almost never alone. You always come across squads. They are dangerous, and that’s the hard part.
I have been playing for around 15 hours and have already around 25 days of water, but my concern is that in one month Im travelling for 5 weeks with no options to play there. So I have to make sure I have water for longer than 5 weeks or I lose all to the water mechanic, I know my case is special but still Im on the fence about the water mechanic.
Well i think game have some problems with 3d animations, like clipping hands, too much recoil for weapons and very bright flash(flash is way too bright as it can potentially kill people with epilepsy). All flashes like getting hit, weapon flashes from player gun are too bright and are pain to look at, and i don't even have epilepsy to begin with. For gameplay and meta progression as game goes on. Water mechanic of loosing everything is kinda meh, if water can be resupplied by anyone on world(not just player doing it solo) it won't be a problem, but limitations are too rough, as far better scenario would be turning off some parts of scavs hideout, like shops, mission board, repair scavs and other. Your main mission is to keep scav base running, and if it limping on broken leg you can't build trust or doing trading really as everyone is more concern of short term survival rather then some long term goals. Brutal but logical stuff, more logical then ooough all scav base is out of water and all scavs are now dying of ligma.
i love your comment "ill put my money down on the things that im willing to back because i like the project...." im the same there is games like Deceive inc, Monster Train, Body Cam, Century Age of ashes, Inscryption, one shot the games i have barely tuched some being played for 12 some for 6 and some not at all but i backed them because i saw the videos and reviews and i liked the idea of the game and curage to try to make something different and i will alweys back devs who try to make something uniqe and different and inovative. Fundogs studio has my full support no matter does the game sucseed or not i will alweys back them up as long as they are making sometihng different and uniqe
Wanted to try it out but I’m gonna have to look into it a little more. It’s only 20 something bucks but I want to get more info on how the game plays and stuff. Looks great though from what I’ve seen so far
He mentioned the cap is now 80 days, that a counter argument is that if you haven't played in 80 days are you really going to pick the game back up again, and suggested an option to replay the tutorial if you've suffered water death. Other than that from what I'm seeing, you lose your gear and your vendors but keep your character progress/exp so it should be easy enough to recover from.
@@Tehk If I know that my progress have been wiped - I will definitely not be picking up the game again. Which is a moot point since I won't be picking it up in the first place.
my hopes are that once you progress enough into the late game that eventually you stand SOMEWHAT of a chance and the better ur innards get the better equipment you get hence the more power yyou have? i get they want you to feel powerless mostly but i cant help but wonder if we'll EVER have a bit of a power vacuum apply to us... maybe not helldivers like power where we can just rip through whatever but yeah... would be nice to still have some action you can finally work urself into.
How much gameplay have you watched? I watched a 15 minute video where some random a p90 and svd and wasn’t shy about using weapons, it’s just that the starting gear is not good on purpose
@@ANDYBARLOTV I had a vision of eventually getting a junkyard version of powerarmor (Not a mech just really good armor like in Fallout) and risking a lot of your recourses to be a bad A.

Yeah I can't wait to play this later tonight.. I am unbelievably pumped that it is a p VE extraction shooter so we don't have to deal with all the sweaty SF wannabe tactical Bros.. I love the world they've created and I love how difficult the game is.. It's like the dark souls extraction shooter ive always wanted
Always a red flag to me when crutches like DLSS/FSR advertised. In regards to optimization I mean. But then again, that's what they were made for. Not for the user but for the industry.
2080 super for minimal requirements is crazy, thats all feedback i can give lol, i think using ue5 for this amount of enemies inside the game is a lil weird decision honestly.
Ima say this, I wanna enjoy the game, but i struggle with the AI spawning ontop of me. Plus i wanna have an average where i have wins over losses. Not me having a rarity of wins. Now im not saying i wanna win every time no im saying i wanna win some times but have also like losses that isnt a really bad loss. Its hard i get it but i wanna still have those good wins.
#(*&$(*&@# )((*$2 #)*#)@*$ OK I got it out of my system. No really I love how you are approaching it. the more I have seen I really hope this runs on my system because I am with you on this. Do we know if they have any plans to bring it to consoles within the coming year? I’m currently not in good spot to drop a large amount of money on a PC and I really want to play this game
Dont count on it. This game wont be fully released on PC within 2 years. Bringing it to console is probably another 1-2 years after that, but i havent heard them even talking about console release.
My urgent message to the devs - create named characters, an in-world mythos and lore and narrative, create a storyline ... ...and a director will make you an offer within a year to turn this into a classic dystopian movie. One in a generation.
They're acting like I'm not gonna buy the game as soon as it's open on steam. The atmosphere itself has already sold me.
Ditto. I was sold as soon as i saw that first trailer. I want to see them expand on the world in the future. A separate title where you _do_ play as *that guy*.

My two biggest tips to the devs right now are:
1: Figure out lowering system reqs
2: Get people who actually know how to play video games publicly playing your game
#2 has been a major hairpuller for me lately.
Yeah, hahaha
There are two creators who posted up videos playing the game properly and it looks so great. One of them is this guy Mr. Buttscotch, I genuinely enjoy his videos as he plays it correctly.
Check out Rozkil he posts solo play where he's further along in the game and actually plays properly. No commentating. Just unedited gameplay. It's good
And don't allow how streamers play influence the game.
I can also vouch for Rozkil. Skilled player who's more than willing to explain his strategies to people watching the uploads.
That's actually a really good idea.
I agree.
Agreed 100% and I love how the devs are sticking it to the big game devs who have made these bad practices normal
@@Cyberpsychos_Dirge most of these people already worked for triple A studios before Fun Dog. Not new devs by any means
@@yellowsaurus4895 Yes, but they are concept artists. Concepts artists and those who actually work on programming the games, ensuring they work, are two different things

@ $27, I'll just buy it. If I can't run it, refund within 2 hours. If I miss the refund window, I'm out 2 cheeseburgers. Should be fine though
There's a free demo in October.
The price of 2 cheeseburgers these days 😆 no doubt. 27$ isn't shit these days right. Spend that on food in 1 day
Love your CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, it’s something thats been dying lately. Everyone is either taking things personally or judging harshly without thinking. I’m glad you’re going to be investing in this game and so will I. I’m all for collaboration of workers and gamers it’s a very healthy society building block that seems almost gone.
I'm getting it first thing in the morning. I haven't been this excited about a game concept in years.
Ain’t gotta buy the biggest or newest, and you aint gotta go with nvidia cards, their price to performance ratio isnt good at all.
i cannot wait to die 1000 times in this sick ass looking game.
@@nokkprime well IMO that's kind of a filter mechanic, not all players are used to or mentally prepared for a game that doesn't treat you like the main character.
You should thank them for being so lenient.
@@MrAgmooreAgreed.
But they addressed both the water death system and performance issues in this video so is it a moderation issue at the lower levels of fundog studios or are they just addressing it because they feel they have to... it's giving Triple A game vibes lowkey

Who in the gods earth name ever played a videogame and thought to themselves "I love timers."😅😅
Proper attitude. Criticism promotes strength and quality
I am worried, as with all Early Access games that it will never get finished, just like day Z.

I think Anomaly is the best OST to date
@@mistermugsy Most definitely
I am a simple man. I'm waiting for midnight to drop so I can send them my money.
Actually: 3pm, Sept 24th.
I love ur vibe on the end message of ur vid mate, game design aint easy for the mass public and the niche peeps looking for a specific game.
I appreciate your approach and look forward to seeing the duel 'mechanical issue' and 'practices issue' approaches to problems.
don't know if I can wait for the demo lol, I'm so exited to play a good stealth/contemplative game but I'm worried about performances
Just fix the water death system. Don't force people to play your game every few days by resetting all their progress. Make them WANT to.
@@weir-t7y”every few days” - water death is 80 days. If you havent played for 80 days, chances are you wont be playing much more at all.
I was excited for this game Played two hours and now i'm asking for my refund its not fun at all
For me, the only feedback I have is to just do away with water death. It's not "hard" by any means, it's just tedious and I would argue making someone anxious about a Sword of Damocles OUTSIDE of playtime isn't ethical.
I love the atmosphere. So far I don't think it's brutal enough but I'll find out here in about 10 hrs.
I love this game, EVERYTHING about it, but in its current state my PC just won't run it, the min reqs listed on steam are the just too high for me.
This is one which I'll be grabbing. I love the concept of the game and the attitude of the dev's seems really promising.
I’m sad I have to work tomorrow. But at least I’ll have time to look at some reviews
Yea I got the surprise to with the timed extraction. Sprint+running around a large piece of debris got me out safe.
I certainly plan to do my best to provide my thoughts when i can get my hands on the EA.
Can't wait to sift through the ashes with some fellow scavs.
I'll definitely not play for 80 days, I don't really care if there's a few hours of catch-up on water required, it comes with the territory.
And that’s also the top feedback i had for the devs.
there is a penalty for a longer break from the game, this is a reason why not to buy this game + system requirements
I am looking forward to the demo, but I have to confess that if this ran OK on Steamdeck, it would be an easy buy.
This games like being a human on the ground in armored core
Having played the early access, i hope they keep the random flying tanks
None of this toxic positivity shit. If it's fucked, it needs to be fixed.
This project will most definitely be janked and broken once EA goes live. This is expected. However what they've shown is the foundation of something spectacular.
It needs work, and it needs testers. I'm all in.
Can’t have a Concord repeat. People need to be able to be critical of the game to see it succeed. Glad to see more think the same.
This 100x.
Change the way the Helikopters fly / move. The look so gamey. The should have a realistic flight model like BF3/4.
They should make the water last until their next cycle/season/ Much like other games that reset the game/economy every few months. Yes I do in fact come back to many of my favorite games after being away several weeks/months/years but 9/10 times it's for a fresh playthrough (unless I didn't finish last time or it's an mmo)
The game looks intriguing as hell. Did I see a jump pack or rocket boots?
The people that played this on RUclips did it terribly. I watched a guy complaining about the AI and was like the ai will run past you because they arent there to kill you, they are there to kill their enemy and then after they do that THEN theyll get back to killing you
I don't want to be punches outside of the game. Sure, have water deplete when in the map - but not when I'm not able to play. I'd even prefer to not lose water when at the Hub
Everyone is talking about performance and AI optimization. What I want to point out to the devs are:
I love the idea of the game, just the system requirements is what keeps me from playing the game
My buddy is playing on a 1660ti, Ryzen 2700x, and SATA SSD at an inconsistant 45fps. Lowest it drops is 30fps.
Looks great though from what I’ve seen so far
the fact that they will drop a demo is enough for me to buy it tbh
when is the last time anyone put out a free demo?
Plenty of indie games do.....
And the free demo isn't happening until next month.
@@725ken fair enough but im a grownn man and don't care about le ebin 16bit rpg nr 128421923
Ah can't we do just a little bit of swearing?
Right, so what about the waterdeath mechanic that deletes your progress if you don't log in?
This. Great question.
It punishes you specifically for not playing the game you've already purchased often enough. Yes.
@@Tehk
If I know that my progress have been wiped - I will definitely not be picking up the game again.
Which is a moot point since I won't be picking it up in the first place.

I'm really afraid from watching the gameplay that id never get to a point where i can do something as simple as fire my weapon at the enemies.
my hopes are that once you progress enough into the late game that eventually you stand SOMEWHAT of a chance and the better ur innards get the better equipment you get hence the more power yyou have? i get they want you to feel powerless mostly but i cant help but wonder if we'll EVER have a bit of a power vacuum apply to us... maybe not helldivers like power where we can just rip through whatever but yeah... would be nice to still have some action you can finally work urself into.
How much gameplay have you watched? I watched a 15 minute video where some random a p90 and svd and wasn’t shy about using weapons, it’s just that the starting gear is not good on purpose
@@xNeoNxCyaN yeah thats what i very much figured. thats good to know. also i figured supressors must serve a purpose also
@@ANDYBARLOTV I had a vision of eventually getting a junkyard version of powerarmor (Not a mech just really good armor like in Fallout) and risking a lot of your recourses to be a bad A.
@@Acesahn i think the devs mentioned that they dont have that planned but after being asked if this could happen that they will give it serious thought - i bet it will happen from their reply!
Shit I'm still on my first pass in WUKONG!!!
Always a red flag to me when crutches like DLSS/FSR advertised. In regards to optimization I mean. But then again, that's what they were made for. Not for the user but for the industry.
Counting down to launch. In it for the same reasons. Likely going to solo or tandem most of the time. I will kill Toothy before I'm done.
Do we know if it's available at 12am est?
Says 7 hours on steam.
If I come back to a game after over 80 days, I usually start new.
Where can you provide the feedback?
I may still not trust a dev saying anything but I am willing to spend on this game. I do not mind if a game is hard what I hate is a community that shuns people trying to get better.
The water system 😢
Killzone vibes instant buy
Do we know if they have any plans to bring it to consoles within the coming year? I’m currently not in good spot to drop a large amount of money on a PC and I really want to play this game
Dont count on it. This game wont be fully released on PC within 2 years. Bringing it to console is probably another 1-2 years after that, but i havent heard them even talking about console release.
Gonna buy it no matter what lol
Eh, getting a suggestion to redo the tutorial after water death could feel like an insult toward the player
My urgent message to the devs - create named characters, an in-world mythos and lore and narrative, create a storyline ...
...and a director will make you an offer within a year to turn this into a classic dystopian movie. One in a generation.
I was going to buy it but the reg scared me away.
Escape from Tarkov you can leave it for several months waiting for the next wipe.
