  • Time for something different! In this video, I review the Wurkkos WK20S dive light. This light is water resistant up to 150m, and throws a whopping 447m on turbo. Due to the weight/effective heatsinking, the WK20S also has some impressive sustained output figures. Watch my video to find out more! ‪@wurkkosflashlight1052‬

    Wurkkos WK20S: Video Transcript
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
    • This is a solid-performing flashlight that has excellent throw and heatsinking capabilities. It's built like a tank! Feels heavier than other lights of the same size. It's also waterproof and rated at 150m - impressive for a $20-30 light. You get a lanyard, battery, charger, and USB cable with the light.
    • Size comparisons with other lights.
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel, and reflector
    • Standard type III glossy black anodizing - Wurkkos use this same anodizing on all their lights, does the job, and is reasonably durable. The walls are thicker than all my other flashlights, and feels very solid, like it could take some serious drops without issues. The battery tube has dual O-rings, very thick ones on each end to ensure waterproofing.
    • SST40 LED paired with a smooth reflector. Makes for outstanding throw, though an SFT40 would probably throw further. Large o-ring under the glass.
    • Smooth bezel, the head is wider than the body @39mm. Can be disassembled easily if you want to unscrew and perform an emitter swap.
    • No onboard charging. Makes sense as this is a diving light. Wurkkos have included an external charger thankfully that is powered via a USB adapter.
    UI - modes
    • Very simple UI - L,M,H,T - hold to turn off.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
    • CCT, CRI, Ceiling bounce test
    • This light is rated at 2000 lumens - the beam is definitely more on the throwy end, even with the SST40.
    Considerations
    • No onboard charging, though this is warranted as it is a dive light.
    • Larger head size @39mm, uncomfortable to pocket
    • The metal side switch is easy to locate and activates without much pressure, but I wish that Wurkkos went with a recessed rubber button instead. It would mean less chance of accidental activation.
    Verdict
If you're looking for a waterproof dive light or general light to take with you near water, this is a great quality budget option. You can even use this as a long-range flashlight due to its excellent sustained performance. I like that I can also get into the head of the flashlight, and may swap in an SFT40 at some stage.

Should I store my battery in this light?

If storing for a long time, you should probably keep it outside of the light. But I just loosen the tailcap, or put some insulation material to server the connection between the tail spring and battery

Depends on what you're using it for but this has much stronger throw and sustained lumens.. it's heavier and not really pocketable though.
